There was 4 other tables other than us and we waited 10 minutes to get water and another 10 minutes for J****n to take our order. When she came to take our order she rolled her eyes so we got up and left. We will never come back to this Dennys again. The one server was taking care of 3 tables and hustling. Our waitress was no where to be found; waiting on our table and 1 other. We will never return to this restaurant again. Short staffed or not; bad service. I love moon over my hammies and its my go to at Denny. Last time I ate here, you could see theu cut the portions back, but last night was the absolute worst. I love this Dennys! Someone mentioned the San Antonio location in the review. Please don't. This is NOT that! Ms. Mickie is our preferred server at the Unser location in Rio Rancho and I leave this Denny's happier than when I got there. Great service, super clean and inviting, awesome food, and there are a LOT of regulars here for a good reason! ALL the servers are great, treat you well and you will find your favs! I probably frequent this place for a sit down meal more than any other place in town because who doesn't want to start their day in a great mood with a good breakfast and a happy attitude to share in the world because of the employees at this Denny's? This Denny's in Rio Rancho off of Unser is by far the best restaurant for the price within a 30 mile radius! My wife and I went there yesterday for a 3 PM lunch. To begin with, the hostess was lovely, sweet and efficient. Our waitress confirmed where we preferred to sit and then followed us to our table. I ordered the senior salmon, which was one of the best salmons I have had at any restaurant, at any price. It was cooked to perfection! And, because it was a senior special for 55 years +, it was a fraction of the regular price! My wife ordered the Bourbon Chicken Skillet and the size was enormous. I had a few pieces and loved the flavor! The waitress took care of us as if we were her own family. All I can say is, if you want a clean, decent, family restaurant with plenty of tastey food at a reasonable price, drop in at Denny's off of Unser and enjoy, like we did yesterday! read more

We came to Denny's on a Saturday morning because my girlfriend was craving pancakes and we were too lazy to cook. I haven't been inside a Denny's in many years and never in the morning unless it was after midnight. The parking lot was packed, but we were seated pretty quickly and the place was busy. The place was clean, the interior was nicely updated from the Denny's I've been to through the years, and our server was the best. This is how you know you're in NM, when the server asks if you want green chilie on the side. This coming from a guy who just recently moved here after visiting a lot throughout the past year. We had the Spicy moons over my hammy and pancake stack. $15.70. We went to Denny's to try the Spicy moons over my hammy that we have been seeing advertised. It was both different and better than we thought it would be. While it had jalapenos it also had spicy chorizo! ..Which was some of the best we've had! So felt like a home cooked type meal and was in end of day traffic so stopped here. Location sucks because if you are in the southern direction you have to do a lot to get here. I remember my parents taking me to Dennys when we traveled. The place has been upgraded, clean, and seems staff are friendly. Music is on the loud side but that is to be expected as people bring their kids. Actually nice that this place caters to family. At each booth there are outlets, bring your laptop, pop a squat and have a meal at the same time. My order was taken quickly but let's see how long it takes to get the meal. Chicken fried steak looks good and did not take too long. Of course there is some lady coughing up a storm and she should cover her mouth. Yuck!! Food is okay, the CFS was okay, not great. Corn was decent and mash potatoes started out good but then had little taste to them Once your food arrives they don't check on you at all. So that is not good. read more

Waited 15 minutes before the waitress came to greet and bring menus. Placed order specifically asked for soft or steamed hash browns. When the order showed up. The hash browns were under cooked. I told her that I was disappointed in the way that they were prepared. She told me the the cook didn't know how to make steamed hash browns and asked me if I knew how to make the. I said yes, put the hash browns on the grill, squirt a little water on them an cover them with a lid. Needless to say my breakfast ended up costing over $18.00 plus drink. You would think for that kind of money. The staff should at the very least know how to prepare the food. Most times, you don't expect extraordinary from Dennys. The day we visited food was better than normal And the waitstaff was EXCELLENT. I felt as though I was listened to (I have particular demands when it comes to my breakfast) and well taken care of throughout the entire visit. Went here today before 6 pm for dinner with some long time friends. We chose here because the menu fit most of our dietary needs but also because the mother of one of the attendees ate at a Denny's the last time she saw her son before he passed away. Poor choice. We were sat about 5:45 with kids menus and 3 adult menus for 7 people. They did not seem to have crayons for the kid menu's which made more than an hour wait for food very very long. One in our party has celiac and lactose intolerance, I am also lactose intolerant. Her food was made incorrectly and had to be remade, we weren't being picky. It was after 7 pm before we got our food served and we did not get refills in that long wait time. Food was okay, it's Denny's I wasn't expecting much. However, as I sit here after leaving at 8 pm, I feel absolutely awful. My stomach is torn up and I have a feeling my food got contaminated with dairy. Overall we spent just over $90 for mediocre food at a very slow restaurant. All the soap and hand sanitizer dispensers were broken too. It was 2+ hours of time. I would go past this for another place, especially if you have food sensitivities. I don't know how the other food allergy person is in our group but I'm hoping that she is okay because I definitely am not. read more

