I brought my 2008 VW to Milt's Service Garage because the buttons on my steering wheel stopped working. Although they specialize in BMWs, they did their best to diagnose the issue. In the end, they recommended taking my car to a VW dealership for proper computer programming, as only the dealership could ensure it matched my car's VIN. I really appreciated their honesty. I was only charged for the actual time the technician spent diagnosing my car, not the full hour. Jazz, our customer service rep, was knowledgeable and honest, and I valued his feedback. As it turned I was referred to Milts from the first call I made out and Milts answered the phone on first ring and I spoke to the General Manager Keith, he said bring the car in that It should not be a difficult task. I did not have to make an appointment, I did not have to wait for weeks. He saw me the same day and fixed the problem which took what seem like 15 to 20 min. or less even. He did not charge me, just to write up a review. It was his passion for his work, honesty and what a way to bring back business. The guys at Milt's garage were quick and helpful. Price of labor and parts were average. I had two car serviced by them. No complaints on the first one. Here is my issue. The second vehicle I took in had starter issue. After paying 140 for diagnostic I was told the coolant temperature sensor needed to be changed. I also had 3 belts replaced because one was squealing. No other issues reported. The next day I picked up the vehicle. The starter issue was fixed and started up perfectly. No high pitch sound from the belt. However upon pulling out the parking lot, I immediately felt something was not right. The front suspension was shot out! No absorption. It was bouncing violently and my front tires were scraping the wheel well. I drove around the block and heading straight back to the shop. I got back to Milt's and spoke with Jazz, the staff members that rang me up 5 minutes prior. I told them that they need to fix the suspension because they damaged it. Jazz denied all wrong doing. Insisted paying them another 140 for diagnostic! I explained to him that the vehicle had no suspension problems before and somehow it's broken now?Document revealed that they drove the car 6 miles around Vallejo (many pot holes) and the mechanic never reported the issue but when I drove off the lot and I noticed it immediately. They weren't being HONEST. Jazz eventually offer to waive the 140 inspection fee. After inspection, the finding were to replaced front struts and spring. And like most shop, they recommended to replaced the rear suspension also (how convenient for them) totaling over $1200. Jazz then suddenly had an explanation as to what happened. According to him the vehicle was lifted then dropped down gently but because the "age" of the car, the suspension failed. I told him this is unlikely but if this was the factor don't hide this information from me. I truly believe something else happened, perhaps not intentional but accidental and they chose not to say anything. The shop has a sign and waiver stating they're not responsible for any damages but good and loyal customers needs to feel safe to leave their vehicles with a honest and transparent shop. I ended up paying for the front suspension only . I tried reasoning with Jazz on the shop paying half but they're weren't giving. I honestly want to like this place but after this experience I felt the integrity and honesty of the shop has been compromised. read more

I can't believe I forgot to review. This is from February 2022. I was looking around for a place that could tell me why my car was making a loud exhaust noise. I figured someone stole my cat but come to find out there was a huge hole in my exhaust pipe. I called Milt's and Tom was amazing from the start. They diagnosed my car and repaired it all before I had to be to work at the cheapest price I personally was quoted. My daughter has had her car for a few months now and just told me she needs an oil change and she doesn't know where to go (kids lol). Immediately, Tom popped into my mind and I let her know. My car is currently in the shop right now, and this is the most stressed out I have ever been. The crazy part is I have a warranty! We put our car in the shop 8.30, a day I regret strongly. My husband dropped the car off for a diagnosis and waited in the "waiting area" for almost an hour and a half. Then he was told it would take longer so we Uber-ed him home. The incident started at 8am, we got a call around 5-ish, asking if we could give approval for them to change our spark plugs because they were not covered in the warranty. My husband said he just wanted them to do the work that was covered and we would figure out the rest. The shop told us (1st ) if we don't change the spark plugs, we don't do the work. Long story short we approved the spark plugs to be changed. They were on their way to fix the work that was covered and we were told to expect our car to be finished Friday but but husband had a work trip so that would be hard, so we told them just have it done by next Friday. Then we are hit with a huge shocking announcement, apparently our engine is failing. Our warranty company says they wanna hold the claim until an adjuster can confirm this. So an adjuster goes out 9.6 to inspect. Warranty company tells us there is low compression and misfire but we need to know why. Replacing a whole engine without further investigation is frivolous (I agree with them) Shop says we will only replace whole engine (2nd ) we won't go in and find out what's wrong to give any clarification just pay for the engine. Our car is still there and we are in limbo because they refuse to actually do their jobs. The scary thing is we never had issues with the engine, or did we ever have reasons to believe the engine was failing. According to another mechanic and the warranty company a misfire and low compression could be caused by so many other things, not just engine failure. So what is the solid reason for replacing the engine without a solid reason for the misfire/low compression? Stay away from this place, they will find one problem and it will be a snowball effect from there. We don't even know what shape our car is in now and I'm honestly scared to drive it. read more

