Stopped by Miguel's Jr. located in Montclair off of central ave. I ordered a bean and cheese burrito which was delicious the beans were just like homemade! Perfect amount of cheese. I also ordered a small side of chips and guacamole! And to top off coffeechata. The coffee was delicious and it was a great size. I will be back to try their tamales and hard shell tacos!! Passed by earlier in the day and noticed the line of cars. I had to stop by and try it out. Wow! Great new find. Had the Carne Asada burrito and a shredded chicken tostada and tue mango lemonade. Absolutely fantastic!! Portions are generous and delivered fresh to your table. Ambiance is casual. Adriana took my order and made some great recommendations prompting me to order a shredded beed taco before I left. Wow this was a juicy and delicious taco. The corn tortilla was amazing and unlike anything I have ever had anywhere else. This being their opening day, they all worked extremely well together and handled the large influx of customers. This Miguel's is my new favorite. The inside is open and clean. The music wasn't too loud. We had two garage burritos, og carne burrito, spicy chicken tamale and churro. It came out ~$40. Great experience and customer service! Came here for the first time for a seed oil free drive-thru place since I had my toddler in the car. I just so happened to pull in during breakfast, which is served until 11am at this location. I ordered 2 BRC burritos for my little guy to try, the sunrise burrito for my husband, and the beef machaca breakfast burrito for myself (no cheese) - came out to $27. I found out later that I received $2 off each BRC burrito for a Valentine's day promo?? Cool lol. I also added a caramel filled churro after the gentleman taking my order informed me that their churros are also fried in lard! Amazing! Anyway, I ate the entire machaca in the parking lot & have no regrets. The meat was nice and tender, well-seasoned, and went well with both the red and green salsas. The churro was also nice. Just ordered taquitos with the guac on the side and they're swimming in the guac. Wish I didn't order extra. Also heard the car in front of me get offered a free taco but wasn't offered anything. Getting my order right would've been the least they could do. Has just enough spice and all the flavor. Elevates every dish I've tried it on. I really like it on the taquitos. And the customization you're able to ask for with any dish is so cool. Add onions, cilantro, salsa. Side of lemons. I always order churros after my meal too- they're filled with hot caramel and go so well with the horchata. Helps get rid of the spice in the mouth from the Serrano salsa lol 10/10 recommend. I sit in often with my newborn- he likes the music- and I've noticed there's a lot of regulars and returning customers. The friendliness and familiarity with staff members is so refreshing you really do feel at home here. It's always a pleasant experience. Hi my name is Kathy I have been going to miguels forever and I am thrilled to have one now in upland and we've been there at least every two weeks if not more Unfortunately my husband went in for takeout and ordered two garbage burritos one with Chile Verde and one carne asada. First of all there was maybe one or two chunks of chili Verde so he was disappointed. The carne asada was not carne asada it shredded Meat I'm not sure what it was. It kind of freaked me out because I had no idea what I was eating but I knew it wasn't carne asada. So it cost us $25 for two burritos that were not right. I paid $12.98 for carne asada. $25 for dinner was like we were just throwing the money away. I'm sorry for the complaint. But when we spend $25 it's a treat for us with our income. The burrito had what looked like a bit of shredded meat. It definitely was not carne asada. I was truly afraid to eat it because I had no idea what I was eating. But it was not carne asada. Plus it had that barbacoa taste which I don't like. The burrito ended up in the trash where it belonged. I just threw money away read more

If you have not tried Miguel Jrs you should. Their carne asada street tacos are delicious. The meat is tender and flavorful, their green salsa adds extra flavor. I also tried chicken taquitos. I was so excited to find out a Miguel Jr's was moving into my neighborhood, I've heard so much about them but never tried it. The first visit we ordered food online for pickup, but the food was not ready at the designated time. I waited patiently for my food, which sat on the back counter for several minutes before they set it in the pick up area. While I waited I did take note of the simple but clean and comfortable dining area. When I got home with the food, I was missing a taco and chips, but what we did receive (chili relleno, rice and beans, taquitos, and original burrito with chicken) was very tasty. I know they had some wrinkles to straighten out as they had just opened a couple weeks before so I'll give them another chance soon. read more

Sunday 1/12/25 about 12pm. We had been here once before a few weeks ago and enjoyed our meal so we decided to try this new Miguel's location again. First of all, this place is very clean and inviting. It wasn't super busy so we pretty much had our choice is seats. Second, the service is awesome. Everyone seems to care that you have a good experience. They actually got my burrito order wrong and upon me mentioning it, they corrected it quickly and with an attentiveness you don't see anymore in inexpensive sit down/carry out restaurants. Again we thoroughly enjoyed our meals and left satisfied and happy. We will definitely be coming back soon. read more

