I have no idea why this place has such good reviews. I have no idea why most places in west Seattle have such good reviews. There's two windows, so don't sit in one line of the other is open, someone will drive around you and the people inside will sit and watch you with internal laughter lol. Coffee mid. This place is in such a random location next to the Subway on East Marginal Way but because the West Seattle Bridge is closed, more people have the opportunity to drive by and try this place. Even if there's traffic, if you're a coffee lover, stop here for some great local coffee! They have a large variety of coffee, and can make things even not on the menu. They also have pastry's and some breakfast sandwiches that looked amazing, next time I'll have to try one! My husband and I both had holiday lattes, peppermint and the nutty latte. Both were really good. I would definitely get the peppermint either with extra espresso or half sweet next time but if you like super sweet coffee it's a good choice! Portside is my go to- I haven't even checked in every time I come because I am usually in a hurry to get to work! The location is really convenient, the girls are always really nice (and give my dog treats when I have her with me), and their coffee never tastes burnt or bitter. For people who are a little more fluffy and adventurous, they have fun lattes like Cap'n'Crunch with creams and syrups! I stick to my Americanos because I like a good stiff coffee in the morning, and they never disappoint. Sometimes I get a toasted marshmallow or coconut Americano if I want a little bit of sweet without watering down the caffeine. Stop in here and get a punch card! I love this place and its employees. This place opened up earlier this year, and I was so excited to discover it. I love the look of it-- this big silver barge right next to the Subway all the truckers eat at on W Marginal Way-- and I love the coffee. At first I felt like they had somehow burned it because it had a slightly bitter after-taste but that isn't the case anymore. Now their soy americano is just tasty. Well if it was possible to give them negative stars I would! We have gone there about five or six times now and every time the same drink tastes drastically different. Sometimes not even drinkable. Today the drinks were horrible! I was charged $20 for three drinks, ok, but the prices outside reflected that my cost should be $15, when I asked about it the girl said oh we'll how much does it say it is. I told her the $5 price and she said oh we'll my list says $7, well perhaps you should post your list then! Bottom line is the drinks stink with the exception of one lady who rarely works from what I can tell and then when I corrected her on the price she refunded me but still shorted me $2, but hey I guess she got her tip..... So I would caution anyone, especially when you are dead tired in the morning to double check what's being charged and what change is given! Nobody wants to be ripped off and in such a competitive buisness it's a shame considering they just lost me and everyone I know as customers! We will gladly go somewhere where what the price says is what you pay and a tip isn't added in as shorting you on change! read more
