In any case not a ton of seating so if it's busy you may be doing take out. Last night a few friends and I went out to eat. We weren't certain where we wanted to go, but we ended up craving ramen. So we decided to try Mymen Ramen. I can only start with the old saying "nothing is for free." Mymen Ramen embraces this to a fault. Where some places would give you complementary toppings or even lemon for your water, they do not. So understand that you may want to add to the flavors of your meal, but it does cost. Now that is out of the way, I can only say that I felt bad for our host as she was running the front by herself. She was seating people, busing tables, taking orders and serving the customers their meals. We were met with a very hospitable personality, but there is only so much a single person can do at one time. So it took nearly an hour and a half to get seated and served. Once we started to receive our order, it was very flavorful. As we started with takoyaki, and chicken karaage. Both of which were good, but the next appetizer was the impossible gyoza. These weren't bad, but not the same as your standard meat fill gyoza. Maybe the chicken skin wrapped would have been a better choice. As for the main meal, I chose the tonkotsu ramen, and added black garlic oil, and extra ramen. I do love my garlic in my tonkotsu ramen, but all this was an additional $8, up grade. As for the ambiance it was a small dining area, so not overly loud or crowded, but since seating is limited, there was a bit of a wait. Once seated it was comfortable and welcoming. So it was hard to share such an experience. I could see wanting to try some of their other offerings, but the pricing for every bit makes it hard to feel this dining experience is right for such a comfort food. Ramen to me should be a comfort food, that makes you feel at home. I don't mind paying for a good meal, but what is an included condiment at other establishments, it isn't so at Mymen. The restaurant is pretty small and intimate. It's located in a pretty small plaza, but parking wasn't too difficult to find. It's never been too crowded every time I've paid a visit, so I never had to wait to get seated. FOOD: Mymen Mazesoba (5/5) - Very delicious dry noodle dish. In addition to a delightful umami, it leans into a prominent garlic flavor that I, a person who believes there's no such thing as too much garlic, thoroughly enjoyed. The noodles have a wonderful, firm, and bouncy texture that holds the sauce coating well. I also like to pay a little extra to make this dish spicy. SERVICE: The staff are really nice and helpful. The broth was amazing, a clear indicator for the ramen to be good! Good option to swap out thin noodles for thick noodles for $2 extra dollars. Price increased over the years so reasonable. If you were considering of getting the jalapeno on the side for either the level one or adding on the spicy paste, just get the level one because it already comes with the jalapeno and it's on the same spice level as adding in the paste on the side ($1 vs $2). Had to change it with the server and she was very flexible. Also they have the option to add black garlic oil on the side to your broth, you have to pour it yourself after and it's not a lot but having that as a side adds flavor to the broth! There was one server taking orders for the whole restaurant, so service was understandably a bit slow, but kind and attentive nonetheless! We ordered the Mymen Mazemen, Tonkatsu Ramen, and Karaage. Karaage was crispy and juicy! Seasoned pretty well and satisfying. My only gripe was that it didn't come with sauce, which was an up charge of $2. The Tonkatsu Ramen was decent! The broth was creamy and rich, but didn't have too much going on flavor wise. Noodles were a great texture though! The Mymen Mazemen was also pretty good. Portion was large, and the garlic and green onion flavors were strong. I found it to be a bit on the sweeter side, which is different from the Mazemen I've had at Mogu Mogu and Menya Hanabi. I would've liked it a bit more savory, and I was bummed that adding spice was also an upcharge. Overall, the food was decent! We went here on a Thursday night and half the restaurant was filled. It was pretty quiet inside and they had Japanese decorations. There was only one lady serving and she seated us right away. I ordered the Mymen Mazesoba which was $16 and I got level two spicy that cost an additional $2. My ramen came out within 10 minutes. The level 2 spicy came with a jalapeño as well. It was a good spice for level 2. The lady told me when I'm half way of my ramen I should put in vinegar. She also gave me a tiny bit of rice to eat with the leftovers bits after eating all the noodles. Overall the food was really good, service was quick, and the total to everything was about $22 after tax and tip. Portion might be alittle tiny for others, but I think it's fine. Would I recommend this place? Yes, it also closes pretty late which makes it a good late spot for ramen. This will probably be my go to place since I live really close! read more

