Parking in Chinatown is rough--on a normal Sunday afternoon, it took me nearly 30 minutes to find a spot. By the time I parked, lunch had already become a small victory. We finally tried Harmony Palace, a Hong Kong-style 茶餐廳 I'd been seeing online for a while. The restaurant is small and pleasantly quiet; there was only one other party when we arrived. Honestly, fewer crowds is a bonus these days. We ordered a solid spread: HK milk tea, 鴛鴦, curry chicken rice, 混醬腸粉, 雲吞麵, 沙嗲牛肉米, and 西多士. Overall, I'd give it 4 stars. The curry looked a little questionable at first--don't judge a curry by its color--but it tasted great. The 腸粉 was thicker than I expected, but everything else was enjoyable. The milk tea and 鴛鴦 were right on par with what you'd want from an HK café, and the prices felt reasonable by current Seattle standards, which is almost its own five-star category. We wanted to get some breakfast before we headed to the cruise terminal for our Alaskan cruise. We felt like getting some Chinese. It was a short walk from the light rail to get to this place. If you blinked you would miss it from the street. We were promptly seated and offered hot tea or water. After that we had to scan the QR code to place our order. I ordered the wonton noodles and it was mediocre. My friend ordered the beef and gravy egg over rice. This was more like egg drop soup! It was also very bland. Great option for dim sum and Chinese breakfast and even better that they open at 8am The lady is very nice and can speak mandarin, canto or English and the food came out fresh, piping hot and delicious. It's a small cozy place that lets you scan the QR code to order. My favorite is the BBQ pork rice roll and pan fried radish cake. The spareribs can use a bit more flavor and better quality meat though. One thing that I really wish they had was oil based chili (very standard in most dim sum places). I definitely am not a big fan of their chili paste which wasn't spicy at all and the flavor of the paste has a slight pungent flavor that I didn't like. read more

Family run and incredibly nice. Definitely a hole-in-the-wall atmosphere, but clean and inviting. I only tried their dim sum options. Menu is far more oriented towards entrees. There were maybe 5(?) options for dim sum. I got three of them. Shumai, har gow, and spring rolls. Tea was good and was only $0.25. Everything was cooked to order. But everything was bland. And the Shumai had a pork gristle in it. :-( One very little shrimp in bottom of pork Shumai. Usually ratios at restaurants are closer to 60/40. For what you get and the taste was not worth the $24. I wish the family well, but I won't be back. Far too many other places that are way better for the same price or less. read more

I liked this dim sum joint a lot! Located in Seattle's Chinatown/International area, it was a great place to grab some breakfast before hopping on the train to head to the airport. They have a QR code on every table which you can scan to see the menu and order the items you'd like. I got the shrimp har gow, rice wrapped in lotus leaves, and BBQ pork rice rolls to try. Everything was fast and delicious, and I even had some leftovers to eat on my short flight. Ordering and paying were hassle-free, and they're located only a few minutes away from the train station, which was super convenient. Opens before 10 am on the weekends too. Cute mom and pop shop - the kind where the auntie is making dumplings in one corner and where the shop owners probably live upstairs. They only have a few tables so seating is limited. We ordered a number of dishes and enjoyed all of them. I love that the food here is handmade and more affordable than other dim sum places. Service was good as well. Our server was really nice and smiled a lot, although I felt quite judged when I asked for forks! haha I think this is worth your consideration for when you're in CID for dim sum - especially on a budget. read more

The restaurant seems small so the seating might be limited. Their food is pretty good and tasty and price is affordable too.. You just order everything on the menu with the QR code. Came in on a Sunday afternoon and the place was busy, but also the restaurant is on the smaller side. The table we sat on we waited to get wiped down, but the waitress took a while to acknowledge us so we ended up wiping it down ourselves. The nice thing is you use a QR code for your table and place your order online. If it weren't for that we probably would have waited longer than we already were. We had to ask for water, and mine had a hair in that so I pushed that cup to the side. Our server was not very warm and welcoming to begin with, but she ended up at the end of service. We ordered quite a bit of food, nothing really stood out. The chili oil couldn't even save it. The won ton soup dumplings had too much ginger, the veggies in the fried rice tasted old and a little mushy, and the har gow and sui mai were just ok. I did enjoy the Chinese broccoli, but that was about it. I didn't get a chance to try the ribs, turnip cake but my family did say they were just ok too. read more

Just a disappointing experience all around. The people were indifferent, did not check on us, did not refill our waters, which were 25cents a cup, first time for me, having to pay for tap water. Order their dim sum items, definitely manufacture, looked and tasted like the ones in buffets. Noodle dishes were edible, not even worth photographing. Left the grandma a $15 tip because she was working beyond her working age, just felt sorry for her. Three days later my credit card shows an additional $18 for that place, they went back added an additional 18% tip? Did not know they can do that. So she got $32 in tips for bringing us water and delivering food. Do not recommend, food lacked flavour, service didn't exist, dishes had food remains dried on and a scam on the credit card payment. read more