I should have reviewed this restaurant a long time ago but I'll try to summarize at least a dozen visits over the last year or so. When one thinks of Denny's, one wouldn't usually classify it as anything special. Just decent food at decent prices. But THIS particular Dennys IS something special and it starts with outstanding management and very caring and excellent employees from the servers to the cooks! The people in this restaurant from top down are committed to a great experience! The food is outstanding, no matter whether it's breakfast, lunch, or dinner... EVERYTHING is prepared and served with care and commitment to quality. The servers are friendly, helpful, and sometimes even hilarious in how they do their job. They check on customers often for refills on drinks or any other service they can provide. The food is excellent and prepared with the utmost of care for how you order it. Everything is fresh, the right temperature, and flavorful. We go to this Denny's often even though there is one closer to where we live just because they do such a wonderful job at preparing and serving a high quality meal at reasonable prices. They take good care of seniors and people with disabilities. We watch and we notice that this is a restaurant that is very well managed and very well staffed! We appreciate that as it is rare these days to find an establishment that consistently gets it all right! Highly recommend! read more

Ordered food online for delivery. ETA was 30-45 minutes. We got the food an hour and a half after we placed the order. We were missing multiple items and some of the items we did get, were not what we had actually ordered. I called the store and no one would answer. After the 6th time calling I guess they figured the phone would not stop ringing and someone picked up just to put me on hold and never come back. I started calling again and after the third call Britney picked up. Britney was not the manager. The shift manager (Data) was "too" busy to come to the phone. Britney should not have had to deal with an upset customer. She did the best she could to help me out but she was at the mercy of a) backwards customer service policies or b) an utterly incompetent leader. Long story short I was not helped in any shape way or form nor did they try to make things right. They tried to pin it on grub hub (I'm sure they went to the kitchen to mess up the order). I was told I could contact the GM in the morning. Maybe the GM Veronica is good at her job but the way her team represented her in this situation screams a different story. I was not going to bother. Very disorganized. It was lunch and 20 people milling around lobby looking for a sign in list. The gal who had it on her phone was MIA. She finally showed up but spent 5 minutes in phone taking a take out order. There were two families trying to pay and leave, but no one to take their money. Finally girl on phone got around to it, but took list of people waiting first. In between she did a to go order at window and bagged up a Grub Hub order. The manager was no where to be seen for 20 minutes and finally helped some people check out. We waited over 35 minutes to be seated and then sat at table for 15 minutes after it was bussed for our waiter, who said they had to space out my orders going into kitchen. The kids enjoyed a hamburger with French fries and a stack of birthday pancakes with whipped cream and sprinkles for the other. My husband had an All American Grand Slam, and he slammed it back! It was bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, hash browns, and an English muffin. My daughter had a vegetarian omelette with hash browns and a tomato juice. I had a spinach, bacon, and Swiss cheese omelette with fresh fruit. The food was all freshly made and well prepared, but we almost died of starvation just waiting. Issac was our waiter. He was very kind, and overworked. They are so short of staff. We will go back again at a less hectic time. read more

Absolutely terrible. The orange juice was water with a spritz of orange juice. It literally was diluted. The eggs benedict ....terrible....ham was old and hard and the egg was barely there. This is by far the cleanest, best run Dennys I have ever been to. Came for Sunday breakfast. It was packed when we got here. They quoted us 30 minutes. We were sat in less than 15. The hosts and manager were very friendly and courteous. Out waiter was very friendly and knowledgeable. Our food came out fast - was hot - and very good. We have a picky kid so we had to modify her order and they got it 100 percent right . Waiters who weren't our waiter checked on us when they walked by. It was top quality. I do not understand why this place has such low ratings but the Dennys in Bernalillo could take some tips from this place. You all are doing a great job. Better than wecks or any other breakfast place in Rio. This will be our Sunday breakfast spot. read more

Went in for an early dinner between lunch and dinner. Greeted at the door and seated. Inside of the restaurant was nicely done, staff was sweeping floors and was tables were clean and neat. Wait staff were friendly and happy. Breakfast Meal orders taken and drinks were timely. Meal portions were great, hot and very tasty. The chocolate hush puppies and glaze dip was to die for...warm with crunch on top, chocolate chips just melting, and a wee bit gooey yum!! Timely and friendly service and relaxed setting. My wife and I received an email from Denny's inviting us to a $5.99 special original slam breakfast! we headed out December 11th and arrived at the Denny's were seated and advised that we could not received that special at that location. We immediately displayed our dissatisfaction to management, but they could care less, We left and ended up eating at Five Guys Hamburgers. that was a lot of wasted time and money for fuel to not receive excellent service! we have reservations about ever visiting Denny's ever again! read more

One waitress picking and choosing who she will serve (maybe 1 or 2 tables). The other waitress was very busy talking to the people at the front desk and served no one.
