I made an appointment for 11:00am took my truck in and told them I needed it back that day and they were only to fix brakes and leaking tire. Guy calls me and said they were going to have to order a replacement tire and I said fine then but I needed my truck back that day and he said ok he would call me back but never did, I had to call them at 5:00pm and they asked to keep my truck overnight and I replied no then he said they would have it ready for me at 5:30pm. I went to pick it up and absolutely nothing was done to it no brake work no new tire or anything!!! They had my truck for 6 hours and did nothing to it and tried to keep it overnight. Unfortunately there's no option to select not any stars so one will have to do... Friday, May 3rd we took our Audi to get an oil change by Midas, located at 224 US-34 Yorkville, IL 60560. Within an hour of picking the car up afterwards, the car had completely emptied of oil. The car began to make very obvious damaging sounds. By time this happened, Midas was already closed. My husband was able to get ahold of someone higher up in the company who advised us to get the car to their shop and have it there so they can resolve the issue the following Monday when they opened back up. CHRIS BALL (employee at Midas) communicated that we'd be fully refunded (which we did) and they'd re-do the oil change. Management at Midas gave my husband a written statement saying any internal damages that may occur due to this oil change mishap would be covered by Midas. Fast forward exactly a month later, on June 2nd the car began to idle and it was no longer able to be driven. We had it towed to an auto body shop in another town who actually knows how to work on expensive vehicles. After a very thorough inspection, this professional auto shop found metal scraps in the oil (done by Midas) and a blown engine. *mind you - this car has NEVER had any mechanical issues of any sort!!!* All of this information was passed onto Midas who passed it along to their insurance (West Bend). Midas's insurance sent an inspector out to the auto shop where the vehicle was towed to and inspected the Audi. The Audi was then towed again out to an Audi dealership to have the vehicle inspected even further and determine the costs for the damage, done by Midas. The Audi dealership also confirmed the vehicle needed a new engine and they gave us the costs for a used engine. Midas and their insurance company were extremely hard to get any answers out of so there was little to no action on their end aside from sending an inspector out to both locations - where the car was first towed and where the car now is and has been for months. Long story short - this has gone on for over four months now and Midas has denied any responsibility for the damages made. Their insurance tried to claim that it was a "timing chain" issue that caused the engine to blow. When NO ONE from the first auto shop who inspected the car nor any one from the AUDI dealership claimed that to be the case - we followed up with both companies and neither of them referenced a timing chain issue. It is directly pointed to the washer and drain plug damage that caused oil to leak into the engine. The amount of money we have had to front to cover vehicle rentals, diagnostics done, and more is terrible - let alone paying for attorneys. Unfortunately the one and only reason we have not been able to move forward with filing a law suit is due to the costs. Not to mention this car was my grandparents car who suddenly passed away 2 years ago. I had the privilege of purchasing this car from their estate about a year ago - just to no longer be able to keep it anymore. We have contacted HR for Midas and explained everything once again and the only response we have gotten is "sorry..nothing we can do"... its so unfortunate to have an unethical and unprincipled business like this in our town. I hope this never happens to anyone else. Please share this experience with anyone you know who goes here or is ever looking for any vehicle repairs/maintenance. Biggest regret is taking this amazing car to an incompetent auto body shop in the first place. read more

It seemed odd because I had been driving my car around all morning and had zero problems. I get it, things get old and worn out and they break however I talked with a family friend that works at Demsey and she said a "trick" is to slam on the breaks extremely hard and if there is a weaker spot in the line it will rupture when it otherwise wouldn't. All the times I took my cars here I never felt like they were dishonest or trying to take advantage of me, but that has all changed. I won't be back. read more

