The staff is always friendly and efficient. Poppy's have many interesting local items for purchase (frozen and refrigerated) along with their regular food menu items. I'm not a huge fan of their cookies or brownies, but I do appreciate their seasonal pastries and especially their danishes and scones. I appreciate the seasonal change up of the menu and how they use fruits in season to create their pastries. Over the summer I really enjoyed their fig and cheesecake danishes. I don't find many bakeries baking with fig so this was a sweet surprise and they delivered! Their menu switch up each season keeps me intrigued. Their matcha is decent and usually my go to. However, I am not a fan of the soups. They tend to taste bland. However, if you're in the area it's still worth visiting. There is very limited seating.

Made a quick stop to grab a pastry and landed on a pumpkin cake slice with cream cheese frosting. Loved that it wasn't too sweet and that the cake was very moist with forward pumpkin cinnamon flavor. Beautiful presentation as well. There are a ton of options ranging from cookies, biscuits, loafs, and drinks. I believe there's packaged food as well and would definitely come back. Note that there's nowhere to sit inside really, but there are benches outside.

I pass by this cute little bakery everyday on my walk and it's always super busy with people hanging in their outdoor tables chatting or working. I finally came to try it out and had the Matcha Latte ($6). My drink was ready within minutes, so that was nice. Unfortunately, the matcha was a bit bland. It's not bad, but nothing amazing. Plus, I tried some of the cornbread from my friend and it was lackluster and crumbly. Maybe it was because it was towards the evening and the pastries are now cold, but what a shame that they can't heat it up for you either. They also offer some packaged salads, soups, and such but it is very pricey. Now I can stop wondering about this spot every time I pass by --not worth the money.

Sadly a let down, didn't have certain items at 9am, and frittata was a bit water-logged, overcooked and had a rubbery outside. Too bad because things look enticing. Would enjoy trying the biscuit if I pass by again but wouldn't go out of the way to visit.

One place Manhattan can't take from Brooklyn is Poppy's. One of my favorite cafes in all of New York. They have a great selection of seasonal baked goods and pastries, full food & drink menu including seasonal flavors and ingredients, and a grab & go refrigerated section with lots to offer. The baristas hear are so kind and patient. Truly your favorite "neighborhood cafe with another location in Cobble Hill!

In an ideal world, I would be taller, smarter, better-looking, and own a brownstone in Carroll Gardens. I'd have enough time and money to sit in the sunshine outside Poppy's and eat delicious pastries and/or sandwiches every day. I'd read if alone, and converse about non-work-related things if not, sipping on excellent beverages they provide, and not taking care of my kids (in this world, they take care of themselves). This may not be an ideal world, but it's not so bad. I still get to occasionally sit in the sunshine outside Poppy's, eat and drink what they have on offer, and enjoy this perfect little cafe. Everything is pretty great thus far, but in particular: The sea salt sprinkled chocolate chip cookie is one of the best you can find anywhere ($5, but actually worth it). The comically tall biscuit sandwich is tough to get your mouth around with the thick, fluffy biscuit, crispy prosciutto, white cheddar, greens, and hot honey...but it's so very, very tasty. And they have an adorable selection of products they make, or curate, including chili crisp and chili oil and snacks labeled "Poppy's" that I can get and give to one of my favorite nieces, whose name is Poppy. And then I can eat it all when I go to her parents' house, because she's three years old and definitely doesn't need chili crisp.

I visited Poppy's for the first time this weekend. One of my good friends lives in Cobble Hill around the corner and always talks about how amazing their breakfast biscuits are. We waited in line for about 10 minutes because they only allow four people inside the bakery at once. We ordered a couple of iced lattes, one bacon jam breakfast biscuit, and the brioche setup with spicy tomato (but in a biscuit). We sat outside at one of their covered outdoor picnic tables, and it was a really nice ambiance! Would definitely recommend eating there if you're interested in outdoor dining for a quick / casual moment. The bacon jam was the clear winner between the two. It came with lettuce on it, but I think it could've used some lighter greens. The biscuit itself was perfection - flakey, fluffy, and a lot of height. The iced lattes were also delish! Will for sure be back to Poppy's for more biscuits and pastries from their weekly selection.

The space is relatively small, with a line inside and outside and a few tables outside. The length of the line and wait time varies based on the time of day and if you go on a weekday vs weekend. Go early if you don't want them to sell out of anything or purposely go a little later if you want one of their lunch sandwiches on focaccia. I have had the tomato and garlic focaccia twice now and each time it has been exceptional. Minor critique, the slices of garlic could be a bit smaller. I also had the shakshuka focaccia which is divine and I would absolutely recommend both. I need to come back to try their sandwiches as well. I am not a sweets person, but everyone I know loves their pastries. Getting someone a gif tcard here makes for a great gift.

I'm usually more of a savory girlie but all the sweet items we tried were great, especially the rhubarb croissant and the earl grey morning bun. I really enjoyed the focaccia sandwiches (smoked salmon and pea/mint/feta were elite) and the artichoke green garlic slice. The flavor of the sesame stirato was excellent but the bread itself was a tad too chewy for the filling we got with it (tuna salad), so that style probably works better with the jambon beurre. Will definitely be on the rotation whenever I'm in the city -- would love to try some of their seasonal/limited edition items one day, though not sure if I have it in me to brave the lines that can form on the weekends, lol! We'll see :)

Radio Bakery... is perfection. I completely understand the line…read more I first ordered the heirloom tomato & feta sandwich, which was unbelievable. It is so clear that they use incredibly high-quality ingredients and carefully curate each component, which is exactly why everything comes together in such an elevated way. The tomatoes reminded me of the ones I grew in my garden during California summers as a teenager. Perfectly salted, layered over soft, not-too-tart feta. The focaccia was made with beautiful olive oil and, while a bit chewier than I usually prefer, gave the sandwich a satisfying bite. I had to close my eyes while eating it just to savor it. The chocolate cherry almond croissant... wow. Such a creative combination, and it did not disappoint. Soft, buttery, and filled with a sour cherry compote that reminded me of a cherry cordial from a box of chocolates. 5/5. Hainsley, who helped me, was exceptionally lovely. Everyone even in line was very nice, the vibes were awesome. I'll definitely be back to try the spicy tofu sandwich and the heirloom tomato tart!

While they didn't have their full selection available, there were still plenty of pastries to choose from. We ended up getting the vanilla kouign amann and the chocolate PB&J croissant. The kouign amann was flaky, buttery, and beautifully caramelized. The chocolate PB&J croissant was easily our favorite. It was filled with rich, decadent chocolate and a layer of jelly that balanced everything out without making it overly sweet. My significant other hasn't stopped talking about it since! We're already looking forward to coming back to try more.
