I was searching for a local brake shop to address some squeaky sounds coming from my Tesla Model 3. I reached out to several local shops over Yelp; very few responses came back, if any. I decided to give Midas a try. I scheduled a time online through their website, showed up on time, and went inside. The folks at the front desk were friendly and organized. They gave me a clear sense of how long it would take to do a brake inspection (about 1 hr) before they'd call me back. They also informed me I would get text message updates along the way. All of that was accurate. I walked down the street to a coffee shop while they were doing their inspection. They called me to let me know that my brakes were totally fine, and the squeak likely came from some dry piston in the rear. They offered to grease it up for me for a small fee. I want to note this moment: I was not there to look at the brakes. They could've called me and said all my pads needed replacement and it'd be $400. They didn't! They were honest about exactly what was needed in my case. A little moment of honesty like this is a way to get my business for life. Plus, they are communicative and their lobby is pretty clean (for a repair shop lobby). The restroom was also clean. Kind of remarkable. On May 13, 2026, at approximately 3:00 PM, I brought my vehicle in for an alignment and tire rotation, and the work was completed around 4:30 PM. While driving home, I noticed the front left tire rubbing against the fender liner, an issue that was not present before the service. I returned the next morning, May 14, 2026, at approximately 8:30 AM to explain the problem. The business owner became defensive and stated that he only removed the wheels and did not touch the fender liner. When I requested that the issue be addressed under warranty, he refused and said there would be an additional charge. I then agreed to pay to have the wheels returned to their original position, but he refused to work on my car and walked away. Throughout the interaction, the owner was disrespectful, condescending, and demonstrated poor customer service. I am escalating this matter to the California Bureau of Automotive Repair. ** Sam! I guess my only comment is what an a hole. My low oil light came on and they refused to do a top off. They would only do an oil change would not even look at it. I would highly recommend you find a nice dealer rather than an a hole. I'm 70 years old and remember when companies remembered what service was. These guys have no idea what it is three bays open nothing going on and can't help the customer top off because his oil light came off. Thank you for the explanation. Do not support this location. As a teacher, I will do my best to summarize my experience at this location. I may use fragments to get to the point. Rainy day. I went in for oilchange.WaiI was told it would be about an hour wait. No problem. Off my car went. I looked around the lobby... no chair. None. A guy was sitting on a coffee table. I decided to sit on the floor. The employee at the register saw me on the floor and said nothing. I left after my car was done, but called the store a few days later. I spoke to the owner, who also happened to be the same gentleman who saw me on the ground the day I came in for service. I shared my dismay, disbelief, and shock that an oil change business, where people have to wait until their cars were complete, had NO place for customers to sit. Let me share with you the list of excuses and gaslighting I listened to for nearly 15 minutes : you should have told me you needed a seat, the lobby is too small, some people don't mind sitting on the floor, there's a picnic table outside (it was raining), you should have left and found something to do, an employee has autoimmune issues and we don't want many people in our lobby... and on it went. When I brought up the very serious issue of providing a place to sit for the able- challenged community, he had nothing to say. There are many oil change locations here in Walnut Creek and in the surrounding areas. I sincerely hope you take my review into consideration before bringing your business here. As we teach our students... an apology goes a long way... as well as making it right. The owner, at no time, mentioned simple changes he would make in the future so that people could simply sit down as they waited. Never, at any time, did he give a sincere apology. The sales people although very nice will lie to you regarding warranty coverage to get you to purchase. They then make it difficult for you to use the warranty. The Owner Sam refused to listen to what I was telling him and preferred to stay the course on what he knows! Typical Narcissistic behavior. I am very disappointed with the quality of service I received at Midas today. I brought my 2014 Nissan Versa here for brake pads today and ended up almost crashing on the way home because of an error made by the mechanic. I brought my vehicle to this location today to have the brakes inspected and replaced. I called the number listed online and spoke to gentleman by the name of Rod. Rod said he could squeeze me in today but I would have to get the promptly, which I did. He said he would give me a call once the inspection is complete to inform me of his findings. After approx. 20minutes he called to inform me that the brakes and rotors needed to be replaced. He also informed me it would cost $572.85, which I agreed to. This seemed high to me compared to some of the other quotes I had seen online but today was my day off so I just wanted to get it done. After about four and a half hours Rod called me back to say that my vehicle was ready to be picked up. I had an Uber pick me up and drop me off at Midas. When I got to the register Rod said he didn't calculate the tax into the original quote he gave me so the total so the total actually ended up being $604.48. I found this to be a deceptive business tactic. If someone didn't have the money to pay for the extra tax Midas can legally keep your vehicle and charge you for every day they have store your vehicle while you try to figure out how to get the money. Long story short, I was on the way home and I heard a knocking sound almost like a jackhammer. I knew it must have been something they did to the car because it definitely was not making that sound when I dropped it off. The car was breaking fine but when I heard the sound I freaked out and slammed on the brakes to make sure they were working and almost got rear ended by the person behind me. I called Midas on the phone and told them what was happening and that I would be bringing it straight back. I was nervous to be driving it and considered having a tow truck take