Everytime we have gone in we have felt that we were treated with great respect, kindness, experience, and fairness. We have a minivan that is 12 years old and Sam and the crew there have helped us keep it running safely for our new 16 year old driver. What we have appreciated more than anything is being shown why parts need replacing - and what is being done to our vehicle each time. Sam takes the time to explain what the problem is, show us parts, pictures, or other evidence, and is fair and truthful about what repairs are necessary vs. those that can wait (because no one has a limitless bank account really!) I had never been to Midas before. Was I impressed. I called and spoke to Sam and told him I was looking for 4 new tires and also needed an alignment. I told him that I had already talked to several local tire stores and that I was comparison shopping. He asked me for the best quote that I had. I gave it to him and he gave me an extremely great deal. I felt comfortable having my vehicle serviced here with Sam and his crew. Sam is honest and sincere. Sam is amazing! He read my check engine light for free just like advertised. Told me exactly what was wrong and about how much it would be, I was relieved the warning was to have a tune up.I had previously had work done on my car at another location that I was very unhappy with, I unfortunately did not buy a car that has had a good reputation 2007 Jeep Compass. There was no pressure to have it fixed right now. I was able to make an appointment for a day that was convient for me. When I went back he was spot on with the price. He did not try to upsale me. He told me I would see a dramatic different. He explained all that he had done and why and how everything worked. Being a woman I am always so very hesitant to have my car checked. I have not had good experiences with mechanic my entire driving life. Sam is WONDERFUL. He is now my mechanic and my daughters mechanic. I had my water pump and thermostat replaced for nearly $600.00, felt that the price was somewhat steep but I was not from the area and had to get it done in order to get back home. The reason I gave them three stars was mainly due to the manager Sam and his staff their service was good and the timely manor they fixed it in (2 1/2hrs). I'm not sure I'd go back to Midas again due to the price. Maybe to get a second opinion or an oil change. read more

I've been to several different places to get my car checked or fixed and we all have met the mechanics that overcharge us and make us do things to our car that weren't necessary. I can honestly say that after going to Mida's and talking to Sam, that I feel secure and content knowing that I'm in good hands. I didn't take the greatest care of my car before and I had to have a lot of work done, and as a college student, Sam was more than willing to work with me! I actually found him because my Grandpa had followed just Sam from a prior mechanic place. Went in for rear brake job. I did not want to pay dealer prices. Midas told me my front discs were cracked and rotors were well under the limit. I wanted a second opinion. Second opinion was no cracks in discs and rotors still had twenty thousand miles to go. I watched as they took the measurements. Well above what Midas told me. GET A SECOND OPINION. Good and friendly staff that does the work. Terrible front desk experience (with young guy; there is older guy there as well and he was always nice). The young guy wanted to charge me incorrectly and when I asked questions, he said they don't need customers like that. Superheroes! Once again Sam, Jason & Dax were my heroes. I had a unique problem that I didn't think was for them (rear window in Mustang wouldn't go up....), so after getting sent back and forth between body shop and glass shop, I called Sam for his input or referral. Turns out he has "secret weapon" Dax who knows how to do this and keep the expense down as well! Between Sam & Jason they were able to get me in and out (around my crazy work schedule), save $'s, and get it done from someone I trust as well! DISAPPOINTING!!! I called Friday 3/16/18 and spoke to someone who verified this location (on Railroad in Saugus) IS honoring the $19.99 oil change and tire rotation special. I get here today 3/19/18 and as I'm about to sign the paperwork to get the work started, I see a total of almost $50. I told the gentleman at the counter of my phone call and his words were "Hmm... that's funny, I'm usually the one who answers the phone...? Unless it was a tech. That's a national promotion but we're not doing it here." I don't care if it was a tech, a janitor, or WHOEVER- if they're answering your phones, it's their obligation to give the correct information. Feels too coincidental that all of a sudden when I- a woman, by myself- show up to have the oil change done it's no longer $19.99. I'll NEVER be back to a Midas ANYWHERE- - I gave one star only because I have to rate this business in order to post my review. read more

Do not go here! Went here to have them work on my exhaust and make my stock muffler line up with the flange on my aftermarket exhaust. All they had to do was cut the pipe on the stock exhaust piece and weld a longer piece on and then bolt it on and instead they cut the muffler off my $800 exhaust without asking me and welded the stock muffler onto it and also tried to keep my expensive muffler. Once I saw the hack job I complained and the OWNER, who apparently was the one who did the work said I wasn't specific and that he wouldn't fix it and used foul language and threatened to have me removed. This man was completely disrespectful and hostel and his work was a complete hack job and that's a $800 exhaust down the drain. I have reported him to the Better Business Bureau and will not be letting this go. I suggest you STAY AWAY FROM THIS SHOP!!! read more

I am extremely shocked by my experience. I brought my car in on Tuesday paid for an a/c inspection was told I had a hose leak and was told it was going to be over $500. I got the part else where and had them install it. I picked my car up at 4 after dropping off at 8:22am. I drove 12 minutes and my a/c broke again. Sam had been handling my car so when I brought it back in he asked if my dad while inspecting it the week prior had noticed my compressor was a bright orange color so then I asked why he hadn't noticed it during the inspection I paid for. He then to back track and proceeded to tell me it wasn't like that when he had it and it happened in the 12 minutes I drove my truck. He remained very respectful and polite every interaction I had with him. Although I wasn't happy with having to bring my truck in 4 times this week this is not why I'm writing this review. When I called to ask how much I would have to pay again I was told $481 on top of everything I had already paid. I told them I wasn't going to pay that much and the owner of the store Jason BLEW UP. He cussed at me called me vulgar things called my dad nasty names threatened me and proceeded to tell me I deserved whatever I get. I felt so threatened I had to arrange to pick up my truck with a sheriff so that the situation wouldn't escalate. I would never ever go back there nor will I recommend anybody going there read more

My car needed some work so I went into a local auto store and asked for referrals. They gave me 3 local auto repair shops. I called Midas first, since the name was the most familiar. I didn't make another call ... the time and patience that Sam spent answering my questions was all that I needed. I went in for what I hoped to be a small repair, but I ended up needing a new engine (at just over 210,000 miles, I know there was no deception or up-selling, just straight talk). We tried a smaller fix first, but Sam told me in advance there were no guarantees that it would work and unfortunately, it didn't. I left not knowing whether to get a new car or replace the engine. After much research and another 500 questions (which were all answered with the same original patience) I opted to get a "new" engine installed in my car. I don't know how the price I paid compared with other shops since I didn't shop around. I do know that I feel it was a fair price, I received excellent service and my car is running better than it has in a long time. Thank you Sam and Dax and the rest of the Midas staff for making this stressful time bearable. I appreciate it! read more

I've taken my Honda to the Midas on Railroad Ave a few times since the warranty expired and no longer required to get service at the dealer. Sam, the manager, has been extremely attentive each time, remembering my name, face, and car, and always being friendly, honest, and fair. At 100,000 mile service he explained to me what "factory recommends" and what was really important out of that--basically he recommended against some additional things that I didn't need, and gave me a much better price even on the parts and services I did get compared to elsewhere. More recently, check engine light went on and the car was shifting erratically--we dropped off the car after the shop was technically closed but I still spoke to him in person, got a call next morning with an explanation of what was wrong and an estimate of what it would be to fix it. He even offered to drop my car off (I live about 8 miles away) in case we wouldn't be able to pick it up before close that night. Definitely above and beyond all around, and each time I bring my car there I continue being impressed with the customer service, the work done, and the fair prices.
