Just finished eating at Mimi's ordered roasted chicken with scalloped potatoes. The roasted chicken was tough and no flavoring at all. The scalloped potatoes were dingy grey and they tasted a week old, I exchanged for mashed potatoes and obviously they were instant. I had to buy a muffin because the bread in the basket tasted like cardboard. I will never eat here again, The only good rating was the server, she was very friendly and accommodating. Dirty. The booth for so old that had no cushion for comfort. I ordered a hamburger sandwich that had Swiss lettuce, bacon, tomato onions, and pickles. The Swiss look cold it was in melted. They never came up to ask me if I wanted to refill in my drink I wanted to salad they brought me fries. I don't recommend this place cause I feel like it's dirty, the lady that works there looks unprofessional maybe because of the area that I'm in I don't live around here so who knows read more

I would give the Thanksgiving Turkey a 0 if I could! The worst tasting Thanksgiving dinner I have ever tasted. The stuffing was a joke, with way to much sage. Potatos were awful, even the dessert was terrible. Everything had a bitter taste to it. I felt so robbed and cheated. We ordered the Turkey dinner for 8. That was a joke too. it barely fed 4. $140.00 for the most awful stuff, you could put in your mouth. I felt ripped off. I will NEVER go to Mimi's Restaurant again. A real shame too. We ordered our turkey feast for Thanksgiving and everyone loved the food which was very easy to reheat with the directions that came with it. The staff was also very friendly especially the manager Romero, who brought the feast out to me in less than 5 minutes when I came to pick it up at the restaurant. Another staff member carried it to my car too. It was such a great experience that I'm back by my family's request for another turkey feast for Christmas too. read more

Come celebrate Thanksgiving at Mimi's Cafe. No reservation needed! But expect to come to a dining room that is only one-third open and a bunch of parties complaining about waiting for over an hour to be seated. The Thanksgiving meal was very disappointing. French onion soup was lukewarm and seemed to come out of a microwave. Everything else was mediocre or awful. The cornbread stuffing looked like vomit but tasted like nothing? I don't know how to explain it. We left the place feeling ripped off paying $25 per person. read more

I have been to Mimi's Cafe for years now and in California they did not deliver what I was expecting or used to. I asked for scramble eggs and I got hard burnt tasting eggs with over cooked cheese on top then when given the check was told there was no manager so they could only take off the orange juice price so we were still charged for eggs that we didn't eat. Chicken and waffles chicken was over cooked and did not enjoy it at all. Usually food is all gone but this time there were plates full of food! read more

It was our first time here, after many times driving by it we decided to try dinner. I had the turkey and dressing feast with fries. It was great! Large portion of turkey and sides. Gravy was tasty. Turkey was tasty. They definitely gave me my money's worth. It was a plateful. The free bread was fine and we ate it, but nothing special... but greatly appreciated, as it was free. Nice touch. I loved the side salad I added to my meal. I'd do that again in a minute! The ranch dressing was yummy and I even ordered extra dressing as it was so yummy. My guest had a half sandwich and French onion soup, and said both were great. The ambiance here is so relaxing. This is a laid back atmosphere and definitely a nice place for some good conversation. Our service was good. The fountain drink was good and my guest enjoyed an Arnold Palmer with free refills. Thanks for the relaxing atmosphere and comfort food. Nice place you have here. This is for one in Monrovia. Mimi's used to be my go to place but their cooks are horrible lately 9/2021. Less than a hand full of string fries, limp and charred? I also had Asian chicken salad, but if there was chicken the amount of 2 dry wings... shameful for that amount that salad cost. I always loved their corn chowder but now it tastes like raw flour. My husband chose Jambalaya and says do BJs instead. What's up Mimi's? Does everything in Los Angeles have to be Mexican? The recipes are tried and true but maybe the cooks can't read;I know now they can't cook. read more

Los Feliz closed down so we made the drive to Monrovia for some tasty Mimi's. Our server Lucas brought out our breakfast hot and fresh. Yum

This place is so bad now. Cold bread. Small portion. And everything is super duper salty. Their only saving grace is the amazing service. And their $3 dollar house wine, which I didn't try and never will. Considering how bad their food is, I'm sure their house wine is another step down to barefoot. Two thumbs down! read more

We ordered our thanksgiving dinner here to go. We had ordered a few extra items at Boston Market for our kids and they were disorganized. Mimi's Cafe was so different. Much more organized and friendly. Better quality food. The only issue is the portions were a little small. It's supposed to feed 8-10 and that was a little stretch unless people are dieting for the holidays. Overall a good experience. I'd hesitate to do it again because of the portions. read more

The food was awesome. We asked for hot fresh and new. That's what we got. We hadn't had breakfast and we're pretty hungry at 4:30 when we got here. I love that Mimi's serves breakfast all day! Yay. I've been looking to try this place for a while, and I have to say I was very satisfied. Great staff and the host was amazing. Accommodating our tables and he was just such a nice gentlemen. I ordered breakfast and lunch. Very hard pancakes looked like they were from 1 day before. I ordered scrambled eggs and they were not well cooked, they were still soggy. There was a BOGO special going on so the fiancé and I decided to finally check out this restaurant (coupons really do work!). We arrived around 11am and there was a decent amount of people dining. We were seated right away and ordered our drinks: a hot coffee and hot green tea. We ended up ordering the two eggs meal with corned beef hash and the pain perdu with mixed berries. The coffee was super watered down but the food was okay. Nothing spectacular but not terrible either. The service was okay but the food did take about 15-20 minutes to come. Tried Mimi's for the first time today and I was disappointed. I had ordered the cinnamon roll French toast and it was cold in the middle. It was also very dry and not edible. The eggs were very watery and the bacon was also cold. My bf for an omelette, muffin and a hot chocolate. The roasted potatoes that came with the omelette was cold and the hot chocolate did not taste like chocolate at all. Only thing that was good about both our meals was the muffin. On top do that, one of the male servers was rude to a customer who had been waiting for a long time to get her check. Had the urge for some grilled salmon. So I stopped in. Service was pretty good once it got going, took a bit to get going which was amusing because I was one of four tables seated in the room. It was tasty but the portion was small. The au gratin potatoes were decent, the braised spinach was barely warm. The french onion soup was really good, they just need to keep it under the broiler for a bit longer. The thing that annoys me is they decided to start charging for the carrot bread which used to be complimentary. It's not like a few tiny pieces costs much of anything, especially when my bill is $36 for 4 square inches of salmon, sides, bowl of soup and a glass of water. read more

Had a 'chat and chew' this morning with 2 of my sistafriends. The hostess was polite and courteous from the start- seated us where we could spread out on the table in a big comfy booth. She started us out with our drinks and gave us time to gather menu request. When the food was brought out, it was fresh and hot. The server was very attentive and made sure we knew we weren't under pressure to eat and run. It was around 10:00, my husband & I had just arrived and checked in to our hotel nearby. Looked up some restaurants in close vicinity that were open for a late dinner. Mimi's was scheduled to close in less than one hour but we were greeted by Kali ... complete with a friendly smile, enthusiasm and greeting! A very surprise considering it was almost closing time! The ambience was nice, quaint and clean. The bar was near the entrance with table lamps and homey decor. We had turkey dinners complete w/ mashed potatoes, choice of veg, cranberry sauce ... which was satisfying. Kali was very attentive and personable! Camille was also friendly and we appreciated their service. We also ordered a piece of the "special" lemon cake to take with us ... although it was very good, the piece seemed small and not worth the $7.00+ cost.
