I waited 2 hours for this and I'd easily do it again. Food: (5/5) This was actually my second time ever having Mike's and I can't seem to get enough. They have the BEST shave ice around. My first time around, I got the lilikoi pog with li hing mui and vanilla ice cream. AMAZING. It was sweet but not too sweet, a little tangy, good portion for 1-2 people, and balanced by the mochi and fresh strawberries. I loved it so much I got it again my second time around just without the vanilla ice cream. If you're getting Mike's for the first time, 100% get this and li hing mui is a must. My cousin got the calamansi mango sago which was also pretty good but not our favorite. The calamansi came thru much stronger than the mango which I liked but know isn't for everyone. The sago and coconut flakes gave it a pleasant earthiness/nuttiness. I probably wouldn't get it again, but I'm still glad we tried it. Service: (5/5) Everything here is made to order so just know that there will be a wait. Even after a supperrrr long line, the team was still really friendly and accommodating. Literally nothing but praise and love for this business.
I have waited YEARS to finally catch a Mike's Shave Ice popup. I saw one of my friends on Instagram post they went to the popup at the Renton Farmer's Market this week, which I missed. Luckily, there were other popups scheduled for this week. On Wednesday, my boyfriend and I drove up to Kirkland for the Kirkland Wednesday Market. We arrived a little after 4PM and was able to snag parking in the area. It was $2.40 for two hours, which is amazing for parking. Unfortunately, the Halo Halo Shave Ice was already sold out by the time we arrived. We opted to order the Strawberry Mango Sago Shave Ice with an additional add on of Ube Ice Cream. The total was under $14 after the add-on and tax. The best part was there was no wait! It probably helped that it was a bit chillier that day. So happy to have finally tried Mike's Shave Ice. It was delicious and nothing like regular shave ice/snow caps. This is WAAAY better. I hope I can catch another popup soon to try the Halo Halo Shave Ice!
I got Mikes shaved ice at an event this past week, and it was honestly so good and so needed! It was crazy hot outside and the shaved ice really hit the spot. I didn't think it was too sweet, and I could really taste all of the flavors. It was done very fast, and I'm glad I got to try it!
When I was walking around the Saturday market in South Lake Union, I was looking for a quick and easy dessert. I thought I was going to get like a small cup of ice cream or a churro or something. That's when I noticed this pretty large line outside this popup called Mike's Shaved Ice - which I thought was odd because none of the other dessert places nearby had any line at all. Was this place really that good that people were willing to wait 20-30 minutes when they could get something else for another place for free? Turns out, yes, it is This might take the cake as the best dessert I've had in Seattle My goodness, this was good I think I've had shaved ice before at some point, and I recently had a snow cone, which is somewhat similar, but nothing could have prepared me for how incredibly good this tasted. I got 3 flavors - pineapple, blue vanilla, and orange dream, and each bite had so much sweet, juicy, just-absolutely-perfect flavor that it was bursting in my mouth. When I took my first bite, I was in awe at how amazing that was. The ice was shaved so thin you couldn't even really feel the individual crystals at all. After taking a bite, it lasts a few second and melts away into your tongue, leaving nothing but that amazing syrup poured on top of the ice. It was truly a magical experience Picture this - you're scooping away, encountering zero resistance at all, and each bite can be one of 3 diverse but incredible flavors. Also, this thing is pretty damn big as well I've gotten this far without even talking about the vanilla ice cream inside. It seemed to normally be a topping, but I got mine inside because reasons? I'm not complaining at all though, because after you get to the ice cream, a lot of the shaved ice is melted, so you're kind of just eating the ice cream with the flavored syrup, which is also a fantastic experience. If I ever get the chance, I would like to try it with the ice cream on top, however This is slightly expensive for ice cream, but well within reason when you see how much you get.
love love love Mikes Shave Ice! Best shave ice in WA. You can find them at farmers markets and other pop ups in the Seattle area, luckily they come down to Lacey here and there. Staff is always nice and makes you feel a sense of community. Quality of their ingredients are always so fresh and can be very nostalgic and give you that home feeling if you're from HI. You can always find these guys with a long line, but everything is worth the wait and surprisingly goes by quickly. Fluffiest ice, just the right amount of sweetness for their syrups, and balanced toppings. Will always support local businesses, especially when they're connected to Hawaii!
It's the best shave ice in the Seattle area. Just follow the long line from this truck, which makes an appearance around farmer's markets in the area. I was finally able to check out Mike's Shave Ice and see what the fuss was all about. And okay, I get it. I've attempted to wait in line for Mike's Shave Ice a few times, always giving up because I tell myself I'll just get it next time. And at the last farmer's market day in Bellevue, the truck made an appearance, and there was hardly a line. Pure luck! This is never the case, so I tell you that if you don't see a line here, get in THEN AND NOW. Because there will be a line soon. And they sell out of items! The menu is straightforward with different flavors for the shave ice that you can customize or try one of their signature items, like the halo halo, which is what I ordered. It didn't take too long to make, and it was refreshing, especially with the shave ice and ube ice cream and jelly. If you like halo halo, you'll like this one. But everything on the menu looked delicious; I'd like to try something else next time. Like I said, it's the best shave ice in the Seattle area, offering refreshing, light, fruit-forward shave ice.
Everything about this place was awesome except the wait time (i wish they get more help)!! In $18, we got: - mango sago shaved ice - 5/5- amazing presentation, loved the tiny sago and mochi cubes and perfectly ripe chopped mango on top :) too good!! - choose 3 flavors - 5/5- loved this too, it looked lesser than the mango but tasted better!! We added ice cream and condensed milk which enhanced the flavor immensely. It's located in a busy Thursday bellevue farmers market, the line was 1 hour plus. My suggestion, take turns standing in line while also enjoying the pizza from the next door pop up.
Mike's shaved ice... Best shaved ice experience I've ever had. So I come from the East Coast, so truly good shaved ice is much harder to come by than the inferior "snow cone". Mike's was SUCH a treat. Their flavor choices are amazing, and all the ingredients are so fresh. My wife got strawberry and I got a passionfruit, I can't remember the names exactly, but they were both phenomenal! They were perfectly sweetened, the texture was amazing, toppings were well thought out. There's really not much more you could ask for! The staff were all so nice as well! We can't wait to get to one of their next pop-ups!

