Atmosphere/service: make reservations if possible as it gets pretty busy. It's a very cozy space which is nice. We came here as a giant group of 10 with a reservation so I'm not sure if it was because of our group size that the service was slow. Our waitress (we had one) did the best she could to make sure our waters were filled, but the food definitely took 2 hours to come out. We were all pretty starving by then, it would have been nice to be notified if our orders were next or just check in on us about it since we were just in limbo wondering when we would eat. Food/price: they have gluten free and vegan options! - Chick chacks ($12): a part of their pubfare category. Basically they're chicken nuggets that come with 2 sauces. I don't remember one of them because it was just straight spicy vinegar but the gochujang one was very good. (3.5/5) - Utah lamb sheppards pie ($18): a bit gamey, comes out in a nice hot pot bowl. Very hearty, with mashed potatoes/cheese on top and plenty of meat in the filling. There was a bit of a cumin/curry flavor to the meat which was pretty good. Overall, not bad (3/5) - My friend had the chef's choice cut which happened to be ribeye ($46) and it came with a sweet potato and au gratin casserole and roasted veggies. My wife and I went here for our 20th wedding anniversary dinner. The place was very nice and service was great. We had the fondue appetizer. It was good, but the Swiss fondue was not very strong so it was a little disappointing. However.....I had the Parmesan crusted pork tenderloin and it was AMAZING. It was very flavorful and very filling. My wife ordered the orange chicken. It was good, but it definitely had lavender in the ingredients because it was a little strong...I could smell it before even taking a bite. I'd highly recommend this place to anyone. While staying in Midway Utah, we shopped at Midway Mercantile. Not only is the store stocked with regular inventory, it also has plenty of alternatives for my vegan friend in the fresh food section. The shelves were stocked with many options. I also had lost my reading glasses and when approaching the turnstile with the glasses on them, the first thing I notice was a price of $1.99. I was very pleased at this cost- I bought two pairs! A bit disappointed that the juice bar was closed down inside the store but as I was leaving, I noticed a gentleman straightening a shelf and asked when it would open. He was so friendly and kind and stopped working to explain he would be opening a coffee shop in that space with pressed juices. That kind of customer service rarely exists as well as a grocery store that is stocked so nicely with fresh foods! It also has a bakery and deli !!! read more

This place was so delicious. Every single thing we ate or drank tasted so fresh, well crafted, and DELICIOUS. We got the preacher town and the gimlet as our drinks and they were very refreshing! We started with the oysters and the bacon wrapped dates. I will echo what everyone else said about the dates and that you CANNOT skip them. You must get them and good luck stopping yourself from buying multiples. The blue cheese cream added to the plate was such a good pair too. We got the duck and NY strip special. The duck was cooked perfectly and presented beautifully. Highly recommend ordering it if it's on the menu when you go. The butter on top of the NY strip was so flavorful and really helped the steak stand out. It was also cooked perfectly medium rare! I'd order it again and again. We ended with the hot fudge sundae which is made with homemade fudge and local vanilla ice cream and it tasted just as you'd expect! the owner came by to all the tables making sure everyone was cared for and their food was good. I am sure if we had any single problem with anything, he would've taken care of it immediately. Also, I had no idea this place was so massive! Ambiance was busy and cheerful with friendly staff. I ordered the Parmigiano-Crusted Pork Tenderloin with the penne. I should have asked if balsamic was a glaze or vinegar style. It was vinegar and was much too acidic for my taste. The high acidity overpowered the ingredients in the dish. A balsamic glaze would have delicately enhanced all the flavors in the dish. We were in town for a family wedding. Our local relatives have been telling about this place for some time and we had a chance experience it first hand last Thursday evening. The food was outstanding, service was attentive and responsive. The chef/owner John came out and sat with us sharing stories of the local ingredients. My son-in-law and his friend said the steaks were the best they have ever had. I had the trout special, and, it was special. Layers of flavor and super fresh. The tl;dr is go here and save room for dessert. Made a reservation for after we went to the ice castles. Arrived about 20 minutes early but they were able to seat us quickly. DJ was our server and he was great! We had a fun time with him. Starting off we had the bacon wrapped dates and the beer cheese soup. Both were delicious. We were scraping every last piece of hazelnut with the blue cheese mouse from the dates. Definitely a fun take on this dish. I overheard some dessert options around so for my main I opted for the appetizer sized pizza. I love delicata squash but bad never tried it on pizza. It was delicious! My table-mates had the lavender orange chicken and the Parmesan crusted pork. Both enjoyed them. Now the part I had been waiting all meal for: the reading of the dessert options. First, there are many options. Second, trust your gut. I kind of wanted to try the crisp and absolutely wanted the peanut butter chocolate pie. The crisp was ok. I enjoyed the locally made ice cream served with it. I would have liked the crisp itself to be a little warmer. Now let's move to the highlight of my day: the double chocolate peanut butter pie. The double chocolate aspect is because this slice of pie is served on top of homemade fudge sauce. Which was heavenly. The homemade whipped cream helped lighten things up a bit. This was a beautiful restaurant in Midway. The decor is so welcoming and rustic. They have a large back room aside from what you see when you walk in. Parking is limited so keep that in mind when showing up - there's street parking and a small parking lot. The Caesar salad was not what I expected but it was good. I shared it with 1 other person. I got the salmon tacos which was delicious and flavorful, but you'd need a smaller side to really fill you up. The burger was delicious - always a good choice. The lavender chicken was alluring because it sounds so unique. It was okay - wouldn't get it again but a good choice to try once. When you see lavender orange chicken, you wouldn't expect bone in the chicken and you'd think a subtle lavender with a lot of orange chicken (or vice versa) but the orange and lavender flavor were both strong. Very pleased with our visit up to Midway Merc. Midway itself is such a cute little town and surrounded by fall colors on the drive up the canyon set the stage. The restaurant continued with the atmosphere and the outside patio with leaves and colors was a great setting. The service was helpful and friendly and excellent. And the food - impressed with each of the things we had. Cooked well and vibrant. And in case you're wondering, like I was, the potato-yam gratin layered with kale is almost like a potato lasagna. A restaurant at this price point needs to cater to the guests, and I would say service is on par with a fast food restaurant. We were there for our third visit last week and we had a party of six people and ordered cocktails, appetizers, entrees and desserts as we had a special occasion and believed it was worth the investment. Our server was rude, inattentive and seemed resentful of having to service us and the surrounding tables. Made us feel like we were an imposition on his time. Also, service was so SLOW! Total meal took hours (and this has been the same issue we experienced in the past). Overall, inattentive/slow/rude service. Which is unexpected given the atmosphere and location. Third time is the charm and we will never go back. Our bill was close to $400 and we left feeling frustrated and sad. Never again MM. Sorry. read more
