I guess this is a small chain . I tried the upper east side location. I ordered the takeout. It came in a pretty box . The presentation is beautiful. The sushi is good. The service is OK. I stood there for a feed while before someone came approached me.

Love this spot! I got their $32 bento box and so worth it in my opinion. Even if you just get rolls it's like $7-$8 a roll and then they have some more elaborate ones for a little more. They also have hand rolls! Dessert was amazing, typically not tempted the yuzu cheesecake sounded too good. The rolls are huge and the chicken was one of the best, simple not too sweet or greasy and quality chicken!! Look at the chicken to rice ratio... okay that's all!

Went for lunch. The lunch specials are really good and worth the bang for the buck! Only $16 and it includes miso soup or salad with an entree choice of chicken teriyaki, salmon teriyaki or cod! Had a lovely time and the server was very friendly and attentive. The interior is relaxing and welcoming. Would come again! Left super satisfied and full.

Good lunch deal, but don't expect the food to be outstanding, which is fair for this price in the city.

I've eaten at Mikado numerous times- consistent and fresh maki rolls. Today I went for happy hour- $1 edamame, $6 sushi rolls (4 pieces each) and vegetable gyoza. The shrimp tempura is okay- heavy batter to shrimp ratio. However, the salmon avocado, tuna and salmon portions are have rice to filling ratio and are really good. I'll be back again. P.S. The cocktails are $7.00 during happy hour. My favorite is the Lychee Martini. The mango passion fruit margarita you can tell the tequila is...well but it will get the job done, aha!

We came here for lunch and it is definitely great value! I saw there was a happy hour menu too and the prices for that looked very reasonable too! I got the sweet and spicy chicken don that had rice cakes and came with the choice of miso soup or salad (I chose salad). It looked small when it first arrived but it is actually a lot of food. Service was good despite it being a busy spot and the ambiance is nice and lowkey.

I've discovered this place on Valentine's Day and I love it so much. I've never been in person but I have ordered at least three times. I always get the shrimp tempura roll and then I try to vary with everything else. It always tastes fresh, the portions are generous but the rice is not overwhelming. I love that they also give a little salmon "salad" on a side lol.

It can be tough to find good food at reasonable, affordable prices in the area. Do not sleep on Mikado, their eel rice bowl surpassed my expectations especially for a lunch special deal. Came with a miso soup or salad, devoured the soup the second I could get my hands on it. The garnishes were perfect additions to the plate, creating a well balanced meal. Service was quick, precise, and comforting throughout the experience. Will be coming back!

3.5/5 I walk by this place all the time but came here with my brother during lunch! I was surprised by how fast food came out and how packed this place was. Almost every single table was full by the time we ordered. We did come during lunch rush so they weren't able to fill our waters or teas up that frequently. Service was great! Fifi was super nice and gave us great recs. What we ordered: - unagi bowl: this was super yummy and my favorite thing we shared. Eel was soft but the skin wasn't crispy. It came with miso soup and salad - 3 rolls (spicy tuna, spicy salmon, spicy yellowtail): it didn't come with that many pieces despite it being 3 rolls. I also couldn't tell the difference between them if I'm being honest. - bento box: we got chicken teriyaki and spicy tuna hand roll. This is not a bento box in my opinion because it was just a plate of chicken teriyaki. I would pass on ordering any of the bento boxes. The hand roll was so good! The chicken was slightly fried and I've never had it like that before. - red bean ice cream Overall, pretty good lunch deal with swift and efficient service!

Fresh reliable lunch spot in the area. The lunch special was filling for me, two rolls and a soup (or salad). Carry out packaging was cut too. Service was attentive even for take out. It's cute in there, would stop by again.