First time eating here, we ordered the CARNE ASADA BURRITO, and a chicken tamel. The tamel was ok, no complaints. But as far as the burrito goes...it was anything but carne asada. The meat looked and tasted like shredded beef it didn't resemble anything like carne asada. The manager claimed it was ranchero. He was either lying or they just don't know how to cook asada. I discovered Miguel's Jr. in Grand Terrace about 20 years ago, and their lineup of burritos is incredible. The best one is the Beef and Potato Burrito -- pure heaven with beef, rich sauce, and potatoes. Simplicity at its finest. The Chile Relleno Burrito is also fantastic, with either Chile Verde or Carne Asada. The Garbage Burrito is a great take on the Gringo Burrito (AKA Taco Bell's Burrito Supreme), but done with real Mexican flavors. My main complaint is their "hot sauce" -- on a scale of 1 to 10, I'd rate it a -1. They really need a hotter sauce that is paired with their flavor profiles. Heck, they should bring in Gringo Bandito! This location opened a few months ago, and the reviews have been surprisingly mixed. However, one thing that stands out is the store manager, William. I originally met him when we was working at a Del Taco in Ontario. (I have a few reviews of that location) One of my friends owns several Arby's. I actually tried to get him to interview there but he chose to stay at Del Taco. William is building a team of workers who don't have the typical "DGAF" fast food attitude. They introduce themselves, ask how you're doing, and genuinely care about serving customers. There's a young woman (about 18 years old?) who is constantly hustling -- from the drive-thru to counter service, cleaning tables, maintaining the bathrooms, and even taking orders from cars outside. She's going to be incredibly successful with that kind of work ethic. Another employee came to the counter while I was ordering to pick up his paycheck. He thanked William for taking a chance on him and expressed how much he loves working there. During this, another manager took the time to help a family with photos at the cutout board. It's clear that this is a genuine team that's coming together in a way I've never seen at any Miguel's Jr. before. William is a tremendous leader, despite being a Dallas Cowboys fan (lol). Whomever recruited him away from the Del Taco in Ontario was a genius. While I've read some reviews about service struggling a bit -- which is expected at a new location -- I've had positive experiences. For example, my friend had an issue with a drive-thru order, and they resolved it in a professional manner. Additionally, they're launching new products like the California Burrito and Carne Asada Fries, which puts a strain on an already new kitchen staff. Personally, I loved the original carne asada Miguel's served a few years ago. The current version is okay, but they could improve by using quality flap meat and seasoning. They should reach out to South Bay Abrams for their Carne Asada Seasoning. Just marinate overnight with a little onion and cilantro before grilling (we used to sell out every day when I worked as a butcher). As for the California Burrito, I grew up in San Diego, where every place made them great. For a perfect California Burrito, you need thick fries like those from The Hat, fresh Pico de Gallo, jack cheese either grilled onto the tortilla or grated, great guacamole, and juicy carne asada. Miguel's version has mediocre fries, and the steak is a bit dry (I've tried it at the Ontario and Upland locations, and it was the same). Hopefully, they'll get it right because it has potential. Overall, I highly recommend this Miguel's Jr. primarily because of William and his great staff. William is teaching them true hospitality. I encourage you to skip the drive-thru and go inside for a great experience. Lastly, I do hope they bring back the salsa bar now that COVID has been over for years. read more

I went to Miguel's Jr. yesterday for lunch with a coworker. It was opening day, so it was quite busy with a drive-through line that snaked all the way through the parking lot into the street, and a packed dining room. In spite of this, the staff managed it all very well. We got our food quickly, and the staff members we interacted with were very friendly and accommodating. The food was great as well! I got the "garbage burrito" with carne asada, which was very tasty (like a very fresh, much better Burrito Supreme.) The beans in particular stand out as a step above what you usually find in a casual dining place. The prices seem great for what you get, the restaurant is spotless and inviting. No complaints whatsoever. I will definitely be back (probably more often than I should.) read more

Really nice inside. I grew up with Miguel jr burritos in my highschool lunch in corona. I was so excited to see one in upland where I have moved to 10 yrs now. Was traveling to Corona and then rancho/fontana location to get my fix. Tonight we came into the new upland location and keyerra was absolutely amazing. So we go to this location just recently opened the worker taking the orders his greeting was pretty much zero except to say "what do you want " so we order , the dining area looks like a 5 year has wrecked havoc very messy. It is taking a bit to get our order so I go to the counter , oh did I mention the worker taking our order was the manager ‍ so he tells me we have a lot of orders we will call your number ok fine . Now we are #74 he calls 76 then 69 five more minutes pass after waiting about 20 minutes already and calls 74. The food was what you'd expect from Miguel Jr's average. However when I went to put the sauce on my taco there was a round rubber ring in the sauce so I politely go to the counter to let the manager (and I say manager very loosely) about the extra surprise in my sauce he says "huh don't know what that is do you want another one" No I don't want another one I want you the so called manager to act like one ! Clean up your dining area greet the customers with kindness and apologize for the rubber ring in the sauce!!! I recommend maybe driving through but until the owner gets a handle on their staff it's not going to go well. read more
