Closed when I arrived for emergency services. Piss poor.
JustBCuz I.

Came in because closest place I could find where it stated emergency dental services. Hours posted 8-5. It's a Friday. Pulled on the entrance door and was locked. Called the office number they have and someone answered. I said I think I may be using the wrong entrance. She reiterated the office hours and said that they were in meetings, and asked if there was anything she could help me with. I said well your site states you guys are open and provide emergency services and I have a really bad toothache. She said that they are in meetings all day and won't be back until Monday. My suggestion- post a flippin' sign or something. No cars in parking lot and no souls on site. False information on your website has caused me more aggravation on top of a tooth ache. Bad business. Period.

I would strongly recommend staying away from Alexander Dental…read more I recently went to Alexander Dental for a treatment plan that totaled approximately $5,000. I still have outstanding work that needs to be completed, including a cleaning and crown replacement, and now one of the teeth they worked on is causing severe pain. At my initial appointment, they collected payment and told me they could complete all of the planned work in a single visit. Although I was surprised, I agreed. After completing work on two teeth, they instructed me to take a one-hour break. The break wasn't long enough to go home, and I couldn't eat because of the dental work, so I waited in my car. When I returned, they numbed me again, checked my mouth, and then asked if I could reschedule the rest of the treatment. When I tried to reschedule, they attempted to push the appointment out another two weeks despite the fact that I was already experiencing significant pain. I insisted on being seen sooner and was able to get an appointment the following week. At that appointment, they still weren't able to complete all the fillings as planned. Only part of the work was finished, requiring me to return for a third visit and miss even more work. While I was frustrated, I tried to be understanding. Now I've received an additional invoice for more than $500. When I contacted the office to resolve the issue, I was told that I had said my "card didn't work" and that I would call back. That never happened. What I actually said was that I didn't have any more time to spend waiting in the office because I needed to get back to work, and that they should call me to explain why there was an outstanding balance after they had already collected payment upfront. The billing process was confusing from the beginning. If staff are attempting to collect payment, they should be able to explain account balances and charges instead of requiring patients to wait for a treatment coordinator. They should also ensure that treatment estimates accurately reflect the work being performed and schedule patients appropriately if they cannot complete the procedures as promised. I am not someone who complains without offering solutions. This office could significantly improve the patient experience by implementing a few basic policies and procedures: Confirm before treatment whether all scheduled procedures can realistically be completed during the appointment. Provide explanations whenever treatment plans, timelines, or costs change especially at check in. Train front-desk and checkout staff to explain balances and payment discrepancies before requesting additional payment rather than having to wait for the treatment coordinator post appointment. Establish a policy that patients experiencing pain receive priority scheduling when follow-up treatment is needed, specifically when the dentist reschedules. Conduct a final billing review before collecting large upfront payments to reduce unexpected charges later. After three appointments, missed work, ongoing dental issues, severe pain, and now unexpected additional charges, I am extremely disappointed with my experience. Patients deserve transparency, accurate scheduling, and clear communication regarding both treatment and billing.

He was laughing and smiling the whole appointment and even got to pick a toy out of the treasure chest before we left. The atmosphere is incredibly calm and inviting as well. The people at this dental office were all very friendly and I rarely had to wait long to get in for…read moreteeth cleanings, but my experience with Dr. Machado in getting a replacement bridge was outrageous. I chose to proactively replace my bridge since it was 25 yrs old and there were signs of mild decay underneath. The replacement took Dr. Machado five attempts (you read that correctly- FIVE attempts) until she was able to provide me with a passable replacement bridge. Which translated into many trips to and from her office between July and November. Not surprisingly, it was always the fault of the lab. You might wonder how I could have possibly endured going back so many times. At the time, I was overwhelmed with taking care of a very sick family member and I didn't have the bandwidth to deal with this fiasco on top of everything. I just crossed my fingers and hoped that the next visit would be "the last one." Note that there was no mention of reimbursing me for my time and gas expenditure... until I brought it up. The good news is that I was eventually reimbursed for time & gas at my last visit to the office, after a teeth cleaning, when I explained all this to someone at the front desk. When I presented my teeth-cleaning bill to her, she made an executive decision to take it from me and tell me it was taken care of. I'm sorry that I didn't note the name of this true professional. The worst part of this whole ridiculous experience is that despite all the stress & frustration, I still have a less-than-perfect-fitting bridge. Food gathers under the lingual side of the bridge after each meal. Lovely, right? I recently considered requesting a full reimbursement from Dr. Machado for the entire process so I could take my ill-fitted bridge to another dental office and have it completely redone. However, after reading other reviews, I realized that I would NEVER get my money back from this dental group. Fair, ethical, and capable, they are not.

I was shocked to receive a surprise collection notice for a balance I had no idea was heading to…read morecollections. When I called the office to ask why I never received a final warning, their response was that I had 'opened an email' back in May. That email was not a final notice--it was a generic, automated 'New Statement' that simply said I had 30 days to view my bill online. It contained zero mention of being past due, zero mention of an impending deadline, and absolutely zero mention of debt collection or credit damage. I paid the balance to stop the credit hit, but I was forced to pay an extra collection fee because of their lack of clear communication. When I called back to ask if they would help with that extra fee since I never received a proper warning, they flatly refused and just repeated that I had opened the automated email. Future patients: Do not assume this office will call you, mail you, or explicitly warn you before sending your balance to collections. A generic e-statement is the only heads-up you will get. Check your balance constantly. This experience clearly deserves 1 star.

Avoid using Dr. Marmur, the dentist who bought Dr. Tarantola's practice…read more Dr. Marmur lied to me when he called me to introduce himself. Dr. Tarantola did not require me to get x-rays. Dr. Marmur told me that he did not require x-rays. This morning, the day of my cleaning, his office called me to tell me that I had to have x-rays. Again they lied to me by telling me that x-rays are required by state law. That also is a bold face lie. If you check the statutes, there is NO requirement for the patient to get x-rays. I am sure that you can find a dentist who will be honest with you, even if you like to get x-rays.

Two gave me switch and bait exams and X-rays (quoted on price on the phone and upped the price after the work was done). One caused an abscess in my gum and I had to have an emergency visit to my primary care physician because that dentist would not prescribe a needed antibiotic. Two others were obnoxious. One said I had mouth cancer and sent me back to a surgeon who sent me to him. They didn't know what they were doing. Dr. Tarantola was straight forward. No cancer. It was a saliva gland! The price quoted was the price charged. After one visit with him for a checkup and one cleaning, my mouth, teeth and gums have never been healthier. He is the dentist to see. His hygienist, is the best I have ever had clean my teeth. Do yourself a favor and go to there.
