For this return visit I actually got lunch from here for my parents and me since we were around Chinatown for a bit. Like the Food Walk itself, this place gets very crowded during peak lunch hours when they're open; every seat was taken and everyone else - myself included - got our goodies for takeout. You pay depending on how much you get; for example, one piece of siu mai is $1.30 each as of this writing. All other food items follow in a similar suit. We got the following: - Egg tart: my favorites though they have cookie crusts. I do prefer flaky crusts but the egg yolk has the right amount of sweet to balance the crust. - Siu mai: fresh and piping hot. Meat was also fresh and didn't have a weird aftertaste. - Green onion bun: each one is pretty big, and there's just enough green onions on them to distinguish between similar buns like the baked BBQ pork bun. - Sponge cake: didn't eat this myself but parents thought this was all right though a little too set. - Baked BBQ pork bun: my dad's favorite. BBQ pork is sweet and complements the bun itself. - Meat bun turnover (Shanghai pan-fried buns): I always like getting these in places like Din Tai Fung and Dough Zone. The ones here are even better, with a ton of filling in each bun and a nice crisp from the pan fry. A classic staple of Chinatown that serves awesome dim sum that edges out the competition pretty well considering dining in has gotten a lot more expensive lately! I see myself coming back a lot more, beyond the number of times I've gone here since high school, of course.

Yeahh.... NO... food was ok. Edible and not bad, but had communication issues speaking with them in theirs and my native tongue. Weirdly awkward.... Didn't know you can get a single chicken feet. Lol. Lady didn't like it when i ask for more and kept adding to my order. Sorry bro, didn't know what i wanted, but was hungry and wanted a familiar taste for the journey ahead. Next time i will just go somewhere else....

I went here at the end of the day on a whim, and they mainly had siu mai left. It was so delicious, definitely the best siu mai I've had in Seattle. Filling amount was decent. The ladies here are so sweet too. Definitely will be back earlier in the day next time!

I love Dim Sum King as you can order dim sum items by the item, rather than a plate that comes with multiple! Good choice if you're eating alone or with a group that may prefer different items than you. The ladies packaging up the food for you are fast. You fill out a little menu card and they pack what you wanted on that card. The only downside is that the menu is small and does not contain all the dimsum items, soy sauce and hot sauce are extra charge, and if dining in there are no plates/dishware and they are a little stingy with giving out napkins. Their congee could also be a little hotter, it's always just lukewarm in my experience. There are a few tables inside you can eat at after getting your order, the food is packed to go so you eat from the packaging. Bus your own table after. It can get quite packed on a weekend! Parking is also a little tough since there's no dedicated lot for the restaurant. All in all, Dim Sum King is a great cheap place to get dimsum if you're looking for the basic variety, may not want to go to a traditional sit down restaurant because you don't want 3-4 of each item, and is a no frills takeout restaurant with some seating inside.

Located in Chinatown, parking is plentiful and easy to find. There's no indoor seating whatsoever. However, you can get it togo and there's an outdoor courtyard area with some seating right behind the restaurant. Service could use improvement. The lady helping us out was in a very cranky mood making us quite uncomfortable. However there's a good selection of popular dim sum items. Food was absolutely delicious. We got some steamed BBQ buns and egg tarts. I especially enjoyed the egg tarts. They were fluffy and not too sweet. Tap to pay is accepted. Overall, Dim Sum King is a great place for some delicious dim sum. Customer service could be better but service is quick and items are packaged nicely.

It had always been a fave spot for getting cheap individual pieces of dim sum. However, in the past few years, prices have gone wayy up - so now it's pretty much the same cost as going to get sit-down dim sum for some of these items. And every single time I go in, the ladies behind the counter are *super* rude and always rush you even when you feel prepared with what you want - their attitude is just really offputting. even if they run out, which they do often, they talk to you like it's your fault for even asking. I am used to bad service and an attitude often, especially at traditional restaurants, but every single time? It gets tiring being yelled at the moment you walk up to the counter, even as someone who has regularly come here since I was a kid and will even order in their native language.

Swung by Dim Sum King in the International District on a Sunday afternoon. Parking was a total mess--couldn't find a spot anywhere, so I just got dropped off. Picked up a few of my favorites: * Sio Mai * Fun Gor * Sticky rice wrapped in lotus leaf * Turnip Cake All super tasty, just like always. There was a line, but it moved pretty fast so no big deal. Heads up though--they only take credit cards if you spend over $10, so bring some cash if you're just grabbing a few things.

