Uncle John's Pancake House...What a Fantastic Five Star Breakfast Restaurant ...We are all Sitting outside on a beautiful Saturday Morning in Campbell, with my family from Redwood City. This is my first time here. Cool music piped outside. Love it! Great inside restaurant with so many table choices and bar seating too! Old fashioned looking but new. This is a very popular breakfast destination. I am having the Swedish Crepes with Lingonbery butter, powered sugar & lemons. My Family is having pancakes. Service is outstanding and the food is delicious. This is a Five Star Breakfast Experience. Check out Uncle John's in Campbell or The Alameda in San Jose. Bring your family like I did! Enjoy! Got the corned beef hash and coffee. Food was great. I really hate it when they use disposable cream but whatever, their choice. Do they have to blast the music so loud? Had to go outside to hear myself think. Personally I don't like so much powdered sugar on my pancakes but again personal pref. Overall the food's great but it's not a place for a peaceful relaxing breakfast. It was pretty empty too so I hate to see how loud it is when it's hopping.

I've come here a few times, and it is consistently delicious! There is plenty of seating, and parking on the street and back of the restaurant, which is a plus. The servers are always friendly & talkative. They always greet, and get your order in quickly. The restaruant is well lit and always clean, It's a nice place to eat.

Service was extremely disappointing and food was mid! Was excited to try this place before a long day of activities and their pancakes to waffles looked amazing. Upon arriving parking was very hectic, it's a small lot behind so you might need to try to park across the street or in the neighborhood. There wasn't a long wait but we got seated outside in front of the karate business next door. Big mistake because the waitress barely came over to check on us and it was hard to flag her down. We all got a griddle item with eggs, sausage and hash browns except we all got different griddle items. The waffle and french toast were okay, very average and was simple. Same for the eggs, sausage and hash browns. Just okay but I think I liked the sausage the most.

Had a delicious meal here, loved the cleanliness, chill ambiance, delicious food. I dont know why but we struggled to have anyone serve us. We got our water and our food and then were completely ignored. Had to wave down someone other than our waiter for water, more coffee, even our check. Not once did we get a top up on coffee, water, or literally anything without having to wave someone down (not our waiter, who never came). I wanted more napkins but was too frustrated to have to call someone. I just used my dirty napkin. I wanted more water so I poured some from my daughter's cup. I had to ask someone for coffee because I cant generate that on my own. This was a weekday. There were people, not empty, but less than half packed. I could see all the people but not our waiter. But when it came time to pay and tip, which I had to ask someone else for, she magically appeared and had a great big smile. Tip time! Ugh. Other than that, meal was fantastic. Corned beef hash delicious. Pancake with blueberry. Awesome. Wait staff? Please. It feels like you are trying to make me not want to come back. Which i probably won't. 4 stars for food. 1 for service.

Hung out with friends for brunch. All together it was 4 adults and 2 kids. Overall decor was decent and they had a good amount of tables. But if you are in a large group, you most likely will be split into different tables. I would say 6 would be max group. The reason I took one star is for the fact that the tables are so compact that it was hard to maneuver out like if you had to go to the bathroom. You are almost squeezing through just to get out. The food is good. I got the corned beef hash with eggs and a Swedish pancake. Super yummy. The Swedish pancake butter is really good. Next time I'll have to try the blueberry pancakes as that was recommended. The service was quick. We ordered and shortly after we got our food. The waitress stopped by and asked how everything was. I wouldn't say they went above and beyond but they did their job. Overall a good experience and I'd go back again.

The waffle was delicious. The fresh blueberry and cream toppings were excellent. However, the rest of the food items were mediocre for their prices. Service was pretty good. We joined the wait-list through Yelp and when we arrived, we were seated immediately. The diner is furnished nostalgically like a low rider. It's very pleasant to be inside.

My partner and I have been to the Alameda location and due to the lack of parking, we drove to the Campbell location for a try. My partner ordered their country fried steak and I ordered the short stack Swedish crepes with the add on of blueberries and blueberry glaze. You can add on eggs and bacon for $7. I enjoyed the short stack option that comes with 2 pieces. Overall, I loved the flavor of the lingonberry butter with the glaze and crepe. Not too sweet. Their virgin vanilla ice latte was also good. Maybe on another day, I'll try it with the rum. Service was also great - our waiter was attentive and checked in on us. The food arrived within 5 minutes, since it was slow around the time we went. Very classic diner-style interior and I liked sitting at the booth. They provide condiments (jams, maple syrup, ketchup, Tabasco sauce, salt, and pepper) already at the table. Some of the sauce handles were sticky. Loud environment.

