It had been years since I had been to a Mimi's Cafe and I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised. I've always thought of Mimi's as more of a breakfast place but the dinner options were good. We didn't have to wait long to be seated (Friday night) and when we were, our server (Cynthia) was very nice and accommodating. I ordered the Quiche Lorraine which came with a salad and a muffin, and my girlfriend ordered the French Pot Roast with a side salad and we shared a cup of French Onion Soup. The girls ordered pancakes. The side salad and soup came out first, as well as my muffin (which they were so kind to grill for me). Dinner was not far behind but Cynthia stopped by our table to tell us that it would be out any time. The quiche was delicious and I took my leftovers home to heat up the next day. There is a layer of cheese between the crust and egg mixture that is a little thick but it was still very good. I don't like eggs but I like quiche but am quite picky about it (can't be runny, had to be pretty solid and have good flavor). It was definitely a good choice. The French Pot Roast received okay reviews, not the best but for what it was and where we were eating it was good. The girls liked their pancakes - for a kids meal it was $5.29 I believe...a little overpriced. Overall, a good experience for us. A couple tables over (different server), there were two older couple seated and they were having an issue with a coupon that they expected. I watched the Assistant Manager come over and talk to them and pretty much tell them that they didn't receive the coupon they were expecting yet (email?) and that they were getting free muffins anyway. Then he walked away. The server came back about 10 minutes later with the check and told them that she took something off of it. Manager didn't seem like much help, server communicated better. That same server also left a table sitting without introducing herself or taking a drink order for about 10 minutes after they had been sat. Looking at some of the poor reviews, I can see why they were written if they had an experience like that. I'm sure it's just the luck of the draw. Definitely recommend but suggest speaking up your service starts off poorly. read more

I was so disappointed going to MiMi Restaurant in Peoria AZ last night. I ordered Turkey, dressing and mashed Potatoes dinner. Costs were $16.99! The Turkey was Salty fry like it was cooked two weeks ago and put in the Freezer- corn Bread Dressing was like a Brown Lump of Clay. The gravy ok but very Salty- and the Broccoli had dark spots and little black spots of mold on it. I should of got up and left it on table and left. I just was to tired to go through the hassle. Very disappointed with my last visit. They have a new menu. Some items were removed. And some menu choices were changed. For example, the quiesh looks smaller and no longer comes with a salad or muffin but costs the same. I ordered the grilled salmon. It was ok, but the portion size was kinda small for a $16 dollar plate, and we used to get a bread basket with a sourdough roll and a couple of sample size Muffin bites well now you get a couple of over cooked dry dinner rolls. Seriously, for the price we pay give me some decent bread. Also, flavored tea cost $.50 cents extra. You can barely taste it. Cut backs will cost you business in the long run folks.... read more

We're not fans of chain restaurants, but this Mimi's Cafe is better than most. Food is consistent, always good flavor, but nothing fancy. Mimi's Iced Tea is consistently weak ... wish they could fix that. Our server (Shambray) was fast, attentive, and made every step count. Handled a rush of 5 tables at once, including a party of 6-7, with grace. Seemed like all the tables were taken care of efficiently and left happy. A good experience and we will be back. read more

I don't get the draw to this place. Service by Beverlu was excellent. She webt above & beyond. But, the food is a different story... over priced for the quality & quantity. Photos in menu are very deceiving. Chicken was so tough & chewy that we could not cut it with our table knives. The shrimp was chewy. For the $13.99 Trio, I compared what I could have purchased instead at an upscale Mexican food restaurant. Potatoes au gratin were good. I usually enjoy going to Mimi's about once a month but today was not good. We went early Around 4:45 and it was not busy, which I thought was unusual on A Friday night. They no longer serve the little Madeline's with the bread basket. Then I ordered the half baked chicken with herbs and they were out of it. ( they were not even busy). My husband ordered the pot roast which is one of his favorites. The sauce tasted Off and it was mostly mashed potatoes and very little meat. I had the shrimp with pasta which was tasty but not great. I have visited Mimi's twice with my family. The first time we stopped in for breakfast. Service was horrendous and the food was so so. 3 of the meals came out initially and the forth meal was delayed because it was left off of the order for the cooks. We vowed to not return. Well we did and shame on us for not going with our first instinct. Service again was terrible. The food was good except for an order of Frits that did not get made. When the server finally returned we informed her and 15 minutes later an order of Frits showed up as we were finishing our meals. We asked for our check as we ordered desert and again the server was awol from the dinning room. Another server took our check and cashed us out. Very poor service. read more

I have been to this location in Glendale many times with friends. The food is always good and the staff look happy to be working there. Nothing is too much trouble for the wait staff. The only thing I would add here is the standard price of everything. When one of my friend ordered the cinnamon roll breakfast, it came up very small. He wasn't satisfied but would not either return the dish or order more because we had waited too long already. This particular visit was not great. Plus it cost a bundle. "Corned Beef" sandwich was really corned beef/potato hash thrown on a greasy grilled bun with coleslaw. Very disappointed and felt it was more greasy potatoes than corned beef. Service was fair. We have barely been to Mimi's over the past couple years. There was rarely someone at the host/hostess post. Trying to get your server to return was nearly nonexistant. So imagine my surprise to see some greeting us...with a smile and enthusiasm! The restaurant was bustling with servers and customers. Every server was busy but smiled and even said hello in some form or another. Our server was so nice and cheerful. I'm sure I will butcher the spelling but his name was Waynesworth. What a pleasure it was for someone to be grateful we were there and was happy to be there. Food was wonderful and reminded me of why I used to love Mimi's. At the end of our meal our server brought over the general manager, Leroy Paul. Yet another person cheerful and happy to be there.
