I dropped my car off for an oil change and a tire rotation early in the morning before the shop opened. So when I did not get a call by 4 pm. I went and asked was my vehicle done. When I arrived my vehicle was ready. I was not able to get my vehicle until the next day because this was my second vehicle and it was only me. So when I came back and started up my car. I had a big warning sign on pop-up on my screen DRIVE TRAIN MALFUNCTION. Drive moderately. I call Mr. Tire and asked why no one saw this warning. The man at the center said that it was no note in the system stating that there was any problems. First no one called me all day about my car and now my car has a malfunction. This place use to be great and I had no problems. Now it is a horrible place to bring your car. I now need to find a new place to take my car. read more

Zero Star go to at your own risk. Tire went flat on my van, removed tire in my driveway at brought the tire to Mr. Tire to be replaced because there was a hole in the sidewall. My regular tire company did not have the tire in stock and I needed a quick turn around on my van. I was quoted a price of $125.00 to replace the tire so I had it done. When I returned to pick up the tire(only the tire), I was told the price was $220.00. I questioned the increase and the price was immediately reduced to $170.00. With the adding of the "insurance" and changing fee I just paid it. The problem came when Mr. Tire told me that they did not have the correct sensor to replace in the tire. I was told that this was necessary due to that the stem was supposedly "clogged". This didn't make sense because my daughter and I filled the tire with air to find the hole, but I thought it was part of their tire service. Mr. Tire replaced the sensor and sent me home with a regular stem and told me to come back tomorrow and Mr. Tire would swap it out. Ok...fine that is what i did. Once a sensor is replaced it takes a while for the computer to reset and was told to drive the car around for a day or two to get the computer to reset. The computer wouldn't reset so I went back to Mr. Tire. Please note prior to this the Tire Pressure Maintenance System (TPMS) system worked on the van...no problems what so ever. Mr. Tire claimed that "their" sensor worked fine and all the other sensors were bad and said it would be $263.00 to replace the remaining 3 sensors.....I refused the work. When I questioned all the other billing irregularities I was told to the F*** out of the store and never come back. Do not go, do not trust, do not take your car to Mr. Tire.... you have been warned. *Update* I called Monro the parent company of Mr. Tire and explained what happened. I asked if I could get the original sensor back and they said yes. So I went back to Mr. Tire with my son (so I behaved) and demanded the parts taken off my car back. I was handed the sensor but the original tire stem had disappeared. Remember that this tire stem was supposedly "clogged" and had to be replaced even though my daughter and I filled the tire 30 minutes earlier to find the leak. Then a lengthy argument started when I refused to let Mr. Tire to fix the car because I did not trust them. I was yelled at that Mr. Tire installed a $160.00 sensor in the tire which I found funny because a new sensor for my van from Kia is $51.00 or 4 could be bought at a local parts shop for $60.00. After enlightening Mr. Tire of this information I was told to get the F*** out of the store again. Took the original sensor to a shop I trusted minus the stem, they had the appropriate replacement stem and reinstalled the sensor back into the tire. The TPMS light immediately turned off, the computer recognized all the sensors, and the van was happy again. In conclusion, DO NOT GO TO MR. TIRE in Middletown Delaware. They will create a problem of their own doing, quote you a price to fix it and then simply reinstall the part they replaced with the original they took out of your car cheat you out of your money. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED...PROCEED AT YOUR OWN RISK!!! read more

