I got the vegetarian fried saimin with tofu and eggplant. I was told there is no meat on the fried saimin because meat is considered a garnish. I ordered takeout and the gentleman on the phone was patient and answered my questions. Pickup was quick. The plates were sustainable, made of paper and separated by a piece of cardboard to reinforce the weight of the plates stacked up one on top of the other. My meal had a nice texture and flavor. I ordered two orange chicken plates for my nephews. They ate it up, but not the white onion and bell pepper with their meal. The Mac salad comes in a tiny condiment container outside of your meal. When I come to visit I would order from here again. You get a lot of food! read more

Very underwhelming. I do not go to Mililani restaurant very often, for reasons that occurred today. It seems that every time I go, the menu gets smaller, the quality gets worse, and the prices get higher. Today will probably be my last. All of my go-tos are no longer on the menu, I originally went there for the beef macaroni, was charged for it, but was told later that they no longer sell it. So we switched to spaghetti, which would be fine, but it was for my son who is disabled and has an easier time with the macaroni than noodles. We also ordered the Portuguese sausage fried rice and the rice was very mushy. The plates were very soggy by the time we got home, because of the steam and closed bag. I get that the plates need to be compostable due to laws, but for the amount we are paying, there are other local businesses that have better quality to-go plates with better prices. Never disappointing, they are known for their noodles here which is always recognizable simply by the taste of it at a potluck party. A co-worker was in Mililani so he picked up lunch for us from a highly regarded restaurant that's been in business for many years. We were told they have one of the, if not the best fried noodles on Oahu. With that in mind, three of us ordered a lunch plate with the fried noodles instead of rice for an additional $2.50. I ordered the Korean chicken and what I got was an unappetizing mess of a plate. The fried noodles was just fried noodles ... there were scant slivers of carrot and what I think was cabbage ... no egg, no meat of any kind, no green onions. To make matters worse, the Korean chicken was so overcooked that it was almost inedible; it was dry and very tough. The sauce was at the bottom of the plate; what little there was tasted good; there just wasn't enough of it. Call me entirely disappointed! read more

The fish and chips are really good here and every time I get the fish its flakey and tastes clean not fishy at all. The batter outside is light and not thick like some places. It rivals the fish and chips I'd order on the coast. It's so much food, I always get the full order and save the other piece to throw on a hamburger bun to make a fish sandwich for dinner. Their tartar sauce is really good here too and made in house along with the side of coleslaw. My husband got the pork katsu, and last time we got it the pork was kind of stringy like it was old and or dropped in the heat a second time, but this order turned out great. Hubby chose this place to eat because he loves fried saimin but sadly everything we got today was so bad. The fried saimin had no garnish like egg/spam/ham etc. - just a heap of oily noodles with no seasoning thus no taste. We got a chicken katsu with fried saimin which had thin slices of egg and luncheon meat over the top. SO good. Everyone in my family loved it! We've been coming here for years! I'm surprised this is my first review... The wife was in the area and I didn't know what I wanted so I ordered the trio. Didn't know what to expect as I've never had it before. Opened the plate to a mountain of food! The plate consisted of mochiko chicken (two thighs), teri beef, and a huge piece of tempura fish! Lots of food! The mochiko chicken was different than the traditional Hawaii version, but it was good. The Teri beef, while a little tough wasn't bad, and the tempura fish was probably my favorite. Overall a great value for what you get and it's always good to support these small local businesses! If you've never been here a great starter dish is their fresh fried noodles. We've been on the hunt for the best fried saimin on island and this has place has got to be a contender! We also tried their teriyaki meatballs which came with a lot of pieces in that plate lunch. The best part are the people that work here. They really make you feel appreciated and at home. While we were waiting for our order to be ready, we had a conversation with the cashier about The Little Mermaid and how we couldn't believe that it came out over 30 years ago. Small little things like that, really make the experience memorable, even if we were just waiting for our take-out food. First time here to try the fried Saimin. I had ordered with the smoke pork. The taste was decent and the servings were good. The only thing that was missing was the kamaboko which was okay. I am a big fan of kamaboko in fried Saimin. The only down fall so far was the take out cartons. They use the cheap cartons that soaks up the gravy and is not very sturdy for take out orders. It's too early to give them more than a three star ratings. The reason is that I have not tried other dishes. The prices are reasonable but others might find it a little expensive. The service is great and the dining area is clean and lots of room to dine in. They have lots of local favorites. read more

I remember coming to the Mililani Restaurant in the 80's and the plates were loaded. You couldn't eat more than half your meal. Then I came back some years ago and thought the food was OK but they still give you a lot. And now, me and my wife were in the area so we stopped by to order take out. We ordered a Teri beef sandwich, a hamburger deluxe, fries and a soda. When I got home and opened my burger I saw a large patty but very little mayo and no other condiment. The meat tasted like it had a lot of filler and it was kind of bland. Worst part was that the bun was stale, ruined it for me. My wife's Teri beef sandwich was tasty but the bun was also stale. The fries were the best part of lunch. They were coated with something and stayed hot and crispy for a long time. I will come back and try their plates again. read more

Always been go to place. Their customer service since we ate there in the 90s was the best. Sadly there customer service now with the younger employees suck now. I witnessed my mom who is old call them and ask about her order. The boy tells her if you did t get a confirmation than I guess you didn't order anything. She asked him if he could look it up for her and he again tells her we are busy and if you didn't get a confirmation than guess you don't have an order with us.
