We went to Midtown Spirits for happy hour on a Tuesday (4-6pm) and there was plenty of seating both inside and on the nice patio. We ordered one of the seasonal cocktails, a Capitol Coffee, and some food items. Devil burger, classic dog (toppings on the side), and the baked potato fries. Everything was tasty. I prefer the Chester fries on their own, and I feel they have plenty of flavor without the extras. Normally I would get one of the slushees but I was really looking forward to trying their summer gin. Definitely would recommend the Summer Basic Smash. I wish it had an added strawberry or watermelon flavor as it's really tart. But it's very refreshing. My one big complaint would be the service. The person who was taking orders at the bar had a line and decided to stop taking orders and put away a load of dishes. It took one of us in line asking to be helped before she came over. The food was really good, but my GF had a noticeable bad reaction to all the MSG that they put in the food. You guys might want to dial down on the MSG. She's semi allergic to MSG, and she noticed it right away after eating your food last week. I don't think I've ever seen her that sick. We love the drinks and eclectic menu options here. Friendly staff, though drink service can be a bit slow and the line can get long on weekends. Still a great place to come for brunch. If you like pancakes but aren't into the over the top sweetness they can bring to the table, then I recommend their ube pancakes; a real treat. THE best Bloody Mary in town (I like a double horseradish myself). The service was terrible. The food is 4/10 and not worth it for the service. The short female "bartender" is unfriendly and not welcoming. They messed up our order and didn't put bacon in my sisters burger. The male server came to us and told us to "switch them" as if my sister and I were the ones that didn't have the right burger. I would give 4 stars if the tables and chair were cleaner but besides that , the inside is cool and helps you beat the sun . Pus they have 4/5 options of frozen cocktails. MY ABSOLUTE NEW FAVE PLACE IN SAC! I went for the first time to watch game 7 of the playoffs and while the game disappointed, the food did not! I had the Masubi Bowl with longaniza and the FLAVOR of the meat and sauces were DIVINE. To drink my sorrows of the Kings not advancing, I had the Bloody Mary with dill pickle infused vodka and it was delish. Yes they have many different types of infused vodkas made right there in house! U can add whichever flavor u want to any drink!! The Ube pancakes were they fluffiest chewiest pancakes I've ever had and now I crave them daily. First time trying out Midtown spirits and this place is amazing! I had the jalapeño margarita sour slush, tarragon gin lemonade , and the devil dog. The slush was so refreshing and the food was a good portion and delicious. My coworker had the Moscow mule with the mango infusion and the orange creamsicle slush which tasted exactly like the ice cream. The staff was super friendly and attentive. We sat on the outside patio and even though it was 90 out the patio fans kept us nice and cool. It's across from a dog park so you can dog watch or bring your furry friends. Midtown spirits has been my go to spot for last several months. Between the food and drinks my stomach is always well taken care of. They're also dog friendly, but like every other food establishment he can only be inside while ordering, otherwise we have to enjoy the food outside. Which is not a problem, because they have a great patio that is heated during the cooler months and has adjustable shades for when that sun hits a little too hard. I've been here a couple of time now and will have a hard time coming back for a third. Drinks were great as are the fries and other small food items but the burger and dip sandwich tasted like cheap fast food. The part that really got me though was being there on a Sunday afternoon and ordering food from the happy hour menu. When you open their menu on your phone you're greeted with the posted screen showing happy hour from 3-6 with no mention of days. After getting our bill we realized that we were charged full price for all the food and when we went to the bar to ask we were told "oh happy hour is weekdays only... I've told management to update the website". We were left in shock. How can you list one price then charge significantly more especially when it's a known issue. I will note their happy hour menu seems to now be updated saying wed-fri. Why that wasn't there to begin with I have no idea. read more

Discovered the ube mochi pancakes from Midtown Spirits while looking for desserts places in Sac and it looked good so had to try it out! Placed an order online for pickup and the pickup time was exact. When I got the order, I tried the pancakes by itself without the sauce and it lacked flavor, the fresh fruit tasted good though. You can tell there is mochi flour in it since its so bouncy and springy but the ube flavor is hardly present. Once I added the sauce on top of the pancake, it definitely tasted a lot better!