I discovered the weirdest thing the other day at Yorkville Midas, straight from one of the guy's own mouth. He told me that he needs to call me up to ask for something he knows I need, that's supposed to be apart of the procedure I'm already paying for because he's going to ask me to pay for that. It's like double dipping. My husband took my car in to get my winter tires put on and in the middle of it the called him up to "inform" us that the tires also have to be balanced, and that it's a separate charge? That seems weird! If your "expert advice" is that it needs to be done so that my car will function properly then why are you calling me and why is it an extra charge? You should have heard him. I walk in and I tell him "my car isn't running properly; it's wobbling when I drive." And he says "well, wait a minute, what's the name?" I tell him the name, he looks it up and asks, "which car is it?" and I'm like "I don't know, a Honda, a Sonata, I have no idea! I'm a girl!!!" And when he looks it up he says, "I know this car" and he scoffs, and says something to the effect of "I knew that was going to happen. I thought it was odd that your husband said no to getting them balanced" And then I said, "I told him to turn it down because you guys are always up-charging us every time we come in here lately. Every two hours you guys are calling with an 'urgent sounding' this gotta get done, this gotta get done. The last time you guys took our whole paycheck." Then he went to this whole speech about inflation, and the Yorkville is expensive." And he saw that I was huffin' and puffin' because everything he was saying was EMPTY lip service, so I responded by telling him "I don't know what power I have but I'm going to find some agency to investigate this place. My gut smells something fishy here." Then he told me that I would have to pay 20 dollars after it was done and that he would call my husband when it's ready for pick up. I walked home. An hour and 38 minutes later my husband tells me the car is done and I go to pick it up. When I was walking into the door he was already getting my keys for me and met me halfway. I couldn't help telling him that I'm wondering if I write a review of my experience how many people would agree that there getting up-charged every two hours. When we first started going to them they "seemed" like honest people, then there was a shift, and they were doing awful work. My husband wrote a bad review and we stopped going there for years but our usual mechanic is located in Oswego therefore it's not always convenient plus he's limited on his services. When we came back at first it seemed really good, but I think that's one of their tricks. They boil you slowly. These guys are sneaky. He let me drive a car that he knew wasn't functioning properly and deprived my car (and safety) to a piece of service that was SUPPOSED to be done????? read more

These guys are scammers! Terrible experience all the way around. I was quoted 69.99 for a full synthetic oil change. When I picked up the car, the cost had jumped from 69.99 to 79.99. The manager told me that all prices have went up. Really? I hadn't noticed! He's is the master of the obvious. Prices are up, but shouldn't jump $10 from what you are quoted. They also pulled the emergency brake and didn't inform me. Needless to say I figured it out when I pulled away. The manager is a condescending jerk. I would never do business at this Midas again. I'm new to the area and needed an oil change and tire rotation. Also heard some rubbing noises coming from the passenger front brake. Initially I took this to the local dealership, they said they didn't hear anything... it was very noticeable! That's what brought me to you guys. Spoke to Rob and he was very helpful, knowledgeable, and upfront about costs and timeframes. Long story short, I'll be back in the future and I'll make sure I take my wife's car here as well. I needed my car diagnosed so I left it with Chris and his team. I knew I had the CarMax warranty so I left all the information with him in case he needed it. It turned out that CarMax required the car to be fixed at their service center, So Chris took time out of his day with no commission and contacted CarMax to get it towed. The process had issues which forced multiple phone calls between Chris, CarMax and I. It doesn't seem like much, but him being so pleasant through the whole process while I was at work was fantastic. Chris did a great job keeping me updated and getting the issue resolved and I was very satisfied. I appreciate the fantastic customer service especially since he did if for free. read more

We stopped here on a Saturday to repair a muffler pipe that had broken due to age and vibration, probably due to crossing a lot of train tracks. The service man was very helpful and polite. When they did the inspection, they gave an option to take that clamp out and weld it direct with a piece. This allowed the stainless steel system to remain in place, and not have to deal with a new muffler each year. Obviously, it was the best choice for us, but not for them to make money. I will go back next time something happens with the exhaust system. read more

They have always taken good care of me at a reasonable price, even going above and beyond when I need it- today I needed a last-minute muffler fix before a long trip, and they came in early to get it done. They don't bug me on a list of upsell items like other places ("You need a new air filter with every oil change. You should rotate your tires. You need a transmission flush.