I heard my coworker mentioned Mike's Shave Ice has a pop up in Renton at a neighborhood park. I right away dropped by after work. The line was so long, but shaved ice really lived up to the hype. Really nice add-on for a hot day after work. I had mango sago and likikoi I believe! They all tasted very refreshing and fruity, not too sweet at all. The syrup is homemade I believe? Tastes like come straight out of mango and strawbery to me. They ran out of mochi when I got there but all good!
My honorary 100th review goes out to Mike's Shave Ice for a reason! We always try to frequent and catch this truck whenever we get the chance to. It is melt in your mouth good and always hits the spot. If you're looking for good shave ice, skip the trip to hawaii and come here instead. So much better than matsumoto's in my opinion. We have been to the one in Fremont market and Renton a handful of times. Sometimes the line gets long but it goes by quick. I love the customer service, vibe, and one of a kind menu from this place! My go to order is usually the mango sago with ube ice cream. Perfect for a hot summer day.
I had been looking forward to trying Mike's Shave Ice for a long time. I finally got the chance to try it at the Mercer Island Farmers Market. It was amazing and everything I expected! I got the Strawberry Mango Sago Shave Ice. I loved the strawberry syrup because you could really taste that it was made in house. The sago wasn't too sweet and its creaminess balanced the shaved ice. It's a summer treat and I would love to come back and try the other flavors! read more
Finally got to catch Mike's Shave Ice after following them for so long at Bellevue Farmers Market. It was great for such a hot day and I got the Calamansi Mango Sago Shave Ice! It was creamy sour sweet and cold enough to cool me down. Hopefully I get a chance to catch them in the future! read more

Expect long, long lines and wait times, but just know - Mike's Shave Ice IS WORTH EVERY SECOND OF WAITING. Such tasty combinations, fresh ingredients, and beautiful, picture-worthy shave ice. Mike's Shave Ice is reminiscent of the shave ice we've had in Hawaii. We will follow this food truck anywhere! Highly recommend! read more

