I make an annual trip to Niagara Falls, Canada. There are 2 Marriott hotels on Fallsview Blvd. While I always stay in the Fallsview Marriott, I have twice ventured over to the "other" Marriott to dine at Milestones Restaurant. My first experience several years ago was perfection! My visit a few weeks ago was extremely disappointing. It began when we waited almost 10 minutes for a host to come and seat us. Once seated we waited for more than 15 minutes for a server to visit our table. It only occurred after we found another employee and asked them to get our server. The most bizarre part of this experience was that the restaurant was nearly empty. Both my mom and I ordered the Caprese Crispy Chicken Sandwich. My mom had hers with fries and mine was served with a caeser salad. The sandwiches were tasty but the sides were unimpressive. I will say that while the service was awful and the meal was just, ok, the decor is modern and inviting. In spite of that, I'm not sure that we'll be back to Milestones during our next to Niagara Falls. read more

We went here because it was a massive snowstorm when we were visiting. PROS In the hotel we were staying at=not having to worry about the frigid temps outside Amazing service. My husband wanted Steam Whistle and they dont have it but the bar downstairs does...they got it for him! Pretty good food. The spinach and artichoke app was meh. The portabello chicken was good...kind of reminded me of stroganoff sauce. The chicken penne was also pretty good. Great view of the falls...however we didnt experience it because the windows were iced over! $20 off coupon from the hotel BOOTHS! Not a huge fan of Milestones, bit this one was better than ones I've been to before. Despite the slow service and wait times to get a table when they're were open tables just sitting there, we had a good meal. Lobed the Somersby White Sangria! We stayed in the Marriott which is why we chose to dine here, after walking all day in the cod, we didn't want to bother going elsewhere for dinner. Prices were to be expected a bit pricey but not out of the ordinary. Food took forever to come out, probably about a good 30 mins after our appetizer was done. I was almost finished my 2nd drink by the time our food came. Steak was good, cooked to medium like requested. Dessert menu could be better, nothing really caught our eye. Came here for the first time while visiting the falls and everything was amazing. Our waiter was great. They were out of their signature Bellinis which was a bummer but peach blossom was also great. Got spinach & artichoke dip, a huge salad, caprese chicken sandwich, dessert and 4 cocktails all for around $100usd. We have been to Milestones many many times in other cities and have generally enjoyed them. However we didn't have the same experience this time. The service was very slow even though the restaurent wasn't busy. Our appetizers were never brought to us as we only received the main course. When we asked the waitress, she did offer to get the appetizer as well. We declined though as the wait time was long this evening. The restaurent lacks ambiance compared to other Milestones. This is because the restaurent is open on one side to the hotel and the bright hotel lights pollute the ambiance. The food quality was pretty good though and we actually enjoyed our meals, when we got them. The icing on the cake, however, was the PF local tax added to our bill. We asked the waitress to take it out and she did. Being from Ontario, we don't typically see this fee on our receipts. It was explained to us that this is a Promotional Fee and not a mandatory tax. Recommend asking to remove this from your bill if you are not comfortable with paying this. read more

Yes it's pricey and you get prime quality ingredients for your meal. Loved the fish tacos here. I tried the red Asian curry with mixed Asian veggies, it was not so much to like at all though. Their philly cheese steak starter was good though. The place was very clean, the staff were very nice and neat. So as you sit down for your amazing falls view breakfast you find yourself gazing over the dumpsters and garbage bins of the hotel across street... Oh well. The breakfast at a hotel like this should be an opportunity to highlight the restaurant and drive dinner traffic. But no. It is a tower place suites breakfast with an omelette bar that serves up under cooked and burnt omelette done after another. We saw many tables sending plates back with omelette uneaten. Basic omelette making knowledge was lacking but they were polite and genuinely trying. Coffee is undrinkable, sausages cold and greasy with fat congealing in your mouth. Fresh fruit was dumped right from a Sysco food service bag. The heat and serve French toast was tasty and pastries and croissants were soft and crispy the way they should be. The servers were all very nice. If I had paid the $22.95 pp they were charging I would have been angry. Definitely not what you expect from a Marriott property. read more

