Easily the worst dining experience I've had in over a decade. Made a reservation for Mother's Day to have brunch with my lovely mother. Checked in 10 minutes early and it was very busy. Patiently waited for over an hour in the blistering heat before checking with the hostess when we might expect to be seated. She said they still had a few people to seat in front of us. Okay fine. 30 minutes later still not seated. Checked with the hostess again to find out she'd actually crossed my name off the list and was seating people that came after us, even without reservation. Not only that, gave attitude why I was asking and said they'd call me when a table was ready. Clearly not. We finally get seated and given the holiday dinner menu. I ask if they have a brunch menu and our waitress, Kali, says it's past brunch and they only have the one menu for Mother's Day. I was not happy about this. The entire reason we choose Mimi's was to get brunch. I was about ready to walk out but my mom was hungry and we'd already been waiting an hour and a half at this point. So we order something even though it's not what we really wanted. Afterwards, we notice every single table around us is getting served breakfast. Had we just missed some arbitrary cutoff time? Skeptical, we ask a different waiter if they only had one menu for the holiday, and they said no, there was indeed a brunch menu and it was being served. By now the food had already come and we didn't want to make a big scene about getting the order changed. We then notice the table next to us being served by the same waitress was given the dinner menu. When they asked if there's a different menu, the waitress promptly gave them the brunch menu. Clearly, there is a double standard going on here. At this point we're very annoyed and ready to leave. We ask for the check and just box up the dessert to go. We don't want to stay any longer. The waitress continues to give attitude and left a very bad experience. This felt like inconsistent service at best, and dismissive at worst. Special occasions deserve better organization, communication, and basic courtesy. We won't be returning. read more

Hello there, another Thanksgiving with Mimi's cafe.. Everything is the same, we get in faster this time.. Food as usual is Excellent.. The Two Star is for Service.. Only we are not too happy with the Server her name is KALI. we notice that she rushing our order , she forgot to ask us if we like combination or dark meat Turkey meal, my wife have to tell her what we like, while on other guest she will ask them what they like, taking her time, so we feel she is rushing our order, she even rushed pouring our coffee, slow down! All Server Must Treat All Customers the same way, not nice to others while rushing on others. I don't mind saying it's been several years since I've been to Mimi's because our last experience there was not the best. But after visiting again recently, we can see that Mimi's has upped their game kept their menu updated with new items and fresh alternatives. i haven't been here in years but it hasn't changed one bit. the interior has the same reminiscent western vibe and quick service. i mainly came back here for the amazing carrot raisin muffin. it is extremely soft and fluffy, i absolutely love it. it took me back to my childhood of coming here with my family. we got the sandwich trio that comes with a sandwich and soup. i like how the french onion soup has a layer of cheese on top, and the grilled cheese sandwich has so much yummy, melty cheese. read more

The food - awful. The bathrooms - disgusting. But the staff - very nice and funny! I'll be honest- the food was pretty bad when I went. Do *not* order the chicken pot pie!! I was really looking forward to it since it was a rare rainy day in SoCal but the filling is SO bland and lukewarm and I felt nauseous after eating it. We got the Apple Crisp Crumble for dessert and it was suuuuper cinnamon-forward (in an overpowering and unpleasant way) Our waiter made our experience a lot better because he was very friendly and funny. NEVER AGAIN. We got a reservation a week in advance and confirmed it and when we got there, they told us it would be an hour wait. They told us that we were lucky we had made a reservation because if not, it was a 2 to 3 hour wait. No apology, told us we were lucky. They told us it was just policy to take that many reservations. I asked why they would take more reservations than they could handle and they said it's because they never know who's gonna show up. They were about 60 people waiting for tables and because it's Mother's Day we couldn't make a reservation someplace else. They basically ruined Mother's Day for all of these people. And they weren't even apologetic. We waited the hour. The food was not that good, so it is definitely not something to wait for. We just had nowhere else to go because we didn't know this was their policy. To take all of the reservations and then just hope some people didn't show up. It's like an airline that over books. I felt so bad for the families with kids waiting over an hour. We kept our cool until we had waited the hour and they told us that it could be another 30 minutes. It's one thing to make a mistake, but it's another to be rude while doing it. They even tried to tell us that it's what happens with restaurants. I know that when I make reservations, I usually expect it to be around the time for the reservation. You could tell that they were about 15-20 families there who were incredibly angry. I'm pretty certain that none of us will all be there for Mother's Day next year. Because of this experience, I actually will never go back again. read more

