super good flavor very rich and deep but its a very small bowl. The tonkotsu ramen was 19 dollars and I would say the price is justified for the taste but I wouldn't come too hungry unless you plan to order appetizers as well. The decorations were also nice there were shelves of manga and their collection was huge.
This place was disappointing. The mazesoba was ok taste but small portion. The tonkotsu didn't taste anything like tonkotsu but had an instant ramen taste for some reason (maybe they used instant ramen broth and instant ramen package to make it). I love instant ramen but this tasted odd. The portion was very small and the meat was cut so thin. Both items were $18 each, extra $1 to make the tonkotsu spicy but it was not spicy at all, and another extra $3 for bamboo shoot which was just a few slices. That's pretty pricey for such small portion. I was still hungry after my meal.
This is a decent ramen place. Food was good. Customer service was interesting. The server was nice. However, it was a bit awkward when the manager/owner told us that the baby in our party counted as a 5th person, so the service charge of 18% would apply. We usually tip well, so I didn't mind the amount. It was just weird how they counted a baby that was too young to eat. * Tonkotsu Ramen 4/5 - The ramen was good. I got the spicy paste on the side to add a little kick and it gave the ramen better flavor. The chasu was thin pieces that were slightly charred. The soft boiled egg was good. * Sausage 3/5 - Pretty standard sausages. * Karaage Chicken 5/5 - These came out piping hot and crispy with a juicy interior.
Last night a few friends and I went out to eat. We weren't certain where we wanted to go, but we ended up craving ramen. So we decided to try Mymen Ramen. I can only start with the old saying "nothing is for free." Mymen Ramen embraces this to a fault. Where some places would give you complementary toppings or even lemon for your water, they do not. So understand that you may want to add to the flavors of your meal, but it does cost. Now that is out of the way, I can only say that I felt bad for our host as she was running the front by herself. She was seating people, busing tables, taking orders and serving the customers their meals. We were met with a very hospitable personality, but there is only so much a single person can do at one time. So it took nearly an hour and a half to get seated and served. Once we started to receive our order, it was very flavorful. As we started with takoyaki, and chicken karaage. Both of which were good, but the next appetizer was the impossible gyoza. These weren't bad, but not the same as your standard meat fill gyoza. Maybe the chicken skin wrapped would have been a better choice. As for the main meal, I chose the tonkotsu ramen, and added black garlic oil, and extra ramen. I do love my garlic in my tonkotsu ramen, but all this was an additional $8, up grade. As for the ambiance it was a small dining area, so not overly loud or crowded, but since seating is limited, there was a bit of a wait. Once seated it was comfortable and welcoming. So it was hard to share such an experience. I could see wanting to try some of their other offerings, but the pricing for every bit makes it hard to feel this dining experience is right for such a comfort food. Ramen to me should be a comfort food, that makes you feel at home. I don't mind paying for a good meal, but what is an included condiment at other establishments, it isn't so at Mymen. Enjoy!!
MyMen Ramen is an excellent spot for anyone who loves flavorful, satisfying ramen. The food was fantastic, with rich, well balanced flavors in every dish we tried. You can tell the ingredients are fresh and carefully prepared. The vibes of the place are great, welcoming, relaxed, and perfect for a casual meal. The restaurant is clean and well maintained, which makes for a comfortable dining experience. Overall, MyMen Ramen delivers on both quality and atmosphere. I highly recommend it to anyone craving delicious ramen and a pleasant dining environment. I will definitely be coming back.
My friend put me onto Mymen Ramen, and it has become my favorite spot to get mazesoba. I'm actually surprised this place isn't as well-known as other spots. The restaurant is pretty small and intimate. It's located in a pretty small plaza, but parking wasn't too difficult to find. It's never been too crowded every time I've paid a visit, so I never had to wait to get seated. FOOD: Mymen Mazesoba (5/5) - Very delicious dry noodle dish. In addition to a delightful umami, it leans into a prominent garlic flavor that I, a person who believes there's no such thing as too much garlic, thoroughly enjoyed. The noodles have a wonderful, firm, and bouncy texture that holds the sauce coating well. I also like to pay a little extra to make this dish spicy. SERVICE: The staff are really nice and helpful. My only slight qualm with this place is that your food takes a hot minute to come out, even when there's not a large crowd. I would say the food is worth it, though, and the wait isn't even that bad.