DO NOT GO! Didn't want to believe other reviews about the ridiculous waiting time but after experienced it first hand. It's totally true. Went there last night, we're seated in a few minutes which was good. But after 20 mins sitting at our table with no staffs paying attention to us. The host walked by and we let her know. 5 mins later we got 2 glasses of water. Sat there for another 10 mins, servers walked by us like we're invisible, we decided to leave. Walked by the host (not the first nice lady), telling her what happened, she didn't even look at us and simply not care. We ended up buying takeout and ate in our room which by the way the view was magnificent. Trust us and other reviews. Only go if you have all day to kill. read more

We went for a nightcap, and the cocktails were horrible. The espresso martini was burnt coffee covered up by too much sugar. The sangria was almost flavorless, which I don't understand how you accomplish. Service was fine, but when we tried to leave, the door at the bottom of the stair was locked. We had to walk back up the stairs like a couple of chumps - there were no signs indicating the door was out of service. When we talked to two of the restaurant staff about it, the literally LAUGHED AT us. The hotel itself was great, but DO NOT go to Milestones. Stay away! Although the location was decent the view of the Niagara Falls from the dining room was not worth mentioning as there was a glare on the windows caused by the interior lighting. The grilled sirloin was ghastly, ordered medium rare which we received but the quality of the meat was sub par and it wasn't even warm. Looked like it had been warmed in a microwave. Told the waiter who was very friendly and exchanged it for the prime rib. Didn't enjoy that either but didn't want to cause a scene. The real surprise was the check at the end. 80 dollars with tip. We could go eat twice at a Longhorn for that money and receive quality food too. The food was above average. The service was good. We had great seats with a view of the falls. The only complaint is that it's expensive - a rustic chicken sandwich and a side salad for $19. They charge 3 different taxes. Not sure what they are (we didn't order alcohol). My husband and I only ordered 2 entree and nothing else, and it turned out to be $60+ after tips. It's just not worth the money. From the reviews I found out many people went there because they got vouchers or because they were staying at the hotel. Otherwise it's not worth going. read more

I'm not usually someone that thinks of Milestones as a 4 star dining experience but with a lot of the other restaurants in the area being overpriced, this location while not cheap by any means provides a good enough dinner experience for a group without being too hard on the wallet. It's found in the mezzanine floor of the taller Marriott building that used to be the Sheraton and we walked in at 9:45pm on a Saturday night and found it to be pretty quiet with a few other groups scattered around inside. There seemed to be a nice view but we were seated far from the window since I was in a group of around 16, staff were very friendly and service was quick. I stay away from high in sugar yet amazing bellini's and they actually have an OK beer selection In terms of food, it's more or less the same as any other milestones and that's not necessarily a bad thing. But like I said, the menu is not cheap, but for a large group this is a great option as it's very removed from the hustle and super tourist-ness of Clifton Hill and Fallsview areas. But at the same time, after dinner you are in for a good walk back if you don't happen to be staying at the Marriott itself. read more

