Not a big reviewer but.. First came to Midas off excelsior two months ago for a $20 oil change. Although I was initially suspicious of a big-name mechanic like Midas, The first thing I heard when I walked in was the manager Jason explain to two women that a repair was not worth the value of the car and the diagnostic check was free. When it came time for my oil change, service was prompt and the technician identified filter that needed to be changed at a reasonable cost. Cut to today, I'm having trouble getting the oil plug loose while trying to change my oil. I call Jason at my desk to see if they could loosen it for me. He said they're busy but swing by anytime. Had a great experience with Royce and his team at the St Louis Park Midas on Excelsior Blvd. I brought my 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe in for a routine oil change and also to diagnose an annoying noise coming from my front left wheel well. The oil and filter changes were done really quickly and I appreciated the inspection report being texted to me. Regarding the noise, they didn't find anything on inspection so Royce drove the car for awhile. When he didn't hear the noise he offered to ride along with me so I could point it out. After hearing the mystery noise, Royce took another one of his mechanics along with him for a ride so they could diagnose and then they fixed in like 10 min. Turns out the Dealer I had been using for previous service installed the new brakes wrong on that side and some of the hardware was wearing. Royce and his team didn't give up until they found th issue and then fixed it. I will absolutely be bringing my car to Royce and his team for all of my service needs going forward. read more

Can't speak highly enough of this location and their incredible staff!!! We had some issues with one of our cars and when we brought it in Royce was more than helpful getting it serviced in a pinch and got us a loaner for the weekend. He was SO incredibly helpful that we brought our other car back and had the same, if not better, service from Royce. He was even kind enough to go out of his way to drop the paperwork for the rebate off at my work since I was unable to get there before closing. I've never experienced an auto repair place go so above and beyond- I will be coming here for all of my car needs from now on! read more

I took my car in the other day to see what was making noise and setting my abs light off after I had called the dealer which the dealer wanted $60. just to look at it. Midas said that they would road test it and bring it into the shop and find out what was wrong at no charge which was so true. They also brought me back into the shop and showed me what was wrong and gave me a written estimate . I call 2 other shop's and a dealer and they were a better deal to ,I made a good choice . I wasn't able to get a callback from the Midas that is closest to my house, so I decided to call the Midas in St. Louis Park since it is close to my job and let me tell you- it was pure joy. Royce and another staff member (sorry I forgot his name) was so personable and fit me in when I thought my appointment was at 11am (it was actually at 10am). The customer service was so top tier, I plan to drive right pass the nearest Midas from my house and do business with this location. I will send my friends and family there too! Highly recommend this shop for anyone looking for great all around service! Friendly, knowledgable, and extremely efficient! My tire blew out and figured my whole weekend would be shot trying to find an honest shop to see me while also tracking down the specific tires I needed. Midas to the rescue! Not only did they seem to drop everything to help when I called, but they tracked down the specific tire I needed in town and were able to have my car good as new within a couple hours! I had a flat tire and was in desperate need of breaks. A family member referred me to Midas. They told me that Midas is very respectful and honest. The shop was very clean and I was welcomed immediately by friendly staff. He listened to my concerns and scheduled me in right way. These guys are standup gentleman who know what they're doing with cars. I'd venture that nearly all the bad reviews you've read about these guys are from previous owners and mechanics. They actually told, (and proved to me) that this was the case. The prices are very fair. They have wifi and cable in the waiting room. They also provide customers with soda, coffe, tea and cold water. The atmosphere is pretty laid back. It is very clear that they are there to help! read more