I was too hungry to take a picture of the rest but THE CHICKEN KARAGE AND TAKOYAKI HIT THE SPOT VERY JUICY AND CRISP AND TENDER! The tonkatsu ramen was very creamy and well done and the dry noodle dish they had had a strong umami flavor with a perfect sousvide egg and they give you a small portion of rice after to soak up the seasoning! A lovely Japanese couple run this shop and they are very kind too! I'll definitely come back!

They had figurines in the front of the store and a bookshelf with a manga collection in the corner. The staff are all really kind and friendly. They seemed like they cared about the customers experience. FOOD I got the Chicken Karaage and Mymen Mazesoba (spicy level 3). The chicken karaage skin was so crispy, and the chicken thigh was so juicy. The Mymen Mazesoba spicy level 3 was actually really spicy but my spice tolerance is pretty high, so I recommend level 1-2 if you want it spicy. The noodles were a udon texture. The flavor was beefy and fishy in the best way. The fresh green onions and garlic make it so bright.
i love mymen!! super close to me so i like going whenever i'm craving ramen. good amount of seating inside but the parking lot can get a bit crowded. the owner is always so kind as well! tonkotsu ramen is super yummy! the broth is nice and rich, not lacking in flavor at all. the pork belly is sliced thinly which i enjoy! it can be pretty thick from other places. the hot chicken bao bun is also yummy, i love the slaw and pickled cucumbers inside. overall a solid spot if you're in the area and craving ramen!!

I came here for dinner with one of my friends and it was such a hidden gem! There was plenty of parking in a nearly empty plaza and looked so unassuming, but the decor inside totally blew me away. Our server was very nice and attentive the entire time. I got the Mymen Mazesoba with level 3 spice. It was so good! I loved how flavorful and umami it was. Everything mixed together so nicely! Also, the level 3 spice was definitely spicier than I expected, and the server warned me but I was stubborn... I was still able to eat it but my stomach wasn't happy with me the next day... Halfway through, I mixed in some of the vinegar on the table to slightly adjust the flavor, and I never got sick of it. I love that there's leftover meat/sauce at the end that you can mix in with the small rice portion they give you. Overall, a wonderful experience! read more

Flavorful ramen with spice levels and add-ons for extra $$. Quick service. Great attentive staff. Been here a few times and never had any complaints. I've only had the ramen, hot chicken bao buns, and impossible gyoza. 10/10 I'll be back again. read more

I stopped coming here because it got wayyyy too expensive... $18 for a ramen bowl on top of adding spice level in which you get charged for along with toppings that you want to add already puts a ramen bowl at $20+. I used to get their geso karage a lot but I don't think I can justify paying $12 for 6 pieces.... In total for 1 person it would already cost roughly $35-40 which I don't think is worth. Service is never really slow but I can't justify spending that much on myself or let along with my partner/friends. Not quite sure if the business is still busy as it was before with the new prices read more

There was plenty of parking when we came on a weekday evening and no wait time. My party immediately got seated and the kind staff handed us our menus. I ordered the mazesoba since it seems to be the most popular item here. We were served water and when I took a sip, I breathed in a noticeable fishy odor. The cup smelled like a fish tank! All the cups at our table also smelled like that so we didn't drink much. The mazesoba wasn't very salty compared to other places, however the portion size is quite small for the price. It left me wanting more! I tried a piece of chicken karaage that someone in my party ordered and it was crispy and juicy but we both agreed it had a strange aftertaste. Overall, the food was okay. Mymen is a cozy little mazemen/ramen shop! Lots of warm, homestyle vibes inside with a wall of mangas by the register. Pretty small space with a handful of tables for seating, maybe 6-8 tables? There was one server taking orders for the whole restaurant, so service was understandably a bit slow, but kind and attentive nonetheless! We ordered the Mymen Mazemen, Tonkatsu Ramen, and Karaage. Karaage was crispy and juicy! Seasoned pretty well and satisfying. My only gripe was that it didn't come with sauce, which was an up charge of $2. The Tonkatsu Ramen was decent! The broth was creamy and rich, but didn't have too much going on flavor wise. Noodles were a great texture though! The Mymen Mazemen was also pretty good. Portion was large, and the garlic and green onion flavors were strong. I found it to be a bit on the sweeter side, which is different from the Mazemen I've had at Mogu Mogu and Menya Hanabi. I would've liked it a bit more savory, and I was bummed that adding spice was also an upcharge. Overall, the food was decent! Didn't blow me away, and a bit pricier than other Mazemen/ramen shops. read more