Went there for a birthday dinner since I was staying at the hotel. The restaurant view was nothing to write home about; my room view was spectacular. We had the meatloaf and California burger; very well seasoned. Glass of Merlot was on a $5 special from 9p to close. Ordered the beignets, took forever to get. Disclaimer: This is not my first time at a Milestones. I have been to a few other locations and this experience was worth sharing so here I go! From what I recall, my family and I ordered the following: Calamari Artichoke Dip - Prime Rib (10oz) Butternut Squash Ravioli Moroccan Lamb Chicken Portabello The Butternut Squash was amazing. Certainly the best plates on the table. The Artichoke Dip had to be sent back because it was literally stale. No moisture whatsoever and cold. The second dip that came our way was a completely different dip. Surprised the kitchen would send out anything like that at a tourist traffic location. I ordered a Medium Prime Rib. Instead, I received a well done Prime Rib and I wasn't going to wait for another one. If I didn't need to head back to Toronto on a time crunch, I would have sent it back but that wasn't really an option considering I had to be in Toronto in a few hours and didn't factor in the delays that were taking place at Milestones because after all, it's Milestones. You usually know what you're going to get but here, every dish was a little Kinder Surprise. I can't nor do I want to comment on the other dishes because I didn't taste them. I just know that everything was plated pretty poorly (excluding the Calamari + Butternut Squash). In addition to all of the tourist at the Fallsview location, it seemed like the staff (including management) were also tourist. Everyone seemed a little disoriented and lost. However, our server was a sweetheart and did her best to handle the kitchen's issues. Spending 266.00 (including gratuity + taxes) isn't absurd for a decent meal for 5 but this certainly was not worth it. The server was kind enough to knock off $20.00 off our bill and I did appreciate that but at the end of the day, I'd rather have a decent meal than save $20.00 Wouldn't you? read more

Hmmm... I don't have a lot to say about this place. Actually I don't have anything good to say. I usually like Milestonees Grill. I will never so to this restaurant at this location ever again. We went there for dinner.. Actually we tried... It was about 8 pm and we were very hungry. We had an other couple with the baby with us and staff would not give us a table making any possible accuse. They said that they were packed even though we cld see that half of the restaurant was empty. They said that they don't want to overload a kitchen. I have never heard such a lame excuse.... Finally, they said we can wait but it could be an hour... Half empty restaurant after 8 pm ... Is that because we had a baby in our group? I don't know.... Do not recommend! read more

We've never been to Milestone restaurant but decided to try because we stayed at the Marriott and it was snowing/raining outside. It was not a busy night so our service was excellent the waiter made sure our needs were met. Even know the restaurant was located near the fall but the view is only mediocre at best. We didn't have high expectations on the food but we were surprised how good the food came out. The pesto chicken penne was the best we ever had! It's creamy but not heavy on the taste unlike other creamy pasta dishes. The stacked burger was decent because we never had prime rib in a burger before. Although I couldn't taste the horseradish sauce in it but the ketchup did the trick. Plus a pint of barking squirrel beer we ended up with an excellent dinner experience! Overall food is a little pricey but expected in the tourist region. Would definitely go back again if we're in the area. read more

When we arrived to the restaurant the hostess was gone for a long time trying to find menus when the restaurant was not busy. Once we were seated, our server was no where to be found and they were not sure who our server would be. When our server, Tanita, finally arrived she appeared to be very rushed and in a hurry. The only times she checked on us was when we were finished and ready for the check. The food we ordered was prepared well and arrived quickly. The drinks were great, but we were only able to order one since it took so long for our server to wait on us. We made the mistake of asking for a dessert menu because we proceeded to sit again for a long time. I would recommend trying someplace else. read more