Very happy with service at this mr tire. I had a flat tire on Saturday in my Tesla model 3. I called Tesla assurance and the only option was for car to be towed to Tesla shop in Wilmington (30 miles away). This was closed on weekend and the earliest I would get the tire fixed was Monday evening. I called mr tire. They were open Saturday and Sunday. I had to tow the car to the shop but they were ready and promptly fixed my tire with a smile. No upselling. No gimmmics. The tech and front desk were courteous and prompt and took care of me!! I'm a fan and will definitely be using them for my vehicle needs. They were knowledgeable about Tesla and had all the equipment including a special "puck" to attach to my chassis to lift the car. I would give them less than one star if I could..I purchased tires from Tire Rack and they were listed as a certified installer. They did not call me to let me know my tires were delivered. I called them and scheduled an appointment for Monday @9am. I arrived at the shop to find it closed and a number of people waiting for their 7:30am appointments. I then called Mr. Tire corporate headquarters and lodged a complaint and I also called Tire Rack to let them know the situation. This is no way to run a business and I will NEVER go back there. I'm getting my tires shipped somewhere else. I just noticed that my review was responded to by corporate. I did call corporate headquarter customer service where my complaint was passed on to the district manager. I am interested to see if they follow up. I've been going to Mr. Tire for 15 years-a few weeks ago I needed new tires. I went into Mr. Tire and spoke to Hal. He needed a day to get special ordered tires for my car knowing that the front rims were smaller than the rear ones. The next day, the installation lasted hours longer than quoted. When I went to pick up the car, Hal told me there was an issue on the front passenger side and I should take it to my mechanic. There was no such problem before I dropped off the car that morning. I tested the car and a loud rubbing sound came from the passenger sider wheel well. The car was underivable and I had it towed to my mechanic. He did a diagnostic (at a $65.00 cost) and explained that Mr. Tire had moved the rims from front to back. Subsequently, the larger tires meant for the rear were rubbing the front wheel wells. I called Mr. Tire to express my concern and they told me to have the car towed to the shop and they'll fix the problem. The car was towed the following day. I mentioned to Hal that I'd like to be compensated for the $65.00 incurred diagnosing Mr. Tire's mistake. Hal said that was above his "pay grade" and I should talk to the manager, Chris (he would be in tomorrow). The next day, I went in spoke to Chris. I explained the situation and he asked that I give him a few days top talk to his team about what happened. He agreed to call me in a few days after he could figure out what went wrong. Chris never called me back. Two weeks later, I walked into Mr. Tire and spoke to Chris. He initially did not remember me or was playing dumb. I refreshed his memory and that he did not keep his word about calling me back. He did not apologized just mentioning how busy he was. He did say that he spoke to his team. He said Hal had told me to have Mr. Tire look at the work again contradicting what he actually said about taking the car to my mechanic. Chris said he would not reimburse me for the diagnostic and he didn't see how this was his problem. He intimated that I was lying. He was beyond rude. I asked him for corporates number to register a complaint. He gave me the number and I left a message a few minutes later. The Monroe voice message indicated my call would be returned within 24 hours. I have not heard back from Monroe yet. I have been stunned by the Mr. Tire's/Monroe's lack of accountability, pride in their work, and being so inept. I am not dropping this issue with Monroe. I had to leave a review to express my thanks and to let everyone know how great this place is. We were traveling from out of town and our back tire blew. Unfortunately it was after 6 pm on a Friday and everything was closing. These great people stayed late and fixed our tire, which was no easy job because the tire was hard to remove from the rim. These beautiful people are sure my family ( I had 2 of my children with me and my mother who has Alzheimer's) made it back on the road. They went above and beyond. The worker told me "we dont do those they're junk" which is understandable. This review is for the Lewes, DE