Mikes pizza is absolutely delicious. I can agree, a bit pricey for its location (it has Manhattan prices) but you get what you pay for. One thing I do recommend is to order for pick up if you can. Delivery does take a long time and your pizza won't arrive as hot as you want it. The staff is always friendly and professional and Mike himself is there to greet you (always with a smile). I love their buffalo chicken or barbecue chicken slice. I do wish the slices came with a bit more chicken since they are about almost $4 a piece. It gets a bit crowded but you can always find a little nook to sit and eat. Otherwise, flavor, customer service, cleanliness and quality all get an A++ from me. read more

I've been eating at Mike's for about 10 yrs. The food is good, the service is good. I don't usually dine in since it get a bit rowdy there due to the train station being right outside of their door. In reference to the other review that said they don't serve people with Spanish accents, thats completely absurd as the pizzeria is in a predominantly Puerto Rican/ Dominican neighborhood. I've coming here since I was a child. There use to be another pizza establishment I used to frequent, but when they closed down, I by default went to Mike's. The staff at Mike's is always friendly. What I especially appreciate is that they hire folks from the community. Folks that may need a 2nd or 3rd chance, and I've always especially respected them for that. The pizza is good here. I know folks who come from far just to get a slice here. I guess they have what you call the authentic "Brooklyn slice." My favorite slice is their buffalo chicken slice. It's probably the best buff-chick slice I've had. What makes it great is - my New Yorkers are not going to like this - that it's a deep dish slice. Yes, a pizzeria in Brooklyn makes a Chicago-style pizza as one of their specialty pizzas, and it's pretty darn good. The only other no-pizza items I've had that I can remember what the taste are the garlic knots, beef patty, and chicken gyro. The knots taste good but are way too oily. The beef patty tastes fresh, and the chicken gyro is solid. However, Mike's is not cheap. A regular (cheese) slice is$ 2.75, though that seems to be regular price everywhere (a NY trivia: it seems pizza prices increase as the prices to ride the subway increases), which is ashamed. Though, the buff-chick slice is $3.75. It's definitely a hefty slice, but almost $4 for a slice is pretty high for a regular pizzaeria that's supposed to serve the community. Other food items also seem more expensive than they should be (beef patty - $2.75, small french fries - $3.75, specialty dinners range from 11-$15). This is a working class neighborhood, so it's surprising prices are so high. Over all, good food, good pizza, and I would recommend. But be cautious of what you order because you can be spending a lot more than you wanted to if you don't pay attention. read more

Mike's is located right under the Crescent St stop of the J train. This place has been around since I was a kid and I've always frequented it but in the recent years it's gotten especially good. Their specialty slices are a bit pricey at 3.50 a slice but man oh man are they delicious. My favorite is the Chicken Alfredo slice. The chicken is juicy, the sauce is so rich and tasty, and the crust is amahzing with just the right amount of crunch and chewiness. I'm there every Monday for one of these slices, they're my guilty pleasure. The service is always good, they're very nice and attentive and they have no qualms about cutting up a slice in itsy bitsy pieces for my little one. Delivery is also very quick . Number of times I've been here: Over a dozen times starting last year. Mike's Pizzeria, in my opinion, is a quality pizzeria that offers a quality menu. I discovered this place while I was actually craving a burger and fries. I was going to order from my go-to pizzeria, but I remembered not being impressed by their burger and fries. So, I did a little research online and found Mike's Pizzeria. Their bacon cheeseburger deluxe which comes with french fries won me over right away. The burger was filling, the meat juicy, and the accompanying french fries were crispy and nicely salted. Next, I tried their onion rings, and they are one of my favorite onion rings that I found out there. I was so hooked on this place right away that I ordered from them two days straight. In those two days, I ordered the same burger and the quality was consistent. Their pasta with white clam sauce was a pleasant experience. The noodles were a little bland, but the rich sauce made up for it. I have little hesitation trying their other pasta dishes. Their garlic knots have been hit or miss. I somewhat judge a pizzeria by how well they make garlic knots, and Mike's was crunchy and garlicky one time, but dry and bland the next. I do enjoy some garlicky garlic knots! As for their pizza, I haven't tried their traditional offering, but I am hooked on their gourmet Grandma pizza. It is a square-shaped pie, but unlike Sicilian, it's thin crusted and more seasoned than usual. The best part is that it's garlicky, which caters 100% to my taste buds. Grandma's pizza is even better with a topping. The few times I've been in-store were pleasant. I recall my experience with a friendly female cashier and she informed me that the garlic knots were free when you order in-store. That would have made me come in more often, but I do live a short distance away, and I would prefer the laziness of delivery. I give Mike's bonus points for having a website to maneuver through their menu. My only complaint is that there are no topping options on some items, such as the Grandma pizza, but you can leave a comment on how you would like each dish to be prepared. This is helpful because my father undergoes dialysis treatments which means he can't have salt and so I am grateful that they accommodate special requests, such as no sodium on the chicken noodle soup. In my short time being acquainted with Mike's Pizzeria, I can definitely say that this pizzeria has become my new go-to place for, not only pizza, but also burgers, french fries, onion rings, and perhaps other dishes that I haven't tried, when I'm home feeling lazy to cook. Although this place is a bit pricey to feed my family, I think it's definitely worth it. Four stars... I really like this place. Will I return? Of course! Grandma's pizza is great! read more

I used to come here all the time back in the day when I lived in the neighborhood. I stopped by recently for old times sake and the place has changed a bit as they've added to the menu. I ordered a regular slice and it was pretty much the same as it was in the '90's - a good typical New York slice. This isn't a place that you go out of your way to visit, but if you happen to be in the area, you can't go wrong eating here. Mike's pizza is my go to pizza place if dominos is too expensive. Although the pizza is a bit too greasy (you could poor it off the pizza), it taste delicious. The garlic knots are the best because they put the perfect amount of garlic on it, that you can taste it, but your breath won't clear out the place. Everyone there is very sweet and nice. I've never had a bad service there. Delivery is awesome too, but my only problem is that you must purchase a minimum of $10. Meaning I have to order pizza, garlic knots, lemonade, and a dessert to have it delivered. Other then that, the place is awesome. read more

I work in Brooklyn and let me tell you its hard as hell to find any good food around here that don't leave your stomach trying to escape your body because the food is so disgusting !!! BUT one night (Thank You Heavens) I found Mikes Pizza !!!!!!!!!!!!! They answered the phone politely and spoke clearly and I ordered my chicken parm hero a certain way and WOW came exactly they way I asked ... one night I called and asked if they were still dlivering she said yes but ya gotta be quick cuz were closing soon .. trust me called back in 5 minutes and got my order delivered in 30 min... now people understand as in any business (especially restaurant there's that nasty rush hour so yeah sometimes its a lil late but its still hot and your gonna eat (or hello go pick it up) just stop whining !! but back to the food it was AWESOME . I just recently ordered baked ziti and penne vodka from this restaurant and I have never been so disappointed. I ordered it off an app EAT24 and for some reason their prices on this app were more expensive then their actual prices so when I ordered my food they charged me the real prices then added an additional charge. When I called to try to fix this issue the man I spoke to was nothing but completely rude and did not care. I also brought up an issue with the baked ziti because it had one slice of cheese on it and the only response I got was "that's just how we make it" with all attitude. I spoke to someone from the app about my issue and they instantly helped me. After this, the man from the restaurant called me back and instead of apologizing he told me I should not have spoke to him the way I did. This is a greedy, selfish restaurant that I would never go to again. I have never experienced this kind of service before and it was unacceptable. read more
