Walking in it's a very small but peaceful atmosphere! My sister and I sat at the sushi bar as I always find it more enjoyable to watch the sushi chefs work their magic! We order 3 rolls and one bottle of cold sake. - Jay Roll: Literally tasted so amazing I wanted to cry while eating it. Highly recommend this roll if you love an impactful flavor. The shrimp tempura was perfectly crunchy underneath all the flavors from the fresh fish and delightful sauces. - Yellowtail Roll: Very yummy. I'm typically not a fan of spicy tuna as the main filling (due to the texture) but this one had enough flavor that texture didn't matter. - Spicy Salmon Roll: Very interesting as normally I'm not used to having the salmon the way they filled it inside but this was very tasty and enjoyed it. Almost similar to the Yellowtail roll. - not sure what sake we got...but it was recommended by the waiter. It was quite delicious. I will note that they do not have flavored Sake/ soju or any Hot Sake (which is what I perfer) but the sake was good enough that it didn't bother me. Great recommendation. Also, they added this surprisingly DELICIOUS cucumber salad on a couple of our sushi rolls on the side! Would come back, especially for that Jay Roll but maybe for 2 plate of it instead! read more

We've been customers for 15+ years and eat at Mika Sushi at least once a month. After today's extremely poor service we will no longer be going there due to an extremely disrespectful server. Multiple times the server purposely ignored me would serve and check on the other tables and would not attend to me. Even after I grabbed the server's attention, made direct eye contact and motioned that we needed service, the server would not come to our table and instead went up to all the other tables, asked them how they were doing, attended to them and purposely ignored me. Multiple times my husband had to get up from the table, walk up to the server and sushi bar to request attention and service. The server failed to bring me a water after multiple requests for it. My husband had to go up to the server and tell the server again that I did not receive a water. The server gave the excuse that it was about to happen. The server at that time had multiple waters on a tray ready for another table and had not yet served me a water which later came to me in a small glass in comparison to the waters given to the other table. The server deliberately made me wait a long time to receive a glass of water. Because the server would not attend to our table my husband had to go up to the sushi bar to address an allergen contamination in one of our rolls. The server didn't even bother to find out what the issue was, but instead brought back an incorrect sushi roll. Instead of waiting for the correct roll (my roll) to be redone, since everyone else was pretty much done with their meal by then, and because I was being deliberately mistreated by the server, we were fed up and left there angered and extremely disappointment. The server never apologized and was deliberate in their action to be disrespectful to us. We won't return to Mika Sushi until that particular server no longer works there. read more

Order take out on a Saturday afternoon and the food was great. I had a dynamite roll, baked salmon roll, and a Rainbow Roll. All rolls were big and were full of flavor. Only reason it's not a five star honestly was because I placed the order at 4:20 and was told it would be ready in 15-20 minutes. I arrived at 4:40 and once I arrived I was told it would be another 5 minutes understandable however it was 5:00 PM and finally someone came back and checked up on me and asked for my name and to my surprise my food had been sitting at the front desk right in front of me it was just never handed to me. Definitely not a crazy big issue but it is something they could fix on my next visit. Will give them another try. read more

This used to be a small hidden gem for decent inexpensive sushi- never great but good for the price Recently had a terrible experience there. The rice fell apart, the fish portions were tiny, the non-Japanese person serving was very inexperienced, and the taste was mediocre to be generous. The owner used to take care of customers at the sushi bar, instead he was running around doing mundane restaurant chores and the food (remember? The food is why we come there) suffered under his unwatchful eye. To top it off it was expensive- easily double what was normal. There are excellent mid level sushi places for half the price. We have only ordered take out from Mika Sushi a few times because I was too lazy to drive to Newbury Park for Sumo Sushi (our favorite sushi place). Mika is convenient and consistent with their orders. It does not have the same flavors as Sumo Sushi in Newbury Park, but it's still good. My kids really liked the California rolls with seaweed and with soy paper. I thought the spider roll was good, too. There was no wait for our pick up order and so I'm glad I know I can always count on Mika Sushi whenever we need sushi for a quick meal. Parking can be tough since there are many other restaurants in the same area. read more

On the cheaper side of good sushi, the only times I have been disappointed was when my order was wrong. But they get so busy, I can understand a mix-up once in a while. Good selection of dishes, but no bento boxes. Just combinations. Nice, small selection of sake. Staff is very friendly, maybe not the most knowledgeable. Hell yea. I've been meaning to try this place and for some reason decided during the pandemic to give it a shot. I've lived in Camarillo for a good chunk of my life but never thought to try this place until now. They're not offering everything on their menu for takeout, I think the bento lunch specials weren't available when I called. Their sushi is great for the price. Selection if rolls is on the simple end and I think that's partially how they're able to keep the prices down. I think it's definitely worth it especially compared to some restaurants with mediocre quality but higher prices. Hoping they'll have dine in available soon! Was in the mood for sushi and saw Mika on Yelp and decided to try it out . They unfortunately aren't. Doing dine in right now and they don't have any tables outside so it's strictly to go. But I decided to get a spicy tuna cut roll and crazy roll which is a deep fried California roll which came out to $14 . Their prices are pretty reasonable , I believe they the most expensive roll is $12 which is nice. Both rolls were good. I wouldn't say out of this world but they definitely satisfied my need for sushi and the portion was really nice. I put eel sauce on everything lol so I put some on both rolls and makes it that much better. The staff was friendly and nice and helpful. I will definitely be back to try some of their other rolls and I think it's definitely worth a shot if you're in Camarillo and looking for some reasonably priced , good sushi. We (family of 3) were looking for a sushi fix during our COVID-19 stay at home order. I called several places around Camarillo and Mika seemed to be the only place offering any type of family platter or family takeout special. We ended up going with the Party Platter C. Great choice and the Chef was kind enough to work around my wife's eel aversion. Three of the rolls in Platter C were eel heavy and we were able to substitute rolls that worked for both the restaurant and ourselves. I am a big sushi fan so I have visited many of the local sushi restaurants. Mika sushi was actually the first one I tried when I first moved here and it remains my favorite. They have a very diversified menu, the servers have always been very knowledgeable and kind, and their food is consistently good. I wish they had delivery either through their own service or DoorDash because many times I have to use someone else for a sushi drop when I would prefer to just have Mika's. The restaurant is small, but cozy, and you never get the feeling that you have overstayed. Worth the try, their dragon rolls are delicious and their yellowtail sashimi is always fresh and good. read more

This is a great place for a quick & inexpensive lunch or dinner when craving sushi. They are very friendly and easy to understand over the phone. Every time I've gone rather it's in person or take out, they're very accommodating. The miso soup is really good and the portion sizes are average. I have never had to wait more than 10 minutes for my food and it is always hot when I get it. I hope that they don't raise their prices because you can't beat these lunch deals. I'm not a fish eater, to be honest, but I eat at Mika regularly for the CA rolls, gyoza, shrimp tempura, and miso. I also like the teriyaki chicken. You would think that the chef would quality check the food before serving. While visiting Camarillo a week before Mother's Day, my children took me to Mika Sushi and it was OUTSTANDING! My husband and I consider ourselves to be "Sushisnobs" which means we are very particular about our Sushi and Mika met and exceeded our expectations! The rolls were abundant and fresh and we all enjoyed our experince. Our server, Nathen, did an amazing job of making sure our experience was stellar!