My number one brunch place in the Bay Area, hands down! The omelette soufflé is delicious: it comes with either skillet potatoes, or hash browns, as well as your choice of pancakes or toast. Everything tastes so good; you can't go wrong here. I usually get the meat lovers omelette with pancakes. I also love the diner feel and ambience. It's very retro and inviting. Staff is also friendly.

I love finding a new breakfast spot. Uncle John's was solid. Friendly service, with counter dining, tables and booths. Their griddle options to accompany the breakfast dishes is perfect for those who can't decide between sweet and savory. Everything was as expected flavor wise, with their Hollandaise sauce a tad thicker than other places, but still very smooth and rich. We didn't feel rushed, and coffee was topped off frequently. We'll definitely be back!

My son and I came to Uncle John's for breakfast, and they did not disappoint! It was fairly busy but we were able to sit at the counter. The staff was friendly and the service was quick. I ordered one of the house specialties, California Benedict, which has pecan smoked bacon, tomato, avocado, and of course poached eggs on English muffins topped with the delicious hollandaise sauce. Yum! My son ordered the Classic Breakfast that includes two eggs (any style), hash browns, and any griddle item or toast. He got the pancakes which were huge! Everything is cooked to order and comes out hot. The place is very bright and clean and has that old fashioned cafe feel, IMO.

Yes, eat here. Classic diner fare kicked up a level. Their griddle items are delicious. We tried the French toast as well as the Belgian waffle with choco drizzle, strawberries, bananas, and cream. Delicious. We also had the Classic breakfast which included eggs, sausage, and hashbrowns. All solid.

Tldr yummy American breakfast food! My friends and I just randomly found this place and decided to try it. This place doesn't really have a selection for vegans or lactose people but we managed. We ordered the souffle omelette, swedish crepes, oatmeal, and got eggs+bacon on the side and hash browns. Everything was really good! The eggs were a bit runny but fully cooked, which is what I appreciate more. My favorite was the swedish crepes. It's literally just crepes and butter but the lingonberry butter was so good. It was a bit savory and sweet and tasted like berries. I would definitely come back just for that butter. The omelette was also really tasty! The side hash was mid but I didn't really care because of the omelette. It was packed full of the toppings and each bite had a good amount and was pretty evenly distributed. Some other thoughts about this place: - There is desayuno on the menu and that is what I will be trying when I come back. - There is parking in the back if you can't find street parking. But probably come early because it looks really packed even on a Sunday morning. - the staff were all super nice! And it was really cute that they are all wearing holiday sweaters - coffee is mid. But that's ok with me lol. They have peppermint mocha creamer

Just never got around to working a review before. Went early on a Saturday evening recently and was surprised to not have to wait. We split a Bibb lettuce salad that was simple, refreshing and perfect. A tiny pea fritter was the very definition of a small bite, and while it wasn't what I expected, it was crisp and tender. Grilled artichoke was one of the best I have ever had. (Just wish they had been explicit on the menu that it was a half a grilled artichoke). Cocktails were up to their usual high standard -- rye Manhattan for the BF and clarified milk punch for me. I don't get out much these days and I rarely drink alcohol, but is $20 a lot for a cocktail? Or is that normal now? They were great though. BF got the ribeye with morels, which was perfectly cooked and unbelievably tender. I had the burger, which was more exciting than it sounds, dressed with a wild combo of veggies, cheese and bacon while still managing to be harmonious and fresh tasting. Side of fries were crisp and tasty, though not as perfectly hot as I would ideally wish. Because the burger was late coming out, or server (Bernardo I think?) comped us an amazing little dish of vanilla soft serve ice cream with olive oil and sea salt, along with the butterscotch pudding that we ordered. The pudding didn't have the strong butterscotch flavor that I hoped for, but the vanilla ice cream stole the dessert show. OCK isn't a place I can afford often, but I still really like it. I appreciate the creativity of the dishes, the quality ingredients, and the bar. And the old-school shopping center vibe of the Pruneyard is low key festive and garden-like. The interior of the restaurant is kind of standard-industrial modern, but nicely so. Oh, and their glassware is super nice.

