I wish I could say good things....BUT....I Cant!!! Let me tell you about my experience. I hear grinding on my car and a friend saw its my axel and torned boot. I tell Milts SErvice Garage its knocking and you know what he asks me? "do i get regular oil changes?" Huh? Wha? Then lectures me Trust me, i am not a child and I am my mid 40's. Listen folks, I am not naive and I yes I service my vehicle as needed. Then he proceeds to tell me repairs will be $800.00 for a chain tension...UGH...He didn't even test drive or mention to me he would....i drove out of there so fast(KNOCKS & ALL). It was the good ol' woman driver victimization. Its ashamed. Went to another place (after the 3rd try) and viola' yep it was a torned axel and hundreds cheaper than what this place quoted me. read more

Once again, these guys saved my bacon. I brought my 2001 Saturn in with front wheel bearings that were shot. Then, because the car is so old, the rusted spindle snapped in the press! I thought I would be shelling out for an additional 3 days for my rental car (it was a Friday, so I'd have to extend over the weekend). In the midst of my despair, Steve tracked down an outfit in American Canyon that happened to have a spindle for my model Saturn. Another garage would have left it until Monday, until their normal vendors were available. But they drove out to American Canyon, got the spindle, and had it all mounted and drivable by close of business. Again, can't sing the praises of these guys loud enough! read more

While I consider my review fair and accurate, I do want to mention that I have been contacted by the owners of Milt's who expressed regret over my experience and attempted to find a way to resolve things. I'm working with a shop that is much closer to my home and that has done a great job of earning and retaining my business, so it doesn't make sense for me to go back to Milt's. Milt's is an awesome shop. They know what they are talking about and will get the job done at a reasonable price. Adrian is straight forward and will even advise against unnecessary services. We took our Nissan Xterra here after the dealership quoted us over $2k to fix the issue. We found out that the issue that the dealership was going to fix wasn't even the problem... something else, completely unrelated was the issue causing our check engine light and it only cost us a fraction of the price. Great service! Friendly front office staff! The guy who wrote our estimate was funny. Brought my car in for a job, and they did awesome work! Even called to let me know that the wheel was missing a lug nut (thanks Les Schwab!) and they would replace it at no cost. They also adjusted the emergency brake free of charge! I have really written some hard Yelp posts in the past regarding Auto Repair. Basically I am really down on them treating people like they are stupid and seemingly always going out of there way to take advantage of female customers. Although, they are about 40 miles away from us I decided to try them out on our M3 with a very complicated electrical/transmission problem. The owner accepted the challenge with open arms and no attitude. I must say that he charged us for maybe 1/3 of the actual time they spent on the project, just because he wanted to make sure the job was perfect and it was. If you want to deal with someone who is a true mechanic/technician and not just a parts changer go here you will not be disappointed. Excellent customer service and I was very comfortable with the honest and clear way Adrian dealt with us over the steering issue we had in our 2007 Toyota Yaris sedan. They saw us the same day when I explained that our other car needed clutch repair and was out of commission. They also had us in and out in less than 2.5 hours. These guys took care of my poor Honda Civic. Adrian explained everything well and was patient since my schedule made it difficult to pick up my car. My car sat for 6 months. It was a mess. Adrian broke it down into what had to be done now, what should be done now, what should be done soon and what could wait a little while. I wanted it all taken care of so he did that for me. He even gave me advice when I needed to get it registered at the DMV. It now runs like a dream. Plus after I got my car back he emailed me to let me know that he had just got an order of windshield wipers in. Since he noticed mine needed to be replaced he offered to do mine free. First time I went to Milt's, Adrian is the man for getting down to the point on what needs to be done and what didn't need to be done. Another shop told me that I needed to have something done and after doing some research and talking to Adrian, I really didn't need it. Would've been 5 stars but until today. I called not too long ago trying to see what was the time frame to do a simple oil change and some other things. I spoke with Hal, since Adrian was on the other line and I didn't like the attitude I got from him. I was simply asking what days and times I can drop off my car so I can plan my schedule and all I got was a pushy attitude. After we talked about what needs to be done to my car and had it scheduled. He asked me "Who are you.." in a unpleasant way. So I asked him "What was that?!?" and he responded with the same attitude. Now I know why I asked to speak to Adrian. Just because of that kind of customer service from Hal, I'm not even in a rush to have my car done there as of right now from you guys. read more

