It took forever for a waitress to come to our table because, quite honestly, she was too busy standing around chatting with other tables. We ordered this around 5pm through Door Dash on 12/31/2021. The food looked good upon arrival, but the taste was really off for me. I ordered the Mediterranean Chicken and Veggies meal. The small salad was sent WITHOUT any dressing. At least I was home where I could add some. The Mediterranean Chicken just did not taste right to me. Not even the veggies, and I ordered it for the veggies. The chicken itself tasted okay, but the veggies and that sauce was just off. Even the mashed potatoes underneath everything tasted off to me. I couldn't eat any of it, so another family member will get it. I also got the molten lava cake. They sent it along with ice cream, and extra chocolate sauce and a sliced strawberry, and it was superb. The attention to the details was awesome! Too bad that same attention to detail was not given to the small salad (sent with no dressing). My dining companion ordered an omelet and loved it. I really have no idea where the Mediterranean Chicken went wrong, but I think it might've been a fluke and not an all the time thing. So I will definitely give them another try at some point. For the price, though, I definitely expected salad dressing and a better tasting entree. It is pricier than most places, so I expected better. Maybe Mimi's just isn't for me. read more

Love Mimi's - especially their onion soup. Best ever! We always get their steak, eggs and fries along with the onion soup. Always visit Mimi's at Chesterfield whenever we get to St. Louis. We came in for dinner because our neighborhood lost power. We waited for 10 mins to be seated and it only had a handful of diners. Four waitresses were present but never came over to the checkin area or looked to see if anyone needed service. Sat in a booth w ripped seats. Waitress took our order after 20 mins, and then we waited another 20 mins for our salads. While we were waiting observed an employee yelling at the waitresses he couldn't find something behind the bar then he found it (pack of cigarettes) and asked the waitresses if they needed any, loudly. Our waitress smelled like cigarettes, but she told the guy she didn't smoke so we were confused... about 10 mins later we all smelled marijuana from where we sat, now we get it! Enough already. We should have taken off in the 10 mins they took to see if anyone else would eat here. They were right, why would anyone choose to eat here read more

Quality was just not there. Juice was obviously from concentrate & not likely 100% juice. Ham & cheese crepes were not the French recipe I expected (cubed vs real shaved ham). Seems they were microwaved too so they were dry. Eggs Benedict with corned beef hash was bland with minimal sauce. Hash did not taste "homemade". Potatoes were overcooked for both entrees. Both would have been better served w/a cup of fresh fruit. Coffee was decent & service was good. A great brunch offering!! The brunch menu is somewhat simple but has a little bit of everything so everyone should be able to find something. They also have a great mimosa offering - several to choose from!! The omelettes, French toast and breakfast tacos are all really good. Can't go wrong. The staff is also very helpful and pleasant! What a great place for breakfast or lunch! My husband and I were out shopping in Chesterfield and were looking for a new place to eat. We were not disappointed. Deb was our waitress and she gave us several suggestions. Deb said Mimi's is known for their muffins, so we our appetizer was a warm carrot raisin nut muffin. Yum! My husband got the corn beef hash eggs Benedict. Perfect sauce...it was delicious. I order the lunch trio with French onion soup and the turkey royal sandwich. From the greeter to the manager, everyone we met was very welcoming and helpful. We will be back! I think the next time we will order the potpie or the quiche...they looked awesome. read more