It was the perfect spot to enjoy the fresh air and made for a really relaxing atmosphere. The restaurant has a great vibe overall, especially if you're looking for an outdoor brunch. (Have not been inside) I ordered the steak chilaquiles, and I'd give them a 8.5/10. The flavors were really good, the sauce was delicious, and I liked the addition of the eggs, avocado, and queso. My only complaint was the steak. I ordered it medium rare, but it came out medium well, a bit dry and was tougher than expected, making it difficult to cut. It was still tasty--just not cooked quite the way I was hoping. The mimosas were good too, a great value. Nothing that really stood out as amazing, but definitely nothing bad about them either--they got the job done. What really elevated the experience was the service. Our server Rebecca was attentive, knowledgeable, kind, and incredibly quick throughout the meal. They checked in at the right times, answered our questions confidently, and made us feel well taken care of without ever being overbearing. Overall, I'd come back, especially to sit on the patio again. With a more tender steak, this meal would've easily been an 8.5 or 9 out of 10!! :)

Final Thoughts: 4.20/5.0…read more Contrary to many other opinions, I personally really like brunch. It really is more for the vibes and spending time with my friends and family versus the food sometimes. For some reason, this place has always been on my list of to-go brunch places, but I've just never had the chance to go here. After our matcha run, my friend and I decided to go here for brunch. It was around a 45 minute wait today. On their Yelp, appears to be quite the quaint place to to get food and relax. Will definitely be a 4 star for me. Food: Jumbo Crab Bene with seasonal fruit: 4.0/5 This is their fresh lump crab with sliced avocado, whole grain mustard and poached eggs stacked on lightly toasted English muffins, topped with scratch made Hollandaise sauce and garnished with locally sourced microgreens. This is served with either house potatoes or seasonal fruits. The lump crab is actually fresh crab I believe. There are some pieces of the shell that were still in there. I'm honestly not even mad because that's a pretty big indicator that it's the fresh crab meat picked out. The egg is nicely poached with a runny yolk. Hollandaise sauce is quite nice and light. The Dijon mustard was quite strong for me and did overwhelm some of the other flavors on the plate. It does add a nice flavor, but occasionally, it was too much. For the English muffin, it was quite thick, so it felt kind of dry. It's noted to be slightly toasted, but its somewhat hard to tell with the mustard, crab meat, and poached egg on top, which are mainly wet items. Avocado is perfectly ripe. I'm not an avocado person, but this one did it just right for me. The fruits came with blackberries, blueberries, strawberries, apples, cantaloupe, and honeydew. Very refreshing and needed after the savory foods. Philly Steak Sandwich with garlic fries: 4.0/5 This sandwich has grilled steak with peppers, onions, and mushrooms topped with provolone cheese on a toasted baguette with mayo and a light teriyaki drizzle. Will come with either a side of house salad or garlic fries. I really liked how they caramelized the onions and peppers inside of this. There's that additional sweetness from it that works well with the steak and cheese. Very tender meat. The bread also seemed kind of big and just almost dry too. Not too big of a concern given the amount of filling that they give. My friend choose the garlic fries and those were amazing. The cut is just right and the crisp on the outside is just so good. You can taste the garlic, but I could do with even more garlic to it. --------- Quality: Fresh Something I really like is that they use real crab in their jumbo crab bene. You can actually feel the tiny pieces of the shell in it, which usually means its fresh. The food did take a second to come out, but both were piping hot. My friends onions and veggies were quite caramelized, which is nice. Brings out a lot of the flavor component in the sandwich. The fries were actually so good too. I wanted the side of garli fries, but it was convenient that his came with it. Super crispy, nice size, flavor is good. May need a little more fresh garlic, but overall, really good. Price: Reasonable Prices seem reasonable for what they give. Initially, it does lean more on the expensive side, but their portion sizes are larger than your average brunch place. Prices will range from between $18 to $24, with a few outliers. Service: Very sweet workers Very nice service here. Everyone was sweet, greeted us, and checked on us. Our food did take a little longer than some others around us. For us, it was around a 25-30 minute wait after ordering our food. Even the table next to us that were seated after got their food first. The food did come out fresh, so I'm not really complaining. They did let us know and give us little updates about our wait and food though. Ambiance: Classic Brunch Spot The space is nice and looks slightly cramped inside. It was just my friend and I and they gave us a seat right in the corner next to the window. Honestly, probably the best spot for me and the person who seated us also noted that it was his favorite spot in the house. I didn't see much beyond from what was seen by the door. The space looks fairly small, but fit a decent amount of tables with walking space in between still. Always love the open kitchen. It's fun to watch what happens behind the scenes. Location/Parking: Large space It's located right on Saratoga Avenue. There is a Lucky grocery store here, so there is a lot of parking around. We really didn't have any concerns finding a space at all.

