Today was so weird! I had to get a small surgery and couldn't eat and felt all loopy and starving. The second I got the green light to eat I told my Dad to drive me right up the block from my Dr and straight here. I must have drove past this place hundreds of times and had never gone inside but as a foodie I will tell you right now- the only way to elevate the already perfect Peruvian cuisine- is to eat it while starving lol. They did NOT disappoint. Quarter chicken with rice and beans and a salad on the side (for $5 extra). No maduros. Im not sure if I'm ok with that but they had great sauces. They put a half an avocado on the salad that I had to skip bc of my allergy. And AND the chicken was PERFECT. Rice and beans is easy and they got it RIGHT! I wish they had some fresh juices or something to wash it all down but maybe they will read this and think about it. I didn't see a place to sit down and I parked right out from. This is the third Peruvian place I have tried. I need to stick with Brasas Peru Franklin Square they may be pricey but the food never fails. This place not so good - chicken had no taste at all needs seasonings I was better off getting a chicken at shop and stop. Beans no flavor either. The lomo saltado is my typical Peruvian dish and they did not disappoint! It comes with strips of beef stir-fried with onions, tomatoes over white rice and let me tell you it served as both lunch and dinner for me! Definitely a Roasted Chicken go to Restaurant !! Their Roasted Chicken was super moist & seasoned perfectly with Ken's family secret spice recipe !! Their Green Sauce is on another level definitely one of the best I've ever had ... Also recently had an order of their Jalea and an order of their spaghetti with their Green Sauce another Home Run / super delicious !!! Their sea food in the Jalea was super fresh and their breading / flour was seasoned very well and fried to perfection... topped with that delicious red onion mix with their house vinaigrette was on point !! Loved this dish !! As of last week you can only take out food over here, I hope they open their dining room back up real soon ... The restaurant was very clean, you can actually see over the counter and watch your food being prepared... Their Chefs are very polite & Respectful and handle your food with the upmost respect which I observed with my own two eyes; Yes, I watch everything this is greatly appreciated .... The Counter help, my 1st visit was a very polite & professional young man I believe his name was Kenny answered all my questions had to pause a few times to answer the phones but came right back to me to complete my order; they are pretty fast over here there was at least 7 customers before me & another 5 to 6 waiting to order behind me ... it was lunch time around 12 Noon .. 2nd Visit; thats when I had to try their Jalea and their Green Sauce with Spaghetti !! This time a young lady took my order also very professional & fast ... again my food was delicious and it had to take a 20 minute ride home back to Brooklyn before I ate it ... The jalea was good but next time I would like more of the other seafood & not a huge amount of calamari. It's was cooked good, not rubbery or overcooked. The food is good & esp the green and garlic sauce. The chicken is seasoned good. You def can pop it in an airfryer & be good the next day. I would recommend getting food here. I've had the OG spot on merrick & if you live closer to this location you will be happy. The BEST rotisserie chicken in Elmont! Even my vegetarian family members rave about the smell alone in the car when we get takeout rotisserie chicken and say it's the only time they've considered eating meat again. It is well seasoned and though it's getting pricey, the chicken is consistently good. The place is small but clean and the staff aren't necessarily chatty but not rude. I always miss this chicken when away from Elmont. Haven't ventured into the rest of the menu, but the chicken with rice and beans is my go-to. read more

My family bought the chicken combo and a chicken arroz chaufa. The rotisserie chicken had a completely different taste. Very garlicky, and the green sauce was not as thick or spicy. The portions for fries and salad are smaller, the dressing for the salad was placed in the salad container taking up space, so we got less salad. They are now using the same containers as the Chinese restaurants despite the price increase. Lastly, the chicken was cut in many various pieces instead of the traditional leg/thigh, wings, and breast. I have been going to this restaurant for over 5 years but this was the first time we could not finish the food. It seems like they either changed the recipes, ingredients, or the chef. Either way it was disappointing for the price. I hope that because this restaurant is franchising it doesn't means that the quality goes down. read more