My old Toyota Tacoma - my dependable buddy was sputtering this morning, he was definitely out of sorts. Normally my steady work horse and capable stead, he was not feeling well. Power was lacking when accelerating on the freeway. They took me in on a Friday and I left it there over the weekend. Later that day on Friday, I received a call and an estimate to change the parts that needed changing after 22 years - they also changed the belts (which gave me a large squeaking noise - even after 2 cans of belt dressing used) Now the car is working great and no more noises. My truck is running like new and they were able to get it done all within the promised timeframe. I feel that the price was a little high - but, HEY ! if you don't know how to do it, then you have to pay someone to do it right. Overall it was fair and fast. Don't ever take your car here if all you want is an oil change. I took my vehicle once before and when I called to make an "appointment" they said bring it at 8am that's when we're open. So, I did. After 4 long hours I called and asked if my vehicle was ready to pick up and they said it wasn't ready. After another hour of waiting they finally called me. I thought 5 hours was a little too long for a simple oil change. Anyways I gave them another chance for another oil change. That was my mistake, they took 6 hours. When I called they said it would be ready soon but I couldn't wait any longer and they got somebody to work on it before I was able to pick it up. I called again after picking it up because my vehicle was acting funny. And they said we only did an oil change and we're not a quick lube place we're a full mechanic shop. Why would you make appointments if you're not going to be working on it right away But, 6 hours for an oil change REALLY. Definitely never giving my business to these people ever again. If you're looking for an oil change that's not going to take 6 hours go somewhere else. This place sucks read more

Keith, manager, quoted me $1,115.61 to repair my BMW X3 cooling system. I came in to pay but the amount changed to $1,181.53. He briefly said that it was because of an extra hose that he ordered. A courtesy call would have been the professional action to do for any amount discrepancies. I have been using Milts for many years with Adrian as the owner who is very personable. But I have to say to Keith that he was unprofessional because he did not even give me a courtesy call of the amount changing. In addition, he did not take his time to talk to me when I picked up the car. It was a 10 second comment like "the amount changed because I had to use a hose that I ordered" then handed me over to Tom. As a consequence, I'm thinking of changing where to get my cars fixed. Update as of 11/18/2021: Adrian, owner, reached out to me personally. He gave me a credit for the difference. Adrian is the best owner as well as a BMW certified mechanic. On Wednesday April 19 I took my Jeep Patriot in because I had check engine light on I have a newborn Babygirl and a teen age boy that I have to take to school and appointments practices etc. I decided to have it checked out my car was driving fine no oil spills drivable .. I had time that day and was curious why the light was coming up.. that's that. Left it at Milts on Wednesday the front desk guy said they would send me a text or call as soon as they knew what the light was.. few hours later get a call it's Yazz they gave me a quote of 1603 to get my spark plugs replaced and removed 491 as well as brake fluid flush 162 and remove replace radiator hose.... Totaling 1600 ok I approved the work since they said it needed to get done sooner or later. Ok fine I get a call that same day Yass said it was ready I pick it up that same day .. Next day I take my son to school I smell something burning under my hood I ignore it thinking maybe it's because it was worked on yesterday .. pick up my son from school get home and we hear a hose running and smoke from my front hood as I look down there is orange red fluid leaking from truck I immediately call Miltz I explained to him what was going on it was about 4pm he goes bring it in tomorrow????????? Very nonchalant I said no you guys need to fix it and see it today he goes fine bring it in we close at 5pm .. I took it in he goes your under warranty with us if it's something we fixed will cover it if your radiator cracked that's on you???? Make it make sense if they had just checked my car the day before and didn't mention anything related to a cracked radiator.. I left my car the next day around 9am.,.
