Grateful beyond measure for Mike's auto repair! My rear drivers side window wouldn't roll up all of a sudden and this was when we were having pouring rain and storms! I went into work and asked a few coworkers if anyone could recommend a honest and reliable place to fix my car window. Jim immediately replied with YES! He said he had been going to Mike and Victorias for years and how there is no other place he would take his vehicles to. Victoria was super kind and friendly during our phone connection and initially said they were booked and weren't able to see me until the following week. When she realized the window was broken and that we were having a lot of rain she said I could bring the car in before closing time and they would see what they could do! The next day after I completed my work I had my window fixed and the communication from Victoria during the process was very much appreciated indeed! The trunk hood also was iffy and opening off and on with no rhyme or reason! Sometimes would open and sometimes would not. When it's completely broken and not able to open I am surely going to return and schedule an appointment with Victoria again. Very disappointed I previously had given a 5 star review . A month ago I realized the work that I paid for didn't get done. I left my truck and a new hard to get wiring harness for the driver door to be installed. They didn't install the new harness they only spliced the old harness. Now it's failing again that's how I discovered the new harness never was installed. Of coarse Mike doesn't remember and will not pull the invoice and I can't find it yet. He even charged me for a part that he said broke when removing the door panel. He didn't remove the door panel. I have brought several cars for them to work on. Never again!! My partner and I went and brought in a truck that we had bought with the intentions of re-building for 4-wheeling and mudding. After seeing all the positive reviews, we thought this would be the perfect place to not only bring it to, but to also help support a local business. We had experienced a parasitic power draw and mentioned that to Mike, along with asking him to check out the rest of the truck to see if there was anything else we needed to get fixed. We were surprised to get a call later telling us that there was no parasitic draw and that we shouldn't be wasting our money on the truck and to just get rid of it. We explained that we were wanting to rebuild and asked if he could please explain more why he felt that way. Instead all we got was a return call from his wife, that he wouldn't be working on the truck and that he was insisting that we come get the truck immediately. When we arrived, Mike was in the office and completely ignored us being there, while his wife handed us the keys. We ended up taking the truck to another mechanic who right away recognized the draw and helped us not only repair it, but also helped us do some replacement work on some other parts. While others seemed to have experienced positive service, unfortunately I cannot say the same. With all the 5 star reviews, I expected better customer service than what we experienced, but I'm leaving 2 stars here as they did not end up charging us for the time they took with our truck. read more

My Toyota had a bad oil leak that needed to be addressed. Regrettably, the repairs my car needed wouldn't have been able to be started for a little while due to staffing constraints. However, Mike graciously recommended another option that worked out great. (Thanks Mike!) Not only that, he replaced the oil in my car and charged me less than I was anticipating to pay for the inspection. Little acts of kindness like that stick with me and are greatly appreciated. My front brakes started grinding and Mike's auto repair is just down the street from me. I called him early in the morning and he answered right away. He told me I could drop it off and he would fit me in in between appointments. He gave me an estimate and I told him I didn't have much money till the end of the week and I will get back to him. He called me not long later with a lower price just for me and even offered to have his wife drive me and my son home! When I dropped my car off the super sweet lady at the desk invited me and my son back to get a prize out of their cute little prize box! My son was so happy. Mike and Victoria were absolutely wonderful! My car was in a pretty decent accident and all the mechanical stuff on the passenger side was destroyed. He had to replace the control arm, hubs, tire rods , tire and honestly so much I can't remember. However what I do know is that they went above and beyond to help me. They even came by my house to get a look at the vehicle before I had it towed in. They were incredible honest and extremely fair with cost. I honestly feel like I got the better deal, other places had ball parked it at least twice as much as what I ended up paying with Mike. I had it towed in on a Friday and it was ready to go the following Thursday. If I ever have to have any work on my vehicle I will be bringing it to them! Mike was very honest and tried to save your money on unneeded repairs . My Lexus was leaking oil and dripping on the garage floor. The first car shop said it was leaking from companion racks and they wants $1000 to fix it. I brought my car to Mike for second opinion .After carefully observation , Mike found it was a leak head gasket and it was dropping on the companion racks . They caused damage to my vehicle, didn't notify me and when it was brought to their attention, they wanted to charge me to fix what they damaged. I took my vehicle to another shop where other things were brought to my attention like my ABS module being unplugged instead of actually being fixed. Brought my 2003 Trailblazer in for a water pump noise. I figured it was going out and Mike quickly confirmed it. He replaced the water pump, the fan clutch assembly (as recommended by Chevrolet), and had it ready to go in less than a day. His charges were less than 1/2 of what a dealer quoted me. I drove it to Tahoe the next day and have put on 1,000 miles since the repair, and there are no leaks, noises, or problems. To top it off, Mike and his wife are awesome people. A couple of weeks ago I ran over a tree stump that had fallen off a truck. Although I made it home ok, a few days later when I first moved the car, the transmission was slipping. A friend of mine recommended Mike's Auto Repair so I took it in. The first thing I noticed was the "Please wear a mask," notice on the door. That made me happy. Victoria was very nice and Mike was a hoot! I had my little dog, Scruff, with me. After slowly approaching their cat, the cat took a swipe at Scruff, so Victoria gave Scruff a dog treat, being sure to point out to me that she'd looked at the ingrediants, carefully, and assured me that the treat was "quality." Later, Scruff found one of the cats toys and Victoria insisted that she take it with her as an apology for her cat's behavior! Although I've only driven it a few miles since picking it up, all seems fine - Mike even heated up and reshaped the front spoiler that was banged in during the accident. They got it back to me a day earlier than promised and were 10% under the estimated price. Besides being professional, they were very nice people and although I don't look forward to having more car problems, I will look forward to seeing them ! read more

I now live over 90 miles away from Mike's Auto Repair, I still take my car to Mike for automotive service. The above statement should be an indicator of how good this shop is. And if that isn't convincing enough, see my prior review for an amazing example of how Mike saved me $900 several years ago by replacing a fuse. I recently took my car into Mike to have him look over another mechanic's work and let me know if there was any problems with the car (the other mechanic is located in Martinez where I live now, but I was concerned about some engine roughness and an intermittent ticking noise that appeared after taking it to the other mechanic). Victoria (Mike's wife and office manager) was extremely nice, provided excellent customer service, and scheduled a time to bring the car in. Mike thoroughly examined the car and let me know that the motor mounts may be shot, but that it didn't appear that there was anything wrong otherwise. He didn't try to pressure me to replace them, he didn't speak badly of the work the other mechanic did, he just gave it to me straight in his typical down to earth, personable manner. Since moving away from Sacramento, I have had the opportunity to experience several other mechanics in my new home town, many of those mechanics are 4 and 5 star mechanics based on dozens of Yelp reviews. To put it simply, Mike and Victoria are in another league from every other mechanic I have ever encountered. Mike just doesn't have any equal in the automotive repair world, and believe me I have looked. If I can give them 10 stars and draw little and big hearts on this review, I would. I know nothing of car engines. I only know how to drive (but I can drive stick and know how to downhill-push start a manual car all by my lonesome. But that's as far as my badassery on cars go).
