The only reason I would give it 2 stars is because the manager tried to make it better. The wait was horrible, the food was tasteless, when we asked for a specific bread we were told they were out , however the manager said that wasn't true. The food is overpriced for what you get . What a surprise. We had to go out early for an exam. Once we received good news, we were ready for breakfast. First let's say 5 dollar mimosa on the weekend!!! The atmosphere was very inviting. Ordered DoorDash, food arrived on time yet all 4 entrees were cold as well as dressing and side breads/muffins/potatoes were missing. Our food was great. I even have a food allergy and they made me a new entree so fast. Tania our server was very nice and attentive. Mimi's was conveniently located to our hotel. 5 minute walk for great food, excellent beers and mimosas. The restaurant wasn't super busy but that is ok we could actually talk and laugh and have a nice meal while traveling back home to Arizona. Went here for the first time today and thought the food itself was just ok. Got a mushroom and brie burger, and it just wasn't... great. Didn't have a whole lot of flavor, and was a tad bit too greasy. The muffins and fries rocked, and the other people I went with enjoyed their food. I just didn't think, for something as easy as a burger at least, wasn't all that great. However, the thing that got me was the service. Our server was rude and rushing us. He kept interrupting us while we were still ordering, and it was obvious he was more focused on getting people served and out the door, then focusing on the customer and their needs. Our first time at Mimi's Cafe was not a great experience. First of all, the New Orleans/French Quarter style was something nice to look at. We were disappointed in the food and (lack of) communication. I understand that it was Mother's Day, and that the menu was limited. What I don't understand is that when most of the patrons left is why it took so much longer for our food to arrive after the point. I order the french pot roast with french onion soup and Butter Toffee Cake, and my wife orders the Strip Steak(a 3 dollar upcharge) with scalloped potatoes and mashed potatoes, Corn Chowder and Butter Toffee Cake. My French onion soup was lukewarm but delicious (I actually recommend if it's hot). The server comes out like 40 minutes later to tell us that the scalloped potatoes were out, so she got a double helping of mashed potatoes. When our food arrived after sitting there for over an hour, my wife's steak was overcooked. I suggested she ask them to cook it, but she didn't complain. Another issue was the lack of seasoning on the steak. Then, finally, 10 minutes into eating, the server comes out and tells us that they're out of Butter Toffee Cake! I don't know if I would recommend, but the french onion soup was pretty good, but I didn't go in for soup. read more

We've eaten here several times before, and it was always good. Tonight, it was disappointing. My french fries were from frozen, and undercooked. The beer battered fish was the same way. The omelet was bland, and home fries inedible. The toast on the side was only one slice, and not actually toasted. The food would have been better at McDonald's. If I could give 0 stars I would. Thanksgiving 2022 my dad and I were looking for a place to get brunch or some light thanksgiving appetizers. We called ahead and someone on the phone said it was open seating and there was plenty of room for 2 to sit. We drive over and a host asks us for the name for our reservation. We say we were just there for a table for 2. He says unfortunately there is no walk- ins today as it is thanksgiving and we cannot be seated. We both take a seat in the empty lobby to regroup and figure out where we are going next. From the counter the host asked us if we wish to order food To-go, and we say no thank you. He then says "ok well if you aren't ordering, you cannot just hang out in here". I've never felt so I welcomed at a restaurant in my life. 0/10 would recommend. read more

