It's definitely been a couple years since I've last visited a Miller's Ale House, but I am absolutely thrilled to say that the experience is exactly the same in comfort and price as well as quality of food. After getting sat down, our waitress was extremely attentive on making sure that every component of my order was met, and was extremely friendly. We went for lunch and availed ourselves of the lunch specials. Our server, Kristobal, was very nice and attentive. I ordered the fish and chips, my wife had a salad and a bowl of onion soup. The fish and chips - well, let's just say that that fish wasn't swimming recently. It was obviously frozen out of a bag. Same with the fries. My wife's onion soup was decent but her salad was pretty tasteless, and she spent a couple of minutes removing the grated cheese on top of it. We saw some other food that others were having - and it all looked pretty similar. Obviously frozen. I know that it's a sports bar so they are mainly interested in serving cocktails, but they can do better, and lower their food cost, as well, by actually cooking the food instead of buying frozen food. My spouse and I stopped here on February 1 on our way to Newark International Airport. The experience was mixed. The food was good, and the service was good, however, there was a rowdy customer standing at the bar. He was very loud and obnoxious and kept using the F word nonstop. Management seemed to care less about this. There was no respect for the other customers in the restaurant. Therefore, I can only rate this place as a three. I came here with my girlfriend on a Friday to try this place out. We were visiting her grandma, and this restaurant was close by. It was pretty crowded for a Friday afternoon, and I took that as a good sign. We got a table near the bar area. We started off ordering some beers. I must say, this place has an excellent selection of craft beers. We tried 2 different IPAs, and both were really good. We then ordered some Zingers, as that was the first menu item to catch my attention. These fried chicken tenders were amazing. Had them with honey bbq sauce, and they were just so delicious. I would order more next time. After a bit, I ordered the Prime Burger, and this was the highlight of our sitting. This burger was outstanding. I loved everything about it. Super juicy and flavorful. Went in before I brought my mom in, who is in oxygen, to make sure they had availability. They said yes, I went outside , got her out of the car, brought her in and parked and came back in. For fifteen minutes we waited for service and we were in our way to the movies so we were in a time limit. The server said he was sorry but they were short staffed. Only three servers were on and he was just helping out and it wasn't his table. We opted to leave bc if no one asked what we wanted to drink yet and it's been this long we would never make it to the movies. This was awfully inconsiderate considering she was in oxygen so it's no easy task to get her in to begin with. I was very disappointed. We had to go to chick-Fil-A nearby. This was my 1st time visiting this location. Sadly it was a huge disappointment. We ordered the Chicken Pesto Ravioli, Mimi Fiesta Chicken and Shrimp and the kids cheese quesadilla with Mac & Cheese. The presentation of the ravioli was horrible and the taste was alright. The Fiesta Chicken was very similar to a burrito bowl from Chipotle. It had no flavor and the shrimps were a little rubbery. I also ordered a strawberry lemonade that taste nothing like it's name. It was super watery. We ordered Strawberry Mules that were too strong and missing the strawberry. I ordered coffee and it taste like bitter Black Earl tea. Overall the experience was not good. I'm saddened by this as this is a local restaurant. Early dinner, trying out this new place. Big M Chicken sandwich was the best. Ribs tender and good. Margarita and Chardonnay was what we needed. Donut Holes with chocolate/caramel sauce was sinfully too good. Kristobal, our server, was just the right amount of attentiveness we desire when eating out. So glad this finally opened ! It was the perfect option for a quick lunch to go today ! I got the calamari with sweet Thai chili sauce and fried jalapeños! My husband got a bacon cheeseburger! We've been watching construction of the building on the old Sears property for months, and just by chance, we drove by on their opening day, so we went in for a late lunch. The restaurant is large, modern and comfortable with plenty of huge TV screens tuned to various sports channels. We were greeted and taken to a large comfortable booth immediately. A server told us that our server, Katie, would be right with us. Katie was very pleasant and upbeat, efficient, friendly and helpful. She's definitely a keeper! The menu includes something for everyone and the bar selections are ample. My husband enjoyed his burger topped with cheese, mushrooms and onion straws. He substituted onion rings for fries. He said everything was very good. Because I love baby back ribs, I order them in every restaurant that has them on the menu to see if they measure up to the very high bar I set on the rib scale. I can happily report that the ribs at Millers in Watchung are excellent: tender fall-off-the-bone juicy, and a very tasty sauce with the right amount of tang. I definitely recommend them. Because this was their first day open, I expected some chaos (believe me, I've experienced it when other restaurants first opened). I have to give the management staff and crew a huge thumbs up. You would have thought they were there for decades. Manager Scott stopped by to chat, explained where the chain originated and listed the location of other Millers in NJ. We asked him if they are in Phoenix AZ where we spend the winter, but alas they are not. Maybe someday. I suspect it won't be long before we'll have to stand in line to eat at Millers in Watchung once word gets out how good it is. Congratulations guys, you nailed it! read more

