Joe seems like a good guy on the phone and I generally want to give people the benefit of the doubt - also this Midas location is close to my home. However, this morning I sat in front of their business for 45 minutes waiting for someone to open the shop at 8am. Yesterday, I was told by Joe that if I arrive between 7:30am - 7:45am, I could drop off my car and he would task someone to give me a ride home (less than 2 miles away). Arrived at 7:40am and departed at 8:10am. My time is too important to wait for a business that cannot open on time. In my opinion, It is the small things that matter and by this business not showing up in time to open their doors, they do not deserve my business. read more

I first came here because of their cheap oil change price of $24.95 with FREE tire rotation. The staff was really professional and friendly. After my oil change they noticed that my air filter was pretty messed up and offered to replace it free of labor. I would've replaced it myself but they offered to do it free of charge; i just paid for the part. I had a dangling stereo cable that i needed hooked up and I was going to do it myself but i didn't have time; they offered to do it too for FREE. So after work all I needed was to pick up a nut and a clamp for my stereo and it was like 6:00 and they said they would wait for me cause I needed to have my mount replaced and I told them I can just come by tomorrow, but they were nice enough to stay and wait until I was done at Home Depot. Russel was very nice and helpful and Efrin, the tech who worked on my car, did an excellent job hooking up my stereo cable again. These guys are awesome! I felt compelled to write a review because of how great of an experience I got coming here. I'll definitely be back again. Thanks for all the help guys! I am on here about this place again.........I LOVE IT!! I have now taken my van in TWO times and BOTH times they have helped me with things that are minor and they costed me very little. In fact, today I took my van in to see how much it would cost to get our A/C working so that it would be able to have to air coming into the van itself instead of coming in through the floor. He came out, took a look at it, found it was a wire that was disconnected, connected it, and charged me NOTHING to fix it! I LOVE THESE GUYS!! read more

These guys are great and super honest. I came in because my brakes were making a grinding noise for about a month and it seriously concerned my partner who drove with me often. It sounded like metal to metal but my car only has about 26K on it. I called them and they said they could take a look at it that day during my lunch hour. I took it in and they were confused since my brake pads still had more than the minimum thickness and the back brakes were fine. They explained how the sounds could be made and detailed all possibilities. I was still worried about the grinding sounds so since they were honest and did what they could to help me out quickly I told them to replace them (I had a few people drive in my car and all of them were concerned also with the loud grinding sounds). They gave me a great deal, did a great job and were super quick. I would go to them again since they work so hard on explaining everything in detail and how other dealers or mechanics try to rob you off your money. Only off one star because they are super busy and when the front is crowded it seemed a little disorganized and loud but seriously that has nothing to do with how well they do the job on the car and these guys are good! read more

if i could give this place negative stars, i would. came here about 4 times for an oil change when i used to live in irvine. after moving away, i took my car to my family's go-to auto guy and found out that it looked like the oil in my car hadn't been changed in over a year. they also told me repeatedly i need to change my breaks but later i found out that my breaks were still at 25% and 35%. i know i don't look like someone who knows a lot about cars (and i really don't), and that many auto shops will take advantage of this but i figured since they are a chain shop w/ a big name, they would be SOMEWHAT more reliable. i guess i am just naive. To be honest I was a little skeptical about coming to car shops Irvine since it might be pricey. My past experience was to get my car done in Santa Ana shady part of town so I can save a few bucks, but having to drive so far since I live in Irvine does not make sense. And the work is done without any warranty whatsovever. So I checked around several places and I went in to Midas Tustin for a free checkup. Not only the managements and tech are all knowledgeable about cars, they actually care about people too. In this day and age, it seem like everyone out there to ripped you a good one. But I have to be honest that after today, I do believe that there are honest hard working shops out there to win loyal customer. The manager Alan went out of his way to make sure that my car was checked and explained the necessary jobs, never any pressure on selling me anything that I don't need. Not only the price for my jobs was more than competitive they actually gave me a free oil change that I provided the parts. My dad's been coming here for years and I recently had them do the second oil change on my car. I asked them to look at my power steering because it's been making a rather annoying noise before my car is warmed up. Turns out I needed a new power steering pump which I expected to be very expensive. Not only did they do a great job but I don't see how I could have gotten a cheaper price. We recently had an oil change done at another Midas location at the SF Bay Area. Today we drove to LA, halfway through the journey the check engine light popped up. We found a Midas location at South Bristol but the guy whom we encountered blurted out that it's $65 to have the car checked and we would have to come back tomorrow because they close at 6 pm. That was like 4:51 pm and there seems to be no other customer in sight. We could be wrong he may have some appointments but he should have been nicer. We just traveled 6 hours straight and we did not deserve to be treated rudely. Anyway, right at their parking lot, we called another Midas location - this one at Eddinger Avenue. David answered our call pleasantly. We reached the place in 15 minutes. As soon as we parked, we were warmly greeted. It was a relief. David immediately plugged the computer and diagnosed the problem in under 5 minutes! He fixed the air filters and assured us that we should be fine. He didn't even charge for it. Now that is exceptional customer service! He said if anything happens, we can always come back to be sure. In general, an average experience. They were efficient and the oil change appointment started at the appointment time and took a little less than how long they said. Why I gave them two stars, 1) I tried their online appointment system twice and got no response; and 2) I called for their price on an oil change and was told $19.99 as what their banner said outside the station. BUT, because my car uses synthetic oil, it actually cost $53.42; a fact they failed to mention until the work was done. Getting charged over 150% of what I was told and what they advertise stings a lot and I will not be going back if I have to price check and verify the cost at every step along the way. read more

Midas is GOLDEN. Had trouble with my Dodge Charger and the pain in the butt issue that was resolved a year and a half earlier at Tuttle Click...happened again out of their service warranty. Thank goodness I called the guys at Midas who always take care of our family cars and they were able to take care of the issue helping ease the pain to the wallet. And if that wasn't enough...Marcos and his team even assisted with lending me a battery to get my car up and running to the service station at no extra cost to me. They go above and beyond and treat loyal customers with the utmost respect and dignity in making sure they get you where you need to go and not nickle and dime you every step of the way. My brakes were squeaking. I called Midas at 5:30 (they close at 6:00). Alan told me to bring my car in and they would check my brakes to make sure they were safe. I live nearby so I got there around 5:40. They checked out my car, gave me an estimate for front pads and rotors, did the repairs and I was on my way by 6:30! I have a nine month old baby so the manager Allan told me to come back after nap time and he would get me taken care of. After an accident the auto body shop sub contracted Pep Boys in Santa Ana to do mechanical repairs. We knew the car wasnt right and took to Midas.
