Sorry Milano. I gave you a chance, but you misled me with your colorful and glossy flier on my doorstep. The pizza on the flier looked delicious. Big, fluffy crust, very different than the deflated crunchy crusted pie that arrived at my doorstep. I thought it would be closer to a Mom and Pop pizza joint like in the NE, but instead I got a Gattis or Pizza Hut without the sale prices. Taste: Not gross, but very similar to a frozen pizza from HEB. delivery time: a little over an hour after i called to order. I'm rather surprised by the high reviews, perhaps we just got food on an off night but it was not good. Our order was simple--ordered garlic bread and an XL pizza. The garlic bread wasn't ready when I arrived so I got to watch how it was "made." They sliced in half a small loaf of store bought bread, slathered some nasty spread on it and toasted it. The spread was oil and herb not garlic and it was gross. Waste of money. The pizza was ok, nothing special, nothing I would drive out of my way for again. The owner wasn't even apologetic about the bread not being ready and just took out his frustration on his employees. I could hear and see him berating them for not having the bread ready. A customer service orientated shop would not have charged me for the garlic bread. read more

The best part about moving to the South Side is living next door to this place! My boyfriend and I have ordered from here twice and they never disappoint! Their pizzas are huge with an abundance of fresh veggies. Their calzones are pretty awesome too! Theyre open til 12 on the weekends which was awesome when my flight arrived at 11:15pm. We called at 11:40 hoping they would still deliver and yep, they were here at 12:06! Fresh and hot! THeir garlic butter dipping sauce is so good! First time eating here, got delivery. It came pretty fast which is great. I got the chicken parm dinner which comes with pasta and a salad. (Basically a mini version of the garden salad). The salad was fresh, no wilted lettuce. The chicken parm was pretty tasty, no complaints except the potion of chicken was rather small. I'm used to getting a large breast on a dish like this and I think it came with like 4 or 5 pieces of already-sliced breaded chicken. The pasta itself is nothing to call home about and the garlic bread was a little stale.... But overall I got my craving fulfilled and I'm fairly satisfied. This place is no good. I don't care what anyone says, if you use frozen breaded chicken breast and serve people cold marinara sauce, there's a problem there. I Had chicken parm sub and its no good the chicken looks and taste fake. And pizza rolls which are actually not horrible, except for the fact that they give you cold marinara sauce with it. Ok--- so this may be going out on a limb, but I definitely think Milano Pizza is one of my top 3 favorite places to get pizza in Austin (NOT to go eat there... it is more like take-out). The slices are big, the sauce is delicious, the cheese is great, the ingredents are fresh and plentiful, and the crust is perfect - not too thin and not too thick. I don't know about the subs or pasta, but as far as pizza goes you would have to be crazy to order from any pizza chain when this restaurant is probably just as close!! I just ordered here for my first time after receiving a flyer on my door, The calzone was massive and good, the delivery price is 1.50 so that is great as well, i would have gave 5 stars but the wings i got were horrible, they were very little meat, they were very dry in the meat and also dry on the barbeque sauce, there was barely any on there, so that made me want to give 3 stars, but since the calzone and delivery price are good i will give 4 stars since i will return i just wont get the wings, have to try the mozzarella sticks and hope those are better. read more