So I've been here before, many years ago. Tonight we went with a group of friends and the first thing I noticed when we walked through the door is that there was no hostess. We were seated by our waiter. My friend was going on about heir delicious bread and asked the waiter for some extra, and he replied he couldn't do that. Hello, the bread was free!! Then we were sat and he took out drink order, and disappeared. For a full 15 minutes. No bread, no sight if him, nothing. It was dinner time and to be honest this place was almost empty. There were no other tables seated in our section. My husband ordered the mahi mahi fish special. It had a good flavor profile and would have been delicious, but the fish portion was extremely small, and the fish was over over cooked.... badly. I told my husband to say something but he was so hungry he didn't want to wait so he just ate it. I got a pasta with shrimp and vegetables (and a lemon sauce). Honestly, I loved it, that was done right. Service here is slow. Like, crawling. You wait to pay your bill, you wait for the table to be cleared, you wait for the ticket, you even wait to be seated. Took a while for our presence to be acknowledged, and this was around 6pm. Another couple had entered before us and were wandering back and forth trying to find an employee to come to the front. Once seated, our server Jonathon was polite and took our orders promptly. I had the roasted half chicken. It was so dry that I couldn't even attempt to cut the wing from the piece to eat it, and that's a bummer because wings are my favorite. The scalloped potatoes were tasty, but the cheese was so hard I had to cut it with a knife, and I hurt a tooth when I took a bite. I've been wanting to try Mimi's for awhile now, and I was heartily disappointed. While the kitschy interior design gave me fond, nostalgic memories, the booths fabric backrests were so grimy that you couldn't even see the pattern on them. The waitress that seated us almost literally ran out after the appetizers were served, but she appeared to not want to be there. My companion started with a lemonade and I ordered a cafe au lait. The lemonade came with refills, but my cafe au lait did not. And it was $5.49 per cup. Which I think is ridiculous considering it's literally coffee with milk and a bit of milk foam on top. Moving on though -- the carrot raisin nut madelines were actually delicious, which made me happy, but the chicken tender appetizer, while being clearly breaded in house, was bland. The breading had no seasoning whatsoever and it was falling off of the chicken. For our main courses, my companion ordered the half chicken (which, on their menu, looks blackened, so she was excited) with a side of broccoli and au gratin. The au gratin was cold in the middle and when she peeled off one of the layers, the cream in the middle was oily and separated. For my meal, I chose a three-course set. It started with corn chowder which, again, hit nostalgic notes and was excellent, then had the French Pot Roast for a main course. The pot roast itself was fine, but it was spread over mashed potatoes that honestly tasted like they came from the "Reser" section of our local grocery store. For my dessert, I ordered molten lava cake, which comes with a side of ice cream. This is not what I had at all. They served me a chocolate bundt cake with microwaved hot fudge and a side of ice cream that felt like it'd been in the freezer for months. Someone needs to teach them that molten lava cake means you stick a cylinder of frozen ganache in the middle of your cake batter, BAKE it, and then the ganache is your molten bit. Our waitresses were inattentive at best, and never cleared our plates from the table when we were done with them, until I had to remind them that I was still waiting for my dessert. Overall, this disappointing meal that had maybe two high points at the beginning cost us around $85 with a tip (because we understand that waitresses don't even make minimum wage but depend on tips). We will never go here again, and I regret going in the first place. I'll be going to M'tucci's again in the future when I want a good meal. read more

Walked in on a Tuesday night and the place was dead which was one of the first slight red flags. Then the menu was so massive it seemed suspicious. Food came out in a decent amount of time but was not seasoned well or proportioned well especially for the expensive price they charge. We were seated quickly and our server was nice. A bit slow, but nice. We had the quiche Lorraine, 2 croissant sandwiches and the waffle with berries and eggs and bacon. The food came out quickly as well. Our sandwiches were ok though the lettuce garnish was soggy. The waffle was ok but the berries were mostly just blueberries that were definitely frozen. Then we have the quiche which was wholly cooked but was mushy inside as was the crust. The microwave works hard at Mimi's. I understand it's necessary for the speed but quite disappointing at this price. Our bill was $80! Note that drinks are $3.50 each. The bathrooms had lots of staining on the doors and there were cobwebs above the computers. It will be a long time before we return. This place needs a good cleaning and revamping of production. Note that the menu is extensive and we only sampled a few items, maybe other options are better. The chairs were a bit wobbly too, I was a bit worried. The décor was fine. Think Olive garden but more kitschy. Olive Garden meets Cracker Barrel. read more