me back. When I got back they had me pull into the garage and they promptly started working on it. After about 10-15 minutes they had found the issue and resolved it. This was my first time in this establishment. I usually do my own vehicle services but was in town on a Tuesday to smash some tacos . I needed an oil change and found a great coupon so I stopped in to let these guys do the work and deal with the mess. I was greeted by Kevin in the lobby and he was super friendly attentive and professional. There was a brief issue with my coupon so Sam came to help and he was great too. There is a bar across the street so you can have a beer or two while waiting for your service. They call you when done. Close your bar tab and pick up the car super happy. I brought my wife's car in yesterday to get an oil change and have the tires rotated. I thought it was a little weird that not a single employee was not wearing a face mask even though the transactions happen indoors and you would think as a courtesy since they are entering your car all of the technicians would be wearing face masks as a safety precaution. That should have been the red flag to make me turn around and leave, but I made the mistake of leaving the car there and following through with the service. Before leaving the keys I specifically asked the person at the desk if a tire rotation was included as I knew the car really needed one. He said yes of course and he told me they would call me when the vehicle is ready. I get a call about an hour later telling me that the car is ready however they recommend that I change out the cabin air filter and the engine air filter to which I declined because I can easily do that myself. When I get back still no one is wearing masks I pay for my oil change and tire rotation and I get my receipt. When I get to the vehicle I inspect the tires and notice that they were not rotated, then I look at the detailed receipt only to find out that there were notes written in there that say no rotation. After complaining to the guy at the desk he told me I would have to wait another 15 minutes if I want the tires rotated but unfortunately I had did not have time, I had already waited the amount of time they told me it would take and I had to go pick up my daughter from daycare. It's disappointing that I did not get the services that I paid for. This was the second time I was ripped off on the tire rotation which is why I was very aware that it needed to be done this time. The first time they failed to do the tire rotation was a time I brought in a coupon so I just brushed it off as them not wanting to spend extra time on a service that was discounted. However this time around I spent $50 for a non-synthetic oil change so that should be more than enough to cover the 5 minutes it would take them to rotate the tires as well. Between the unprofessionalism and the lackluster service I will definitely not go back to this Midas ever again. read more

I have been a customer of Midas for 8+ years now. I had to jump on Yelp and provide my feedback on my latest visit & brake install. I am so impressed with how organized and customer service or oriented they are at this location. Most of my experience has been with the manager, Rod. He is usually the man that greets customers as they walk in and provides quotes. Rod has been there for 4+ years and has been great to work with. They don't try and " over sell" you on services you don't need, but they will provide recommendations on the things that need immediate or near term attention. I find that this Midas location is one of the best and its because of guys like Rod. They are honest, fair, and can fix just about anything on your car or truck. So, here we go. I have been going to Midas for about 6-7 years now and have come to know Rod and Sam quite well. I have been thoroughly pleased and satisfied with the quality of workmanship they have done on my Camry and Ranger. I've given them plenty of work over the years and I must say I have no plans on going anywhere else. I fully expect that they will keep up this HIGH quality workmanship and service as we continue this relationship with me and my vehicles. Awesome job Rod and Sam on the last brake repair and transmission flush you performed. The vehicle feels noticeably smoother and solid now. BRAVO!!!!! This place is your go to spot for an oil change. Anything else I'd suggest to go elsewhere. I was in an unusual situation visiting family and my radiator began leaking, leading my vehicle to overheat. I searched around and it being the weekend options were limited for the repair needed before driving back to Southern California. My husband took the vehicle in early on Saturday 10/22 he spoke with Rod once the car was evaluated and left the car for repairs. A few hours later it was ready so we thought. Once my husband went to pick up, he was informed that the sensor was damaged(said they would fix since they broke it) and they were missing a piece(bypass) for the radiator but we could still drive the car and IF WE wanted to fix the part they can order it. We decided we needed to fix the bypass since the car is still leaking coolant just as it was when we brought it in. My husband had to fly home for work. When I went in on Monday I had the absolute pleasure of meeting Rod. I was dismissed asked for the keys once he knew my husband wasn't there. Was the work not going to be communicated with me or the amount of time? No so I followed him to ask. He quoted me 1hr. I had also asked about my maintenance light being left on and if they had figured out why it was on. "Oh the light is on? Was it on before?" Asked Rod and I replied "no it wasn't on when we brought it in on Saturday and you had told my husband your guys broke it while replacing the radiator." He then followed up with "well I have a mechanic in tomorrow that can take a look at it and diagnose the problem but the code that came up was for the radiator." Ummm so you did in fact know the light was on and knew the code that registered but didn't do anything about it. Got it! I left and came back a little over an hour later. When speaking to Rod about the bypass he tried to sell me another radiator from the manufacturer and would give us a credit towards the part. Was your work bot done properly? Why wouldn't you have started with that option? He also was speaking to me as if I was not knowledgeable about cars. So for anyone that doesn't know about their vehicles good luck. Once I refused the second radiator he told me "this car caused me so many issues and made me have to call so many places, had I known how much trouble it would be I would've refused to work on it. Just not worth it." I asked