This place changed the trajectory in my life! It's not everyday you discover your absolute favorite dessert of all time. The mango shave ice was hands down the best dessert I've ever had in my life. The combination of shave ice with vanilla ice cream was rich and creamy but finished so refreshingly light. The mango really pulled everything together with a nice juicy tropical burst. 10/10 on this item alone for me! The macaroons are good too! I'm not an expert and don't know the difference between good macaroons and bad ones. So, it stands to reason that I should do more research read more
Since I've been away from the islands for awhile, the 'homesick' feeling has been weighing heavy. I've been eyeing out Mike's Shave Ice for the longest, but I couldn't make it out to see them. Fortunately, when I stumbled upon them at the Fremont Sunday Market , I knew I needed to try it. It ended up being, by far, the best shave ice I have ever had! Although the lines may look long, their high popularity is there for a reason and it is worth the wait! They have customizable and specialty flavors to choose from, so I got the lilikoi pog specialty flavor topped with condensed milk, mochi and minced strawberries! I asked to add on some ihing mui on top The flavors were refreshing and not too sweet, which is no suprise since they use natural syrups instead of artificial I was able to talk story with Mike for a bit as we reminisced about our days back home on the islands, so it felt very comforting to have that connection between us His partner, Jamie, was also so sweet to talk to! Hands down this shave ice is a 10/10highly recommend‼Not only was the shave packed with flavor and not overly sweet, but it was beautifully presented and well-balanced. The best shaved ice in the greater Seattle area and dare I say better than some in Hawaii! I've had Mike's 3 times when they do pop ups at the Bellevue Thursday farmer's market. The staff is friendly while ordering too. I've tried the POG, mango sago, and strawberry mango sago. Mango sago is my favorite and I always get extra mochi because it's yummy, soft, and flavorful (some mochis taste like nothing but dough). The shaved ice is refreshing and not overbearingly sweet. Lines can be over an hour's wait long during the summer. I look forward to going more often in the future to try new flavors or to get the mango sago again. read more
This is awesome, authentic to Hawaii, SHAVE ICE... not shaved ice. We got the Lilikoi POG shave ice with a showcase (condensed milk), ice cream and extra mochi. It tastes so good - not like fake, over sugary syrups. It's very balanced and refreshing. read more
It's not summertime in Seattle unless you're enjoying Mike's Shave Ice. I've been a fan for years and always feel blessed when I'm standing in a short line to get my shave ice fix. I say this because I've seen long line for days at other venues, in which case I wait until next time. My company has had them at two company events and they do a superb job with customer service and offering a delicious cold treat. Mike's gets rave reviews from the attendees at our events. I recently found them at the Fremont Sunday Market. It doesn't matter what time you go, there will usually be a line. On this visit, luckily the line wasn't too long and I may have waited 15-20 minutes. Mike's Shave Ice is like what you would get in Hawaii. It is not to be missed. They post their schedule on IG, so keep an eye out. read more
I'm so glad I got to finally try Mike's Shave Ice -- they do a ton of pop-ups around the greater Seattle area and I really appreciate how they go to different sides of Seattle at least once a week. They were in Renton on the day I went, only 5 minutes from my house! I've heard great things about their shave ice so I've been wanting to try for the longest time now. I ordered the Strawberry Mango Sago and loved it -- their syrups did not taste artificial at all, and I've never thought of adding sago to Shave Ice before! It was flavorful, not too sweet, and really refreshing, even on a cold day! This is also one of the few desserts in the area where I feel like you're not overpaying for both the quality and quantity of food that you're getting. Definitely coming back whenever they stop by Renton! read more

Mike's Shave Ice is so good!! It's not crushed ice, it's legit Hawaiian shave ice. Dissolves in your mouth and full of flavor. The trailer pops up at different farmers markets and such -- check their Instagram for the next time! They have premade combos, or you can build your own. Flavors include mango, guava, strawberry, etc, and for toppings you can get yummy pillows of mochi on top, fresh fruit like mango and strawberry, and a vegan coconut cream with sago bits. Non-vegan toppings include ube ice cream and sweetened and condensed milk. They always have a premade "halo halo" with all the different toppings -- including sweet beans! I've never tried this one. The people who work there are so nice! And very efficient. Sometimes there's a line but it's worth the wait! read more

It was great! The shaved ice was very refreshing and did not taste like the typical artificial sweeteners for their fruit syrup. The ice was really fluffy and the flavors complement well with the coconut cream. The owners are incredibly hard working and were very accommodating. read more

I followed @mikesshaveice ig for a while to track their weekly location spots. Wherever there is a long line of people, just follow it to lead yourself to Mike's Shave Ice trailer! They have lots of set options as well as a build-your-own menu. In typical Asian complimentary style, it's not too sweet the mochi is soft and the coconut cream does not overpower the ice flavoring. Next time, I will forsure try their halo-halo shaved ice. read more