A tylical amaerican sports bar place. First time visiting this place, the wait wasnt that bad considering holiday weekday. We got our table in 15 mins. The vibe was good. The place set up was nice to chill with friends and enjoy some games on tv. We ordered couple draft beers with classic margarita and mule. No complains on the drinks. Well done there! and moving on to food, we ordered their famous zingers melt and regular zingers one with sweet thai chilli and one with hot garlic respectively. Both tasted good! For main course, we ordered few burgers this time as its been ages to go the classic route of tasting burgers, couple prime burgers and one queso burger with variety of sides like mash potatoes, sweet potatoes and lime rice. All of which tasted good. Only criticism I would say is, they could reduce the amount of fried onions on the burger patty as that was taken over the original taste. The welcoming staffs were the best part of the restaurant. They were polite and professional. Our server was just so so. She did check in with us several times during our meal, but I am not sure why we had to ask for everything like soda refill, take out box, check, etc. The wings were served hot and fresh. Baby back ribs were served warm. Teriyaki beef and potstickers were barely warm and very dry. The pulled pork tacos were very stingy with the ingredients. On the hottest day of the month, we were seated in the area that had semi air conditioning, despite the fact that there was plenty of room in the main dining area. Service was slow to come around but attentive and kind. When our food arrived, so did all the flies. I advised the waitress and she said "yeah I know, sorry." Then a manager (I think was a manager) popped in to ask how everything was. I mentioned how the flies really were disgusting. He said the same thing but ended with "well I am glad you are enjoying everything." Later he came back with 10% coupon off my next order. Did he think I was coming back to eat again? How about fix the fly problem? Actually, it was flies and fruit flies-both! Something isn't right about that and it can't be healthy!?!?! The food was nothing to boast about either. Absolutely loving this new spot in town!! Wide selection of food, weeknight specials, fun cocktails, a bar and sit down area, you really can't complain about it. It has a fun upbeat vibe. Lots of tvs in the dining room but it didn't bother me. I imagine during sports seasons it'll get really packed. We've been a few times now, reach time getting something else and we've been nothing but impressed with the food and friendly service. The zingers are their classic which is basically breaded chicken with different sauce. They serve it over fries with cheese and it really is so good. We split that and got an appetizer which was perfect. Can't wait to go back! We keep tapping out before dessert, but eventually we'll get there! My favorite item so far has been the pretzel appetizer. It's huge and so delicious!! You don't see that often on menus so it's fun to have it so close and be so good! read more

I ate here tonight with friends and had an ok meal. Staff: graters and waiter where nice Food: we had to ask for 1 of 3 appetizers after 10 min, they forgot it. When it arrived it was missing the sauce and the replacement sauce was basically white water (should have been queso sauce). My burger was a little dry and the french fries were old. The others said their food was ok. My issue came after the meal. I used the ladies room (walking in behind a kitchen staff member (hat and hairnet)). We both exited the stalls at the same time. She preceded to let about 5 drops of water touch her fingertips, dried them and left. NO SOAP - and that is why I can not go back there again. I did let the manager on duty know. I tried this new restaurant in my area for the first time today. I ordered the Grilled Chicken BLT served with french fries. My friend ordered the Chicken and Pear Salad. My fries were served cold with a lot of the fries not crisp at all. The chicken sandwich was tasty but not outstanding. The salad was served without and pears whatsoever. When this was brought to our server's' attention, he took it back to the kitchen. Someone came to our table, who we assumed was a manager, and said they didn't have pears but wasn't informed about it. He asked if my friend wanted to order something else, but she declined. He did discount the salad which was appreciated. It looks like there are issues with the kitchen that needs sorting out. There is no reason cold fries and an incomplete salad should be served at all. read more

Went to Miller's on route 22 in Watchung after my school graduation the service was unacceptable. It took forever for them to realize that we had a table of four top in the bar area. This is the second occasion we've come to visit Milldale house. We thought we would give it another try because the first occasion, we had the same experience, slow service nonexistent everybody gathered and was speaking, but no one was taking care of the tables. I would highly not recommend this facility to eat or drink so disappointed we a second chance totally better at the second time to no avail worse no one overseen anything everybody gathered and just talking. I had to order drinks from the bar somebody should be overseeing this crew we will not be returning. read more