I came here one time before and the experience was a very good one, good waitress, good food. Had I wrote a review then it would of been a good one. This time I took a friend after bragging on Mimi's Cafe's good service, great bread and good food it's a shame to say not one good component was there. The the wait was double what we were told. After being sat we ordered, a half sandwich, fries and soup for me and pot roast for my friend, I anxiously waited for the yummy breads that I had bragged on...we waited for what seemed like forever and finally here comes our food...what happened to the bread??? I asked the waitress and she tells me I told her I didn't want bread?!?!?! UM, the bread was why I chose to eat at Mimi's and I would never ever say no to bread. So instead of just going and getting bread she continues to argue with me and walks away!!! At this point I am irritated, mind you the manager was aware of the situation too. we eat our food which was pretty good. However they forgot my fries and the waitress is avoiding our table like the plague. At this point I just want to eat and leave, this is a wash. Well here comes the waitress with a couple white bread rolls reminding me again that I told her I don't want bread...UGH. I told her I thought the bread was an assortment of breads...she said they were slicing the carrot bread and would bring it when they were ready...yep you guessed it, it never came. As we were finishing up the waitress finally noticed I never got my fries and asked me about it, I told her we never got the carrot bread either and she told me they ran out of carrot bread. But of course you did, Check Please!... The waitress came with the check apologizing, in her hand was one of their delicious muffins boxed for me and all became right with the world. Took kid 2 out for lunch and her first choice was closed so we decided to try Mimi's. Our server was in the weeds when we arrived but managed to do alright over the course of the meal. The kid had chocolate chip pancakes and sausage links. I left her pancakes alone but did knick a bite of sausage. It was nicely seared and had a great flavor. The kid is pretty picky about sausage but was quite happy. I opted for their special which was a roast butternut squash ravioli with Cajun shrimp in a red cream sauce with wilted spinach. The picture I took really does not do it justice. It was surprisingly good and the kid horned-in on it as well. A gem hidden in Chesterfield Valley, who would've thunk it? My family was sooo anti- going to Mimi's. They complained that we'd have to wait for hours just to get over priced pancakes. Boy, were they wrong. In fact, our brunch last Sunday was cheaper then the one at the feeding trough (Old Country Buffet) the weekend before. (Please don't judge my g-parents for loving the buffet, they are, in fact, old) We got a table in 15 minutes. Although some people, with the same number of people in their party, totally got seated wayyyy before us.... this makes me think that they accept reservations. Crazy. Our service was really good. He was patient and friendly. I had the crab cakes benedict and they are right up there with Wildflower's, only difference is that they don't come on an English muffin and they ARE GINORMOUS. Huge. And their potatoes have a nice crisp outside and delicious seasoning. Gma got an avocado, bacon and crab omelette. Everytime she started talking to the randoms at the table next to us, I was stealing her omelette.... it was delicious. At one point, I forgot my Gpa had even accompanied us because he was so quiet. This is not normal for him, but he had so many pancakes shoveled into his trap, it was a silent blissful meal with no jibber jabber from the senile, war-vet, Italian big mouth. Four adults. Total bill : $42?!?!?!??!?!? WOW! This is a bargain and worth the fifteen minute wait. The meals included juice and fresh baked, monster-sized muffins. We arrived at 11:30 on a Wednesday and stood in line to see the hostess. Although I always hate to wait, I took it as a good sign that the place was packed so early. We decided to set at the bar so we didn't have to wait and were immediately attended to. After ordering drinks and reviewing a great selection on the menu, I started with the tomato bisque soup. Large serving size. Lots of flavor. Will definitely have to have that again soon. Main coarse was turkey, stuffing and mashed potatoes. There were so many other items on the menu that I would like to try so I will be back real soon to try more. Definitely recommend giving this place a try. read more

Very disappointed with the quality of food at Mimi's Cafe! I ordered the Beer Battered Fish and Chips which was Not a beer batter, rather a grainy, crusty batter. It was served with cold, cheap thin fries, probably thawed from frozen. It also came with coleslaw that was very dry and tasteless, probably scooped from a large refrigerated container of pre made commercial slaw that (if there was any) any creamy dressing was lost to the bottom of tub. If you want bread with your meal, we found you had to 'ask' for it- don't bother! It was tasteles, crusty pieces of dried baguette. For $16.99 I felt the whole meal was cheap, probably prepared from frozen and tasteless, hardly worth the price. As a new (and never again) customer, I left feeling disrespectedhat a company would put so little thought into a meal that they offer their customers. read more

