I agreed to pay approximately $120 per axle because I was repeatedly told I would receive Performance Friction (PFC) brake pads. The first work order instead listed inexpensive Centric pads ($20). When I questioned this, the shop told me it was a mistake, claimed they did not use Centric pads, and issued a revised work order. I trusted the correction and did not inspect the replacement paperwork carefully enough before the work was completed. Afterward, I checked the installed part numbers: Front: 1551-1444-01 Rear: 1551-1848-01 These are Dynamic Friction Company 5000-series ceramic pads--not Performance Friction pads. Comparable DFC pads sell online for roughly $30-$40 per axle, while I was charged $119.99 for the front pads and $109.99 for the rear pads. The problem is that I specifically asked multiple times whether I was receiving PFC pads, agreed to the price based on that representation, and received a different, substantially less expensive product. When I contacted the shop, I was told someone would investigate and call me back. No one did. When I called again, the manager defended the pricing based on the lifetime warranty, as if I'd ever go there again. And the best part: They didn't even install the cheap DFCs. They actually went ahead and installed the Centric anyway. They were just hoping that I wouldn't notice on the original work order, and they were hoping I'd never notice what actual brakes they ended up installing. I had some work done on my car the very next day though. So now I paid $120 for $20 Centric, and not by accident. read more

I brought my car in for an oil change and also requested a tire inspection. One of my tires had a flat, and they promptly repaired it. The service was very quick and professional. Marco was exceptionally friendly and professional, as were the technicians in the back. I would definitely recommend this establishment. I have had experiences at other places where I felt overcharged and pressured into unnecessary upgrades and additional products for my car, which I found unsatisfactory. I suppose I'm a former indie shop snob. Never in a million years did I imagine myself being a repeat customer at a big brand auto service business, but here I am. It seems like the quality of care varies from location to location, but this location nails it. For my first visit, my Honda's AC was blowing warm air. Their A/C assessment was cheaper than the lower end of quotes I got from nearby reputable indie shops by more than 1/3rd. A few days later, I had fluid, and all 4 pads & rotors for the brakes replaced. I appreciate their lifetime replacement guarantee on certain wear and tear items (brake pads in my case), which adds up. Having some knowledge of cars and sitting in their waiting room and being able to listen in on the service advisor Marco's conversations with other customers, this particular Midas doesn't seem to be trying to pull tricks or needlessly upselling customers. Moreover, their pricing for oil changes for blends and synthetics seems incredibly low compared to competitors. Will definitely return at regular maintenance intervals. read more

