Location 4: In a large shopping plaza on the North side of Ventura Blvd in Tarzana, California, East of Reseda Blvd. Plenty of self parking. Venue: 3: Tiny venue with a few tables inside. Small sushi bar (less than 10 sears). Very limited outdoor seating. They do take reservations by phone. Service: 4: Servers are friendly, polite and helpful. Food: 4: Large and diverse menu of sushi, sashimi, appetizers and specialty rolls. Excellent, top notch high quality nigiri and sashimi, appetizers and specialty rolls. The owners strive to have a variety of exotic sushi options from all all over the world as well as unique preparations. As a gourmet sushi connoisseur, I appreciate this a lot.. Prices are more or less on par with other higher quality Japanese restaurants. Drinks: 4: Beer (on tap and in bottles), wine and sake. The Last Word 4: Nice, solid option for sushi fix if you are in the area. Highly Recommended!

Popped in for lunch and this place did not disappoint. Its a small location with friendly service and delicious food. I am trying not to overeat lately and that is very difficult to do when you have good sushi. Needless to say, I had a very hard time not ordering more food. My first selection was the Albacore sashimi and it was magnificent. The fish was fresh, it was lightly salted, and practically melts in your mouth. Next, I ordered the Tarzana roll which was excellent. It tasted fresh and was balanced well with flavors. My favorite part was the crispy onion. What I really liked about this place was that the eel sauce was not overused making it sweet. The rolls taste good on their own. Definitely stop by if you're considering it.

Had lunch with my mom and son earlier today. Our first time here recommended by friends. It's a small and cozy sushi restaurant with wonderful customer service. Very friendly and attentive staff. We enjoyed our lunch here . The rolls we got were fresh and the prices are reasonable. Some of the rolls we ordered had to much going on as far as sauces. Well sauce, creamy sauce, mayo sauce, chili oil etc on one roll. I couldn't taste the fish on some rolls, all I tasted was the sauce. But the ones without tooo many sauces were delicious. I really liked the albacore on fire roll. The second favorite was the crazy tuna toll. We also enjoyed the spicy tuna hand roll. The rest were too saucy ... Next time I'll focus more on sashimi and skip the rolls. Overall a great place to eat .... Cozy and welcoming ambiance.

Long time listener, first time caller! We've been coming to Miho for years, so this review is long overdue. I could write a dissertation on how good it is, so I'll keep it to a couple of points. 1. Sushi is always fresh! Japanese fish gets flown in multiple times a week. You know it's good when they put the Japanese fish on a chalkboard rather than on the menu. 2. Service and ambiance is fantastic. Miho is a small family/friend owned restaurant, so it feels like welcome home 3. We always have fun. There are nights that Miho feels like a bar at the end of the night, some nights we break out into song and dance, other nights are pure comedy! Always a good time I normally have best bites, but all bites are best at Miho. The photos from this night were all off menu items. Ask for them if you want a taste experience and a ton of fun

The salmon lover roll is literally sooo good, I will be going back for this roll again. The crispy rice with tuna was good too! Staff were nice and customer service was great as they are really attentive. It's a tiny, cute, casual spot. It seems a bit hidden as it's in a larger plaza, but the quality of the fish was really good!

I've lived near here for two years and didnt even know about this place?! Don't let that be you. Go here NOW. If you want our exact experience, let this be your order. Hot Green tea Edamame Miso soup Toro(fatty tuna) sashimi The Caterpillar Roll The Salmon Lover Roll You wont regret it. The fish freshness and quality was amazing for the price. The ambience was so cute. I felt like I was tucked away somewhere in japan. I loved the Gyotaku (painted fish print) along the wall. Our server was so kind and kept our tea full Thank you Miho Sushi i'll be back

Nice cozy spot in tarzana. Service was friendly, quick, and the rolls were very good. The ingredients were very high quality, the cucumber and green onion really stood out to me. Good price as well. Had 3 rolls. Albacore cut roll was nice, nothing too fancy but I liked it. Generously sized if you're comparing it to a typical sushi restaurant. Yellow Crab Roll - Great flavors and textures in this one. I could eat a whole meal consisting of just this. Only issue is that there was a bit too much sauce at some points, but I still loved it. Baked scallop roll - Warm, soft, and savory! My partner described the taste as "cute". Had a hint of sweetness too. Big fan, I'll be back to try more next time. Thank you!

