Finished construction on our hose with over 50 new windows. right after decided to have our windows cleaned and quickly learned that close to half of the screens were not cut right. After contacting them directly they claimed they were out of warranty and they could not help us. We have purchased our house directly from a builder after being on a market for some time. All windows in the house were manufactured by Milgard. Have to replace about 1/3 of all windows due to seals started leaking after about five years. Developed another seal leak two years ago. This was done with Milgard honoring lifetime window warranty. This year we have found another two windows having a poor seal. Now Milgard will not even honor the warranty and claims since we are not the original owners they cannot replace the windows. They claim the builder is the original owner and as such the warranty has been voided. It is time to look for better qualify windows. read more

He said one of the replacements was the wrong size however and he would order another to finish the job and I would hear back from scheduling by Friday. We had new double pane windows installed 6 years ago and had 4 windows replaced due to failed double pane seal a couple of years ago, and another 5 windows replaced recently. The warranty service has been excellent, easy to file, and prompt response. The local firm doing the replacements did a great job and the windows again look pristine. It is not great that the windows failed after such a short period of time, exposed to the harsh sun exposure in Hawaii, but the warranty service is great. read more

I am writing to express my frustration with Milgard's handling of a product defect issue that I have encountered. I purchased my home 8 years ago, and approximately two years later, I began experiencing significant issues with the resin in the windows, which has now failed in every window throughout my home. When I contacted Milgard to request a resolution, I was informed that, as I am not the original owner, I do not qualify for replacement, despite the fact that Milgard has acknowledged that the failure was due to a defect in their product. This response was due to a defect in their product. This response was not only disappointing but also unfair. Since then, I have spoken with my neighbor, the original homeowner and I advised them to file a claim with Milgard. After six months of waiting, Milgard agreed to replace every window in her home. Given that many homes in my community, over 100 in total in just this community are equipped with the same windows from Milgard, I feel it is important that other homeowners are made aware of this issue. I will be proactively reaching out to my neighbors, encouraging them to file their own claims with Milgard, as they too may be facing similar problems. It is my belief that Milgard should take responsibility for the failure of their product, and I urge the company to reconsider its stance on customer service and product accountability. No homeowner should have to deal with a defective product without recourse, especially when the company acknowledges the failure of its own materials. I am a single mother and a proud veteran, and this is my family's first home. Unfortunately, the situation we are currently facing has been extremely challenging. As a middle-class earner, I do not have the financial means to replace all of the windows in my home. This issue has been a significant source of stress for my children and me. I don't trust Milgard but I will do everything possible to get the word out to my neighborhood and I will assist them with taking the necessary steps to address this issue so that milgard do not get away with this and fulfill its obligations to affected customers. I am providing this rating experience based on their repair service and not the quality of the product. Although my window cracked within two years, they did offer to replace. They initially took a month to make the repair appointment, and last minute cancelled the , appointment since the window was not ready. They told me it would take another 45 days and set the second appointment. I confirmed the new date. A couple of days prior, I did not hear from them to confirm. We purchased Milgard over other options because we thought they were high-end quality and company, but that has not been our experience. I've had 2 of my windows glass crack unexpectedly (2 different occasions) but replaced without issues. It does take almost 6 wks for warranty glass replacement but once they arrive it's takes the technician about 15-20 mins. The warranty website is a hassle which I would recommend improving. Once you submit online Milguard will email you but seem to close out your original claim. Overall thankful that the windows have warranty or I would be paying often to fix cracked glass. I'm not sure why the glass is prone to cracking/ breaking maybe a manufacturer issue but either way Milguard replaces. Technicians are clean and respectful which is always great. read more

What could improve? Their so called Lifetime Warranty for one thing. They first make it very difficult for the customers to get someone to come out even if you have paper receipts. No, they want you to match up a number that is typed on a piece of paper that by this time is weathered and you can hardly see the numbers. Then they want you to follow these instructions: #1 Measure Daylight opening. They need this info for each product you are reporting for service. Once they receive this information, they will schedule you for an appropriate visit. At this point, I feel like this is the manufacturers problem. They should be out here measuring and taking pictures of a window not me. Why am I doing all this? I'm saving them time and money and they know it. So this is what I have to go through first. So I did that. I gave them their information. I was booked for three weeks out. Finally, the guy came to look at the windows and said there was nothing wrong with them. And left, well now it's 2026 and I am going to complain again because I have more fogged windows, Three to be exact, fogged windows now and the other ones are just so unclear that you can hardly see out of them. i've had my windows as a new build install in 2005. I've had a few replaced a year and a half ago and that went smooth. The warranty worked great the installer was wonderful fast prompt knew what he was doing. I just had 11 windows replaced that were anlso of the original build , installer was quick ,prompt, treated my home and my area. Well, the only problem they had was. I have a steep slope on the side of my house with large boulders and they were not prepared for that type of terrain for a ladder that would work on such a slope they had to have a ladder brought to that had adjustable legs so that should be a question in the email about terrain so that the installers would be equipped for that type of situation. It did cost some time as they had to wait for the delivery of another ladder that worked on that type of terrain other than that it was great . The windows have done well for 21 years. read more

I have lived in my house for 40 years I had my sliding glass doors replaced with Milgard doors through design windows and doors now when it rains I get a puddle of water in my dining room I called Milgard they blame the installation I called the installer and they said it might be a manufactured problem and they would send someone to do a water test and they would get back to me waiting to see if it happens read more

I've had my Milgard windows for many years. Some of the seals were blown, and some of the slides allowing them to move were not working quite right. When calling Milgard they confirmed the lifetime warranty on my windows and said they would come out and replace them. They came out twice, once with a picture window which they replaced; no problems, then they had to come out a second time to bring new windows they said were not made correctly when they came out the first time. The second set fit and were replaced, but the slide mechanisms for raising and lowering the windows don't work correctly on the two windows that were replaced. It took nearly 2 months to get someone out for the first call, then another 5 or 6 weeks to get service the second time. Way too long! Especially since the slides are not working properly. I'm in my 70's and believe its likely that I may not be alive if I have to wait till Milgard gets things correct. I did like the service technician (Jose). Milgard sent out a tech, Marco, to repair a defect in the vinyl frame. It only took a few minutes with a heat gun, simple fix. He also explained the rattle in the window above the front door is due to the internal grid design between the double glass. So if you are installing a window above a door, avoid the internal grid design. We'll have to replace the glass grid with a plain design to get rid of the rattle. We are still waiting for our replacement dining room picture window which was missing the inner frame that held in the glass. Dealing with Milgard directly is definitely the way to go since Lowe's has pretty much washed their hands of us once the initial installation was completed. Milgard offers a great product & warranty. Avoid the middleman & deal directly with them. But be prepared orders take a long time these days. It's been seven months. read more

After months of planning and then delays, they delivered two unmatching sets of windows they claim match (they are so off, the installers flagged the problem before they finished opening the box). The Milgard Window's service out of Temecula, CA is awful. I have been trying to service my peeling windows under warranty since 1/11/24. My case numbers get closed out before the windows are painted, which starts the process all over again: about a two month wait for Milgard to physically assess the windows and at least two additional months for a vendor to come out for the repairs and paint.