I've been coming to Mimi's for quite awhile now. We usually come on the weekends for lunch and we have never been let down . The quality of food is always great. Mimi's also has a nice variety to choose from. From tasty breakfast options to an excellent lunch menu (I usually get a nice burger), I am never let down. Mimosas are usually a must-have as well, they are refreshing and great with breakfast or lunch. Ive still yet to try dinner but I'm sure that it will happen soon. Went to Mimi's Cafe for brunch. From the moment we walked in the experience was terrible. We were quoted a 10 minute wait time which is understandable due to short staffing however we ended up waiting 30 minutes. Once we got our table it was a table that was open the entire time we were waiting... We ordered 2 mimosas and my GF got a water but for some reasons I didn't not and had to ask twice for a water with my alcoholic beverages. I ordered 2 muffins was told that they would be out before my GF meal. I am not sure why I wasn't asked when I wanted my muffins.... our waiter now vanished for 20 minutes and we didn't have any service. My muffins we brought out once our waiter returned along with another water. 15 minutes after I got my muffins my GF food showed up brought by someone else. He didn't ask if we needed anything and just throw it on the table and left. After being at the table for 35 minutes my GF finally was about to eat a piece of bacon and some eggs because they didn't bring her syrup for her French toast. Once again our waiter was MIA... she bite into her bacon which was raw and then had a bite of her eggs... when chewing her bite of eggs, SHE THEN IMMEDIATELY SPIT OUT HER EGGS!!! THERE WAS A GIANT BALL OF BLACK & GREY HAIR COOKED INTO HER EGGS!!!! We immediately ask for the manager to anyone we could find as our waiter was MIA still. He came to our table like there wasn't a problem. He never introduced himself or anything and Was like what is going on. We explain to him that we found a giant ball of hair in her eggs. Here immediately comped our meal. However he did not apologize for any of the inconvenience or seemed concerned that we found a giant ball hair in our food. It was like another day at the office for him. He did not try to make it right or do anything to remedy the problem. We will not be going back not only because of all these problems. This place is one of my go tos for DoorDash delivery. It's so solid, I've never been disappointed. The French pot roast is delicious, and I love getting the turkey dinner plate. The experience WOULD have been fine maybe even exceptional but I had a piece of cheese separating paper in my omelette and only discovered when it was in my mouth. The waitress offered to make me another but I was halfway through and my appetite at that moment disappeared. Getting the bill with my 3 friends included I saw they did not take off my omelette. I told the waitress she should take it off. Annoyed she said I offered to get you another. I just looked at her and said , take it off. Bianca was pleasant until then but quickly turned cold. The original bill was $88 , taking off my omelette made it $72. I left $100, still giving her more than her tip which she really did not deserve. I won't eat at a Mimi's again but I do feel for service industry people. It's a shame she didn't know what the "right" thing to do was. Ps. I have always liked Mimi's. This time was no different as I got what I expected. And actually, it is meh! The decor hasn't changed and the service was good. The server was very polite and the food was delivered in a vey timely manner. However, when we received the check, we saw that our bottle of wine that we had ordered was $10 over the menu price. We asked the server to check with the manager to verify the price. She insisted that it was as she had put on the bill but she did check. When she returned to the table she said that the price on the bill was correct and that the menu was old and that the menu price was no longer applicable. Sorry. Instead of haggling over a $10 gouge as we were very tired from traveling, we just cut the servers tip in half. It's sad, because she did a good job and was very prompt in her service. But she was also prompt in letting us know why we will no longer be dining at Mimi's. I have found that when people feel like they can pull something over on their clients, and I have seen this a great deal in my older years, that it WILL come back to bite them. Hopefully this won't happen to other people. And I also hope that the management will honor their menu prices and that the servers will not simply comply with bad management tactics and practices. I'm sad I was taken to the place where I felt I had to write a bad review. Usually I rave on establishments and the people who make these places great. Sorry Mimi's. read more

Well, I said I'd be back with an update. Whatever the wait staff lacked during my previous visit, Nikki made up for it in spades on this visit. In addition, the food was excellent and the manager even paid us a visit. Looks like Mimi's has returned to her former self: great food, great service and great atmosphere. Another awesome note - the cole slaw is "almost" back to its original recipe and sauce. Just need to dice the cabbage a little smaller and it will be there.