With so many good sushi restaurants on Ventura I'm not sure how this one has such good reviews. It's okay. Sort of felt like the dive bar of sushi without cheap prices. I was immediately turned off after using the bathroom, it was disgusting which made me question the cleanliness of the whole place. The service was good. The Star of the meal was the spicy tuna on crispy rice (no extra sauce.) probably some of the best I've had. Miso soup good. Everything else was very average.

Obsessed with this place!!! Authentic sushi restaurant with old school vibes. Fresh fish! Love their specials menu. I came 3 days in a row haha. Love that they don't close between lunch and dinner. Staff is so friendly!

I have been in this plaza so many times and never noticed Miho Sushi. It truly is a hidden gem! The spicy tuna crispy rice is one of the best I have ever had! All of the fish was fresh, and service was excellent. The restaurant is very small but has good vibes.

This is definitely my new favorite sushi place in the valley!! I can't believe I haven't been here sooner. The fish was sooo fresh. Their spicy tuna is SO good, one of the best I've had. But their Miho roll is one of the best rolls I've ever had, and I never really choose to eat rolls. The sauce they put on it is amazing and the roll is huge! They definitely don't skimp on the amount of fish they put in their rolls. All the workers were very friendly and we got our food quickly. The restaurants in a huge plaza so parking isn't a problem at all!

Appetizers (plural), a main course, and even a dessert were all excellently prepared and served, from start to finish. We hadn't been there since they built the bar and it looks quite nice, though cramped. Noor was our very friendly server who made sure we had everything we needed. Throughout our time we had: Estrella Lager ($8) refreshing, as always Old Fashioned ($12) good, though Jim G said it tasted like it was batched House red (Chianti $12) good 2 Giant Prawns ($7 per prawn) great flavor (shell on, btw) and served on some bread with a tasty garlicky sauce. Pricey, but tasty. Lamb Ribs ($13 for two ribs). Tasty and tender. Almost too sweet, but good. Burger and fries ($19 limited to the first five orders). Both were good. We had medium rare and I would recommend medium rare plus. Why only 4 stars? It's still pricey, even though it's happy hour. The deals are good, relative to the normal price, but their prices are on the high side and the seating area is pretty cramped. Hh outside when it's not blazing might be the way to go.

I've had oyster shooters before and loved them but didn't like their take on it here. Way too much horseradish and the vodka portion was way off (too little vodka) and unbalanced. Oysters Rockefeller - 4 1/2 stars. Quite meaty and delicious, such a great flavor and take on this classic dish. Crab Cake - 4 stars. Quite the large portion, and quite good! Our waitress (who was fabulous) brought out an ice cream Sunday to celebrate the birthday occasion and I have to say it was also fabulous! We were able to walk right in and grab a table as the afternoon rush was over. First, it is a cute restaurant with nice ambiance inside. You can also eat outside it looked like, but it was hot so that was not going to be an option. Started with the mini crab cakes and the tuna on crispy rice. The crab cakes had a good amount of crab in them, which was really nice, but they definitely tasted under seasoned. The tuna on crispy rice was great though, topped with avocado and a spicy mayo. Nice crispiness on the outside, soft rice in the middle, good flavor, just a nice bite. For entrees we tried the chimichuri steak sandwich, the French dip and the lobster roll. The lobster roll looks the part but was light on the actual lobster, in our opinions. Felt the bread to everything else ratio was really off, so it feels like mostly bread with some lobster here and there. The chimichuri steak sandwich comes with arugula, gruyere, roasted peppers and grilled shallots and was a decent bite but not overly memorable. The French dip, on the other hand, was really tasty with that au jus and melted cheese. That was the real winner. Overall, nice ambiance, drinks were decent, some misses and some hits. If you go, definitely get the French dip and the tuna of sticky rice, slip that liner roll and the mini crab cakes and up to you on the chimichuri steak sandwich.

The people who I assume own the restaurant, working as both the waiters and chefs, were incredibly kind, welcoming, and genuinely passionate about what they serve. Since we were completely new to Indonesian cuisine, they patiently answered our questions and gave us great recommendations, which made the experience even better. This is exactly the kind of small business you want to support. The flavors were unlike anything I've had before, and I loved getting to try something so different. My favorite dish was easily the grilled fish. It reminded me of the Filipino grilled fish I grew up eating, so it had a comforting familiarity while still showcasing its own distinct Indonesian flavors. If you're looking for authentic Indonesian food or simply want to try something new, I highly recommend LaaLaaPan. I'll definitely be coming back to explore more of the menu.