Based on yelp reviews, we chose this for our date night! This place had very cozy, candle light…read moredinner atmosphere. We did not reserve so it was just walk in, but luckily got seated. I would suggest reservation. Service was excellent, our attendant made us feel comfortable. Food was excellent! Truffle fries : Generally we have never finished fries. These fries are so good that we didn't realized how quickly we devoured them :). Spicy seafood pasta : This dish is creamy heaven! Amazing quantity, lots of creamy sauce. There were plenty clams and few shrimps. If you're in mood to indulge, definitely go for this. Spice comes from red paper flakes which doesn't overpower original dish, perfect ! Beet salad: I decided to order this based on other reviews and I'm glad I did ! One of the best beet salad, perfect for summers. Very refreshing! Skewers: They are perfectly grilled chicken skewer with some glaze on it. I found the glaze too sweet but my husband loved. I had spice nice cocktail, which was ok, I would try something else next time! Overall amazing place, Highly recommended !

Wagyu sliders - $5 each. The pattie was a good size, and it was super juicy with some melted cheese on top. The buns were perfectly toasted and this was honestly my fav item we ordered 2. Fried calamari - if you enjoy bigger calamari rings with thin crispy breading, this place does it well! Comes with 1 red sauce and their green tangy aioli. The portions were pretty good on this dish as well 3. Mac and cheese truffle bites - these were huge! I was expecting them to be as small as top golf's balls are haha but it comes with 3 huge balls. The pasta noodle itself was cooked to perfection, al dente and not super mushy. I was pleasantly impressed with this one and it came with the same green aioli sauce 4. Tomahawk steak - $7 each, honestly this is a confusing one. I was expecting steak bites similar to how a regular carne asada taco is, but it came in one huge chunk of meat, which wasn't even the best quality or cooked well. This is a skip For drinks we got the mango deck drink and the presentation was super fun! They lit it on fire and the chamoy stick was soft and easy to eat. Drink itself tasted sweet and easy to down in 1 big gulp! Overall the happy hour items offer lots of variety and our server was great!

Excellent, but generally very busy. I tried to scope out the place on the first night of a trip,…read moreand it was completely overwhelmed with people. I stopped by the following night and found a place at the bar. The staff were extremely helpful. The space is nicely decorated. The food is really nicely done, even in the context of vegetable forward dishes. In terms of food, I ordered the Chile relleno de calabacitas, and it was excellent. A nice portion of tart tomato sauce, plus rice and beans. Plus a nicely down relleno that didn't lean too hard into the concept of a deep fried orb of whipped egg whites. There's not anything wrong with the traditional version, but this felt a touch lighter. It was really nicely assembled. I'll also note that the house chips and salsa were extremely well done. The chips were clearly prepared in house. The salsas were flavorful and interesting. It was an excellent spread. Beer options were somewhat lacking: just Mexican lagers, but that's mostly just par for the course. That's what they're aiming for. All told, this was an excellent destination, it's pretty clear why it seems to be packed on a regular basis.

I walk out there and there was a random person sitting at our table. I asked her if this was our table. She proceeded to ask if it's for the graduation. And I said no? She looked confused and so did I. The server should have walked me out to our table like any other server would do. Besides all the other little things that were annoying... what got me the most is that I asked for one extra taco so I can share. I didn't mind paying for the extra taco but when the bill came they charged me DOUBLE THE PRICE for one taco plate. If I had known we would've just gotten two taco plates for the amount and price of two. 32$ for 4 tacos is diabolical. I would have really appreciated if the server disclosed that to me before. The taco shells were DRY, STALE, COLD, AND HARD when served. I ended up removing the second taco shell because of how awful they were. They're also flavorless including the salsa, as someone else mentioned in the reviews. Parking also sucks as well. I didn't think it was worth the headache at all. I definitely won't come back.