Three rolls to go. $17. Spicy tuna (sucked,) salmon (good,) yellowtail scallion (tasty)

This is one of a handful of locations of this miniature OK sushi chain. A good while ago, I had an alright meal at their Brooklyn location, ordering a rather terrible spicy crab handroll (seaweed wasn't crunchy and it was a poor fake kani) along with an alright unagi don/eel over rice. It wasn't my favorite meal, but as per usual, if I didn't love a place and it just opened, I didn't leave a low-star review. Regarding this very popular location, I have been for lunch a handful of times now, getting takeout once and eating in once. The first time I got three CYO rolls to go for $17, which included spicy tuna, salmon, and yellowtail scallion. It was also supposed to come with a miso soup, but it wasn't there. They were packed, however, and there were a ton of people coming in for delivery, so I can understand them missing something, even if I was annoyed. The packaging is nice, with three small containers of wasabi, gari (sushi ginger,) and shoyu, which I didn't bother with, as I have better-quality sauces at home from Katagiri nearby. The rolls were a little bit different than other spots, with four larger pieces instead of the usual six, which I didn't mind. In terms of the fish, the spicy tuna was the weakest, as I really couldn't tell what it was as it was chopped so finely, so I guess skip the spicy rolls here, just like the other location. The salmon was a bit above average, and the yellowtail was easily the best of the bunch, with a nice buttery texture. It reminded me of another semi-fancy alright sushi chain, Bondi, which is also a bit pricey for the quality. The second time, I had a better lunch inside, as it wasn't too crowded and the service was friendly. I ordered the Salmon Ikura Don for $17, which came with fresh salmon, ikura, and picked. I'm not exactly sure why the end of the menu description is pickled, but there were some pieces of takuan/pickled daikon at the bottom, which solves that, well, pickle. The salmon was chopped similarly to bari chirashi and was again of pretty good quality, with the daikon adding some sweetness, and the rice was alright. The ikura was fine with a nice pop of occasional saltiness. The dish also came with miso soup, and it was standard, but I was happy I got it. This was again fine. If this place were in a neighborhood with a distinct lack of sushi options, I would probably rate this place higher. However, I think the nearby Dai Hachi is a better deal overall for lunch, with more consistent rolls and definitely better spicy rolls. They also haven't messed up any take-out orders, and I've ordered from them numerous times before. In terms of dons, or rather, in this case, kaisendons, I would highly recommend Kaoru on 46th instead, which offers much higher-quality fish, larger slices of said fish, a better selection such as kanpachi and otherwise, proper sushi rice, a bigger portion for the price, and better-quality miso soup to boot. I might stop in here for happy hour, as that seems like a better deal, but otherwise, it's unlikely I'll stop in here again.

Jedi mind tricks in full effect -- this box looks big but it's all smoke and mirrors. They split the sushi from the greens and edamame like it's a bento box at Nobu, but don't be fooled. No ponzu offered, which honestly feels like a violation of basic rights. What's next, no freedom of speech? Silly garnishes, no miso soup, but fish quality isn't bad -- and nigiri size is actually decent. Tuna roll was mid, yellowtail roll barely had flavor. Honestly, it's edible but nothing I'd chase. Gave it a C on my TikTok channel @therawreport -- check the full review if you want the full breakdown. TL;DR: Decent fish, gimmicky packaging, no ponzu = mood ruined.

I came here for HH with 2 people and was able to be seated immediately. Seating wise, they have some tables for 2 and 4z The HH deals here are so good!! They have cocktails on their HH menu too but when we went, only 2 of their cocktails were available. For drinks: - mango passionfruit margarita: we saw them use some mixers and were nervous that it'd be way too sweet but it was great! Very tequila forward - lychee martini: very sweet but very refreshing For food: - sushi tacos: it has the spicy tuna filling as in the roll. For $5, I think this is a great deal - rolls: only 4 pieces but I thought the yellowtail was really good quality Overall, would definitely come here again! The service was great too.

Buns were incredibly good - a close second to a joint in Chicago we ate at last weekend. Succulent meat, plenty of sauce, and just the usual pillowy bun. The edamame didn't seem spicy at first - then my face melted. Still good but a deep burning spiciness to them as advertised. For my entree I got the beef miso ramen, adding corn and an egg. The corn wasn't just a pile of kernels - but a side slice of a cob. Cool presentation. Beef was good and the broth soothed my soul. Top 10 ramen places I've been - well done.

I like that several of the items are naturally gluten free, and some can be made gluten free by request. We decided to go with three breakfast items from the brunch menu: I got the shakshuka, my sister got the Nova Benny, and we got the lemon ricotta pancakes to share. All 3 dishes were great. The shashuka came with grilled ciabatta, perfect for dipping into the sunny side eggs and tomato sauce. My sister loved that the poached eggs and smoked salmon of the Nova Benny came on top of a crispy potato latke. The pancakes were fluffy and the lemon ricotta and lemon zest elevated their flavor.
