Especially if you're a woman looking to buy a car and you're not bringing a male used-car-salesperson-destroyer with you to negotiate. I came in to look at cars because my a/c had gone out and my sister in Canada was in the hospital on her death bed. I needed a car pronto to get to her & they knew it. During test drive I mentioned to Steve P. that the a/c felt warm & humid, especially when idling. The first time I mentioned it, he completely ignored the statement. When I specifically asked him if the a/c felt warm to him, his response was "oh, it's monsoon season, so it just feels a little humid". IMO, after I'd called out the a/c feeling warm, he should've offered to have it serviced as part of the purchase transaction. My concern was not taken seriously, The 06 RSX was listed at $13k. When we checked KBB at the table, we saw a similar one for $9k, but it had slightly higher mileage. I asked if he could come down on the price a bit, but his reply was it's priced higher because of the mileage difference...& pushed the paperwork towards me to sign. I felt rushed. One of the biggest selling points that Steve kept hitting on was that Acuras hold their value, & even though he knew it wasn't the car I wanted, I'd be able to return in a year & purchase something better because of the equity I'd have. When going through contracts with the Finance Manager, I was offered gap insurance. Which means I was upside down in my loan & there would be no way I'd have trading power in a year, as Steve had so strongly advocated. I brought that up, & F Manager comment was, "we're all in the same boat". Steve rattled off some bs about how tax & registration should be taken out of the future deal, & I "would be okay". More sales jargon used on an unsuspecting and desperate woman needing a vehicle. Day after buying, I tried to drive to Canada to visit my sis, but a/c was blowing SO warm & humid that I was drenched in sweat. Brought the car back to Middletown for service, & I had to pay for a rental vehicle. Appreciated, but also inconvenienced me in 3 hs drive time and several hundred dollars! Later, the GM told me they " I never ever recommend driving long distances right away"........ Really? But you knew that's WHY I was buying it. So, your cars are sold unreliable? The same night I picked up the car, after a/c repairs, I got a flat tire. When I tried to call road side assistance as promised in my contract, they couldn't find me in system. I had no idea how to change tire. I put air in & drove 2 miles home, which ruined the it. Called next day & their first response was - "well, it didn't have flat when it was here". After raising hell, they sent a driver to put the donut on (I replaced tire with out of pocket cost of $175.) Putting costs aside, my safety is the real concern here. I could have been left stranded in the middle of the long drive through the desert on my way to CA with no roadside assistance. That scares me! The back windshield wiper was "replaced on PDI" while it was in the shop, as it was just flapping in the wind, but you would think the service department would also check the front blades. They were also worn, & did nothing but push water around, making it hard to see & unsafe... They said they were "replaced on PDI" Nothing like going that extra mile for customer satisfaction and delight. During the big rainstorm we had, all windows, doors, & sunroof were tightly closed, doors locked. When I got in next day, I noticed it smelled musty, & felt around for dampness. The floor behind the driver's seat had 3"of water in it. Even the small towel that was sitting on the floor next to it was soaked. I noticed the window tint on the driver's door is peeling off now, & wondered if the water somehow caused that. Took it back & they told me they "ran it thru the car wash & found no leaks". They did replace body plugs, but guess I was just imagining all that water on my floor. I'd first spoken with another sales guy that called me about the RSX. I saw it online & noticed it looked like the paint was oxidized. I said would not be interested if that was the case. He assured me it wasn't & when I came in, I didn't see the damage. It apparently had been buffed out. However, the oxidation came back after a week & was very noticeable on the trunk. Brought it back in & they painted that portion. But, they dust got on wet paint & I will need to bring back AGAIN to have polished out. I feel I was sold a vehicle that was unreliable, my safety & well-being were disregarded & the car was brought to sub-par condition, in order to make a quick sale to an unsuspecting woman. I wish I could give zero stars. I purchased a used 2018 Hyundai Kona and discovered that the air conditioning was not working. After multiple trips and countless hours dealing with this issue, I finally got a hold of someone at Honda for what should have been a straightforward repair. Yesterday was the final straw. I was told to be there at 10:30 AM. I arrived on time and proceeded to sit there until 1:50 PM -- nearly four hours. What makes that even more frustrating? My car sat in the lot for approximately the first three hours I was there before they even started working on it. This is now the fourth trip I've made regarding this AC issue. At this point, I have lost an absurd amount of time dealing with something that should have been addressed long ago. The good news: the AC is finally fixed. The infuriating part: instead of simply addressing a problem that existed when I purchased the vehicle, the dealership chose to put the repair through my extended warranty. So after all of the time, inconvenience, and repeated trips, they still managed to make this my problem and use my warranty in the process. I also want to address something that was said while I was waiting. I was told that the delay was because the vehicle is a Hyundai and not a Honda, and that the process was going to take longer because of that. This was especially frustrating because the car was sold to me by this same dealership, and I brought it here specifically expecting proper service and familiarity with the vehicle they sold. That explanation felt like an excuse rather than a real reason for the delay. I was also told that the vehicle I saw being pulled in around 1 PM "wasn't mine" and that they had another car that looked similar. That explanation doesn't hold up, especially given the timing. It felt dismissive and only