to pay and apologized for causing him so much trouble. When I went to get my car the hood was left open, running and parked up on the side. As I go to check the work myself here comes Rod. "We'll, had we known you'd be here so early it would've been ready." I was in line waiting to pay for a good 10mins how did you not know I was there? Again, is the work not going to be shown or explained? What are we paying for if we are such an inconvenience? I just picked up my car. They replaced all my brake pads and rotors. Driving my car hasn't felt this way in so long. I'm quite happy. For years my car rattled when I'd break at speeds over 60mph. No matter where I took it, and even through several brake changes, they couldn't figure out why. The cost of everything actually turned out to be more affordable than I anticipated it would be. At least for me it was... But the service was worth it. I am approaching 100k miles and need the peace of mind. And it was quickly done. When I came back to pick up, someone just returned from a final test drive. Very nice. Maybe my bar is low, but I was impressed by that. Not just "pulling things apart and putting it back together" without making sure it's right. The man at the front who helped me from beginning to end was excellent. Truly sorry I forgot his name. This is my go to auto shop for regular maintenance. This time, I made a last minute decision to drive in for an oil change. It was late morning during the week. They were able to take my car almost immediately and since I've been in before, all of my info and my car's info was already on file and made the process of checking in pretty quick. It took about 10-15 minutes for the oil change AND tire rotation (something they don't do at another chain establishment) and I was on my way. All of the employees were wearing masks and all of us customers have subconsciously learned to mask and social distance, even though there were signs and marks on the floor to indicate this. Few years back I was directed to talk to Rod from a good friend and I couldn't have been happier from that day forward with tire purchases from him. I have 2 Honda's that I track race and finding tires for those can be very difficult and very pricey at times. Rod was able to get me a full set of Hankook track tires for one of my track cars when I couldn't find them anywhere for the same price and service. I then had an issue with my other track car and needed to get at least 2 new track tires on very short notice and when current stock of track tires was very low due to the season being over and fulfillment issues as I'm sure we've all probably seen from our current state of the country. He was able to find me what I was looking for AND as usual, at a perfect price point. So we come to now (Feb 2022), we needed some new tires on our older SUV. Knowing that I was probably going to be somewhere around the $1k mark or more for all 4 new tires on that vehicle got me to shopping around which led me right back to both Rod and possibly another big name local shop that happened to have what I was looking for. Now understand that the big name shop had the exact same tires that Rod was suggesting after a bit of conversation with him for at least $170 less than what Rod could do. I had specifically asked him if I could stay around $200 per tire if possible and if not, it would be ok for the right size, style, brand etc. if it came down to it. What Rod had suggested was that I even go elsewhere to see if they possibly had what I wanted cheaper which didn't say to me he didn't want my business, in fact it actually meant somewhat the opposite. He wanted us to be happy with what we wanted to pay and what we got, period. In my mind I had no problems with that but, in the end we wanted to give Rod the return business because as per usual, he got what we wanted and they were mounted & balanced in under 24 hours. So, without hesitation he also found a way to get the price even lower after all was said and done we ended up paying less than the big name shop because he looked for whatever deals & discounts he could find for us. Well now we come to what usually would be the end of this review, nope! That same day, in fact within the same hour I got the vehicle home from getting our SUV taken care of, my wife noticed a bolt in the NEW TIRE! Yes there was a hole and yes air was leaking out. So I did what anyone would do, call Rod! I explained what happened and his response "bring it back here right now"! Of course I went back and took care of the issue however, I believe I will be now adding the warranty on them to say the least, lol! Again, I couldn't ask for more customer service from a business and an individual who obviously works hard to keep his customers happy. I believe in this current time and any time for that matter, individuals and businesses who provide service like this should be well commended for the their efforts and well recognized for it! Recently needed to get tires for my 77 C10 and first tried Costco, got turned away because it's "modified and lowered". Which this absolutely killed all my weekend plans. That is until I was suggested to talk to Rod at Midas. He had to order the tires and found the exact tires I needed and had them ready to go on hand before I even showed up. With such a fast turn around in getting my tires done I was able to keep my plans for the weekend. Absolutely amazing customer service and super communicative. Highly recommend this shop!! Came here today without an appointment to have my tires looked at. I usually deal with Rob and have been for the past 10 plus years. However, today I was assisted by Sam "the owner." I'm glad I was able to get in as a walk in (plus 1 star) Sam and Donnie answered all my questions (plus 1 star). Nonetheless, I was initially told that one of my tires the tread looked like someone or something had sliced it. Then after receiving the quote I was told that the tire in front of the problem tread tire also needed to be replaced. Now the aforementioned insinuates that it's a front and rear tire that needed replacement. However AFTER the work was completed I was informed that it was the two REAR tires that were replaced. Usually they will offer some type of coupon given customer loyalty. But today for one strange reason was not the day. CONFUSING (minus 1 star). Sam also made sure to inform me that he "does not make money off of tires.. only making $40 off of this." Cool- but that has nothing to do with customer service and satisfaction (minus 1 star). As mentioned I've been a customer for over 10 years at this Midas. Maybe today was an off day considering the police were there because of a theft. I don't know.
