    Huevos Tostada **
    Marina V.

I made a reservation for brunch before I had to head to work because I saw they had gluten free options. I ordered the huevos tostada and it was amazing! It was such a large portion I couldn't finish it all the way but the flavor was amazing and I loved the green sauce that came with it. My server was very kind and if I'm in the area again I'll definitely eat here. Just a word of advice, make a reservation because the day before I arrived and it was packed inside. It's quite a small place so you want to make sure you reserve a table.

Great food and ambiance. This is a breakfast/brunch spot that gives really good portion sizes. I think they are also open for dinner some nights. Not too much food but plenty enough!!! I couldn't finish mine, but ate over half of it. So, I didn't feel wasteful. The pictures speak for themselves. Try the hot chicken- flavorful and not salty like others I have tried. Their Gouda grits are super thick, but oh so flavorful. You may want a few pats of butter if you like them thinner. I loved them but my hubby wasn't sure he loved the texture- food belonged to me so my vote wins 5. Nice area of town and there are lots of food choices. The service was stellar and the server made some great recommendations. Definitely worth it. Not sure if we will return, but that is only because this is a short weekend trip and we have lots of food to try in Nashville.

This place is cute and quaint in a big hearted way! It is close to hotels, the servers were so nice and personable. BEST PANCAKES for me. I like them fluffy but not big, crispy edges and so very good. The Gouda cheese grits were different but I loved the flavor.

Attentive and friendly service. Homey neighborhood ambience. Generous and tasty portions. The lemon artichoke soup is a must try. The US based wine selection is not that interesting- definitely go European.

Brunchin' in Music City!! We were visiting Nashville and my son and daughter in law suggested Midtown Cafe for brunch. Two great things were that they were able to make a reservation the day of which was great, and it was in walking distance of their apartment. We were seated immediately which was great. One con is that the place is small, but they have added mirrors to make it look bigger which really helped. The food was really good. I enjoyed the Midtown Breakfast that came with bacon, scrambled eggs and a fruit cup. The fruit cup had my favorites strawberries, madarin oranges and grapes rather than the typical cantaloupe and honeydew. My daughter in law got the chocolate chip pancakes which would have been my second choice.

There are too many choices for breakfast in Nashville and I was hitting analysis paralysis. In the end I went with my 10% discount from my hotel and went with Midtown Cafe - a very good call. Midtown is an institution (30+ years) in a city of institutions and it rightfully belongs there. I was a table for one so I headed straight to the bar. The very friendly waitress recommended the Green Tomato Benedict with a side of cheese (Gouda) grits which was a great call. The food arrived in a timely manner, piping hot and oh so delicious. And those grits! So delicious and some of the best I've ever had. No need to struggle over food choices - just go to Midtown. One final note - whilst surfing Yelp this morning I came across what is claimed to be the finest coconut cream pie. Since my Midtown meal was manageable I know where I'm headed next.

Came to Nashville w/ my husband and after a quick google search decided to come here for breakfast. So glad we did! This breakfast spot is a must-visit, even if it means braving the crowds. The wait can be long, reservations or not, but trust me, it's worth it. The service is top-notch, the vibes are warm and welcoming, and the food is seriously delicious. I went for the crab cake benedict and really enjoyed it. It's clear why this place is a favorite among locals and visitors alike. Definitely check it out if you're in the area.

Was very surprised that this restaurant offers valet. This made parking very easy. I stopped by during breakfast and they have an extensive breakfast & brunch menu. Very comfortable and cozy. I loved that they laid down a fresh linen tablecloth with each dining party. The food was simple and yummy. I ordered the Midtown Breakfast. It was affordable and filling. They offer a shuttle service to The Ryman, so I plan on making reservations for dinner before a concert at the Ryman soon.

Anyone giving MidTown Cafe less then 5 stars doesn't deserve it and shouldn't come back. This place is absolutely a must, for anyone that wants excellent service (I recommend Makailah) and fantastic cuisine. The Cafe, while small, is well-appointed with black table cloths and excellent low-tone music, making it all feel very intimate. We started with their signature Lemon Artichoke Soup, it was delicious, and I'll never ever forget the Shrimp N Grits, Simply Amazing! I'm looking forward to my next trip to Nashville a bit more now!!!

