cute place and very quick service, i think our food came out in under 10 minutes. i got the chicken apple sausage special which came with scrambled eggs, chicken apple sausage, has browns and a griddle item (i chose pancakes). the building has parking in the back as well as on the street which is nice, and the restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating. my only critique would be that the blueberry batter pancakes, as blue as they were had absolutely zero blueberry taste. not sure what they used to flavor them but a stronger blueberry flavor would've been preferred. pretty to look at but i didn't taste any blueberry. read more

Got the corned beef hash and coffee. Food was great. I really hate it when they use disposable cream but whatever, their choice. Do they have to blast the music so loud? Had to go outside to hear myself think. Personally I don't like so much powdered sugar on my pancakes but again personal pref. Had a delicious meal here, loved the cleanliness, chill ambiance, delicious food. I dont know why but we struggled to have anyone serve us. We got our water and our food and then were completely ignored. Had to wave down someone other than our waiter for water, more coffee, even our check. Not once did we get a top up on coffee, water, or literally anything without having to wave someone down (not our waiter, who never came). I wanted more napkins but was too frustrated to have to call someone. I just used my dirty napkin. I wanted more water so I poured some from my daughter's cup. I had to ask someone for coffee because I cant generate that on my own. This was a weekday. There were people, not empty, but less than half packed. I could see all the people but not our waiter. But when it came time to pay and tip, which I had to ask someone else for, she magically appeared and had a great big smile. Tip time! Ugh. Other than that, meal was fantastic. Hung out with friends for brunch. All together it was 4 adults and 2 kids. Overall decor was decent and they had a good amount of tables. But if you are in a large group, you most likely will be split into different tables. I would say 6 would be max group. The reason I took one star is for the fact that the tables are so compact that it was hard to maneuver out like if you had to go to the bathroom. You are almost squeezing through just to get out. The food is good. I got the corned beef hash with eggs and a Swedish pancake. Super yummy. The Swedish pancake butter is really good. Next time I'll have to try the blueberry pancakes as that was recommended. The service was quick. We ordered and shortly after we got our food. The waitress stopped by and asked how everything was. My partner ordered their country fried steak and I ordered the short stack Swedish crepes with the add on of blueberries and blueberry glaze. You can add on eggs and bacon for $7. I enjoyed the short stack option that comes with 2 pieces. Overall, I loved the flavor of the lingonberry butter with the glaze and crepe. Not too sweet. Their virgin vanilla ice latte was also good. I ordered one of the house specialties, California Benedict, which has pecan smoked bacon, tomato, avocado, and of course poached eggs on English muffins topped with the delicious hollandaise sauce. Tldr yummy American breakfast food! My friends and I just randomly found this place and decided to try it. This place doesn't really have a selection for vegans or lactose people but we managed. We ordered the souffle omelette, swedish crepes, oatmeal, and got eggs+bacon on the side and hash browns. Everything was really good! The eggs were a bit runny but fully cooked, which is what I appreciate more. My favorite was the swedish crepes. It's literally just crepes and butter but the lingonberry butter was so good. It was a bit savory and sweet and tasted like berries. I would definitely come back just for that butter. The omelette was also really tasty! The side hash was mid but I didn't really care because of the omelette. It was packed full of the toppings and each bite had a good amount and was pretty evenly distributed. Some other thoughts about this place: - There is desayuno on the menu and that is what I will be trying when I come back. - There is parking in the back if you can't find street parking. I hadn't been to Uncle John's in several months and decided to give them a try again since their food was so delicious last time. Had sausage links, scrambled eggs, and hash browns, and it was amazing. Everything was seasoned and cooked perfectly. When I read that many of the meals included a griddle item, I assumed it would be a smaller portion of a griddle item, but nope - you get the whole thing! My boyfriend and I decided to share a couple different items, as we tend to, but we easily could've gotten away with one plate + a girdle item. We ordered the South of the border soufflé omelette and Big boy breakfast, which came with all of the available breakfast meats. Each item came with a griddle item so we went with the pancakes and belgian waffle. We both preferred the savory items and enjoyed the crispiness of the hashbrowns. I liked the belgian waffle over the pancakes, but would opt for no powder sugar next time because it made it a little too sweet for me. This spot seems to be very popular since it's always pretty crowded with people spilling out onto the sidewalk waiting or enjoying the outdoor seating. They were a little more dense compared to the regular but still had a great flavor and you can still taste that original pancake base. When the scramble arrived, the scramble was extremely runny with large chunks of raw tomato. the staff was kind enough to cook it longer and without tomato. However, the carne asada itself was bland and under-seasoned. I wasn't given the sourdough toast that came with my meal. When I asked about it, my server explained that I didn't receive it because I had ordered a griddle item instead. Despite that, I was still charged for a full side order of the waffle. Overall, the experience left a lot to be desired, and unfortunately, I won't be returning. read more

My son saw this place and wanted to try it. They do have limited parking but do offer additional parking in the parking garage. The place is cute and was very busy. It is a good idea to add yourself to the waitlist so you don't have to wait long. We were seated within 10 minutes. They do offer some seating outside which is right on the sidewalk so you have the occasional homeless walking by that does not smell that good but the restaurant can't control that. We've seen this place get plenty of great reviews so we decided to give it a try. we were seated quickly, which was great. once we ordered and our food came we noticed it had no flavor at all, and our eggs tasted undercooked. the ingredients themselves have pretty strong natural flavors so i'm not sure how we could taste nothing. we wanted to make it work but once the pancakes came, they were severely undercooked to the point where the batter was literally wet under the top layer of the pancake. everything seemed pretty rushed. i hope my husband doesn't get sick from the raw flour end eggs... please do better read more

The omelette tastes good, and the potatoes are plenty. Coming to the bad: some house potatoes are piping hot and I burnt my mouth and some are warm, so a little more balanced is desired. I found multiple spinach lump in my omelette which also is not desired. The waitress asked for drink preference but didn't listen that I ordered water without ice. Being busy is not an excuse to ignore customers orders. I Now the most interesting part: the ugly. Not much honestly except one big "no no". We sat on the bar, so have clear view of the kitchen. The kitchen looked clean but I saw cooks are using same grill for toast and bacon on the side. Even if they are not touching, to respect vegetarian people they should use different grill.