My all time favorite Dim Sum spot in Seattle. They always have such a wide selection. I got the Pineapple Bun, BBQ Pork Bun & some Chow Mein. Some of my other favorites I get are the Dumplings, Shumai, & Shrimp Rolls. You cant find any better tasting or priced Dim Sum around

Love this place for a quick stop for delicious dim sum! Their shu mai is absolutely yummy and it's my favorite from this shop and you don't have to order sets here! They often participate in the CID food walk so if you'd like to try their foods, it's a good opportunity but they're very affordable so anytime is a good time to try them out! I also like their egg tarts as well. The ladies at this store are quick and efficient making this a quick stop for a delectable meal in CID! Such a solid dim sum location and I would definitely recommend it to others!

This was really affordable and tasty! We would definitely come back. Though the focus is more take out, you can eat inside if you'd like at one of the little tables. I recommend going early if you want more choices. They will make more but you'll have to wait like 10 min. The portion sizes are very generous and they are well packaged. If you want them to separate things, let them know in advance.

We came in and our friend ordered almost one of everything. Nothing but compliments! I tried the steam bbq bun and it was delicious and fluffy!

Came here during the CID food walk, and we got an assortment platter to share. They have a variety of dim sum items which you can actually purchase individually - something I plan to come back and do! I think their steamed bbq pork bun is really good - super soft and fluffy texture with a good amount of savory filling. My friends loved the shumai as well. Prices are really affordable, so come for the dim sum fix!

My boyfriend and I discovered this place when I was in the area for my haircut and we were craving dim sum. Now, we have made it a point to stop by whenever I get my haircut! Dim Sum King is a great place to grab takeout. They have all of your classic menu options that you mark off on a list, then you hand it to one of the ladies to prepare your order. I love that you can order everything by individual piece. It allows me to spend less to get exactly what I want. Of note, they do charge for the plastic containers. My favorites here include: har gow, shu mai, chicken feet, radish cake steamed/baked BBQ pork buns, shrimp rice roll, hot dog bun, and the sweet rice cake. You can not go wrong with any of their baked items. The bread is SO soft and light. If in doubt, just order an extra one because you won't regret it. While I'm generally a fan of the fried meat football, this is an item that has left me disappointed. Their version has a very thick mochi crust and has very little filling, and is not well-balanced enough for me to order this again during future visits. In general, every dim sum establishment has items that they do well, so this is something that I can overlook. Dim Sum King gets all of my favorite items right, so I will continue to come back and support.

Service is quick and straightforward. We ordered the pineapple bun with butter, mixed steak plate with black pepper sauce, and spare rib and chinese sausage clay pot. My boyfriend really enjoyed his mixed steak plate - it came with a pork steak and beef steak, steamed rice, and steamed veggies. The meat was fine but the real winner was the savory sauce! The clay pots take 20-30 minutes to cook which they tell you ahead of time, so be aware my boyfriend was about done with his food when the clay pot came out. This was a delicious classic dish reminiscent of the clay pots back in Hong Kong! I poured in a ton of sauce and it really gets absorbed into the hot rice and meat. This place is a true gem, serving satisfying, delicious food in a relaxed atmosphere at an affordable price. The restaurant looks small from the front, but space is used efficiently and they manage to fit quite a bit of seating into not that large of a dining room. Tables are mostly four tops, quite spacious at that, and surrounded by sturdy wooden chairs. I came for dinner on a Friday evening and there were a few other tables at any given time. Service was quick and our water never ran empty. We had the wontons in hot oil, topped with peanuts, I had the beef chow fun, and my dinner buddy had the pork with hot sauce noodles. The wontons are very very good, stuffed with flavorful pork and swimming in a sauce that sits in that perfect spot at the intersection of hot and sour. The peanuts and scallions add a delightful crunch. Their beef chow fun satisfies every bit of childhood nostalgia I have for this dish, with lots of wok hei, bouncy noodles, and the most tender of beef. I think my favorite beef chow fun in the city still lives at A+ Hong Kong Kitchen, but this is a close second. The portion here is also huge.
