    Scrambled Eggs on Brioche
    Dana L.

I keep coming back for the scrambled eggs on brioche. It hits the spot every time. A little pricey when you add a side of bacon and an oat milk latte but totally worth it.

The waffle (single) was dry and flavorless. Even with the toppings. Note the plate to waffle ratio...

A friend and I cruised the area looking for a breakfast spot and decided upon Milk Bar. I ordered the Belgian waffle and he ordered the smoked salmon and poached egg on toast. Big mistake. The waffle was dry, flavorless and didn't taste fresh. I'm thinking it was rescued from the glass container on the counter, warmed in a microwave and who knows when it was cooked. I took one bite and was done. Plus it was just one...and very small. If it had tasted good, it wouldn't have been enough. Really, how hard is it to make waffles fresh and adult sized? According to my friend, the salmon on the salmon toast was just ok but the egg didn't have any flavor. He also said the bread was dry and hard. He finished it, but we ended up walking over to the local pizza shop for a pie for lunch, as we were still really hungry. Now THAT was a good choice - thanks Brooklyn's Home Slice for saving the day. Customer service was also listless. No one came over to ask if we wanted anything else or inquire as to the lonely, untouched waffle all alone at the end of the table. Didn't bother sending it back...you know why... So, I would not recommend or revisit this spot. There are too many other choices in the area to try this one again.

Cute spot for breakfast. I judge a place like this not just for the food but the COFFEE. and this place must definitely had Delicious strong iced coffee! Notable items dishes for us were the sauteed mushroom toast and the Belgian waffle! Not just a Belgian like waffle by name but an actual Belgian waffle with the sugar beads laced all throughout the waffle, topped with a delicious juicy mix of berries and creamy dollop of mascarpone. It was truly a bit of heaven on a plate. The sauteed mushroom toast topped with a runny poached egg was packed with flavor! Space is small so not the best for large groups wanting to do a group thing but it's a great spot for families with kids or for solo dining as well.

A trusted neighborhood gem, milk bar is a delicious Prospect Heights staple. I am in love with their iced lattes. I usually ask for almond milk and cinnamon powder mixed in. The baristas are friendly and execute my drink perfectly. I had originally only been coming for coffee, but when I actually looked at the menu, I knew I was missing out. The biscuit egg sandwich is BANGIN, you hear me? BANGIN. I sacrificed my aversion to whole eggs ( usually make me nauseous) and I took a bite of my friend's and I had to get my own. The avocado toast is solid. The arugula salad is well dressed and tasty. I've come here on a couple of occasions and also gobbled up their quinoa salad (dressing on the side) and it's certainly satisfying. So next time you are on the block, give the bagel shop across the street a break and give this place a try.

Came here for a chai latte and the place is nice and quaint. Small kitchen, 4 bar seating, 3 casual seats without a table, 1 lArge table, and then 4 more tables. Then outdoors there's 3 more. So lots of options for you to hang out. They take cash / venmo so be ready as needed. Service is good but they seemed really busy when i visited at 1pm sunday. I'd totally come again to give the food options a try

Great neighborhood spot for breakfast or brunch! Their menu is not very extensive and is mostly made up of eggs done different ways, avocado and toast. Each dish is done very well. They also have a great selection of pastries and coffee drinks. I was pregnant when I came for brunch so could not have runny eggs. They had a great tuna melt option with salad that was filling and delicious. It is a tight space so seating can be limited and you may be sharing a big table with strangers. There is seating up some stairs as well and it can feel a bit cramped but it is cozy in cold weather. During not busy hours, it can be a great place to sip a coffee and get some work done. They have a bench outside which is great for people watching.

My boyfriend and I like to come here for a quick breakfast on weekends. My favorite breakfast food here is the toasted cheddar chive biscuit with Swiss cheese, 2 scrambled eggs, and spicy aioli. You could also add bacon/salmon/avocado. The biscuit is fluffy and the scrambled eggs are creamy. It's the perfect sized breakfast! I also got the mocha for an indulgent morning coffee. Wouldn't advise coming here to work remotely during the weekday - it gets pretty loud. Also wouldn't advise sitting at the counter tables by the window on a sunny day - it's too hot. But for good breakfast and good conversation, come early and get a table.

Had a great "weekday brunch" here this afternoon Small, quaint atmosphere. Friendly service. There was only one waitress but she managed a full house very well. The iced coffee with chilled espresso over vanilla ice cream is also a hit. They had Australian coffee. I found the flat white to be strong but very s Yes for the full eggs with avocado. Eggs were poached nicely on a generous portions of avocado, ham and slices of gruyere cheese on top of sourdough bread. sooooooooo perfect! Got a full portion instead of half and man it was a lot. Ended up taking the other half home. My husband had the egg, bacon with cheddar biscuit. He liked the crispy, nicely seasoned bacon and found the bread was rich and buttery. One of my favorite brunches this year. Prices were reasonable. Cash only

Bring cash! Great, smooth coffee, and biscuit sandwich was filling, and perfectly spicy. Sit by the window, and watch the world go by. :)

We finally made it for brunch and we weren't disappointed…read more The atmosphere is friendly and reminds me of a modern day diner and all the pastries in the window by the counter makes it feel even more special. My wife had egg white and spinach omlette and I had an egg salad sandwich with tomato on brioche bread with side of macaroni salad, The portions and price were reasonable and we will be sure to come back and try their famous pancakes !

A waiter arrived with slices of bread. I asked if it was toasted and he replied: Oh, you wanted it toasted? I told him I did. The toast only arrived a long time later when I asked about it. I was almost done with my meal. It was cold and had obviously been sitting on a counter somewhere. After our meal, a waitress came by with the bill on an electronic device. My 85-year-old brother signed the device without looking closely. He went to buy cookies at the counter and was told the bill was still open and had not been paid. It turns out that the waitress had presented him with another table's bill - $20 higher than our bill was. So mediocre food AND incompetent and disinterested staff. I will not go back.
