I absolutely love Middle Child's sister restaurants so I was excited to try their upscale brunch concept. I've eaten at Middle Child twice now, 1st time having the Surf & Turf Benedict and the 2nd time having the Chesapeake Benedict. My friend had the Lobster Benedict with shaved truffle. I'm scoring the restaurant a 3, because while the ambiance and service are bright and welcoming, the Benedict dishes are all completely submerged in the thickest hollandaise. Unfortunately, this drowns out any distinct flavors the dishes may offer, especially disappointing considering one boasts shaved truffle. Think of sitting down to enjoy a nice prime rib, but first you have to fish it out of bowl of ketchup. It'll likely be difficult for you to enjoy the flavor of the beef or crisp sear. I'll have to try something else next time. I recommend Middle Child but don't get any of the bennies. read more

For it to be a mid-day eatery the menu was amazing, pretty much covered any dish and all flavor profiles for a wide variety of taste buds. I know we get tired of the same ol brunch menu sometimes. We ordered: CHARBROILED OYSTERS - probably the best thing. It wasn't full of cheese and junk, oysters are a nice size, buttery perfection MUSSELS - the broth reminded me of clam chowder and it actually went perfectly with the mussels CRABCAKE - the remoulade was really tasty and crab cake was full of crab STEAK FRITES - classic, I thought the sauce could've used a little more punch and steak could've been more seasoned, the fries were perfect LOBSTER TRUFFLE BENNY - they do not skimp on lobster!! This was so good, the hollandaise could've used a little more salt SHRIMP & GRITS - the portion is small they only give you 2 shrimps but I've never had grits as flavorful as these FLAN RICE PUDDING - why have I never thought of this?? Went last night for dinner, service was very slow took 25 min to get my cocktail, we order the prime rib, medium rare and it came out well done, chewy and dry, we sent it back, then waiter brought another order and that one was even worse, it was even more well done and charred so we sent it back again and just gave up. My wife and I had wonderful experiences at Middle Child. The restaurant has a beautiful upscale decor and tasteful finishes. Our service and friendly, attentive and open to discussion suggestions. We enjoyed our 1st experience so much that we made a 2nd visit. Both visits we ordered the octopus carpaccio. The plate was slightly altered on the 2nd visit but it was still very delicious. We are espresso martini fans which did not disappoint. We also ordered the Chicken and Waffles. The crunch on the chicken was good and the waffle was delicious, but the chicken was slightly dry and needed more seasoning/spice which would have taken it out of the park. The Steak Frites may have only been on a special menu which we ordered on our 1st visit. I did expect more from the steak since this is a sister company of Herbs & Rye. Although cooked how I like it, the steak just needed a little salt. The Fish & Chips were all around AMAZING. This place is definitely a MUST VISIT. read more

Really Great Servers that Tended to us. Gave us the break down who the sister Restaurants are, constantly checked up on us to make sure we were okay , and even helped us with a side quest of getting us some sliced jalapeños. It was mentioned that they were still tweaking the menu and they were still pretty new. The crab cake was really good no complaints there. The soft shell sandwich needed something extra , I put some jalapeños in it and it helped bring it together . The bone marrow with biscuit and gravy was huge . Fell a little short for the Mr. Since that's his go to meal for breakfast spots. Maybe add something else to make it good. I loved everything about this. The brunch was the best I've ever had, and I get dragged to a lot of brunches. The coffee was excellent, and the flavored drinks were subtle and not overly sweet- which was great. Each dish was good and all different. Located next door to Cleaver the restaurant is beautiful with a modern contemporary design inside. Started with the Irish Coffee and Green Goblin frozen cocktails and they definitely held up to the high standards of their older siblings. Started with the Charbroiled Oysters and Escargot and Octopus Carpaccio and these were all phenomenal! Then moved on to the Uni Spaghetti and Surf and Turf Benny and these were amazing as well. As much as I would love to give this restaurant a good review because I really like Herbs and Rye and Cleavers, which is the same owners I understand ..it was really not a great experience. First off. I never went to a restaurant that has no highchairs or booster seats What were we supposed to do with a one year-old? The manager said they don't have that kind of clientele what kind of clientele children ? because it's open for breakfast lunch and dinner so they better reconsider getting some high chairs in the place or they're going to lose a lot of business ..My son had to bring the highchair from his house to put the baby in. But if we were on vacation that would obviously be a problem .We went for my son's birthday. They told me they would charge me $25 extra to bring a cake even though they didn't have cake for me to buy from them so we could sing Happy Birthday they said they would cut it up. I did bring it but we ended up cutting it up as they never returned to do that .. The food was OK nothing extravagant.. the service as much as our waiter was very nice and he tried but had a lot to be desired . I had to constantly ask them to pick up the dishes , to take away the menus, to take the extra empty glasses off the table so we would have some room with 8 people . The cocktails came with no garnishes & when my son mentioned it the waiter was surprised to hear that the drink he ordered should have had it .. There was so much help walking around in a group standing together but nobody knew what to do. If took them 15 min & put all their heads together to figure out how to put 2 candles on the