The Alw house holds a special place in my heart for two reason. 1) It's home to legit the best meal known to man.... The Zinger Mountsin Melt... and 2) It was my husband and I's first date spot! Came here while out of town for the weekend. Have always had good meals at Ale Houses. Would take our kids to a Ale House when they were young, they loved their wings. Hubby got the Pork Shank and I got the grilled shrimp meal. We both really enjoyed our meals. The shank is always tender, meaty and full of flavor. The shrimps were seasoned well, just the right amount of spice. Love the atmosphere because they have plenty of TVS, no matter where you sit you will have a good view of one. Service was nice. Update to previous review: Within 2 days the manager reached out to us and apologized for the service and assured us that was not the standard at Millers Ale House. He admitted that there was a disconnect between the waitress's and the kitchen. Those that did receive food, it was very good, but they did mention slow service, something they will need to work on. We received gift cards and the managers business card and to ask for him if we return so he can personally apologize. At this point, because it's still fresh, we'll have to study about it, but later on, I think I can see us visiting the Lakeland location again. read more

My mom gets an 8oz steak, mashed potatoes w/ gravy and broccoli. When appetizers came we had to ask another waitress for napkins. First red flag. Now the food comes out. My shrimp scampi is accompanied by a soup spoon, which would have been fine paired with a fork! That never happened and what really put the icing on the cake was no silverware was brought at all! My moms steak set for 10 mins along with everything else on her plate. No steak knife no fork no nada. Thomas the manager came to our table upon request and apologized and wanted to box the steak and take it off bill...my brother was dissatisfied with that and said just take the whole meal and shrimp scampi. These meals were both taking off. However our bill was still $76 for the worse service I ever had. It took over an hour for our food to come out, and it came out one plate at a time. (The kids meals still had not arrived) and one member of our group had to wait a additional 15 minutes for his meal. The food when it did come out was cold as if it had been sitting for quite some time, their "famous zingers" were hard and tasteless. We addressed it with our server who seemed annoyed with us for telling her, no apology or offer to heat or replace the food, nothing... We have always loved Miller's but after this, we won't be back, not to this location. We understand help is hard to find right now, so we didn't complain about the long wait for the food. The Zingers were so overdone and hard you needed a chisel to cut into them, there was a small string of meat inside the "shell", and there was very little sauce on them. Worst I've ever had. While I did have an amazing experience and I will always treasure the Ale house, I was a little disappointed to find there was no A1. Now, I'm from out of town, but at my local location there is always A1 available. However, I was only offered Heinz 57, which as you know, is just not the same. However my meal, the steak (medium rare) and my potatoes and broccoli, were fantastic. The steak was delicious, the broccoli tasted fresh and the mashed potatoes were good as well. Have eaten at the Millers Ale House in north Lakeland many times and have never had a bad meal both quality and value. Ate at the south Lakeland Millers for the first time today. What a glaring difference. Got the fish and chips which I've had many times at north location. South location fish and chips were so small and scimpy and so few fries I thought they were rationing there portions. The manager who looked more like he was working in the kitchen instead of managing said it was because there fish were thicker and so they looked smaller and the fries were three ounces. BS I've worked in many restaurants in my life and have an idea of portions. I even took a picture to compare with the north end restaurant. He didn't care and just made excuses. I didn't expect a free meal or anything I just wanted him to acknowledge that this was not a typical meal and they would do better next time. Will make sure I never eat at the south side location again. Thank goodness the north end one is much better. We have eaten at Miller's Alehouse many times, but today we stopped in for Fathers Day. They were much busier than we had expected at 11:30. I've been to several different Ale Houses in different cities and the best way to describe this location is, it's weird. I've been there about three times and it's always been the same...weird. The music isn't lively, the servers attitude is indifferent, and there isn't a good sports atmosphere. We were there to watch a game and the waitress literally asked us to close out our ticket when we were done with the first round of food and the game had just started. They were also having technical difficulties with the AV system so several games weren't even available. The one positive is the food was good, which it always is.