We went here on a Thursday night and half the restaurant was filled. It was pretty quiet inside and they had Japanese decorations. There was only one lady serving and she seated us right away. I ordered the Mymen Mazesoba which was $16 and I got level two spicy that cost an additional $2. My ramen came out within 10 minutes. The level 2 spicy came with a jalapeño as well. It was a good spice for level 2. The lady told me when I'm half way of my ramen I should put in vinegar. She also gave me a tiny bit of rice to eat with the leftovers bits after eating all the noodles. Overall the food was really good, service was quick, and the total to everything was about $22 after tax and tip. Portion might be alittle tiny for others, but I think it's fine. Would I recommend this place? Yes, it also closes pretty late which makes it a good late spot for ramen. This will probably be my go to place since I live really close! read more
Just found our new favorite ramen spot! After driving past this restaurant almost every day, we decided to finally give it a try based on all the good reviews, and OMG we've been missing out! The flavor is as good as everyone is raving about! We both ordered the tonkatsu and LOVED it! I love to eat thick noodles, so I decided to pay the additional $1 for it and I'm so glad I did. The thick noodles are *almost* like udon but still has the firmness of ramen. It's like the best of both worlds. I also made my bowl at level 1 spice (+ $1) and it was just enough for me to feel a kick! My husband made his bowl at spice level 4 (+ $3), which is the second to highest spice level. His spice tolerance is very high as someone who's Thai/Laos, and he really enjoyed it! It wasn't just hot, but the flavor of the spice was prominent and tasted very good. We also really liked the chashu because it was sliced at the perfect thickness and it wasn't too salty. The server was a very sweet lady and the restaurant is not too big, not too small, with a decent amount of tables. Another plus is that they open late on most days, so you can get your late-night ramen cravings fixed. The only downside for us is that, since they charge extra for switching noodles and adding spice, the cost of the bowls ends up being a bit pricey compared to some other restaurants. But if you don't care for thick noodles, or eating spicy, then this shouldn't be a problem! Nonetheless, we're gonna be back many times. :) read more

My new favorite ramen spot! This is a small restaurant with eight 4 person tables. They don't have a huge selection of noodle dishes (4 to be exact), but they do them well and their appetizers/snacks are better than most that I've had elsewhere! Their lunch combos are a great way to try some of their appetizers. Here's what we got: Geso Karaage ($9) I've been looking for the perfect fried squid tentacles and this is it! Perfectly deep fried without being greasy or heavy and they were well seasoned. They came with a dipping sauce on the side to give a slight kick. Tonkotsu ($16 + $4 for Takoyaki in lunch combo) Perfect bowl of ramen where all the components shined. The yellow wavy noodles gripped onto the broth really well and the broth was rich in flavor without being too salty or heavy. It came with 3 thinly sliced chashu that was melt-in-the-mouth tender and had a nice char. The egg had a creamy yolk that burst with umami. It was so good I devoured this entire bowl! The 3 Takoyaki that came in the lunch combo was solid as well. Mazesoba ($16 + $4 for Karaage Fried Chicken in lunch combo) I've had mazemen at other restaurants and this mazesoba is very comparable to them. You can adjust the spicy level though it is additional cost. We didn't end up adding any spice, but I think it needed a slight kick. It was still delicious though! The lunch combo also came with 2 pieces of Karaage Fried Chicken which was so tender and crispy! Overall, this is a solid ramen spot with delicious food and friendly staff. I would 100% come back, especially for the Geso Karaage and Tonkotsu. read more
There are plenty of parking spaces, but can get filled quickly. I ordered the Mymen Mazesoba and it was a dry noodle (no broth). The noodles were really creamy, soft, and delicious. You add some vinegar and mix everything really well. They also provide a really small scoop of rice so you mix it with the sauce after you finish your noodle. If you have 5 or more party OR if you need to combine two tables, they automatically add 18% gratuity. I am addicted! I don't care how far you are, you have to come. Everything is delcious and you can taste that it is made fresh in house! Came here with some friends for dinner for the first time. I've heard great things about their dry noodles but I really wanted something with broth since it was so cold out. I ended up getting the Shrimp Wonton Shoyu one which came with a egg, nori, half an egg, and bamboo. I got it with some corn and it was perfect. I am also appreciative that my friend told me level 3 price is too spicy. I got level 2 and that shit was hot. Even for someone like me that likes spicy. The ramen was good and flavorful. I got their regular thin noodles and they were cooked perfectly and I enjoyed it. My friends got the popular Mymen Mazesoba dry noodles. It came with a bowl of rice. I did end up trying some and really liked it. I would get that next time. Besides our ramen bowls we got a lot of appetizers. We tried their tofu, takoyaki, brussel sprouts and Karaage fried chicken. The fried chicken was my favorite. But all of their appetizers are cool. Bowls are about $20 which is affordable. The service was excellent but it was a little slow since it was really busy that night. We met around 6pm and there wasn't a wait but there was a wait after us. The restaurant is small and casual. Parking is easy since it's a a strip mall with a parking lot out front. I would come back again. read more