Twice I've eaten here, and both times I left more than satisfied. You can practice patience here while waiting for everything to arrive. When things do arrive, you'll be delighted. No pictures of the Pepper Salt Squid from our second visit were taken because we inhaled the pile of crispy goodness as soon as it appeared at table. Same story with the shu mai. It's just too good. I initially notified the server that we did not order an item present on the minitable app, guess she didn't understand us, when the bill came out it was still there. Food tasted ok but nothing special, probably a 4/10 for dimsum with 5/10 being normal/baseline. Don't let the exterior of this restaurant fool you, the food, dim sum and people are wonderful! We drove 4 hours to pick up food from Harmony Palace and I placed a BIG order at 8am. When I got there to pick it up they had their hands full. They were very pleasant, got my order together, gave it to me and I was on my way. A few minutes later I received a call from the restaurant saying they forgot one item in my order so we turned around and picked it up. They didn't have to go the extra mile and do that, we really appreciated it. The food is AMAZING!!! This place is going to have lines out the door once the word gets out. The food was hit or miss. I ordered a bunch of dim sum to eat noe snd some dishes to eat later so I had a lot. For dim sum, we got pork hash with fish toe, but they didn't put any roe on ours... We got shrimp hargow which portion was very large and generous. We also got pork buns, I swear I asked for bake but got steamed. The meat with flavorful, soft and I can taste the cloves and star anise. The pork has was also really good, slightly hard but flavorful. For my "eat later" dishes, i got house fried rice, honey walnut shrimp and garlic Chinese broccoli. The Chinese broccoli was missing a lot of seasonings and garlic. Fried rice also needed more soy sauce or msg. We got take out and was very disappointed the didn't included any condiments, mustard, chili and soy sauce would've helped a lot of the food. Parking is a total nightmare. We drove around the block several times. Some lots were closed for private events and street parking was non-existent. We went Saturday evening and the only people eating there, I would think place is suspicious if it didn't have good review from Yelp lol. Classic dim sum at a local mom and pop shop. Unlike the massive go to dim sum places nearby, this smaller dim sum shop is a true classic. Everything is made fresh and with care. Often at other popular dim sum stops I notice a big decline in quality, but every time I've come here it's just as good as the last time. Their salt and pepper wings are a must get, I also love their dumpling soup. The dumplings themselves are flavorful. If you need caffeine their yuan yang is great and you can add as much or as little sugar as you want. It also helps that the interior is the same cute vintage style you'd expect to see back in the day. read more

I've been thinking about this food for a month now since I was in Seattle, like really just can't stop craving it! It was so authentic, everything was fresh and the portions were great. We had shrimp fried rice which was one of the best I've ever had. Mongolian beef full of flavor, perfect sauce, not too many onions and tender, good quality beef. The kung pao chicken was incredible, just absolutely delicious and authentic flavor, I would fly back to Seattle just for that chicken. To top it off the owner was so sweet, attentive and one of those people you can just tell is genuinely kind. Stopped by Harmony Palace and had a solid dim sum experience overall. The radish cake was the standout--crispy on the outside, soft and flavorful inside. Easily 5 stars and one of the best in the area. The shrimp dumplings were excellent too--4.5 stars--with generous, plump shrimp and a delicate wrapper that held together nicely. The Fish Roe & Pork Shui Mai were satisfying at 4 stars, packed well with good texture and flavor. The chicken feet were a bit of a letdown at 3.5 stars--tender but lacking the bold flavor you'd usually expect. The Shanghai Pan Fried Pork Buns were 4 stars--nicely crisped on the bottom, with a tasty, juicy filling and a homemade feel to the dough. Prices were reasonable for the quality and portion sizes. Came here as our first meal after a week long cruise and was not disappointed. Great dim sum in an authentic mom-and-pop shop (the place is literally operated by just a husband and wife team). They have authentic Asian charm to their service (can be a little unusual compared to western standards). I really really miss a good cha chan teng in Seattle. This city is really lacking in good Cantonese food but this place is good enough to return to when the cravings hit. Pork chop baked rice was good in terms of taste but the cut of pork chop that came with our order was mostly cartilage. Chinese donut rice rolls were great! The rice noodle was thin and it came out fresh with the donut still crispy in the center. These do not keep well as leftovers so I would advise to eat it immediately. Beef dry chow fun is a classic and truly hard to mess up but I felt it was slightly under seasoned. Also needed a splash more of dark soy sauce to really make it look the part. I did like that there was a QR ordering system which the servers recommended we use to beat the wait when they get busy. read more