It's my last night in Nashville so I want to go to a bang zoom restaurant. A few of my co workers have said to me: Mr Bill, we see every night you're going out to some amazing spots. Mind if we tag along? Sure, the rules are to keep your fork outta my plate when we sit down. Deal? The restaurant is very large, we're shown to our table. Set in the middle of the dining room and facing the bar. The bar can seat at least 25 people, the restaurant is set up for fun. To get our party started, I ordered a well crafted cocktail: Tea'd Up Old Fashioned Made with Bourbon, Black Tea and House Barrel Aged Bitters. Funky?? Oh yeah I'm with a bunch of Military Veterans and they're telling me their crazy stories. I'm sippin' my Old Fashioned and taking it all in, we need to bond over drinks and crazy things we all drank overseas. As an adult, I can appreciate my Nashville TN Old Fashioned with Black Tea. While we're talking, our waitress drops off a plate of homemade biscuits. The biscuits are fire! Buttery, flakey and moist, The Southern Steak & Oyster can make a damn good biscuit. Next, my Gumbo comes to me. The first taste I can tell this is a chef'd up dish. Better than anything I had in New Orleans. This gumbo is filled with Andouille, Crawfish, Shrimp and Fried Okra. Very flavorful indeed. My last entree in Nashville will be Fish 'N Grits. Fresh fish topped with Spicy Tasso Ham over Sweet Potato Grits and Bacon Braised Cabbage. This is a flavorful dish, the grits are very creamy and the cook on the fish was spot on. We had a great night at The Southern Steak & Oyster, it was a pleasure to dine at your restaurant.

On one visit with only a few of us there our bartender disappeared for a good 20 minutes. Upon his return he was focused on everything but the 5 of us in the place until we finally had to ask to get service. The other visit everyone helped me but the actual server. Maybe this is a staffing problem, I don't know but being stuck for 20 minutes to order another drink with my meal is not acceptable. Although they had that check in my hand in under a minute and in under another minute to process. Again, super nicer people, but kind of oblivious. 2) Now let's talk about the kitchen. And I'm adding some input from the other diners because we all sat there waiting. - flavors are great, but the salt and spice level is overboard. I had the mushroom appetizer and nearly choked/coughed to death. I like heat but this was raw spice that overpowered the dish. And the salt about made my feet swell into balloons. Such a shame because the idea is great just poor execution - deviled eggs. Pass - BBQ Shrimp, sort of like the mushrooms right profile but overpowering - gumbo. Two other people had the gumbo and when I asked they said that too is just over spiced I want to like this place, but probably my last visit unless I just come for oysters. Sorry

Our server, Cody, truly made the experience unforgettable. Hands down, he is the best server I've ever had anywhere. He took the time to thoroughly walk us through the menu, explain the daily specials, answer all of our questions, and offer recommendations based on what we were looking for. His knowledge, enthusiasm, and genuine hospitality elevated our entire dining experience. We ordered the pancakes, omelets, and of course, the famous biscuits. The biscuits absolutely deserve the hype! They were warm, buttery, fluffy, and practically melted in your mouth. The pancakes were light, fluffy, and delicious, and the omelets were cooked perfectly and packed with flavor. One thing I really appreciated is that while Loveless Cafe offers a supper menu in the evenings, breakfast is served all day. That's perfect for anyone like me who believes breakfast tastes good no matter what time it is! It's easy to see why Loveless Cafe has become such a Nashville staple. Sadly, we didn't have coffee this morning because we had a long scenic drive and didn't want to make any more stops than necessary. But I bet he would've been right on the ball with those refills. The small signage made it a little difficult to find inside the Marriott (see pictures), but from the moment we walked in, heard the live piano player and saw the dining area - we knew this would be a great experience. We started off by sharing orders of Lobster Bisque (see picture) and Burrata with Toast (see pictures). We really enjoyed both of them - the Lobster Bisque was so creamy and smooth and the Burrata was cool, fresh and clean. They were a great combination to start our dinner experience and I would recommend both of them. Since it was a Friday during lent, my wife opted for the BBQ Shrimp Pasta (see picture) and I went with the Daily Fish Special on Blue Corn Grits (see picture). As we always do when we go out, we shared our plates and really enjoyed both of them. The BBQ Shrimp Pasta was rich, buttery and smooth and the Fish Special was a tasty white, flaky and blackened fish served on a bed of rich, creamy blue corn grits. Here again, both are highly recommended.
