The hospitality here was great! Our waitress was very sweet and made sure to check on our table a lot with waters. The lemon artichoke soup was good, and definitely very lemony. I enjoyed the complimentary biscuits and like how they have some dried fruits mixed in with different jams on the side. The shrimp and grits are highly recommended as one of their signature dishes! Make sure you have a reservation as brunch time can be busy.

Midtown Cafe is a cute place! When we arrived, we saw valet parking right up front which was so easy. My friend was already seated inside so we walked right in. Our server was very friendly and provided lots of suggestions. I got an unsweetened iced tea to start and tried a mini biscuit on the table. Eric R. ordered the shrimp and grits with fried egg after seeing it both on the brunch and lunch menus and was told it is the top seller. I got the mediterranean pasta and added blackened shrimp. The meals came out fast, hot, and tasty. We ate it all and were happily stuffed. There are so many options too, as breakfast and brunch are served until 2, lunch has a separate menu, and there were even separate lunch specials. There is definitely something everyone can find on this menu!

Really good food! I was very impressed with the Sunday breakfast today at Midtown cafe. They're celebrating 37 years in town for a reason. I visited years ago and had an impressive dinner. I didn't know they served breakfast everyday. We were starving when we walked in so the biscuit basket service came in handy. The country sausage is so good!!! I can't wait to come back. It's really hard to find great pancakes. I enjoyed everything we had. We looked over and all 4 entrees at the table next to us looked amazing. Generous portions for the prices. It's a small restaurant and doesn't have the bells and whistles of the new "viral" places being built lately. The food is exceptional so we will be back for sure. There were so many options on the menu. My photos do not do justice at all.

The service was excellent, but I felt that it was too expensive, my Aperol Spritz was good..

What I liked most about this place is that it's very efficient; truly in and out. From the moment we walked in to the time we left, it was about 30 minutes total, which is great if you're looking for a quick breakfast. The service was fast, and the overall pace of the restaurant was impressive. I ordered the avocado toast on sourdough bread. While the presentation looked decent at first glance, the avocado didn't seem very fresh you could tell by the darker color. Fresh avocado should have a bright green appearance, so that was a bit disappointing. Flavor-wise, my breakfast was okay, nothing particularly memorable but still edible and satisfying enough. Overall, it's a good spot if you're short on time and want something quick, but there's definitely room for improvement when it comes to ingredient freshness and quality.

I made a reservation for brunch before I had to head to work because I saw they had gluten free options. I ordered the huevos tostada and it was amazing! It was such a large portion I couldn't finish it all the way but the flavor was amazing and I loved the green sauce that came with it. My server was very kind and if I'm in the area again I'll definitely eat here. Just a word of advice, make a reservation because the day before I arrived and it was packed inside. It's quite a small place so you want to make sure you reserve a table.

Great food and ambiance. This is a breakfast/brunch spot that gives really good portion sizes. I think they are also open for dinner some nights. Not too much food but plenty enough!!! I couldn't finish mine, but ate over half of it. So, I didn't feel wasteful. The pictures speak for themselves. Try the hot chicken- flavorful and not salty like others I have tried. Their Gouda grits are super thick, but oh so flavorful. You may want a few pats of butter if you like them thinner. I loved them but my hubby wasn't sure he loved the texture- food belonged to me so my vote wins 5. Nice area of town and there are lots of food choices. The service was stellar and the server made some great recommendations. Definitely worth it. Not sure if we will return, but that is only because this is a short weekend trip and we have lots of food to try in Nashville.

Brunchin' in Music City!! We were visiting Nashville and my son and daughter in law suggested Midtown Cafe for brunch. Two great things were that they were able to make a reservation the day of which was great, and it was in walking distance of their apartment. We were seated immediately which was great. One con is that the place is small, but they have added mirrors to make it look bigger which really helped. The food was really good. I enjoyed the Midtown Breakfast that came with bacon, scrambled eggs and a fruit cup. The fruit cup had my favorites strawberries, madarin oranges and grapes rather than the typical cantaloupe and honeydew. My daughter in law got the chocolate chip pancakes which would have been my second choice.

