If there's an epitome of a jerk/owner (or at least the guy I spoke with), this is it. Perhaps the other positive reviews were handled by another person...or this guy just had a really bad day today. I called to make an appointment and asked for his availability. He said I'm fully booked on Monday but can do it on Thursday. I asked if he has another Monday further out and he said, maybe in a couple weeks. So I asked how long it would take and if I could drop off the car around noon. He said gruffly, how should I know...I won't know until I look at your car and from that point on, the conversation immediately soured. I said that I could drop it off, how about around noon and I'll just hang out while he's doing the diagnostic and as soon as I said that, he said, if you don't drop off your car first thing in the morning, I don't want your business because I don't want to be pressured as he said that in a very condescending tone. I said you don't have to be a jerk about it...and he replied and said, yeah, I'm a jerk alright. Enough said, I wouldn't allow him to work on my car even if it's free. read more

This place is one of the best automotive electric shops I've ever been to. I went there with my El Camino. The guy put a pound of Freon in it and didn't even charge me. I have to go back and pay them for it and he told me that I would need a relay a switch so I bought the relay it worked for a little while on high the fan and then it stopped so I went and bought some, electrical connector cleaner and some electrical grease and I'm gonna try to clean it and grease all my connections and see if that helps and I also have Studebaker. I am unable to give the entire backstory. In short for seven months my 2015 GM Silverado had an engine problem. I have a background with Grandfather and Father having Diesel and Engine shops in the 1950's to 1970's. Although I did not stay in Automotive I love it as a hobby. After at least 100 hours of research on my GM AFM engine, I determined it was beyond my capacity with the lack of tools and skills at this time in my life to attempt a major repair. One wrong setting may cause a catastrophic engine failure and I could not risk it alone. This is not the old-school 1980s 350 engine. I can do those jobs alone. The question was: Who do I trust to do the work? All the old school men and shops I grew up with that that Dad and Grandpa did machine work for have passed on. It was about 30 to 40 years ago. After months of searching. I found Miller Automotive. I saw other shops I interviewed and spent quite some money at but I determined the other shops did not have the experience. Miller was my choice and they did fix my Engine with a major massive repair. But there is so much more. If I go to any dealer and shop, I deal with a sales rep. A nice young sales rep with maybe an automotive vocabulary. But I never see the management or the mechanics. At Miller, you deal with the Owner. I met the mechanics. The crew has the experience I was searching for. I was not dealing with a young sales rep with a limited Automotive background. I was dealing with the Owner-Operator who has a vital responsibility for the quality of work done. The mechanics he hires are not oil change techs from some superstore. Anyone can get an Oil change and Brakes done shops are everywhere and that is the standard of service. But few can do the hard things the guys at Miller can do. When my Job was done, it was done as if I did it myself. Nothing was left out, all needed parts were changed. While my age and my health and skills are outdated for me to tear down and repair this engine myself. It does not mean I do not understand what was involved. I felt helpless because it was out of my hands as a OCD maniac when it comes to my engine. This was a huge issue issue to me, I lost a lot of sleep over this problem and it was a worst nightmare situation to me. That which I feared occurred I could not fix it myself, I felt like a Medical Doctor who needs to have surgery on vacation by people he did not know. The dreaded lifter and cam failure on the GM AFM engine got me. The other shops I checked out all wanted to sell me Shocks and many other things not of my critical concern or need. I was a paycheck to a sales rep. It is fair as I they came though with massive risky repairs. They left nothing to spare on the engine so the Job is done right. If you do not have a personal family mechanic like a father or brother who does your repairs. Then come to Millers. Its a Business, yes. But I was dealing with the owner and mechanics with skills that come from years of experience. I did not deal with a sales rep that had shocks and engine flushes falling out of the mouth. So while there are many places to choose. And all can do the Brakes and oil changes. I will come here as they are real mechanics that can " Do it ALL" they did it the job right. I came for the skill level and they met my need and exceeded my expectations. I sure mis my Grandpa, Dad, and Chuck Overby. But they all were taken away from me, no matter how much mess I made, they fixed my disasters. My regular repair shop close by was not open at 8am when I started to drive to a doctor's appointment. The very kind owner ran a diagnostic on my engine and said it was safe to drive to the doctor's. I came back to have him work on the engine, but lo and behold, rats had chewed some wires. He fixed the wires and charged me a typical hourly fee. I am so grateful. Others could have pretended my engine need lots of work and gouged me a bundle. You would do well to have this kind man work on your car. read more

I've been there twice now. The first time for an electrical issue, the second for a nonelectrical issue. Visit one was for an electric window issue. He ended up charging less than the estimate (which I already thought was more than fair) because the problem, when he got in there, was not what he was guessing it would be but was another problem and easier to fix. The point to take away from this is that with no parts being involved, I would not have been any wiser and he could have charged more if he were not so honest. Hate to give a low review because he's a nice guy but I want to be helpful. When it comes to things like oil changes and other light work he's great. When it comes to heavier more detailed work he will miss steps. Steps that may lead to injury or worse. I'm not joking. My experience today was remarkable...I'm not kidding!! My a/c needed serving so I called and came in "last minute" on a Saturday morning during this horrific heat wave we've been having. He was going to squeeze me in before he left for the day, as he only works till 10:30 on Saturdays. Highly highly recommend having your service here. I've been coming since 2016. Great service and they really do get you the lowest price. I'm a nurse with a really busy schedule, I don't have time to get thrown around from shop to shop with a mechanic explaining to me something I don't understand and then charging me double or more for parts / service because I have to trust them. Although this is my first bad experience with them, their negligence lead to a flat tire on the way to work. What a great experience it was to work with Rich Miller. We've come to him with our other vehicles and he's always been fair and honest in his evaluations. Yesterday we took our son's car into his shop, it was leaking gas. He put it right up on the rack and diagnosed the problem with us standing right there.