Just found our new favorite ramen spot! After driving past this restaurant almost every day, we decided to finally give it a try based on all the good reviews, and OMG we've been missing out! The flavor is as good as everyone is raving about! We both ordered the tonkatsu and LOVED it! I love to eat thick noodles, so I decided to pay the additional $1 for it and I'm so glad I did. The thick noodles are *almost* like udon but still has the firmness of ramen. It's like the best of both worlds. I also made my bowl at level 1 spice (+ $1) and it was just enough for me to feel a kick! My husband made his bowl at spice level 4 (+ $3), which is the second to highest spice level. His spice tolerance is very high as someone who's Thai/Laos, and he really enjoyed it! It wasn't just hot, but the flavor of the spice was prominent and tasted very good. We also really liked the chashu because it was sliced at the perfect thickness and it wasn't too salty. The server was a very sweet lady and the restaurant is not too big, not too small, with a decent amount of tables. Another plus is that they open late on most days, so you can get your late-night ramen cravings fixed. The only downside for us is that, since they charge extra for switching noodles and adding spice, the cost of the bowls ends up being a bit pricey compared to some other restaurants. But if you don't care for thick noodles, or eating spicy, then this shouldn't be a problem! Nonetheless, we're gonna be back many times. :) read more

My new favorite ramen spot! This is a small restaurant with eight 4 person tables. They don't have a huge selection of noodle dishes (4 to be exact), but they do them well and their appetizers/snacks are better than most that I've had elsewhere! Their lunch combos are a great way to try some of their appetizers. Here's what we got: Geso Karaage ($9) I've been looking for the perfect fried squid tentacles and this is it! Perfectly deep fried without being greasy or heavy and they were well seasoned. They came with a dipping sauce on the side to give a slight kick. Tonkotsu ($16 + $4 for Takoyaki in lunch combo) Perfect bowl of ramen where all the components shined. The yellow wavy noodles gripped onto the broth really well and the broth was rich in flavor without being too salty or heavy. It came with 3 thinly sliced chashu that was melt-in-the-mouth tender and had a nice char. The egg had a creamy yolk that burst with umami. It was so good I devoured this entire bowl! The 3 Takoyaki that came in the lunch combo was solid as well. Mazesoba ($16 + $4 for Karaage Fried Chicken in lunch combo) I've had mazemen at other restaurants and this mazesoba is very comparable to them. You can adjust the spicy level though it is additional cost. We didn't end up adding any spice, but I think it needed a slight kick. It was still delicious though! The lunch combo also came with 2 pieces of Karaage Fried Chicken which was so tender and crispy! Overall, this is a solid ramen spot with delicious food and friendly staff. You add some vinegar and mix everything really well. They also provide a really small scoop of rice so you mix it with the sauce after you finish your noodle. I got their regular thin noodles and they were cooked perfectly and I enjoyed it. My friends got the popular Mymen Mazesoba dry noodles. It came with a bowl of rice. I did end up trying some and really liked it. I would get that next time. Besides our ramen bowls we got a lot of appetizers. We tried their tofu, takoyaki, brussel sprouts and Karaage fried chicken. Been here twice already and overall I find this to be an underrated, solid ramen place! The first time I was here I got the tonkotsu ramen and it hit the spot! The broth was rich, I opted for the thick noodles and that really made it a hearty meal. Good flavor! The latest time I went I tried the vegan ramen, and tasted some of the wonton shoyu. The vegan ramen was so good! The cauliflower had this nice roasted flavor to it and the broth was so rich, you wouldn't think vegan broth could be rich and flavorful but this is! The only other place I've had vegan ramen is hironori, and I think both nail their vegan ramen. So if you like that one, this one is on par and unique in its own way. I love swapping the noodles for the thick noodles, and adding garlic + spicy paste to the broth. I tried a little of the shoyu and that was delicious and classic also. Delicious mazesoba!!! Honestly, better tha menya hanabi... BOTH LOCATIONS. Menya's mazesoba was once my favorite. But after trying to mymen, my opinion has changed. The flavor of the mazesoba here is way more developed, as in the sauce balances each other out a lot more than the Menya one. After eating at menya, I always felt like i drank two tubs of butter. I do prefer the slightly more sweet flavor here since it's not overly salty which does overpower the menya dish. Be warned, it does take a while since it's just one sweet lady at the time of my review. She did the clean up, the table waiting, and cashiering. Basically a one man team.