added to the frustration of an already unacceptable wait. I also want to note that at no point during this entire process was I given paperwork to sign for the work being done, the diagnosis, or the authorization to use my extended warranty. I was asked to sign documents, but I was not given any time to read them, and I was not provided copies of anything afterward. There was no documentation provided at pickup either, which only added to the lack of transparency and confusion throughout the experience. And then there was the manager. Unfortunately, the manager's handling of the situation was just as disappointing. Rather than taking ownership of what was happening, she repeatedly blamed other people and shifted responsibility, including blaming the employee who was actually helping me. That employee was courteous and genuinely trying to assist me throughout an incredibly frustrating situation. Watching a manager throw her own staff member under the bus instead of taking responsibility was extremely unprofessional. A manager should be taking ownership, communicating clearly, and working to resolve a customer's concerns -- not looking for someone else to blame. Based on my experience, this manager could use some serious retraining in customer service and leadership. She did not demonstrate the accountability or professionalism I would expect from someone in a management position. I have documentation of phone calls, emails that went unanswered, and the entire ordeal, including previous visits and communications, and I have already filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I understand that repairs can take time and that diagnosing an AC issue isn't always straightforward. What I don't understand is the repeated inconvenience, the lack of communication, being given incorrect information about when my vehicle would be worked on, having my car sit untouched for hours while I sat there waiting, the shifting explanations, the lack of accountability, and the complete lack of proper documentation. Four trips. Countless hours. Incorrect information. No paperwork. A manager who refused to take responsibility. And nearly four hours sitting in a dealership yesterday for a repair on a vehicle that should have been properly addressed in the first place. I'm glad the AC is finally working, but the experience has been completely unacceptable. I would think twice before purchasing a vehicle here, and based on this experience, I certainly would not recommend this service department. read more

I have to say I am beyond words right about now! I finally bought my own car today and I don't think that would have ever happened if I didn't meet Christian Diaz, who was my Sales Rep and Sean Curtis who was the financial person in charge that day. About 3 months ago I was really trying hard to get a car. I'm a single mom now and between my credit score not so good and having a financial hardship, I knew my chances were slim. I gave it a shot and probably went to 5 different car dealerships in the city before ever going to Middletown. Each one shot me down. It was either I had to put more money down or I needed a co-signed, of course I had neither of those. Eventually I just gave up. Just last week I went into Middletown Honda for a simple oil change on a different vehicle that belonged to my mother. I went up to the front desk and ask if they sold any preowned cars. That's when Chris stepped in. He is very polite and professional. I told him right off the bat, my credit is shot, I don't think I'll be able to qualify for anything. He told me that he would help me out, don't need to worry, he would get me into a car. I'm already thinking to myself, well I heard this before so it's most likely I'll be be turned down again but I gave it another go! I provided Chris with all of my information. Which was very simple and quick. Then I went to meet Sean Curtis. I talked to Sean and I explained my story to him and he knew exactly what I was going through. To me I felt that was my light at the end of the tunnel. Sean told me to give him a few days and said he would call me once he heard back. So I waited and a few days had passed and I didn't hear anything back, so I called yesterday and talked to Sean and he told me just him a couple of hours to hear back and within an half an hour Sean had called me back with some amazing news!! I was APPROVED for the car! I was shocked and happy at the same time. I couldn't believe it! Went back today and met with Chris again to do the paper work and that part was super easy and smooth plus the other two ladies were very helpful too (sorry I didn't catch their names, I was eying the car lol but thank you ladies) and within the hour I was off driving in my new car! I absolutely recommend Chris from Sales and Sean from Financial because they will definitely go above and beyond for you and take care of you. *this is a purchase review* I was looking to getting a new car. I've mainly driven Hondas so that's what I wanted to buy. I'd previously went to Morehead in Newburgh and was not happy with their lack of customer service at all. Since a few people recommended Middletown Honda, I decided to go. I was told to ask for Ed--his desk is right on left when you walk in. I am so glad he was working! The previous day, is been to Morehead, as well as another (non honda) dealership. Ed is the truth! Ed knows exactly what he's doing and knows EVERYTHING there is to know about the cars he is selling. He answered any and every question I had as well as my dad. If there was anything he didn't know (which was rare) he said, "I'm not 100% sure! but I can find out" He was very personable and friendly. Not pushy at all. I almost felt like he was my friend. My dad is the type of person that is very hard to please and he finds fault with everything, and he kept praising Ed. (If you knew my dad, you would know how rare that is from him to do with someone he doesn't know). The car I wanted wasn't at Middletown, so Ed had to go get it. He went to get the car that was the closest with the least amount of miles on it. As a 1st time new car buyer, I didn't know what to expect, but Ed went above and beyond what my expectations were. He wasn't aggressive or 'forceful'. He didn't try to sell me something that was outside of my preferred range. He didn't talk to me as if I were a child. He explained everything clearly. I think he even came in on his day off