(It might have been on Groupon). While I waited for my car to be serviced, I chatted with the store manager, David Zapata who offered me a free inspection and tire rotation with my oil change and even a phone charger when my battery was dying. He was very busy on the phone helping people find the best affordable options. I originally gave this place five stars because of the great customer service from Donald. That is, until later, when I realized the mechanic had gone through all of my personal stuff most likely trying to steal something. I recently saw a report on the news that talked about how often mechanics and valets etc. go through your glove compartment looking to steal things. So, I took pictures of both of my glove compartments before the oil change. After the oil change, everything in both glove compartments was turned upside down. I immediately brought the manager to my car and showed him the before pictures and showed them the two glove compartments. He said he would ask Donald in the morning who he gave my car to for the oil change. The next day, Donald called me back and said my glove compartments were disheveled because they do a brake check as part of the oil change and hit the brakes really hard. I let Donald know, to the extent that my personal belongings were turned upside down, it would have needed to be a high-speed head on collision for all my stuff to be upturned in the glove compartments. Donald then said there's nothing else he can do. I then filed a complaint with Midas Corporate and have heard nothing back from them In summary, do not take your car to this location or any other Midas location. They completed a very thorough full inspection of the car and even added dye/ cleaned the oil around the leak in order to pinpoint the area. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE customer service. I had my car dropped off earlier in the day for a battery replacement and I told them on the phone I'd be coming to pickup my car. Whoever I spoke to never asked me what time I was coming or when he would be leaving (apparently he's the only person who can do checkouts.. mechanic was clueless). I looked up online when they would close since this wasn't communicated to me and planned to come before their posted closing time. Unfortunately I got stuck in heavy traffic and saw that I would be getting to the shop 5 minutes after closing. It was an hour before closing that I noticed this. Since I hadn't gotten any call regarding a confirmation for my pickup that day, I called FIVE times to inform them that I would be arriving 5 minutes after closing to make sure that would be okay. No one picked up. This is when my situation occurs. I arrived to the shop where there was only one mechanic left and he shooed me away claiming that no one told him anything and that I needed to leave. He literally shut the garage door in my face. I explained to him that I had spoken to someone earlier that day and had told them I'm coming (how is it my problem there's a severe lack of communication in the workplace??) but he refused to listen. He said that the person in charge of checkouts was in Riverside and left an HOUR ago. So you have 6PM posted everywhere as your closing time but you leave at 5PM without informing customers of the situation?? He didn't offer any alternatives or help, I literally had to ask him REPEATEDLY to call the other person and to ask him but then he said he lost their phone numbers (which makes no sense). You don't have your coworkers numbers saved? What do you in case of emergencies?? To make matters worse, I saw more cars pull up and the mechanic take those cars into the garage (I thought you were closed ?) Extremely rude and unhelpful and a severe lack of customer service skills. The mechanic very obviously did not want to help and just wanted me gone. I told him I had important things in my car that I needed urgently and he just shrugged. He had zero empathy or understanding of my situation. I came the next morning at their posted opening time of 8AM and no was present in the office. I had to work at 9AM and was left waiting until someone would show up. They didn't show up until close to 8:45, resulting in me not only having to wait close to an hour, but also being late to work. The mechanics saw me waiting with a few other customers and made no effort to address the situation or keep us informed about an estimated arrival. As someone who works in customer service, that is NOT the way to treat people giving you business. To leave no communication and offer zero solutions is absolutely unacceptable and I will never be coming back to this location due to how I was treated here. It's sad because the person at the office is really nice and was the reason why I decided to even come back to this location. I will be cancelling my future appointments and will be going to another location from now on, even if it's a further drive. Avoid this location. Major inconvenience. Mechanics need severe training on handling customers. read more

I wish I knew the names of the two that specifically helped me but everyone I've come into contact with has been so kind. I had gotten tires out on at another shop after a blowout and it was an uncomfortable, drawn out experience where they had me continue coming back, overcharging me, and just not communicating to me very well. My tires were really unbalanced afterward and the alignment was off more than it's ever been. So my girlfriend made an appointment to get her oil changed... Yeah I know we could do it ourselves but it's just easier this way. She made an appointment and spoke to one of their employees about getting an oil change and there was a little miscommunication, but when I got there Henry was fantastic to deal with. I normally don't write reviews on car shop places because they can be hit or miss, but with that being said I think this place will get my business every time which is rare for most car places. Again I want to reiterate Henry is the only reason I'm writing this review. His positive attitude and the way he handled the conversation with me was better than 99.9% of places you'll go to regardless of cars, restaurants, or anything else you can think of. I had come in because my A/C was not blowing cold, after they had fixed it they had called me when I had called back and said I was coming right now the person over the phone said "it's up to you, you can pay the $150 or I flag your car" in a rude tone. When I received my car back they had parked it in the back so I went back to get it, I got in and the A/C was blowing cold but as I pulled off my front bumper was parked directly on the curb with no consideration whatsoever so it ripped apart the bottom of my front bumper, I looked around and noticed that other cars were also parked in the same manner. My front headlight was out and I kept putting it off because I wasn't sure where to get it fixed. The auto parts store suggested Midas. I went down that evening around 4pm, they close at 6, and they were so busy, so I just knew they would turn me away. But the guy at the desk was so nice and said to take it around back and they'd check it out to see if they had the headlight in stock. An hour later, they brought my car around and it was all done. They only charged me for the lightbulb! The employees there were so awesome and I appreciated them fitting me in last minute so much!!! While I was waiting I saw how great their customer service is and their prices are very reasonable too. I will be going back to this Midas for all my car needs in the future. 5 stars. I went here because of the $20 flat tire repair reviews. Sure enough it was $20 but you get what you pay for because all they did was use a plug. They did not patch it. So what happens a month later is that I now have a slow leak. I kindly asked for a refund but they said no. They said they could plug it again but that brings up safety concerns since it was already done the cheap fix way which basically rendered the tire useless. Isn't it surprising that a big chain like Midas does plug only repairs despite the safety concerns? Most likely the legal reason why they prefer cash for this repair and my invoice was blank.