location. I got a tire puncture and it caused a flat tire. AAA came and put the spare on he worked at a respectable garage and did the AAA after hours. This happened on a Sunday. He showed me the puncture which was between the tread. He said my tires had about 50% tread left on them and the puncture could be easily fixed. I called Mr. Tire to make an appointment because unless I wanted to take it to the dealer they were about the only place in the area. Well I was only there for about 10 minutes and the girl at the front desk came an told me that the puncture couldn't be fixed with some stupid excuse about there was rubber blocking the hole and I needed 2 new tires. I should have left then. I have good MIchelin tires on that were still under warranty but they only carried some off brand I never heard of. So if that wasn't bad enough another guy came out to tell me that they did a "complimentary" some point number check on my vehicle which I did not authorize. So this guy 's telling me I need new brakes and rotars and a brake fluid flush PLUS my serpentine belt needs replaced and he might have said more but I stopped him and said I didn't want anymore work done on my car. I always take it to the dealer for major work. THen he started what I call scare techniques like well you could be driving at 60 MPH on the highway then all of a sudden your brakes are makes the car start to swerve back and forth and you could hurt yourself or somebody else Or your belt could break and that would even be more dangerous. I again said no thanks and he started to again tell me how dangerous this could be. Meanwhile I had already been there for over an hour and a half. I am a nurse and I have my own therapy practice so I love to watch people. I heard them giving every woman waiting the same scare tactics no matter how new the vehicle was but did not pressure one single guy. I got a quote online when I set up my appointment and selected BASIC installation only. I do not live near a Mr. Tire so I did not want the option to have them rotate my tires in the future And did not want to pay $30 for something I will never use. When I came to pick up my car it was closing time. I was holding my credit card up to pay but asked how much it was and instead of answering me the assistant manager took the card out of my hand and swiped it himself. I was in shock. I signed nothing, he gave me my receipt and I left. Only to then realize I was charged for the lifetime installation package! I called the next day and talked to the manager who did not offer any apology but told me I had to come in to fix it. I made it in to the shop today only to be told they can not refund my card but can only offer me a free oil change certificate or mail me a check within 4-6 weeks. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place. It is not a female friendly environment. Just old men who dominate and take your credit card out of your hand when you ask for the total. Just got burned by them again.We had to get a new tire replaced (bought from Pep Boys- they are great!) But none had the exact tire to match the other 3 so we ordered it from Amazon. They have a system with Mr. Tire to install- that's the only reason we went back there! Amazon shipped the tire to Mr. Tire. They've had it in their shop since Thursday. Had my vehicle into Mr Tire, Middletown for left rear tire repair and tire rotation. At completion of the work, the repair was completed, but rotation was not completed, as indicated by the left rear having a patch/plug, and the front tires still having brake dust on them further indicating no rotation was completed. But, this office still charged me for the rotation! When confronted, I requested a refund for the rotation from Hal (Asst Mngr) and he said he could not give refunds, I had to see the manager, Chris, the next day. I went in the next day and the manager was still not around, although Hal was there, he was very rude and unhelpful. He said he did not know when the manager would be back but I would have to try and catch him later. I am confident this shop is overcharging on rotations, and lining their pockets with extra cash, because it is difficult to know if rotations are completed, and one must trust the shop that they completed the work. Be cautious of this shop and most likely all MR Tire locations. They are excellent at giving customers the "run around". UPDATE - The corporate office did contact me as shown below. They immediately initiated a refund for the work that was not completed. Thank you very much! read more