The balado wasn't spicy, but the sambal definitely was. I also missed having sambal ijo and some gulai gravy, both of which would have made the plate feel more complete. The bakwan jagung had a similarly homemade style. Depending on your preferences, it will either make you miss your mom's cooking or leave you craving a crispier, restaurant-style bakwan jagung packed with corn kernels. The soda gembira, like many Indonesian places here, use Sprite instead of club soda or plain soda water, which makes it far too sweet. The syrup they used tasted authentic, though. Overall, you may love this place specifically because the food tastes like something you grew up eating. However, if your preference leans more toward polished, restaurant-style Indonesian food, it may feel a little underwhelming.

Then all of a sudden the fans stopped working. Our waiter informed us that there was no power in the entire restaurant inside or out. Correct me if I'm wrong but shouldnt places like these have back-up generators just in case? Shortly thereafter he came and told us LADWP would arrive in 1 hour which literally means 2 to 3 hours minimum so instead of having our dinner for breakfast we asked to close out our bill (which should have been comped but they did not even deduct anything for the tremendous inconvenience), after just two plates of Hamachi Crudo and four drinks. The bill was presented to me and I figured there's no way all of this costs $240 I said I want to see an itemized receipt they came back with a $160 bill so more shady shit thrown to the shade. Needless to say but I will, the easiest one and done in my life and I've had quite a bit if you read my reviews. Inexcusable ridiculousness and zero compensation. It was complete chaos as people were canceling left and right and more people were flooding in as the reservations backed up I hope God helped them through the night. It's one thing to lose power unfortunate yes, but to not have a backup generator and then not even take care/compensate your customers is an abysmal excuse for management and a restaurant, not to mention the blatant theft attempt.

King's has long been a solid, enjoyable place to get a good meal, cocktail and, if you're in the…read moremood, very fresh raw bar seafood. Though it's the more casual offshoot of Water Grill, King's retains a sleek decor and top-flight service, and you definitely get an excellent experience for your buck. In fact, cocktails are a good few dollars less here than at other places in the area, especially Blvd Steak right next door. My martini was very cold, well-made and of a very generous size, so no complaints on that front at all. My wife ordered the Macadamia Crusted Halibut, with a double dose of starch: mashed potatoes and Mac & Cheese. The fish was fresh, meaty and nicely cooked, with a juicy interior and a very flavorful crust. The potatoes also had good flavor, but I found the mac & cheese to be wanting -- a bit too much like the packaged variety. However, my wife really liked it, so what do I know?! For my entree I ordered the Shrimp Louie Salad, a very generously portioned bowl of greens and assorted chopped veggies plus avocado, onion, hard boiled eggs and cool, poached shrimp, all topped with a Louie dressing. Everything was fresh as could be, the shrimp tasted terrific, and the avocado was a nice foil for the onion and chopped carrots. It was a very enjoyable entree salad. Service was friendly and attentive from 2 different bartenders, and it turned out to be a very satisfying, impromptu Saturday date night for a couple of no-longer-kids!

I am genuinely curious…read more I ordered a Cesar salad with grilled shrimp on the side. When it came, the shrimp was not cooked through. Mind you, I used my fork to poke at all 6 shrimp. The same fork I'd started eating my salad with. I get the waiters attention and let him know the shrimp are still 'al dente'. Again- I've used my personal fork poking all 6 shrimp as well as touching one with my fingers. Waiter comes back with said SAME SHRIMP. The f'ing chef just threw them back on the grill and they brought them back out to me. Waiter says very proudly 'he tossed them back on, should be to your liking now' Me: he tossed the same shrimp back on the grill??? Proud waiter: YUP! First of all- you don't toss uncooked back onto the grill. You make new ones. RIGHT?????????? Second of all- my FORK from my mouth, touched those shrimp and you just told me those shrimp went back on the grill you use to cook other people's food with ?? Disgusting Pretty sure that's against a law?? The shrimp were absolutely overcooked and now burnt - and you're a fish house. Do better Not sure how many size 16 people parties we will be having here anymore.