Mike's Shave Ice is a pop up food truck. Coming from Vancouver, I've always missed their pop-ups!! This time, I was finally in town the same time as one of their pop-ups!! And let me tell you, it was worth the hour line up. Great service & friendly staff! We got: mango strawberry sago shaved ice (added Li Hing Mui), Halo Halo and their mango sago shaved ice. All three were super refreshing, especially under the heat! The Halo Halo was my ultimate favourite!! Absolutely out of this world and I'm drooling just thinking about it again... Suggestion: add extra toppings to your shaved ice. Whether it be ice cream or li hing mui, it adds a special touch to it. The mango sago on its own was a little bland because the mango syrup didn't seep all the way into the middle/bottom of shaved ice in my opinion.. so a scoop of ice cream would have been perfect with it! read more
They really brought the island to the mainland with this treat. There is only 3 people working the truck so the line was long. We waited about an hour or so to get a taste. I ordered the Lilikoi pog shave ice and it came with diced strawberries and 4 pieces of mochi. I think the price is a little steep for what you get but the flavors are on point. They also need bigger bowls or bowls with longer rims to catch the spill over. If they packed on more shave ice like they do in Hawaii then this would definitely be a 5 star spot. read more
Probably one of the best shaved ice I've had in Seattle! Caught them at the Fremont sunday market and am so glad I waited in line for this. The flavors are super fresh and tasty and the sweetness is not artificial at all. The mochi also goes so well with the shaved ice and adds a nice chewy texture. Best shave ice off (and on?) the island. I spoiled my partner by introducing him to Mike's, and when we went back to Hawai'i to visit my family, he compared every shave ice place we went to as Mike's. He considers Mike's his new gold standard. The shave on the ice is good. The flavor of the syrup is good and not artificial tasting. The mochi is chewy. Service is good. Every time the truck comes to stop nearby, I try to make a stop. It's absolutely worth it. read more

First went here on a Thursday with my girlfriend who saw them on instagram. Loved the flavor. Genuine Hawaiian shave ice. My girlfriend loved the strawberry mango sago so much we went to the next pop up place the next day! Will definitely be keeping an eye out for them and will be supporting this business in the future! read more
I remember the first time I saw a pop up for them and was a slightly intrigued but not enough to actually go. Biggest regret of my life. Do not be a Doubting Debra and do go to their website or IG page to find their calendar of pop up events. You will want to go. You need to go. In fact, RUN and do not walk. My experience is based on two pop ups in Renton. The first visit, I arrived about 20 minutes after starting time and there was a good and long line. It took about 25 minutes for me to be able to place my order and then waited about 10-15 minutes after I placed my order to receive my shaved ice. On my first visit, I went with one of the specialty flavors and ordered Mango + Sago and added a scoop of Vanilla ice cream. What I received was in fact perfection. It took me back to my first bite of Shaved Ice in Hawaii and brought back instant memories of good time. You think, it's just ice how good can it be? But it's smooth, creamy and sweet in ways that just are not explainable. They obviously have the right machine for shaved ice but what they also do well is the toppings. The mango was sweet and perfectly cut. The mochi was fresh and chewy. The vanilla ice cream was smooth and creamy. Just perfection my friends. It was so good, I went back the next day as they were going to be in Renton again. I arrived right at 4:30 and the line was even longer. The wait time from start to finish was about an hour. And on this visit, I ordered the Halo Halo with mochi. My mochi came served on the side because there was just simply no room to put it. But as someone who grew up in eating halo halo, this in fact was my one of my all time favorites. The jellies, the beans and coconut mix, the puff and toasted rice along with the ice ice cream - my GAWD - I never loved something so much. On my third visit, I went to the Saturday market at Sourh Lake Union and got my shaved ice in less than 5 minutes. Perfect timing? I don't know. But I was extremely happy. It's was my son's first time and he loved it as well. He went with traditional with orange dream, watermelon, & strawberry with vanilla ice cream and a snow cap. I tried the LiliKoi Pog and added vanilla ice cream as well. Supreme! Even if you don't want to try one of the speciality flavors, you can do traditional Hawaiian Shave Ice with snow cap and all. At the time of my visit, the mango + sago was $9. The halo halo $10. And their traditional was $6. Add ons for snow cap (sweetened condensed milk) and li hung mui (sweet & salty plum powder) are free. They do have a dairy free option (haupia) coconut cream topping. So you can absolutely enjoy if you are looking for a dairy free option! I do know, I'll be back and it won't be soon enough. Definitely need this in my life on a regular basis. They are super friendly and I love the cute trailer. It's a lot of work and love they put into the Hawaiian Shave Ice and you can definitely tell. read more

45 minute wait for this but it was really sapid on a hot day. we tried the lilikoi pog flavor which comes with strawberries and four pieces of mochi. i love pog so this hit the spot, but wish they gave more mochi!! read more