Well, my friends and I were looking forward to a nice brunch before going on to an appointment to look at wedding dresses for one of them. We were so disappointed. Friend 1 ordered the corned beef hash. She called it disgusting and couldn't go beyond the first bite. Her cinnamon roll was tolerable. Friend 2 ordered two hard boiled eggs, crispy bacon, the cinnamon roll French toast, and oatmeal. The oatmeal was pure rubber. It actually bounced! The French toast was a bit odd tasting, and she found what appeared to be a piece of ham in it. That's not normal. She was put off by the ice cold eggs (apparently hard boiled eggs are normally served cold, but it was a first for her and me), but the bacon was cooked the way she likes it. I had a pick three mix and match and a pineapple mimosa. First off, Korbel Brut is NOT the best choice for a mimosa of any kind. It really should be a slightly sweeter sparkling wine, preferably a demisec. Second, it would have been nice if they'd had given enough pineapple juice to mix up two mimosas instead of just letting me pour more and more of the Brut in, slowly taking away from the pineapple flavor and making my drink dryer and dryer. My first choice on the mix and match was the French dip. I'd rank the au jus above Lions Choice (barely) but well below Arby's for flavor. The bread was good, though, and at least the meat was tender. Choice two was the Caesar salad, which could have stood to have a bit more dressing and maybe not have wilted lettuce, some of which was a bit on the brown side. The truly delicious part was the first half of my mimosa (when there was still a good balance of juice and wine) and the strawberry cheesecake parfait, though would it kill them to use fresh strawberries? Kind of sad when a selection off a hospital menu has a higher quality than something at a place that tries (and fails) to give a French bistro vibe! I should also note that it was also VERY busy. I'm pretty sure we only got a seat because we were smart enough to make a reservation. I don't know how it stays so busy considering my experience, but it was. I know that part of the business was a wedding shower, and a rather large group at that. The result was that they pulled ALL of their wait staff to work the shower. And I mean ALL of them. If you weren't part of the wedding shower party, you got stuck with the obviously overworked bartender, who was doing her best to take care of the tables in the bar area AND keep up with the drinks being ordered. So overall poor service, because they obviously didn't think to make sure they had enough staff to go around, but I'm not blaming our bartender-acting-as-a-waitress. She went out of her way to take care of us, and was the only truly good part of our experience. 0/10, will NOT be back. read more

We had dinner here tonight, 4-6-19. My husband and son ordered Creole Pasta and when the waitress served our food the spaghetti noodles had a white wine sauce on it as well as tomatoes and broccoli. I ordered the fresh pot roast which was mediocre. My daughter ordered the slow roasted turkey with cornbread stuffing which she said tasted like corn meal and was very bland. I am partial to Mimi's because it is among the few franchise/chain restaurants I frequent. All Mimi's carry a unique balance of creativity & tradition. Their themed rooms keep it interesting - you could essentially eat there four times in one week and eat in a different atmosphere each time.. That is a plus to me. On my last visit, I was very impressed with the service. I ate there on the Saturday before Easter. I asked to customize a dish, essentially I wanted to combine ingredients from three pasta dishes on their menu. The server was very honest in that she wasn't positive she could accommodate my request because they already began the prep for tomorrow (Easter).. but she would ask. In short, not only did they accommodate my request but they far exceeded all expectations. I finished the entire pasta bowl! And the portions are never small at Mimi's!! This is an awesome place for "ladies who lunch," and it's great for anyone who wants something a little different in the Chesterfield Valley. I've been here a few times for lunch and dinner and have always been impressed. I love the decor--the inside is one of those places that is made to look like you're outside. For some reason, I always love that. Mimi's drops you in a city street in New Orleans. And the food selection is great. They have a lot of fresh and healthy items and offer fresh fruit (that is actually fresh fruit). Their salads and wraps are really good. The last time I was there I had the grilled chicken and fruit plate because I wanted something lighter, and it was just what I was looking for. It was also served with one of their giant muffins, and while I couldn't finish the whole thing, it was so delicious. Do yourself a favor and try the buttermilk spice muffin. It's also reasonably priced. The next time you are looking for somewhere a little different for breakfast, lunch or dinner, I think Mimi's is a great choice. read more

Near end of meal, she offered a different side but I didn't see any other sides I wanted so refused. My sandwich was good. Waitress walked over with a pitcher of iced tea and poured some into my water glass. I reminded her I was drinking water and she got me a new glass of water. Sad because this used to be a good place. Went there for dinner on a Friday at 5:45. Only like 6 people there so when we got seated our server took way to long to take our order. Also for them to want you to wear a face covering and not really busy, they sat two couples on both sides of us. So to the food part. My wife and her friend ordered French Toast with bacon. The French Toast had garlic on it and the bacon was way to crisp. Almost burnt. I ordered Meatloaf with potato al gratin and green beans. Let's just say the green beans was the best part of my meal. When we arrived we were seated by the kitchen where staff members were arguing and one then walked out and quit. The food was decent but seemed overpriced for the portion size. We have been dining here for years and always had good service a good time. However, Saturday night we decided to use their pickup service. when we got home we discovered that the take out was in cardboard boxes with no liners. My husband's French roast beef had degraded the box to the point where his entire meal ended up in the bag the boxes were in and had to poured onto his plate. My rustic chicken had turned into Tuscan chicken and was dry. To top it all off, I was charged $4 more per entrée than the mobile menu had listed. We will not be dining here again any time soon. read more