My companion and myself went to Niagara for the weekend. We got there later in the evening and we looking for somewhere to eat. We ended up settling on Milestones (which was in our hotel). I've eaten at a few Milestones in different provinces across Canada and never have I received such terrible service. Upon our arrival at the restaurant, the hostess told us to "wait a moment" and she would seat us. Ten to fifteen minutes went by and finally a second hostess came by. We asked her where her colleague was and she said she didn't know but she would seat us. Another ten minutes went by and while we waited we could see a group of servers standing gossiping. We waited at least twenty minutes just to be seated. Side note: I would have understood if it was busy but the place was practically empty that evening except for one section at the back. Once we finally got seated we waited another ten to fifteen minutes. We finally had to ask one of the servers if she could serve us as no one had come to even take our drink order. She explained to us that it wasn't her section but she would go grab the person responsible for our section. The same server ended up serving us due to the fact that the other server was "too busy" or some other excuse. The woman that ended up serving us was very lovely and accommodating. The food was good, it is Milestones after all, but unfortunately having such terrible service in the beginning left a bad taste in my mouth. I definitely do not recommend this restaurant. If you are staying in the Mariott I suggest walking over to the other Mariott across the street and go to their grill, Terrapin. It was definitely more upscale. I don't like chain restaurants and wouldn't have tried this one but i had to have a taste of the featured Top Chef menu items since i did enjoy the show in a kinda after school special way. It was a Tuesday night around 8pm although Niagara Falls was busy with people and the hotel at full capacity (front desk let us know that when i tried to upgrade even for $$) the restaurant was rather empty. We proceeded to sit at the bar area. There is a beautiful view of the falls from here and no matter the tackiness of the NF the falls themselves never ceases to amaze. The order: Bellini night: comes out of a slushie machine and served with a side shot of White Grape Vodka....they are yummy and $3.99 on tues. 10 out of 10 Calamari Steak Strips served with spicy andouille sausage ragu: not sure why steak is mentioned in this menu item, basically fried calamari (thought it would be grilled) with a salsa dip. 2 out of 10 Pork Croquettes courtesy of an inspiration from Top Chef Canada: what they really tasted like was deep fried overcooked dried out meatballs sitting on top of a greasy frozen onion ring, dipping sauce mayo with hot sauce. Please Please tell me that on Top Chef this wasn't what they tasted and loved because they were terrible. 0 out of 10 Asian Lettuce Wraps: Now this could be a good dish. Marinated Chicken Breast in ginger and Hoisin Sauce good flavour just not enough for the amount of Bib Lettuce to wrap it up in. Says in comes with fried Shanghai noodles AKA: those package pretzel like chinese things that come with take-out or delivery for your won ton soup. I can see the potential but severely lacking. 3 out of 10 Our Server/Bartender forgot his name because when we asked he gave us the wrong one than joked that his name was something else...never the less did his job to get tip. When management is doing research for new dishes and tasting they really need to be more astute on tastebuds. For the price you are charging most people that can afford Milestones have ate good/great food. Step it up, people have more discerning taste these days and won't pay for mediocrity. $89 + 15 tip. one star for view, one star for bellini. read more

We ate here for dinner to watch fireworks on the falls. Which I didn't see much because of the reflection from lights in the restaurant so that was kind of a bummer. Stayed at the Marriott over the Easter weekend and didn't know where to go for lunch so we decided to eat at Milestones located in our hotel. They were offering the Easter Brunch but wanted to order a la carte. They seated us by the Easter Brunch buffet section and couldn't resist the food. It was beautifully displayed and looked so good. It's between a 3 and a 4 star. We were in for a week long convention, and this is probably the best food we had all week in Niagara Falls. It's a bit on the pricey side, but we had discounts with the hotel. The setting was pretty upscale, the food more hit than miss I don't know what I was thinking with the $22 Asian Steak Salad? I was very satisfied with this place. We ordered these breaded goat cheese balls which were essentially like awesome tasting round cheese sticks. He had the chicken with mushrooms and I had the salmon. Not as to die for but still flavorful and tasty. I ended with a chocolate s'more mint martini which may have been smaller than a normal fru fru martini but so delicious I didn't want to share. The house wines were also not bad. Our waiter was nice and smiled at us often. It took awhile to get attention but when we did it was regular enough and just right. We are also around on an off season day and mid week but we had a fine dining experience. We were staying in Marriott so figured we'd just eat there for breakfast and save a walk. This review is for their breakfast buffet. The cost for 2 adults and 2 kids are $82. Pretty expensive considering their buffet offering is comparable to a Hampton Inn...and typically for Hampton Inn this type of meal is inclusive. The best part about this place is the view. You are looking at the fall as you eat. If you have money and want convenience, then this place is ok. I would only spend this kind of money when I am on vaca (and don't know any better). Under normal circumstances this would be a place I would not repeat. read more
