They were attentive and nice. If the river was clean it would have been perfect. Ducks swimming on the river and the people were friendly.

This campground could look like the pictures on their website if they did some maintenance. The lake is upside down, roadways very rough and there should be trash cans so you don't have to climb up a hill to throw away your garbage. There is a fee to have guests come visit, it includes "use of amenities". Miniature golf is listed as one of the amenities. The flyer given at the desk, states mini golf is included. It apparently is not. No consideration given for Good Sam members even though they still fly a GS flag. There are about 15-20 "permanent" guests. Some very sketchy. read more

The bathrooms and showers are dirty, unsanitary, basically falling apart. Very unpleasant. There are two washers in the laundry room, one of which is consistently broken down. The pool cover is covered in green puddles of water. The trash dumpster is constantly overflowing. read more

Scam artists charging different prices intentionally overcharging. $10-15 dollars do not let them charge you more than that! The guy tried to charge me $100 for 4 people and played dumb. I believed it was $20 per person. Absolutely ridiculous. Do not waste your money. read more

We are big time Haunters ! We travel to all haunts so on this weekend we come to NC to a few haunts and this is the Worse one we have ever been in . Am not one to give bad comments ! But little children was running thur the clown section ! That was working for the haunt : on Thur the other part was teen age or younger saying bad words and was aslo working for haunt ! The last part was the maze and I did use my phone to get thur this part : the trailer we was in I do not know how it pass fire code : so I would would pass this haunt if you a are any type of haunter . We did the vip pass which was faster but they still let people that was staying at the campsite go thur befor us and others that had been in line for hrs . No much positive about this camp ground. We were there for only one night so it worked. The roads are washed out in several areas so driving a RV was rough. Overall the campground are old and run down. I would never stay longer then a day at this location. read more

Old outdated trashy campsites. Beer and and Soda water bottles cover the cabins and seasonal campgrounds. Littering seems to be a big problem here in NC. No recycling going on here at Midway. I don't even know how they got the Good Sam stamp of appeal. It's definitely the management! They do have a big thing for Halloween Having several junkyard trailers and fire hazard structures.in which I would not have my kids participate. Due to the broken bottles and glass everywhere. The trail that goes around their pond is appalling!!!!! Discarded trash everywhere!!! I would check out their local competition. It's not any cheaper here $$$$$ Rough campsites and impossible drive throughs. They do offer 50 amp campsites. Garbage in front of entrance. There is a dump station but very $$$$$ if you just want to dump. It's so sad because it could really be a great place. read more

My family spent 4 nights (renting 2 cabins) at Midway over the Thanksgiving holiday. Our experience was less than satisfactory. One of the cabins had a serious stinkbug infestation (20-30 bugs per day) - which the campground managers dismissed as unavoidable (in a heated and air-conditioned cabin) and a resident bird complete with bird droppings in multiple rooms. Although both kitchens were marketed as including a coffee pot, only one did - and that was a single cup model. No cups or utensils were provided - which would not have been a problem if we knew in advance. We were so happy that we brought our own sheets and towels - the one's provided were unacceptable. The "stocked" fishing pond seemed to support numerous ducks but no other form of life was spotted in the completely opaque brown water after multiple days of fishing. The campground obviously catered to larger RVs but there was not a single trail or walking path anywhere on the property. My bad for assuming campers of every kind were hoping to enjoy an outdoor experience . That did no happen for us. read more

This post is more about our situation than the cg, but it is hoped, informative. We found this campgrounds online and out of desperation. Hurricane Florence necessitated our evacuation on OBX, so we drove inland. We were placed by the edge of the small pond on a drive thru site with a concrete pad and outdoor furniture! It felt like we had the entire place to ourselves. By the time Flo made it inland, many flooding hazards were displayed on my phone app. I asked if we could move to a place higher than next to the pond. At first, we were told not to worry, the water never made it to the site, but I insisted and they finally moved us. They were right, the next day I saw the old site was safe, but I thank the gentleman who showed us to the new site during the deluge of water. All the folks we met who worked at Midway were friendly and helpful. The pond is stocked for catch and release fishing. read more

Beautiful campground, rustic area, they had lots of fun things for kids to do. They had a haunted house, pool, trampoline, a catch release pond, game room, laundry mat. Beautiful woodsy spots, cement areas for each motorhome space, and furniture were provided. They were incredibly friendly and the atmosphere was wonderful. We stayed 2 nights, I wish we could have stayed longer. 10 stars. read more