cake There was not many tables in the place as it was about 11 AM on Sunday morning and there was maybe five occupied tables or so in the place so it was very empty ..they really need good management to get them training on what to do and how to clear tables and help customers without having to ask for it .. The menu is very limited & The waiter told me I could get the prime rib sandwich rare but then he came back and said no i could only get it well done because they shave it so they only have well done even though they advertised they were gonna start having prime rib at their brunch on Sundays which is the reason we chose that Place to start with ..I ended up switching to some provolone and cheese sandwich. Not exactly what I was looking for especially at a Sunday brunch, the steak tar tar was not well-made. It was kind of dry with not a lot of flavor & the octopus was very bland just lying under greens the prosciutto and cheese was good probably the best thing we had ..so I will give them credit for that ..but out out of the eight of us. Nobody raved about their meal and no one wants to go back. I think we're spoiled from herbs and rye. It is a nice clean place, but it definitely needs some structure as far as service and menu choices. The drinks were perfection as well. Espresso Martini delicious and frothy. Escargot buttery, garlicky morsels. I had the decadent Bone Marrow Biscuits and Gravy. Really, really good. My husband had the Chicken and Waffles, yum! I tried his and dipped it a little in my gravy. Sooooooo good! Check it out! Worth the step off the strip! Edit: We came back for a second time and pleasantly got the same server that we had previous. We told him we had a show to catch so he notified his wait staff as well. They got us in and out in a timely manner and kept our showtime in mind. We ordered the Caesar salad, baked potato, mushroom gnocchi, and prime ribe. We would order the mushroom gnocchi and prime rib again! We were excited to try this new spot on its first public dinner night. While we enjoyed aspects of our meal, a few points could be refined for an even better experience. The wedge salad was fresh but could use a touch more dressing . Our prime rib was flavorful, but the simultaneous arrival of all courses meant it didn't stay warm for long. Better pacing of dishes would significantly enhance the dining experience. The table we were seated at felt quite small, which could be a challenge for larger parties. It was also a little disappointing to be told booths were unavailable when many appeared open at the start of our reservation. We appreciated the warm and inviting ambiance, and the quiet piano music created a lovely backdrop for conversation. However, we did observe some kitchen inefficiencies, specifically dishes waiting under a heat lamp for an extended time. While the staff was abundant, their attentiveness sometimes bordered on feeling a bit too close. I'm a huge fan of Cleaver and was excited to learn that a day time restaurant belonging to the same group was opening up next door! I invited my friend to brunch and we had a fantastic time! The space was clean, bright, and airy. The staff is polite and super helpful when it comes to questions about the menu. My friend and I shared the Bone Marrow Biscuits and Gravy and the Chesapeake Eggs Benedict. I'd never had bone marrow before so I was a little nervous but the marrow itself was actually delicious! Honestly, the only think I didn't enjoy about this dish was the biscuit. I was expecting something a bit fluffier, similar to a traditional biscuits and gravy dish, but it more dense like a slice of bread that a biscuit. The Benny was insanely delicious and the little fries they come with were so good! While my friend is sober, I got a couple of drinks - the Maracuya and the House Spritz. Things that were decent but we wouldn't order again: surf & turf benny (we asked for med rare but the steak was definitely med well... probably continued to cook under all the hollandaise sauce) and Uni Spaghetti (pasta was not al dente and overall needed stronger uni flavor and salt!). Ordered the lobster and seasonal truffle Benedict (see photo) $35. Nice 3 large chunks of stacked lobster, real truffle flakes at-top spinach and muffin topped with Benedict sauce. It was great and left me wishing I had more. The "chips" fried potatoes were very unique and delicious. Fried chicken was delicious and ordered separately from the waffles. Waiter was accommodating to the modification. Orange juice could have been fresh squeezed. Overall a great meal away from the overpriced and overrated strip. First time at middle child, the complex on paradise that houses the likes of marrakesh, cleaver etc. Bright welcoming restaurant perfect for breakfast / lunch.. sat down for a meeting. Ordered the surf n turf that one came with potato chips. To my pleasant surprise , the potato chips were perfectly crisp French fries that resemble potato chips. The steak was cooked to perfection as was the poached egg The service was on point, water being refreshed quickly without asking.. as soon as our meals finished it was rapidly removed from the table. 5/5. The service was spot on the were great with kids and being undecided on ordering I ended up getting the cheeseburger that was black. (The buns). Cooked exactly how I requested with quick timing. The chicken and waffles were the best I've had in Vegas so far. You can view into the kitchen as it's an open dining area with the cooks in view adds to the experience. The place is clean with lots of lighting for a morning brunch. Prices were reasonable I guess they could be higher. The Setting of the restaurant is so inviting and just a beauty of a restaurant. We had reservations which I do recommend if you decide to go. From the ordering of drinks and appetizers and our meal it was above and beyond in every aspect of how a restaurant should be ran. Dinner was amazing. We ordered 2 different cuts of prime rib which was cooked to perfection and served with 2 ordered sides which was delicious.
