Reviews With Photos - Miller's Ale House

This is what they call their dinner portion of fish and chips - ($17) pathetic

Still on my quest for good fish and chips in East Orlando - this isn't it. Used to come to this Miller Ale house for years back when Jack Miller was the owner. I got the dinner portion - expensive for what I received- 5 small pieces that I would swear were NOT cod - but some other white fish. The fries were so over salted that I need two glasses of water to wash it down. The service was good - our server Checked back with us frequently. The ambiance is okay, lots of TV's with games on - it is a sports bar.

My go too for football Sundays with hubby. Love their beer specials and wings. Service at this location is always good and fast. I love that everyone comes and can enjoy watching football together especially as a women. I am a die hard football girl !

Ale House is always one of my go to's for bar food. Zingers are my fav item to order so when I got an email about the new Mountain Melt Madness I ran to Ale House. This location is less busy than others and one of the reasons I come here. Since we got there when it opened it was super quiet and spacious. Our server was just as excited as I was to order the new mountain melt. The Mountain Melt Madness is huge so bring a couple of friends to share all this goodness. The Mountain Melt Madness is a warm Bavarian Pretzel with creamy beer cheese, famous Zingers Mountain Melt® tossed in hot Buffalo sauce, gooey & melted cheese, green onion, and a stack of Mozzarella Sticks. Served with marinara sauce. Each layer was as good as the previous. The Melt Madness has a little bit of everything and all the flavors work well together. I washed it down with some green tea shots from the bar. To finish off this lunch I ordered a Peppermint Brownie Skillet with Vanilla Ice Cream. This skillet is huge and honestly about 4 people could share. Perfect dessert to kick off the holiday season. Such a great new appitizer I hope Ale House makes it a permanent staple.

Big Red Chicken Sandwich

Generally, I love Millers Ale House; I wouldn't say its my favorite place to go, but for the most part, they have never let me down until my most recent experiences at their Kirkman Rd & Winter Park/University store. This review reflects the Winter Park location. It was a mediocre Thursday evening and it wasn't too busy, so I'm not sure why service is lacking, maybe because it's next to Full Sail and they are used to serving the college crowed (not bashing college students, I just graduated again recently as well). There were five of us. One couple ordered a salmon fillet with rice, our fifth wheel got loaded fries, Nancy and I chose one of my personal favorites, the Big Red ($12.99) with fries, an add-on side of onion rings ($3.99), and an add-on house salad with blue cheese dressing ($2.49). Since it was still happy hour, we also ordered a Blue Moon ($5.99) and their house Margarita ($4.99). Our salads arrived in less than 10 minutes; however, we didn't realize until the food was dropped off that there was no silverware to eat with, so we had to wait a few more minutes to receive our utensils. Additionally, one of the salads was supposed to be a Caesar salad and the other house should have included ranch not blue cheese. Our server Marshall was nice enough to let us keep the house/Caesar salad mix-up at no additional cost. About 10-minutes later our main courses arrived, but once again we were missing things and our order was not correct. The Big Red did not arrive with fries, but onion rings instead. We wanted fries with the sandwich and onion rings as an add-on. Marshall said he would bring out a side for fries but we declined. We also were waiting for condiments, which we didn't receive until we were halfway through with our meal, Rat's! I also have to say that the Big Red is not as good as it used to be. I remember it being served as a much thicker piece of fried chicken, more sauce, and including lettuce, tomato, and onion. That's how I always received it at the Kirkman location, but since this is a chain, they are probably all the same. The service is what really killed it for us on this visit. Although Marshall was very pleasant, there were just too many issues. We began to focus more on the issues than the conversation and time together with our friends. When the bill came, we also noticed that the pricing Marshall told us for the beer and margarita specials were actually more than what he told us. It ended up turning into a he said/ she said scenario and I'm not about to argue and create a scene. All-in-all, this was a below average experience for me. The food was good, but the service lacking. I would return again if I was in a bind and nowhere else to go; however, there are many better options on this side of town.

We came here December 2023 about 6:00 p.m.. there were not many people in the restaurant on the side that we were at. The food was good but the service was awful. Our waiter seemed very distracted. He didn't bring us any silverware. We ordered a Caesar salad and regular salad and he brought two regular salads. He miss quoted me the price on a margarita. He didn't bring us any knives to cut our salad or meal. We ordered onion rings and fries but he only brought us onion rings. We had a party of four. My husband and I split the big red chicken sandwich because we both were not real hungry. The chicken was good but I think last time it came with lettuce onion and tomato. This time it just came with a chicken cheese and bread. They did offer you a special sauce which was delicious. I had a side salad and onion rings. I don't think I would come to this one again on University in Winter Park. The one in Sanford is so much better.

Had an early morning follow-up doctor's appointment the other day and received the news everyone…read morewants to hear, a clean bill of health and a "keep doing what you're doing." Naturally, I celebrated by heading to Hideaway for breakfast. While I'm not a regular, I've been visiting Hideaway for years. The original location across the street had a classic smoke-filled dive bar atmosphere, and I could tell stories all day about memorable experiences there. Those stories are best saved for another time. The new location is unquestionably an upgrade in comfort and appearance, though it lacks some of the character and smoke that made the old place so memorable. Fortunately, the things that matter most remain intact. The beer is still ice cold, the drinks are solid, and the food is consistently above average at prices that are hard to argue with. This particular morning, I grabbed a seat at the bar and took advantage of their $5 breakfast burrito (available before 9 AM). The menu lists bacon or ham as protein options, but I was also offered sausage, which I happily chose along with the eggs and cheese. I'm glad I did. The sausage was nicely rendered with crisp edges that delivered little flavor bombs throughout the burrito. Wanting to dress things up a bit, I asked for pico de gallo. My server laughed and replied, "This is a dive bar," before offering salsa instead. Fair enough. The salsa, combined with a generous squeeze of their hot sauce, turned out to be exactly what the burrito needed. In fact, it was so good I briefly considered ordering a second one to go. Then I could practically hear my doctor whispering in my ear, advising restraint, so I reluctantly passed. For those unfamiliar with Hideaway, it's also a major Miami Dolphins fan destination. Whether you're a Dolphins fan or not, I highly recommend experiencing one of their game-day watch parties at least once. The atmosphere is electric and one of the more unique sports-viewing experiences around. My only minor gripe was being charged an extra dollar for the small container of salsa, and it wasn't even pico de gallo. Not enough to ruin an otherwise enjoyable visit, but enough to earn a raised eyebrow. Overall, a great breakfast, a little nostalgia, and a fitting way to celebrate a positive doctor's visit.

A relaxing place to eat and catch a game on their outdoor patio. Definitely get there earlyread more
