I have been taking my car to Middletown Car Care for a few years now and will NEVER go anywhere else. The employees are very friendly and knowledgeable and the owner has always gone above and beyond every time I have needed repairs. They have always greeted me and my children with a smile and genuine concern every time I have come in. Because I only have one car for my family, the staff at MCC have driven me home while they did the repairs, instead of me sitting in the waiting room with my 3 children. Sean has also stayed after hours to complete the job so I could have my car back the same day. I have even called Sean on the weekend and he rushed to my "rescue" by calling a tow truck and giving me and my family a ride back home. No other business would ever do that for their customers!!! Before completing any work, either one of the mechanics or the receptionist will call to explain everything in detail and give the price over the phone. The price has always been more than reasonable and if you cannot afford all of the work done at once, they will prioritize the problems and only fix what is necessary. I have used Middletown Car Care for the past couple of years and in my family we have several cars.. I have come to trust and appreciate the service that Sean and his crew give me. He is honest in his concerns and makes a point to let you know the lowdown up front. I had recently brought my car in for a flat tire and he not only took care of the flat tire he advised me that I would probably need a new tire because of the location of the plug/patch that he repaired. He also filled my spare tire up with no cost. Just one of his many repairs he has done / repaired lights / breaks etc and done with professionalism. I am glad he is in our town, he gives us a good name.. I recommend him to all my friends... Note: It is a small business but the atmosphere is very family oriented. My Toyota Tacoma 2002 was plagued by the check engine light. Price Toyota tried to fix it twice on two different visits. They never could figure out the problem. After hundreds of dollars down the drain I decided to try this local repair shop. I heard good things about the place but never went. Out of frustration I was willing to do anything to get this thing fixed. During my visit I quickly noticed that it has a true mom & pop feel to it. I was amazed at how the mechanic Sean would take so much time with elderly customers to help them understand the problems with their vehicle. It was as if he was teaching a mechanics class. I being in the medical field was also surprised to hear him using heart analogies with these customers. I noticed 3 mechanics on duty and they all seemed friendly and competent. They diagnosed and fixed the problem on the first go and It turned out that I needed a new catalytic converter and upstream oxygen sensor. I've since went back with my Honda Odyssey and still got great service. If you want very competent mechanics with honesty and that mom & pop feel I highly recommend you check it out. My vehicle died at the gas pumps next door. Sean, the owner took the time to come over and look at it. He told me that if the chip in my key wasn't the problem, there was a switch that was most likely dead. He looked up my vin# and called someone he knew at the local dealer to confirm it would be a warranty repair. Then he got the emergency towing service number from that dealer and passed on my name and number so the dealer would have it when they came in the next morning to find my vehicle in their lot. He invited me to stay in his warm waiting room while I waited for a friend to give me a ride. While waiting, I was impressed at how the staff treated customers - explaining in detail the work that needed to be done, and doing their best to try to accommodate a customer's schedule. Middletown Car Care has been taking care of our cars for years. I originally found them because my dealer told me I needed a $1,700 repair when my engine light came on. Sean fixed it for $70. They are always friendly and helpful and will try to fit you in when your time is tight. I once failed an inspection, drove directly here, they fixed my problem on the spot and I turned around and went back to the DMV and got back in line. Another time they stayed late to fix a problem because I was leaving for vacation in the morning. They tell you what you need to have done immediately, what can wait and if there is a way to do something cheaper. They are honest and go the extra mile to help. Off the charts service!!! I was passing through Middletown Delaware after a rock from a truck hit and knocked out my aft rear passenger window. I stopped at Middletown Car Care on my way to Maryland for some tape and a trash bag to cover the opening in my window. Sean stopped what he was doing and came out to help me. He went "above and beyond!" I told him about my trash bag idea and he wouldn't hear of it. He said, I am going to do this right for you. I don't think I have ever met a more kind,compassionate and helpful person. He vacuumed my car and took the time to measure and cut a piece of cardboard to put over the opening in my window frame. Shawn (the owner) treated me like I was an old dear friend and made sure my car was fixed within a few hours. His whole staff goes above and beyond to be personable and respectful. We pulled into the first place we could find... fortunately for us it was Middletown Car Care at 50 E. Main Street in Middletown DE. Sean the owner could not have been nicer or more helpful. He quickly identified the correct oil for my car, filled it to the correct level and told me how to properly maintain the car in the future and before sending us on our way Sean recommended some wonderful restaurants we could hit when we got to St. Michaels. After visiting my dad in the hospital on and off for the last 2 weeks in Delaware, we heard a thumping noise under our car as we headed back to NYC. Having family in Middletown, I often bring my car to Middletown Car Care when visiting. I find them to be extremely conscientious and concerned for both me and my car. I have never been disappointed or surprised with the cost,or the time required for maintenance or repair. I have seen the shop owner who is also the chief mechanic in the shop before 6 AM working to repair a car. That says a lot! Without a doubt a quality company that puts time and dedication to making sure that their customers are taken care of. Recently I had a bolt on my battery that had corroded and needed to be cleaned and reassembled for the car to able to start without any assistance. He was even aware of her financial situation and tried to work with her as much as he could. He even has offered to help find her tires that she can afford but still be safe for to drive with her daughter in the car.