Read the other 1 star reviews and steer clear! This is one of the worst experiences I've had with an auto shop. They don't stand behind their work and their work is shabby at best. I wasted a beautiful Saturday morning waiting for the incompetent staff, ultimately to find my car in the same state it was when I left it. Corporate customer service was no help. I'm generally easy going and not overly judgmental giving everyone the benefit of the doubt but WOW - this was gnarly, nasty and unnecessary. John (receptionist) was very nice but its obvious the shop is overbooked and understaffed. They kept taking walk-ins and more and more appointments as I waited my 3 hours for a simple job to be done (I had an appointment). It's obvious John has experience dealing with unhappy customers because he had the corporate number and even the option (3 if you're interested) memorized to reach customer service. read more

It's been over a month. You could have done something sooner. You may want to retrain or hire new staff. People are spending good money on tires and services so their time should be valued. When your employees realized they made a mistake they continued to give my mom the run around instead of being apologetic and correcting their wrong quickly they just let her leave without the service she came in there for. YOU MIGHT WANT TO READ THIS. MY CAR WAS DAMAGED! Had it for only 8 months and I went in for a tire bubble. When I left my car around 12:45pm, I had gone in for the initial tire change. (One tire I purchased from them with no problems that they kindly ordered for me) They were busy and backed up so I decided to go home and wait for a call back. The front desk guy told me it should be done in an hour. I thanked him, asked him to give me a call back and headed out. Upon leaving, I noticed one of the mechanics getting into my car and carelessly reversing it quickly without checking the mirrors or traffic. Fortunately the on-coming car behind him was going slow enough and stopped in time!! I left and waited at home and heard nothing by 4:45pm, so I called in. The guy answering the call was professional, polite, courteous and great. No problems with the people at the front desk. He told me there was a problem and had to locate the wheel lock. Which made me realize no one worked on the car yet if they just now noticed the wheel lock key is required. A little frustrated but patient, I told him I will be right there to look for the wheel lock key. When I got there 15 mins later, the guy told me the mechanics found it and was working on the car now. He apologized and said it would take 15-20 minutes. Meaning they are probably rushing because my car's been there for quite a while. However, I was still patient. I waited in the waiting area and it was getting dark out, finally my car was done and I checked out. Everything fine. Until I drive home and checked my passenger door and kept hearing a metal hitting meta clank sound when I closed it. I thought it was the latch or something but it was definitely not like that earlier, I phoned Mr Tire right away. Telling them I left my car and just got it back with a problem with the door. Since they were closing soon, the guy asked me to bring it by tonight or tomorrow. I said I will first thing in the morning. The next morning, I examined the car with better lighting and saw that the bottom part of the door frame was wedged/bent in. Meaning something hit it to bend the door frame in, everyone told me the door was possibly left open on the lift and they forgot. I was pretty angry at this point and brought my car in. The guy (finalized my transaction the day before) who took care of me was great and checked my car for me after I explained what happened. He thanked me for my patience and filed an accident report. He explained it had to be sent out to their office and I should get a call back Monday or so. It's just very unfortunate I went in from 1245pm to 525pm for a new tire and came out with a door ding :/ I want to get this fixed asap considering I drive 150miles per wk for work. I will not go back here again. If you care about your vehicles, please do more research on the mechanics. Now I see why people say only go to trusted mechanics! Nothing against the great and professional customer service at the front desk, it's just the mechanics carelessness that is questionable and scares me into taking my car anywhere for service! I think it's incredibly inconsiderate to customers to not even attempt to wear a mask 10 months into a global pandemic. When I first came in to drop off my car the waiting room was full and both service writers had their masks around their necks while talking to customers. When I got in my car after Mr. Tire put on 4 new tires, my tire pressure monitor informed me that two tires were overinflated. The monitor will actually tell me the pressure if I push the right buttons. The pressure was between 35 and 47 in the 4 tires. Not totally trusting the monitor, I did not go back in to tell the manager but drove home, waited 4 hours, and checked the tires with two different gauges. The pressure was, indeed, between 35 and 47. The recommended pressure for the vehicle is 30. The max pressure, on the tire, is 51. Easily corrected, but made me wonder that if they are so careless about this simple but important step, what else were they careless about? One valve cap was missing and there were fingerprints on my just-cleaned car. I had an alignment done but Mr. Tire does not offer a printout of before and after as most places do. I did ask for one. Did they really do an alignment? Who knows. I gave them 2 stars anyway because they got the tires I wanted at a reasonable price, installed them on the day scheduled and were easy to work with. Hal, the manager in the front office, was professional and helpful. I would look elsewhere next time. read more

While I was waiting in line, an Afro-American woman came into the shop in an obvious semi-panic. She told the two guys behind the desk that she was on her way to take her mother to chemo, and her tire inflation warning light came on. Unbelievably, the guy behind the desk said that he couldn't send his guy out into the rain to inflate her tires. I recommended that they pull her car into the shop. They refused and sent her to Wawa. I waited hours for new tires to be out on my car. Called ahead of time to make sure they had the tires I wanted. While they had my car in they called to tell me they don't have my tires and had to put something else on. This was a few months ago. I let that go. Well today I'm trying to do my rear hubs and the lug nuts are so stripped and while trying to take them off my dad had to help me. He used a torque gun, air chisel, torch and then had to grind the lugs off little by little just to get the tire off. My rims are ruined, lugs are in pieces. Took my dad TWO hour to get one lug nut off. This is ridiculous and I will NEVER go there again. read more