Had a pleasant experience here with a group of 10 people. We made a reservation about a week and a half in advance. Everything went smoothly! Plenty of parking, huge selection of food to choose from in the menu, and friendly servers. Pricing is average. Ordered a side or the french onion soup and it was delicious! But the real star was the french toast!! It tasted like a mix of french toast and a cinnamon roll, it was DELICIOUS!!! It is very sweet but I like that level of sweetness so I was ok with it. I would definitely come back for it! To top it off, our waitress went above and beyond and gave us all separate checks without us even asking. I was amazed and very grateful! We waited 1 hour for our food and it was made wrong. When I asked to speak to the manager he was rude and tried to tell me that since they don't know what people want on their sandwich they just any cheese on it instead of what the menu says. 3 out of 4 of us got food and the 4th person add to wait an extra 10 min. The 15 min later she got the rest of her order. Additionally, when my food was remade, they switched out the bread and it is not what I ordered! I do not recommend this place. read more

The brunch at Mimi's Café was pretty decent! It would be great if they could add more staff to help with serving, since there was only one person handling it for most of the restaurant. Mimi's has become one of my go-to spots. I've been several times and have tried a variety of things on the menu--everything's been solid, and the muffins are especially good. On this visit, our server Zaida really stood out. She was kind, caring, and made sure we were always taken care of. It's clear she pays attention and enjoys making guests feel welcome. Mimi's service leaves much to be desired, starting with the lack of punctuality when it comes to making a reservation. I made a reservation for Mother's Day specifically to not wait and we still ended up waiting. We arrived at 10:30 for a 10:45 reservation. We got seated at 11:35. We ordered at 12:15. We got our food at 1pm. We left at 1:30. So we were there for 3hrs. It took forever to talk to a manager. I asked for him several times he never came and spoke to me. I finally got to speak to him but he wasn't sympathetic or apologetic towards our situation. It was the worst brunch experience ever. read more

What a disappointing way to spend Mother's Day. The entire purpose of making a reservation is to ensure timely service, yet our 11:30 a.m. reservation meant nothing--we arrived at 11:15 and weren't seated until 1:00 p.m. I understand it's a busy holiday, but the experience only got worse from there. Our server was not only inattentive but also rude. It took 20 minutes just to get our drinks, and nearly an hour for our meals to arrive--cold. When we asked about the delay, we were told that "steak takes more time to cook," which hardly explains cold food or slow service overall. Anyways why have reservations if you are not prepared to for the amount of people that are coming. read more

first of all, I looked forward to bringing my mother here for Mother's Day, but the absolutely horrible service and the insipid food ruined my plans. And this place is not inexpensive. I look forward for days to bring my mother and give her a nice experience, but the snooty waitress, who couldn't check on us once, and the bland meatloaf, just ruined the entire day. The food is ok. Service is soooooo terrible. We went for my daughter's birthday during a weekday night, only a few group of guests. We ordered spinach dip with chips. They brought spinach dip with bread and didn't explain anything. Until we stopped her and ask, She looked at us with a superiority on her face:"there is no chips today." How rude! We don't mind if you don't have chips. At least explain when you serve it. They didn't bring our desert even after we paid the bill. We reminded him. He got the dessert with no extra utensils and put it down hard on the table. How come? All the restaurant we went, the waiters always bring utensils, or at least ask if we need those. Maybe because we are the only group of Asian people？ Otherwise, I don't understand why the waiter and waitress are so unprofessional and mean. I've been planning on taking my Dad to try out different Cafe and coffee places every Mondays and Fridays-- because itt makes me feel good... and gives my Dad a chance to experience different types of restaurants and cusines on a weekly basis . We were there Aug 2, 2025 for my Niece's Birthdat Celebration. The service was appalling from start to finish. First they "LOST" a "PAID" reservation for 25 people. Next they had some other party in the room that was reserved. They told the organizer that they had not prepared for the food that was to be served, but would do their best to accomodate us. WHAT! Next they "FORGOT" to place utensils at each place, until they were reminded to do this. No water on the table. Bread was portioned out at about one piece per person. Soup/Salad was forgotten until half way through the main course, "THEN" only served when asked what happened to Soup/Salad. When asked for more bread, it was burnt and only two small baskets with enough for half the guests. Oh and did I mention that it was SMALL baggette slices, about 2" in diameter. No one ever asked what beverages we would like, guests had to flag down a waiter to get them to bring them their drinks. Plates were not cleared until I asked to have them picked up. Dessert was not handled well, the waiter only gave most of the people two of the three options until someone asked about the third option, so half the people only thought they had 2 options. For all this we paid up front. I would not recommend this restaurant for anything but a new manager and new staff. How do you loose a paid reservation? read more
