Car repair shops are too often synonymous with sleazy mechanics looking to overcharge and take advantage of unsuspecting folks exploiting them for every dollar possible. That has never been my experience here in the years I've been coming here. Allan, the general manager, makes sure he does everything to make sure you understand what's going on with your car in simple to understand language and gives you the fairest price you can find. The work is thorough and they take extreme pride in getting the work done right the first time so you won't have to come back. I've even seen Allan ask his workers redo work because he wasn't quite satisfied with how it was done the first time. What's also amazing is he remembers you by name when you walk in the door and will continue a conversation you may have been having with him from months higher. When I went to Midas they simply fixed it immediately though it was almost closing time. Also did not charge me any money. I would like to thank for their timely help and service. I was so impressed how I was treated yesterday at Midas in Tustin. I called right before they were closing (with a really loud noise that was very scary to me as I had a long drive home from work)) and they gave me directions and told me they would wait for me. I arrived shortly after their closing time, they put my car up on a hoist AND fixed the problem quickly. They showed me what he problem was and what they were going to do to fix it. Seriously if anyone needs maintenance on their vehicles and needed be cost efficient, these guys are the best! My family and I come here always to get everything done. Today not only were they super kind and understanding of our financial situation, they did a complementary safety check on my vehicle, they also cut my original quote of $210 for 4 spark plugs to be changed out, but they cut it in half! I have been going to this place for a few years for major service. I thought I had found the right mechanic but I was dead wrong. These people are DISHONEST. 3 days after I bought another car I brought it for an oil change and alignment. They gave me back my car with the side of my leather seats ripped. When I confronted them with it they did not take responsibility for it. The manager told me that it was because of wear and tear but never denied that it happened there. This was a blatant lie. When I brought the car it was in mint condition. Besides wear and tear happens evenly not only in one spot. This trip cost me $275 for upholstery repair. I've been going to midas for years, but after receiving terrible service one visit after another, I've decided I won't be returning. I sucked up the last few visits while giving these guys the benefit of the doubt. I couldn't have been more outraged after my last visit however. I dropped my car around noon on monday 4/30 to have a few things looked at, and never heard back from them. I called the next day in the evening and they told me they would call me back. They didn't. I called back on Wednesday afternoon only to find out the diagnostic and quote for the service. I picked up my car and that was the end of our business. Not having a car is a huge inconvenience as my only means of transportations involved getting rides, taking the bus, and calling uber. Thanks for the honest, friendly service and great value. I was getting a smog inspection nearby and called Midas to checkout my brakes. It was nearly closing hour but the Service Manager, Steve Saul, made time to check it out. Gave me honest assessment and aold me on a great deal he shares with all his family members: get your brakes done and for every future brake job on that car, just pay labor, the brake pads are free. That would save about 300 for every future brake job on all 4 brakes. I came in the next day and Steve quickly took care of me. A fine gentleman with fun stories about his life adventures too. In fact the service was quite good, they seemed to know what they were talking about and finished the job in a timely fashion. So I decided to bring my own car in for an oil change. We've been coming to our local Midas for a little over a year now for our vehicle preventative maintenance and haven't experienced any of the issues described in some of the prior reviews. I first spoke to Allan over the phone who gave me a really good price for new brakes and an oil change. When I brought in my car the next morning I found out the grinding noise meant I needed a lot more than just brakes. I'm a dumb girl who doesn't know anything about cars so I ruined my rotors and needed an alignment and new Tires too. I think his name was Stephen, got me all hooked up with everything I needed and gave me a really really good deal. Still leaving this review as a five star because I am still happy with my service but I do want to write about my most recent visit. Usually, the person at the front is either Allen or David and those are both great guys and have always made me feel very welcome and their interactions with other customers from what I've seen has always been top notch and their customer service skills are probably 90% of why this Midas is so popular and gets such good reviews. However, the last two times I came in this other guy named Tim was working the front and the first time I came in I totally forgot to make an appointment first and when I walked in he did not greet me and all and did not even acknowledge me until what felt like 5 minutes before he finally asked if I had an appointment and let me know that they couldn't see me that day, which is fine I made an appointment for the next day and came back in and once again it was Tim! And he once again didn't really acknowledge me for a while. After I sat down I just observed him being really frustrated with the computer and then a line of about 3 people came in, I timed it! Took 4 minutes before he acknowledged any of them after being visibly frustrated with the computer, it was super awkward. I hope that David and Allen are just on vacation right now since it is the holidays and that Tim is not going to be a usual fixture at the front, I'm going to really miss David and Allen's great customer service if he is :( read more

My first review for Midas and I can't tell you how relieved I am! I'd heard a lot of bad stories about Midas Tustin but a friend suggested I go as he had a great experience with them. So reluctantly I went to Midas for an oil change hoping that they don't mess up anything in my car. To my surprise, the guy at the desk David S. wasn't rude at all (many people on yelp have mentioned that the staff is rude). Then the guy who actually worked on my car, Jose, was a really nice guy and let me see the engine and stuff (I love opening things up but not that great at closing them down). The oil change was done perfectly and the standard courtesy check was also great. I'd highly recommend Midas Tustin to my friends and anyone else who needs an oil change done on their car. These guys are life savers! They came to my rescue immediately, with Henry coming to jumpstart my dead battery, taking the car in for a new battery and doing the needed oil change. David was right on top of reseaching how old my battery was and if it was covered under warranty. No such luck, but the price he gave me was unbeatable by anyplace! Great place! Got a smog check done nearby and decided to stop and get a panel fixed (was hanging by one bolt). The place nextdoor told me to leave my car for a few hours. Decided to check Midas. This place is the best ! My car started having some issues where it was kind of lurching forward so my dad recommended this midas to me for them to fix it. It ended up being a REALLY BIG project just to get the car to even start but the guy there Allan was so nice and understanding about me not having nearly enough to pay it all up front but he's a really great guy and got my car fixed for me to get to and from work and he gave me a great price ! I don't know much about cars and there had been QUITE a bit of wear and tear on my '99 lexus but he got it up and running good as new at something i could afford. My dad was right about this place and the staff is so funny and good at their job. I went in because I had a screw in my tire. They had other customers ahead of me but still took me right away WITHOUT having to wait at all. Steve was such a sweet, genuine guy who was extremely helpful and friendly. I just moved to California (literally yesterday), and after the 2000 mile drive, I noticed my car was making a horrible rattling noise. First, I went to a Midas in LA where they told me it was going to cost $600 for all the repairs. I knew something seemed off so I decided to try my luck at this Midas (which is closer to where I am temporarily residing). I have a warranty on my muffler with Midas, and the charge ended up being $0! I couldn't believe it. Steve replaced my muffler free of charge! I thought they would of AT LEAST charged me for labor. But wow... $0 is so much better than $600. It was truly a blessing. I could not be more grateful for their honesty and helpfulness. read more