What a lot of people don't seem to realize is that Polla ala brasa is literately Peruvian McDonalds, so don't expect some crazy restaurant quality service. For what it is, It's pretty good and reminds me a lot of the spots in your local town in Lima. Except in Lima, they serve you in a plastic baggy, so this is an upgrade ya'll. Good food but horrible, horrible service!!! We normally call in an order and we hubby goes to pick it up. Not once was our order ever right and it was always the same lady who takes our order. The last time we ordered was our very worst experience. 1. It was 9:20 and I place my order for pick up. I ordered 4 quarter chicken (dark meat only) an order of rice, fried yuca and sweet plantains. My bf calls me back to tell me to add 2 more quarter chickens to the order. I called not even 5 minutes later and spoke to the lady on the phone. I said "hi, I just placed a pick up order for 4 quarter chicken, rice, yuca and plantains. I want to add 2 more quarter chicken to that order. There should be 6 quarter chickens in total. Got it?" She responds with yes, yes, got it. 2. My bf picks up the order and when he arrived home there was only 4 quarter chickens in the bag...not 6. 3. I called back at 9:50 and no one answers. This place closes at 10 so someone should have answered. I call back 2 more times and the woman who took my order finally picked up. I explained to her that there was only 4 chickens in the bag. She told me they were closing. I said "well, you don't close until 10. We live 5 minutes away. Can we drive there now to pick it up? She tells me yes but to give them a few minutes to make it. I told my bf to drive there as soon as I got off the phone. My bf has the need for speed so I know he got there fast. 4. My bf arrives there...the lights were off and the workers were leaving the restaurant. Now my bf is very big and muscular and can look intimidating. He quickly got out his car, made the workers go back in and flip the lights back on. He doesn't like when people play him for a fool. 5. Once back in the restaurant he asks "where is my food?! The lady told me to come pick it up so why are you guys closing and leaving??" The guys that were there had no idea what he was talking about so he tells them to get that woman on the phone (the lady already left). She gives him the run around and he's asking her why did she tell him to drive there and pick it up when she knew damn well they were closing. 6. The workers there also cursed at my bf in Spanish but he understands so he cursed back in spanish to let them know not to talk any crap. Long story short, we got the chicken. Moral of the story, don't tell your customers to come pick up the food when you know damn well you plan on leaving. If my bf came even a minute later than when he got there the place would have been completely closed already. It was her mistake and she tried to play us for a fool! Millenium Chicken is my go-to Peruvian chicken place. We have always picked up food to go home and never stayed to eat in so cannot comment on service/dining room. Millenium is located in an industrial part of Elmont, right across the street from Home Depot. The area can be a little sketchy but I've seen many people come in to eat so I don't think it's a huge problem. We always order on the phone and pick up 20-30 minutes later. We have never had an issue with our order being wrong and I always ask for extra green sauce, which they happily oblige and never charge me for. They have combos which I think are pretty good in value. We usually order a combo with a whole chicken and rice and beans. I will then throw in two side orders of tostones, which comes with a creamy garlic sauce. Their green sauce is also creamier than others and I LOVEEEE it. It goes SO well with the chicken. In fact, I can't stop thinking about it now. Our family of 3 can eat two large meals with one of these orders. We have yet to try the other items but hope to in the future. read more

When I arrived at the restaurant they asked what was my order. I repeated the millennium combo #1 and #2. The lady repeated my order and stated that will be a total of $39.11. I told her their was a mistake because the online menu stated $10.95 each. The girl behind the counter stated that's five years old and the prices are now higher. This place is somewhat underrated. Granted anyone familiar with the restaurant knows that it was far better when there was only a single location. With that said for the money the chicken simply can't be beat. Almost always fresh, crispy skin and moist meat. A well crafted preparation brine process that has been refined over 50 years according to the local lore. But the key to enjoyment is in the salsa picante verde. It's he crown jewel of this place and goes well with just about anything on the menu. I am a big fan of there version of Jalea. This place deserves between 3&4 stars. Pick up meals suck!!!! Whenever you want pick up the orders are so much smaller. The service used to be better. The chicken is the best thing they sell( that's what makes me want to give them an extra star but everything else makes this place a three star place.). The French fries suck, even if you have them to stay they are always soggy. Whenever you want more delicious hot sauce they have which is really just like a dipping sauce because it isn't that spicy, they get mad and tell you it's more.