Overall it was a pleasant 2 night stay. Sites are VERY close together. Our site (14) was on a row of long term campers. It was level and shaded but very narrow so no room at all to spread out. The campground is older and dated but quiet and seemed well maintained for the most part. The roads throughout the campground could definitely use some fresh gravel. As well, the gravel at our site was sparse and there were some muddy spots to maneuver around. There are plenty of fun amenities for the kids. We used the pool (nice & big), jumping pillow, game room, fishing pond, playground and basketball court. The reasons I didn't give 4 stars were because of how close we were to the next camper, how cramped our site was and the condition of the roads. read more

Rip off! Came here to dump our RV, buy propane etc. They told us it was $25 for dump. The lady was polite as she tried to take advantage of us and I was polite when I told her that was absurd and that my review would explain this. I expected to pay, but I've never see such extortion for a dump in traveling the USA. Needless to say we moved on. I would avoid this one. Support parks that show respect for travelers. It's easy to tell when a park owner has never RV'd themselves. read more

A little hiccup in the beginning with our cabin not being cleaned, but it was a minor communication. What a great place. The cabin was perfect and clean. The pool was clean and had a deep end. There was a blow up pillow that my son will love to bounce on. The showers were the cleanest I've ever seen in a camping area. I would definitely recommend Midway. So much to do. I do wish they had paddle boats or canoes, but you can always bring your own. read more

We stayed here one night. The park looks run down and in need of an update. The roads were gravel and mud and very rough. I had to really be care driving through the campground. When we arrived there was trash left in the fire pit. There was old equipment setting around in several places as well as old tree limbs piles up. They have a lot of recreational things to do but they all look rundown. I don't think I will stay here again and I can't recommend it to others. read more

Nice family campground! This was our first time taking our pop-up camper out. The owners were super nice! This campground is perfect for families. The pool was in great shape and very clean. The restrooms and showers were also very clean. My child loved the jumping pillow! There are pedal cars to rent, mini golf, corn hole, horseshoes, volleyball, basketball, fishing and an arcade. We stayed in spot #37 which is a perfect spot for pop-up campers. It was nice and level and in the shade. It had a cement patio with a table and chairs. Great campground! Lots of fun! read more

We trailer camped here 6/8/14 and were very pleased. Friendly staff. Stocked small store. Pool and free fishing pond. Caught 2 fish even! We had spot 20 right next to the pond very nice! Highly recommend. Easy on and off the 40 highway. Only small negative was that the cable box was too far from our trailer limited by the sewer hole location. Boo hoo lol. No biggie. Good rv campground. Saw people tent camping too. Oh and there is a mini golf course onsite! read more

The pictures on their sites are false and outdated. We went to check in got to the cabin and it looked nothing as pictures showed. The bathroom toilet had urine and toilet paper left in it. We were informed it couldn't be fixed however we can be upgraded to brand new cabin. Sounds great right nope nothing but issues. Cabin wasn't done nor ready for guest. They were installing toilet and water was all over floor as we walked in. That fixed were informed no sinks or hot water but shower worked. Heat didn't work either. The beds for this cabin weren't even on site. They took mattresses from the cabin we were suppose to stay in. My sons had to share the bottom bunk because the two mattresses made it safe versus the one which showed the slates of the bunk making it a safety risk. The next day maintenance came in fixed hot water and heat. Plus put together the kitchen sink. They left our cabin unlocked. Water pour out of the shower due to improper door size and not sealed. The floor had wAter under it and was seeping out. The site wasn't level and trash was left in a burn pile random screws nails found. A mountain of gravel left on site. No grill it was on porch not put together for use. The final day of our stay when we just had enough was when they shut the hot water off because of a leak in wall from bathroom sink. My fiancée and I had enough. We were done and didn't think this was fair to our children no less us. It definitely put a damper on a family getaway. As children ran freely without parental supervision at all hours. What seemed like a nice gesture an upgrade it really wasn't. It was just an attempt to not loose money. I will not return and disappointed about lack of transparency. I feel like they wanted us out as they had the cabin booked for upcoming weekend and at the premium rate read more

We stayed here for three days enroute to a family get together. This was a very quiet, very friendly campground. The facilities were clean and the staff were both helpful and friendly. The CG was convenient to many recreational sites and nice restaurants. We enjoyed our time here. Just note that the roads within the grounds are narrow, and may need some carful maneuvering upon departure. read more