So I am writing this review way later I had planned but it's deserved and other customers or potential ones should be aware of the sham this organization is. So after doing much research online I find a set of 4 economy tires for one low price, I chose this particular Mr. Tire because they said they had them in stock. I was actually deciding between them, NTB and another local small shop but in the end went with them bc overall it would have saved about $50 in the end with these particular tires. I show up for the appointment and the check in process is okay, while getting checked in I ask if they can change my wipers also, sure they say and add it on the invoice. Easy enough, I left my car and ran some local errands nearby. They call to say it's ready, I go back and the bill with the wiper charge as expected is about $45 more than quoted online, confirmed with over the phone and with prior to walking out the door a few hours ago. I ask why, confused looks in return like I am the crazy one, sir you chose our economy model. Yeah I know but for this price, I had the online quote printed and hand it over. Then the look changed to oh I see, let me grab a manager. A manager standing next to her takes 5 minutes to be able to get involved and says these are not in stock so we give you the next lowest ones, I ask when did you run out. He said we haven't had those in about 2 months, so all the research and confirmations I made a week ago were pointless. I should have gone elsewhere because they lied about what they had there and then just put something else on my car, changed the bill and charged me for it. I sucked it up and paid and left annoyed, but wait it gets worse. As I drive out I see they didn't remember to change the wiper blades which they charged me for, I had to go back and wait for them to do that - so annoying. To put the cherry on top and this is why the entire organization is not worth ever using again in my opinion, a few days later I get a survey email from them and I was honest about my experience. I sent it off figuring id never hear a thing. To my surprise a guy from customer service calls and apologized and wanted to make it right by sending me a $40 gift card. I was thrilled and ready to 100% forgive and try them again, he confirmed my address and gave me his direct contact information. They must think people are really idiots because the gift card never came and it's been months now, he said within 2-3 weeks tops. I call back the # he gave me and it's disconnected and his email address is undeliverable - top class organization from the local shops to the HR department in corporate trying to save face, go anywhere else but this place. 5/19/17 - Kim, no thank you. Your company showed its true colors at multiple levels and I reviewed and rated accordingly for it. You already had a chance to make a wrong a right and did not do so. When I arrived for my appointment, they tried to sell me some other brand. When I asked for the tire brand that I was quoted for they said they did not have them. BTW the online quote is completely useless. The quote they give you means nothing. I called the day before my appointment to confirm and they didnt know who I was, what tire size, or brand I had ordered. They try to blame on the "new guy" who works there. Nice try Al...so glad I didnt hand you my key. They try to act confused that nobody talked to me over the phone. I would have gotten a completely different tire brand for a ridiculous marked up price. Good thing there are plenty of other car services in the area. Change for the worse, clearly. Had a horrible experience with my vehicle I brought in this past week. Brought it in Sunday, said they'd try to get it done by Monday, was "promised" it on a Tuesday, and it wasn't done until Wednesday! Then, when I went to pick it up after they told me it was done, they made me stand there for nearly 30 minutes while they completed the paperwork and did some other things for other customers. Then, there were services listed on my invoice that weren't done, so I brought it to the guy's attention. Then, I had to wait until he corrected it. Not the most cordial, knowledgeable people behind the counter, that's for sure. Bottom line-- Mr. Tire Middletown has changed, big time, for the worse. I've been bringing my vehicles here for years with no issue and great service. But now, it's quite clear that management has changed (easy to see from different people behind the desk now), and so has the quality of service changed. What a shame. terrible customer service, dropped my truck off first thing in the morning on a tuesday for a coolant leak repair, and get a call later that day around 2pm saying they cant find the part, which is just a heater core hose, for my truck. fair enough i can wait.. over 24 hours goes by with no update on whether they've even found the part, so the next day I call once around 2pm and the lady cant even find my file and tells me that they'll call back in a few minutes. Three hours goes by still no call back. I call again around 5pm and the same lady asks me if if i ever got that call back three hours ago! I said nope and was told someone would call within minutes again.... half hour goes by so i call again and finally get an explanation of whats going on and finally a quote for a repair which was extremely overpriced. Had to pry all that information from them countless phone calls just for that. really messed up bringing my truck here, wont be back. read more

Wow. Little busy this morning, normal and expected for a Saturday. But front desk crew not capable of handling it well at all. Well, one of them anyway. Didn't get his name, burly younger white guy. Frenetic. Pissed. He looked like he was about to snap. Rushed. Rude. Incapable of smiling. One guy (nicer African American) was scheduling my appt when this guy stops him, says no way they can schedule me. Fella that was working with me, obviously convinced he could schedule me, shrugged his shoulders as if to say this guy had the last word. When I asked if they were sure, rude guy didn't want to respond, and I could see he was trying to remain calm, barely able to, do Insaid no worries and left. Just not a capable front desk. read more

Needing to remove snow tires and remount my road tires, I called for an appointment and showed up on time. I waited for two and a half hours for what is at most a 30 minute job. The shop manager did not communicate with me during this time and when I inquired about the extraordinary delay, I was told there were issues with others and my car was now on the lift. I should have been told when I arrived there would be a significant delay and I could have saved an afternoon. I'll go elsewhere for tire service in the future. read more

Came here last year to get oil change and they were very late and very rude. Needed a tire in an emergency in the fall. Very unprofessional. Came today with an appointment for an oil change because I had a coupon. They were so rude. They told me they overbooked and have no appts for the next 3 days. I was 15min early for my appt. while I was waiting to talk to a manager, the other person with the same appt time came. Even though she was 10min late, they took her no problem. I will never return here again. read more