Milano is the best delivery in South Austin. I will say that East Side Pies and Homeslice may beat Milano in a taste test but not by much. If you need it delivered south of Ben White, Milano can't be beat. Not too expensive. TONS of fresh toppings. Delivery always arrives 15-20 minutes ahead of what the guy on the phone tells me. We have been ordering from Milano's for 4 years. Granted the consistency in the food was hit or miss. More often is was great and kept us coming back. The delivery persons were always great. We have spent hundreds of dollars at Milano's. Tonight was the last time they will get our business. We waited over 2 hours to receive our order. I can understand a business being swamped and behind. But do NOT lie to me when I call about the status at 1 hour and 2 hours and you tell me it has been out with the driver. In addition you were rude and impatient over the phone. The driver was kind and the box was stamped with him picking up the order to deliver just 5 mins before arriving at our door. For all this you offered us a liter of Coke??!! A refund or coupon for a free pizza maybe?? We gave the Coke back and told the driver to tell Milano's they have lost a customer. We have overlooked mistakes with this company in the past without calling to complain but this is the last straw. Good riddance. Called and complained because my chicken was black and burnt I didn't want mushrooms in my chicken alfredo didn't even know that it came with mushrooms he didn't tell me that it came with mushrooms.... when I called to get my food replaced he said he can replace my food if I pay for it.... and I said I'm not going to pay for more food when I already paid for something I didn't order and he said if I don't like it I can order food from some where else it's not going to hurt his feelings. Then he said he wanted the food back before he replaces it or gives me my money back? Really???? Was he going to send it to someone else or what? I've gotten delivery from here many times now. We can finally say there's a solid "sidewalk Italian cafe" in South Austin. Most other Italian foods are very pricey. I decided to order pizza for delivery. I'm located in the middle of nowhere so there aren't many choices for delivery. I was very happy to find out that Milano's delivered to my zip code. The menu looked promising and the prices were fair. The delivery took about 45 minutes which was the same amount of time they estimated. I was very happy with the delivery guy he was friendly and on time. My food arrived hot and I believe they included napkins and parmesan. I ordered my favorite type of pizza pepperoni and artichoke and it was delicious the sauce and cheese came together perfectly. I also got lasagna with bread sticks and salad. The pasta was large enough to share with my mom and we had plenty of leftovers. I would definitely order form them again. read more

I was pleasantly surprised by this place! It's rather expensive but they have a bunch of deals on their site, coupons, etc. I used the one for 3 medium pizzas for $17, which was a great deal (cheaper than Dominos). Unfortunately only got 1 topping per pizza but I don't like my pizza loaded with stuff anyway. The guy on the phone sounded a bit surly but was efficient and I got my pizzas delivered hot in under 25 minutes. They also gave me tons of pepper and cheese packets without me asking for them, which was awesome. Pineapple was delicious, pepperoni was good, jalapeno was ok. It was spicy but I wasn't very fond of the flavor of the cheese mixed with the jalapeno. Crust was pretty good, sort of like French bread (chewy) but with flavor, not like Gatti's flavorless cardboard crust. Overall this place is a better alternative to Dominos or Papa Johns for having pizza delivered (with less grease and less artery clogging), as long as you take advantage of one of their coupons or special offers. UPDATE: Went back a few more times. Their chicken pizza was bleh (dry chicken) but I love their crust, sauce and cheese! Extra cheese pizza, pepperoni and pineapple was amazing. read more

For Austin, this is the best Pizza in town. Crust is light and airy, sauce is delicious and the pricing is very competitive especially with buy an XL Specialty and get a MED 1 topping free (put's me just over $20). I'll put it like this, I'm out of their delivery area, I drive across town for Milano, I've tried many other pizza places in town and this is the only one I love. it's proper pizza, the way pizza is supposed to be. As for service, I've never had an issues, they're always friendly enough for me, also I've ordered here countless times and can only remember one period when the phone was an issue, I figure it was a fluke and has been corrected. Very good pizza at this hole-in-the-wall takeout joint! I found this place when I was searching for pizza restaurants near me that had more diverse options. Milanos stood out as having some unique-sounding pizzas and so I figured I'd give them a try. I was pleasantly surprised to find my that Gourmet Chicken Pizza was delicious! Awesome sauce, great flavor, and "felt" healthier haha. Since then, I've ordered one of pretty much everything they have on the menu. Although the Gourmet Chicken remains one of my favorites, you really can't go wrong with what you get. My office now orders from here for all of our team lunches and I'm still not tired of it. I had Milano's pizza it was really good. It too much cheese or sauce, just the right amount. Much better than any chain pizza place. You can tell that the owner puts time and effort in his recipe. Also on another note my daughter tried the chicken tenders she said they were the best she has ever had, she maybe 7 but she knows bad and great chicken tenders. I did think it was odd that there was sauce inside the calzone, not something I'm used to, but it worked out well because the marinara I got on the side was cold. That must be a Texas thing. As far as environment, it's one step up from a food truck. No where to eat except one outside picnic table. The guys there are more like friends and paid no attention to the fact I had an infant with me and continued their conversation, cuss words and all. If I come back I'll order and pick it up when it's ready or have it delivered but I will not stand there while I was being made again because I don't want my daughter to hear those words.
