Terrible terrible service..took 45 minutes to get seated even though there was 2 tables open just not cleaned. Waitress took our order and we finally got soup and salad 30 minutes later. While waiting for our sushi she came back and asked if we needed our bill... we said we haven't even gotten meals yet... she said she'd go check on our food and didn't come back... just busy dealing with to go orders! We had to keep waving her down to find out what was happening. Yes you may be under staffed and dealing with your to go orders but you actually have people in your restaurant now so hire some people !! And until you do, don't leave your customers sitting and waiting endlessly to find out what's happening With their meal! read more

I went to Mika Sushi for the first time today. Not only is their sushi delicious and well-priced, but they're staff are so nice. I was helped today by their cashier, Grace. Within minutes it was clear that she was a hard worker and took her job seriously. She had amazing customer service skills, and her kindness made my day. Just tried Mika Sushi for the first time. It's probably the best Sushi I've had in a long time. I got the lunch special with three items. I picked gyoza, mixed sashimi and mixed sushi. The sushi tasted very fresh and delicious. It's probably the best $11 dollars I've ever spent. I left a $3 tip so $14. I would definitely come here again. My husband and I have been coming to Mika for years now and they never disappoint. Service is always wonderful and even when they are busy they are quick and take great care of you! The yummy crunch is a great hidden gem and the seared albacore sashimi melts in your mouth. Gyoza is also amazing and basically anything with avocado is always creamy and delightful! First of all, let me start with saying that I love sushi, and I have tried a lot of sushi and a lot of different restaurants. This by far is probably the worst place I've ever been to. Not because of the service, but of the lack of originality in the actual dishes. Nothing actually looks like it supposed to look. If you have a favorite dish somewhere and you see it on the menu here it will be a completely different dish. Then they use fillers in a lot of their sushi rolls. I guess to save money. You're literally paying for imitation crab in almost every single roll. I ordered my favorite dish and what I receive was a fried dish with literally just imitation crab. It was pretty gross, I ended up sending it back, and then the actual chef made a remark in a language that he thought I couldn't speak, but I clearly understood. This restaurant has rude workers, slow, workers, and on top of that the food takes forever to get to your table. Keep in mind that it was lunchtime on a Thursday, so I can only imagine how it would be on a weekend. I'm so glad that I came here because now I know to never come back. Everything was pretty gross. Wanted to try something new so we came here. Sushi was okay! I loved their baked options, just wish they had more without shrimp. They serve many rolls with mayo, though. I like mayo but it all starts tasting the same after a while. The only real flaw (or at least made our dinning experience awkward) was the waitress. When she took our orders she let us know the portions were large and we said that it was okay, we'd still like to order our 5 plates (we'd seen the reviews, a lot of them said they weren't all that big and we planned on sharing the 5th) but she pressed again that it was a lot. We told her we were sure and she left. Each time she came with a plate she'd make a comment, and when we were done with our meal she was very surprised we'd finished it all. She said something around, "Wow, you finished all of that? So much! You girls must have been very hungry! " We kindly laughed and said yeah, we hadn't eaten all day. Ive never had grey pinkish tuna before. This tuna was old and berely edible, Nextxttime i will buy my sushi at my local chevron where i know it was made within the last few weeks. Everything about this little Japanese restaurant was amazing!! The service, food and the ambiance! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by the staff and we got sat right away. Our waitress came immediately to take our drink order and she came back with the drinks not too long after. She gave us enough time to browse the menu; she wasn't hovering over us waiting to take our order. The appetizers came out promptly, but for some reason the last two rolls took a little longer. We didn't even notice how long it had taken because she had been very helpful and attentive from the minute we got sat. She made sure to refill our drinks and and made sure that we had everything we needed. She apologized about the long wait and additionally she took 15 % off the bill to compensate for wait. Now the food... all the rolls we got were absolutely delicious! We ended up getting the baked salmon, spicy salmon, spicy tuna, rainbow roll and salmon skin roll. Everyone in our family loves salmon. The rolls tasted very fresh. Aside from the rolls we ordered miso soup, beef udon noodles and edamame. The broth for both soups was very flavorful; not too salty. I am not from this area, but I will definitely have to come back to try more of their rolls when I am in Camarillo. I recommend it to everyone! read more

The sushi's were average. They look more appetizing in the menu than it did when served. The 20 piece sashimi i ordered did not taste fresh. The tables were so sticky that it felt like the plates were stuck to the table with double-sided tape. Most Yelpers look at Sushi like it is a social event, and look for rolls filled with the entire kitchen. If you like rolls filled with sauces and all kinds of weird items STAY AWAY.. If you are like me and care about FRESH ingredients, and a traditional sushi menu then this is the best you can find for 20 miles. Chef Tony (hai) is the man, hand picks most all of his fish, and makes some fat slices of fish. I went here with Wilmar D. and his parents, craving sushi :) It was a Friday night and the place was completely empty which was KIND of weird, but it started filling up after we sat down. We got a really warm welcome from 3 of the sushi chef and the rest of the waiters/waitresses. Wilmar D. and I weren't very hungry so we ordered the Philly Roll, the Baked Salmon Roll, and some yellowtail sashimi. I was too scared to try the yellowtail, but apparently it was very good :) I did try the Philly Roll and the Baked Salmon Roll and both were very tasty. My only problem was that I could barely fit the sushi in my mouth; it was HUGE. But maybe I just have a small mouth? :) Something to note about the baked salmon roll was that it had spicy crab in it. I prefer the non-spicy crab, but the roll was still pretty yummy :) I liked this place and I would probably come back. It's decent food and I would like to try some of their other rolls. read more

I went here on my lunch break looking for a nice bottle of Asahi to go with my Crunch Roll (it had been a long morning at work). Anyway, I sat at the sushi bar and I was greeted by the hostess and the sushi chef. I gave them my order and it was prepared within reasonable time. The sushi chef was super sweet! He asked me how things were and if the sushi was good. Of course it was! I also chatted with him for a bit- which was nice. Because normally I do not like talking to anyone on my lunch break. Anyway, after my lunch he made me a sweet dessert that was simple, yet amazing in its design. He simply just cut up slices of an apple and drizzled some chocolate syrup on it. It was satisfying ! Mika sushi is great. We have been coming here since we moved here in Camarillo about 7 months ago. Service has always been excellent. Fish has also been always fresh. Chef Ken-San believes that if the fish isn't fresh enough he would rather not serve it. Also, I take my hat off to Ken-San for his creativity on sushi. Next time, go in there and ask for things off the menu, like "The Jay Shooter" or "The Betty Wrap". I have eaten there several times this year and I have always been pleased with their service, it is located in a shopping center but it is fairly hidden so not a lot of people know about it. The waitress is very friendly and always willing to explain the menu if you have any questions. the place has a "modern" contemporary design, with plasma TV's mounted to watch your favorite sports. also this this sushi bar, usually never has any people in in which is nice because its quiet. as for the food, it is on par with most sushi places i have eaten at, i usually get the the Unagi roll (fresh eel), Spicy tuna roll, the California roll, and the shrimp tempura roll. I have not had any of the actual lunch/dinner items but i am sure that it is just as good as the sushi. i would recommend this place if you are looking for a good sushi bar that is not very busy and has great service and food! and just recently the waitress was extremely nice enough to give us their special SAKE on the house to try out. read more