so he could be there when I picked up my car. (I love my car btw) Also I want to mention Joe C in the finance dept. He was awesome as well. He also didn't pressure me into anything, and let me know that it was possible that my bank would be the better option in terms of the apr. He even let me know what my credit score was. I knew the general range, but not the actual number. I went on thinking that I got the best quote from the bank, but it ended up being better through Honda. I can't say enough about the experience of leasing a new vehicle from Middletown Honda. I think under any circumstances they would have done a great job under the excellent management of Robin Goldin. But in my case, my car's engine blew half-way between home and vacation with my two children, our dog, and all our stuff. AAA towed my car to one of their approved repair shops, but repair was not in my best interest. I had to spend precious time sorting out what to do and looked everywhere in a 100 mile radius from where I broke down, but once I found Middletown Honda, it wasn't just the best deal: they made many of the hard decisions much easier. Robin took great care to connect me with the facts and information I needed, and the great staff he works with. Jorge helped me deal with getting my old car towed, offering to pay cash on arrival when, believe it or not, the towing place wouldn't take a credit card over the phone. They knew I was trying to salvage vacation with my family and handled every interaction with sensitivity, respect, and precision. Marlon, my salesperson, was fantastic! He kept a lookout for me as I found my way to the dealership for the first time, and from there he proved to be not only very knowledgeable, respectful and patient, but capable of turning a very stressful situation into a pleasant one. My brief interaction with Sean only added to that as finances were all in order. Marlon made sure I quickly learned what I needed to get me out and on the road to home with confidence. First of all, I would like to say that I was absolutely dreading buying a new car. We had just bought my husband a Honda accord from Barton Chevrolet in Newburgh in October and the experience was absolutely DREADFUL!! After much shopping around looking for another ev vehicle we reached out to Josie to who told us about the clarity. We had been wanting to go from our current plug in/gas vehicle to a full electric but she convinced us to check it out. After test driving the clarity and learning about all the fantastic features as well as a great offer from Ryan we were beginning to seriously consider the car. Ryan prepared everything for us just in case we decided the clarity was for us. After some more looking around at other vehicles and places we knew this was the right car. I have been going to Middletown Honda for a few years now. It started when I needed my old 98 civic looked at, they were quick with an answer and honest with their evaluation of my car. Then a couple years ago it was time to buy a new car. I went to many dealers who had denied me, brushed me off, tried to make me jump through all these hoops to get a car. Then I walked into Middletown Honda. I was greeted by Jay who showed me a few options, we sat down, filled out some paperwork and were denied. Jay and his co-workers did not let me walk out the door. They gave me other options and crunched the numbers and by the next day I drove off in my new civic right in my payment range. Last week I called Jay to inquire about a CRV, after answering my questions and guiding me, I got to pick up my new CRV the other day and I couldn't be happier! Jay got everything done very smoothly so we were able to come in, sign and drive away within 30-45 minutes. Amid all the really bad reviews I've seen on Yelp, I am happy to say that my experience with Middletown Honda was hassle-free and delightful. I had recently purchased a used car and was helped as soon as I walked through the door. The sales rep, Joshua, showed me cars that were in my price range; he didn't try to pressure me or show me anything not worth my time. I got to test drive the car and peek around as much as I wanted. Before I returned to fill out the paperwork days later, they kept me up to speed with all the information I needed to provide and informed me of any changes asap. The finance manager, Sean, got me a loan with a low rate which was awesome because my credit wasn't spectacular. And the delivery consultant, Samantha, made the paperwork process easy and explained each page , the details of my loan, and anything else I wasn't sure of. My car was even detailed and washed before I drove it home! Overall, I am extremely pleased with my purchase and the sales service I received. My car was recently totaled. I am a single mother of one and a nurse. It's been impossible to get around. I went to Middletown Honda on 2/18 and left the same day with my beautiful Honda HR-V. Katia, my sales woman was so professional. She never made me feel forced as I have felt at other dealers in the past. She helped me quickly find the car that fits myself and my daughter so well. Sean in the finance department was an absolute GEM! He made me feel at home and quickly did what he had to do to get me approved and got me the best deal. Manny who finalized my sale showed me around my new car, got me used to all the features, explained my warranty and all that was included, and even helped pack all my heavy groceries into the trunk! I cannot say enough about the exceptional sales and service provided by Middletown Honda. My wife and I just purchased a certified used vehicle and we are thrilled with it. Our salesman, Chris was extremely knowledge with zero pressure applied. He allowed us to ask questions at our pace, and walked us through every step of the process. Super kudos to Brad who helped us with the financing. He was honest and disclosing on all details. His briefing on the was warranty options made it easy to understand and it helped us make the right choice. He even went up and above to give me some advice on another car loan I have. Who does that in 2019?! The car had a minor trim issue which I didn't even notice but the dealership was not satisfied it was up to standards. They scheduled me for a service appointment and they treated me like royalty when I came in for the work. I have another car, a Nissan, but after this experience, I see a trade-in in my future.