This has been my second time at Milt's Service Garage and both experiences have been great. The staff is very friendly and their work has been top notched. They allowed me to purchase my own parts for a suspension job with them doing the install, which helped me save a lot of money versus competitor shops who required me to purchase their parts. I needed a starter for my Toyota and was looking for a convenient shop in Vallejo. I first stopped by another shop on the same street to find out what they would charge and how quickly I could schedule a repair - Not friendly at all, in fact basically rude to me and told me to call and leave a message they were 'too busy' to look the price up and had customers waiting. Left them a voice mail when I got to work, two days later still no call back! so... - I then contacted Milt's, left a voice mail, he called me back within about an hour, told me what the starter replacement would cost and could get me in on Monday morning, it was Friday. Great! On Monday I dropped off the car at 8am and they had the repair done and I picked up the car about 10:30! WOW! Great experience, what a difference a block makes. Yes, Milt's is only a block down from the rude guy's shop. I will return to Milt's for all future repairs. read more

4 stars since this was my first experience but I will definitely change it to 5 if future services continue to be this great! I found Milt's on Yelp while looking for a local shop to take my car in for an oil change and tire rotation. I was impressed by all of the positive reviews and Milt's lived up to them! They were able to accommodate me right away (same day) and were friendly and professional. They included the tire rotation w/ the oil change for no charge and Adrian even threw in a new set of wipers. Also, I love that they have an email system set-up w/ maintenance records & reminders and the ability to schedule appointments online. I had a terrible experience at another Vallejo shop and have been taking my car to a recommend mechanic in Martinez, but it's been very inconvenient. I have a check engine light issue which required my catalytic to be replaced before i can pass a smog. Passed the smog after that. Labor price is fair and people i believe are honest. Called in asking if I could bring my 2005 S2000 in to get scanned for a check engine light. They told me to bring it in at a later time and I told them I'd call before I drop by. Called in the afternoon and they told me to bring it on by. I was greeted by Adrian. Pulled the car up asked if the OBD port was on the right side which is where the first generation had them (so a safe guess would be he's familiar with them and he's worked on them before). I honestly wasn't sure since I literally bought it 3 days ago. I hopped out the driver seat and he popped the Modus into the port, ran the scan and found the code. He cleared it for me and checked any other temp codes. He also asked if I wanted to take a picture of the code so I could look it up later, which I did. After that we were done, no push on diagnostics, no push for service, didn't offer me any specials to simply try to get my car in the shop. I worked as a service writer at a dealership before, this place is a testament to real homely customer service. When going to have your vehicle checked there's always the worry of having to deal with someone baiting you to get your car into their shop and have you spend money. None here. So just for that first time experience if anyone asked for a good shop that they could take their vehicle to, I'd tell them to go to Milt's. This was my first time here. If I need any other cars serviced I'd check with Milt's first. Support your small local businesses in Vallejo! My vehicle has a warranty so I'm taking advantage of that right now otherwise I would've left it there to get it fixed. read more

I needed to get the belts changed on my car. (I brought new belts with me that I bought at the auto parts store. I called around a few places including Jiffy Lube. When I called Milt's, Danny?, answered the phone and basically made an appointment with me and told me he would have a slot ready for me. Shortly afterwards I found out JiffyLube was cheaper so I headed there, but JiffyLube didn't have the tools needed to change the belts! So I headed to Milt's and he took me in immediately and got me set up. They offered me a ride home and back while the work is done. The work was done immediately and in less than an hour I was on my way. In all, it was a very pleasant experience. He did what was needed and didn't try to sell me a bunch of other stuff.