This place is cute and quaint in a big hearted way! It is close to hotels, the servers were so nice and personable. BEST PANCAKES for me. I like them fluffy but not big, crispy edges and so very good. The Gouda cheese grits were different but I loved the flavor.

There are too many choices for breakfast in Nashville and I was hitting analysis paralysis. In the end I went with my 10% discount from my hotel and went with Midtown Cafe - a very good call. Midtown is an institution (30+ years) in a city of institutions and it rightfully belongs there. I was a table for one so I headed straight to the bar. The very friendly waitress recommended the Green Tomato Benedict with a side of cheese (Gouda) grits which was a great call. The food arrived in a timely manner, piping hot and oh so delicious. And those grits! So delicious and some of the best I've ever had. No need to struggle over food choices - just go to Midtown. One final note - whilst surfing Yelp this morning I came across what is claimed to be the finest coconut cream pie. Since my Midtown meal was manageable I know where I'm headed next.

Attentive and friendly service. Homey neighborhood ambience. Generous and tasty portions. The lemon artichoke soup is a must try. The US based wine selection is not that interesting- definitely go European.

We started with the meatball skewers, which were great, and the sauce that came with them was perfection. I also have to mention the Cabernet, one of the best glasses of wine I've had in a while. The one drawback was the dinner menu felt a little limited on options. That said, what we got delivered. My fiancé had the strip steak, which was really good, and I got the pork, which was also amazing. Overall a really good experience. The 3.5 is mainly because we spent $250 and still left a little hungry. Other than that, a really cool place worth checking out.

I even had a chance to go before, when Toby and I had made plans in 2020 to come to the city. Obviously, we know what happened then. I think it was worth the wait. I loved their whole take on Southern cuisine. From the confit wings in Alabama white sauce to their Bucksnort trout, to their Heritage pork--everything tasted delightful. Admittedly, the bright green sauce and saturated Carolina gold rice looked a little funny to me. But once I had my first bite I thought it was heavenly. The server was impeccable. He was courteous, quick, and helpful. I had questions about the menu and concerns about if the arrangement of dishes ordered were too much. But he made the whole meal better with his suggestions and assurances. Even the other incidental staff were well-trained, filling the water and always assisting with the experience. The ambiance was picture-perfect. Obviously the place is permeated with charm and class in equal measure. It felt like we were eating in our well-off friend's home and had put together a spread of time-tested country favorites but with a twist. From the decor to the herb and vegetable garden outside, I felt super welcomed and comfortable. Yes, Husk was a success. I'm a changed man because of the experience. Sufficed to say I will be recommending it to even more people than before and will be waiting like a puppy at the window back home for the next opportunity to come back to Nashville and/or the other locations for my next meal.

They're known for their roast beef but there are so many things that most people want to try so they offer half portions of most of their proteins. The setup is cafeteria style, where you grab a tray and ask each server which item you want. I was completely lost, but the servers were really nice and helped us through the process. The food: 1/2 order of roast beef - this is what they're known for, so if you eat beef, order this one. Tender, very meaty, with tons of jus. Blackened salmon - I'm always skeptical of seafood in a cafeteria setting, but I had a bite of my friend's dish and this was perfectly cooked. Fried Chicken - crispy skin, tender meat, well seasoned. Turnip Greens - flavorful, not mushy Cornbread - solid Desserts - Chess Pie and Pecan Pie - sweet, but as expected. Pretty good Cauliflower hash - very cheesy, could pass for potato hashbrowns but a little drier. It was ok. Creamed corn - way too sweet for my preference Arnold's is a fun time. They paid homage to Masters of the Universe while we were there. The live action movie playing on one TV and the animated series playing on another. There's even a free arcade game emulator out in the front lobby. Arnold's approach to food is no frills. They crank out comfort food that is reminiscent of a home kitchen, in a good way - nothing crazy, just the classics.