Came here on a Saturday night around 10m and was seated right away. I tried out this place when they were still in Santa Ana and it lived up to its hype. And still does. The tonkatsu ramen broth is so creamy and tasty. The chasu pork is so good and just the right amount of fatiness taste. The owners are so nice. Love the gundam on the wall. read more

Not that many customers yet the service was still attentive and understanding. Granted it was 10 PM on a weekday yet it was still open late for a ramen shop! The broth was amazing, a clear indicator for the ramen to be good! Good option to swap out thin noodles for thick noodles for $2 extra dollars. Price increased over the years so reasonable. If you were considering of getting the jalapeno on the side for either the level one or adding on the spicy paste, just get the level one because it already comes with the jalapeno and it's on the same spice level as adding in the paste on the side ($1 vs $2). Had to change it with the server and she was very flexible. Also they have the option to add black garlic oil on the side to your broth, you have to pour it yourself after and it's not a lot but having that as a side adds flavor to the broth! Been here twice already and overall I find this to be an underrated, solid ramen place! The first time I was here I got the tonkotsu ramen and it hit the spot! The broth was rich, I opted for the thick noodles and that really made it a hearty meal. Good flavor! The latest time I went I tried the vegan ramen, and tasted some of the wonton shoyu. The vegan ramen was so good! The cauliflower had this nice roasted flavor to it and the broth was so rich, you wouldn't think vegan broth could be rich and flavorful but this is! The only other place I've had vegan ramen is hironori, and I think both nail their vegan ramen. So if you like that one, this one is on par and unique in its own way. I love swapping the noodles for the thick noodles, and adding garlic + spicy paste to the broth. I tried a little of the shoyu and that was delicious and classic also. Located in a slightly unassuming plaza, this is a reliable ramen place that isnt too busy. Next time, I will definitely try the mazesoba. I tried this spot with my friend. She got the Tonkatsu and I tried the shrimp wonton shoyu. We also got the chicken karage and takoyaki. The shrimp wonton shoyu was actually pretty good! I loved the texture of the noodles and the flavor of the broth. Wontons were good too! The chicken karage was good but I realized it didn't come with a sauce. The takoyaki was really good! Flavor, texture, and good amount of octopus pieces inside! Service was great. Our server came back to refill our waters. And was considerate to ask if my friend wanted plastic utensils for her child (before we even asked). We came on a Saturday around 7 and there wasn't a wait. read more
There is a cute mom-and-pop ramen shop in Garden Grove that will definitely satisfy your ramen cravings! It's a small shop, with books on the wall which was a nice aesthetic touch and easy parking! Their menu is simple and straightforward, with Mymen Mazesoba and Tonkatsu ramen as their most popular items. I stuck with the tonkatsu ramen, which was rich and very standard with all the classic toppings. They accidentally got my order wrong, but I still devoured it! We also got the chicken karaage, which came with three crispy pieces. I definitely would try their takoyaki next time to pair my ramen. read more
