I just recently got into bourbons and I did a Yelp search for best bourbon selection and it suggested Mike's Liquor. It is real close to my house and I've driven by it for years not even recognizing there was a little hidden gem right in my neighborhood. The two brothers Mike and Moe are super friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. They carry hard to find bottles that you just won't find at a big box store like Total Wine or BevMo. What's great is you can tell them what you like and they'll make some recommendations on what you may like. Highly recommended if you looking for top shelf bourbons and whiskeys. read more

Went in to grab some craft beers. Although they didn't have the beer I was looking for (no biggie), nobody in the place was wearing masks and there was just a plexiglass partition. Picked up 3 Stone tall boys and totaled $31. Seems extremely pricey and the beers did not have labels on the shelves, I did not make a fuss about it but when I was asked if I wanted a receipt I said yes. When I received the receipt all it was, was just the credit card receipt with no breakdown. read more

This place is great! Tucked away in a modest shopping strip, I stopped by for a quick bottle of wine. To my surprise they carried super quality brands like Stags', Flowers, Jarvis and such- wow, who knew. The customer service is great. The hubby was fairly impressed with the craft beer selection. This place is great!! So close to my house and the variety of liquors is large and they provide really great customer service! They have a walk in cooler w/wines, champagne, beers, hard liquor, etc. They also have lots of mini version of the good stuff including mini bottles of jaeger, vodka, tequilas (patron) etc. Even though I never expected any help from the person in charge, especially since he was working out a deal with a customer, he stopped to let me know if I needed any help finding anything or if I had any questions to please feel free to let him know. When I took some time walking around trying to find what I needed, he pointed out his walk in cooler, which had what I was looking for. I was able to score a small bottle of champagne, loose from the 4pk, yes!! This place is great especially if you purchase beer and wine frequently. Mike's has a huge selection of beer and wine, some of the wines he had are not sold in the area also. There is a ton of beer options from IPA to basic bud light. The prices are much cheaper than other liquor stores I've been to in the area also! I have lived in Huntington Beach for 12 years now. I have visited or shopped at most if not all of the liquor stores in the city and find "Mikes" the best one. Great prices, great various selection and most importantly the welcome that customers receive there make you feel like part of them. They go out of their way to fulfill customers wants and needs. I am a regular smoker and my preferred choice is Dunhill Whites. There is only 2-3 Liquor stores that carry them in HB and Mike brought it in just to make sure i don't have to go far to get it. Call that a bad customer service?!?! Any other store that i walk into around here don't give me a treatment like that. Always friendly and quick service. The only reason for not giving the full 5 stars is overpricing on some items. But to make up for it there is great customer service, easy in and out location, and a pretty great selection for a smaller store. Much cleaner and less unwanted attention for being a female here than at many liquor stores. After reading the only negative comments I'm led to believe that a) the "couponer" should stop being so cheap and hit a super market chain, and b) the other one complaining he is not "woman" and to go to Nady's is probably a friend or family member of someone affiliated with Nady's. I will continue to patronize this store due to service and location. Despite a maybe dollar or two hike up from other local stores. Saves me the hassle of stopping out of my way. After calling a number of places trying to find Green Spot whiskey and hearing no every called. I called Mike's; Mike answered the phone and said he didn't have it, however he see about getting it. The next day (this afternoon) he calls to tell me that he was able to get it and that he already had it. He was the only person that said "let me see what I can do" instead of no. Been coming here for almost three years. Mike is an amazing guy. Super friendly, helpful, extremely knowledgeable about a great amount of products in his store....My wife of 25 years loves to try different wines, although she has a very particular palate when it comes to wine. Mike has an incredible variety not to mention a vast knowledge of all the wines he sells. He asks questions about your likes and such, with that information he always makes the perfect choice. When it comes to outstanding bourbons and whiskey selections, there is no one EVEN CLOSE to Mike's Liquor as a stand alone liquor store! The selection includes rarities like Pappy Van Winkle and Black Maple Hill, amongst a vast variety of really good small batch and single barrel bottles like Four Roses, Blanton's, High West, Michter's, Buffalo Trace, etc. I am probably leaving out other phenomenal choices, but off the top of my head that should paint a good enough picture to any whiskey/bourbon connoisseur. They also have a fantastic selection of beers (local and fan favorites), as well as a terrific selection of wines and champagnes for those with even the fanciest of palates. Cigar aficionados, look no further as well! Mike's has a great small selection in his humidor. Apart from an excellent selections from whiskeys, wines, and leisures, the CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS FIVE-STAR, GOLD-STANDARD! Mike is very much involved in the alcohol choices and treats his customers with respect and goes the extra mile for the whole community. I had a bottle that was unfortunately off the mark from its usual, and David and Mike (both stand-up guys) replaced my bottle for me as a sign of good faith and appreciation. Something I've not encountered from any liquor store. As genuine as they come folks! Buy great bourbons here!!!! You won't regret the selection or the service. They are always switching them out for new flavors so I love stopping in on the regular to be surprised by a new craft beer I've never had before . Great little local liquor store with a nice French wine selection. Not many liquor stores carry an authentic and affordable Bordeaux.
